What a great find! With other cafes in Ottery not welcoming dogs my partner and I were really pleased to be given a warm welcome by the lovely staff here, and absolutely amazed at the quantity and quality of our lunch! My huge jacket potato with ample baked beans, 3 rashers of back bacon, mixed salad and creamy coleslaw was delicious, as was the mug of very good coffee. The breakfast / lunch menu was very comprehensive and all at very reasonable prices. We'll definitely be back!

Not much to look at located in the rather run-down Ottery main street, but the lovely ladies in the Bay Tree Cafe give you a warm welcome and a very efficient, professional service - freshly cooked food absolutely delicious and moderately priced - highly recommended !!

I only post about places I really like. Baytree serve a great English breakfast and they will give you exactly what you want. The food and service is great They are a friendly and very helpful group of ladies - we really enjoyed them. It's was during the heat wave and it was a bit hot inside, but volume of food took my mind somewhat off that. Try them. It's a lovely place. Thanks Baytree

Come here every time I visit family in Ottery and the food doesn’t disappoint neither does the service. Table service with a smile and the chef is amazing!

Popped in today for lunch in the rain. The model village just 5 minutes away was selling takeaway food but goodness knows where you could take it away to as it was tipping down. So we followed the sign from the car park and came across this lovely cafe. Spotlessly clean, we were welcomed in and the menu was vast and incredibly good value. We both had jacket potatoes one with home made chilli which was amazing. The service was super friendly and we were even given a sweet each when we paid our bill. Fabulous cafe don’t pass it by!

This cafe is a locally run business and deserves so much credit. We ordered so much food we didn’t need to eat for the rest of the day. Birthday breakfast and everything was delicious. I’m really lucky to have these guys on my doorstep. The coffee wasn’t great but stick to tea or juice and you’ll have an amazing time. I couldn’t not give these guys ‘Excellent’ because they’re 9/10 by far. Look at the images of our breakfast! When we went it was just shy of £7 each! Top tip: avoid the cappuccino and stick to the orange juice.

Had excellent breakfast . Bacon really tasty, well cooked egg and upright fried bread. Granary toast chunky. Good latte. Excellent value. I shall return.

This traditional 'no-frills' British Cafe has everything you could possibly want from a cafe and more. From the moment you walk in to the cafe, a warm welcome is waiting to greet you from Sally and her really friendly and attentive staff. The food is always freshly cooked to order, good sized portions, served quickly, really tasty and all very modestly priced! As a delivery driver of nearly 30 years, I can honestly say hand on heart that you will struggle to find a better all round cafe than this one that offers such great food at great prices and superb customer service all under one roof. Simply the best.

Went in with friends for a late breakfast and we weren't disappointed. Good food for good value. Will go again.

Was travelling to our holiday destination and needed to stop somewhere for breakfast, I put in a search and it came up with the Baytree Cafe. We were not disappointed, it was a lovely breakfast and I would certainly recommend it. A few days later we called in the Cafe for lunch and again received excellent service and food.

Este es un gran lugar para comer comida casera en un ambiente agradable. Generosas raciones servidas por personal estupendo a un precio justo. Desayuno y almuerzo es un deber también - si puedes encontrar la habitación. Cada grupo de edad acuden a este restaurante, vale la pena su tiempo cuando estás en el ir y el presupuesto.

¿Qué podría decir? Simplemente que todos necesitamos un lugar que es realmente amable, seguro, acogedor, bien de precio y holística en sí, porque de todas esas cosas! El personal es fantástico, la comida se hace lo que dice en la caja, que es muy buena, sencilla pero fresca de calidad satisfactoria comida con un toque de cariño! Con anterioridad, durante años, acordaron con el servicio de catering, Hotel, hospitalidad y de alto calibre personal, sólo puedo decir que es un 10 en 1 o en mi coolometer! No es de extrañar que la gente quiera más lugares como estos aparecen de nuevo en nuestras calles!

Bueno, si te apetece un guiso. Personal amable. Si estás desesperado por ir al baño - celebrar. Los retretes son asquerosas, sucio, aspecto húmedo como si nunca han sido limpiadas, o probablemente un toque de lejía sainsburys por la loo, numerosas botellas. No toque el sucio o manijas como interruptores podrá recoger algo. No hay acceso para personas de movilidad reducida.

Normalmente no salir para el desayuno, pero circunstancias encontramos mi hijo y yo en este establecimiento justo después de las 8 de la mañana.

Nos encanta comer en Sal's un viernes. . . . La comida es deliciosa (a menudo tenemos un desayuno o una lasaña o chaqueta de patatas. . . Todos buenos) y una buena relación calidad-precio. . . El desayuno es de un buen tamaño. El personal es amable y es un buena experiencia que repetir la mayoría de los viernes. Gracias Sal y chicas.

Sal's is the best Bacon Sandwich I've had in a long time Bacon well done, a lot of town builders take breakfast most mornings, have seen many town people taking lunches so feel it must be good food and good value.

I only popped in for a coffee with my 7 month old daughter and enjoyed talking to the waitress who couldn't be more helpful. It's nice to feel welcome when you need stop somewhere to feed your noisy baby.

Best breakfast in Ottery St Mary. Lovely staff and you certainly get service 29th a smile. Also a great lunch menus and good friendly atmosphere.

Breakfast outstanding me and my friends love going there as the staff are very warm and welcoming the food portions are very large and very good valve for money I also like the take away drinks and bacon sandwiches, would recommend to anyone :)

No matter what you order you will always get great food with excellent service! This is the best place to go in Ottery!

Made to feel most unwelcome with a glare from a waitress who then proceeded to ignore us and continue to empty the dishwasher. We turned and walked out but noticed when we were outside that our clothes had already aquired the smell of dirty chip fat!

Their fried breakfasts are always good, and the main meals are very tasty. Excellent coffee. Cheap but pleasant.

I like the friendly welcome. A great place if you just fancy a coffee in a friendly atmosphere. Lovely all day breakfast and fab lunches served. Never need any more to eat after being here.

What can I say - typical local cafe. Very well used cafe by the locals due to it's cheap and cheerful menu and friendly staff. Clean and very accommodating. Menu ranges from full English breakfast to crusty bread sandwiches and main meals like cottage pie and ham egg and chips!!! Nothing fancy but just good old fashioned cafe food. Very well priced.I would return again.

This is a simple local cafe which is rather good at what it does, illustrated by the number of locals there. We ordered 9 cooked breakfasts and coffee and tea and so on. Service was good. The food portions were enormous and of good quality. First we got a chunk of toasted local bread, then the cooked breakfast, good bacon, good eggs, good sautee potatoes and so on. The sausages let it down a little bit but the price was ridiculously cheap so you can't expect everything. We didn't try the home made cakes but they looked good too.We were all most satisfied and will be back.I would suggest they charge a little more and offer local/artisan sausages.
