Six by Nico offers a great concept. The food was very good let down by the poor level of service. The staff were all friendly and helpful, I refer to the organisation of food leaving the kitchen which is more noticeably when the majority of the restaurant are having the same 6 courses. The waiter at course two noticed a huge delay, apologised and brought over complimentary drinks. He said our ticket had been missed, but this didn’t resolve the delay with the remaining courses. The table next to us arrived a hour later but received course five at the same time as ourselves. We were in no rush but the confirmation email states you have the table for two hours. We were only half way through in that time. My wife and I would return as the food was good. Maybe we were unlucky on this occasion.

I lived in Thailand for 3 years, and the food here is better than most I had in Thailand! Very authentic ingredients, incredibly friendly staff, and very accommodating (special shout out to Sam and Kirsty 🤗). Great atmosphere, would definitely recommend.

We have visited this restaurant many times over the past 20 years and have always had impeccable service and exceptional food in a beautiful setting. It was always a special treat for us and highly regarded by friends and family. I am aware of the recent change of ownership. Things have certainly changed here and not for the better. No table cloths, paper napkins, slate mats, mediocre to poor service, orders taken on iPad. Food was ok but not what it once was. Lots of chips in buckets. I won’t go into the minutia of the meal but overall disappointed. Very sad.

We googled and found this little gem! We were very satisfied with our meals. The food, especially A traditional Sunday lunch with entrée were unexpectedly delicious. We had roast beef and roast chicken with stuffing - all mains came with mashed carrots, toasted potatoes, yummy Yorkshire pudding and cheesy cauliflowers. We found the roast beef was cooked better than a hotel restaurant nearby. The goat cheese, liver parfait and format soup were also above the standards. All of us ordered wine and beers. The price was very reasonable. Will definitely go back to try other dishes again. The staffs were polite, super friendly. Highly recommend AAAAA++++++

Unpretentious interior decor and service but the menu is on the higher end of dinners out. As soon as you walk in, you can smell the smoke from their open kitchen which adds to the fact they’re known for their wood fire cooking. Service was good overall, our server explained the specials in detail, answered my questions about the menu well. For starters, we got the oysters (specials), beef tartare and sourdough with chicken fat as starters (all stunning, my firm favourite was the beef tartare). For mains, I ended up with the guinea fowl with sweetcorn puree and it was absolutely divine. It did not taste gamey at all. My husband got the sirloin on the specials menu which was good, he just regret not asking for medium instead of “chef’s choice” (ended up being more medium rare but this is a personal choice). Glad we came here instead of Flat Iron as it was suited to the occasion (husband’s birthday meal).
