Stella's Bistro in Allerdale

Such a lovely experience dining here tonight. From the moment we walked in we were made to feel so welcome and our host was incredible. Such an honour to listen to the hotel's history and the amazing life of his mom. We had 3 courses and every single one was faultless. The homemade ice cream was perfect. One of the best experiences we have had in a restaurant from start to finish it was a pleasure so thankyou !

From booking our table over the phone, to paying our bill. Stella's was an amazing experience. Our host/owner was Graeme a lovely and attentive host. The food was fantastic, it was all homemade and very tasty, we're both chefs so have some idea about food, we were very impressed. All in all a great experience from start to finish, if you're in the area check it out you won't be disappointed. And don't be worried about the mint you'll receive with your bill, it's wafer thin😜

I had a 2 day stay at The Green View Guest house. I am a solo traveller and stayed in a single bed room with a sea view. The view from the window was fantastic Room was small but clean and very comfortable The en suite in the room was amazing. The plumber did a fantastic job fitting in a shower cubicle, toilet and wash basin Used every single inch in the space provided. Breakfast was superb. Cooked to perfection The two Lads who runs the show is very helpful and professional at the job. Very sad that my time had come to an end. Look forward to book the next time and hopefully get the same room.

Beware!! Front of house owner Graeme was as nice as ever on my first visit but unbelievably rude on my last visit. Myself and my two friends were running 10 minutes late so I called Graeme at the restaurant out of courtesy to let him know we were on our way. The response I got was not very nice. Words to the effect of “you better get here quick” and then he hung up. On arrival he was very awkward and seemed to be rather put out that we were not staying at his hotel. What followed was an outburst of bad language from the man demanding that we left the premises. Still to this day I don’t understand why he was so rude. All in all my worst ever restaurant experience and I would not recommend a visit to Stella’s Bistro unless you enjoy being bullied and abused.

Turned up for dinner and was given a menu, he kept saying that we should be staying with him then went crazy at us, he was shouting at us to get the F out of his F’ing restaurant at full volume. Absolutely disgusting behavior, avoid this place at all costs as Graham the owner has the worst temper I’ve ever seen. We were literally in the premises for 2 minutes before being thrown out, for what I’ve no idea as we had only said hello to him.

I cannot comment on the food as we were not given an opportunity to eat. We had a booking for 19.00 and as we were running a tad late (15 minutes) one of our party of three phoned to advise this. When we arrived there was a bad atmosphere and we were made to feel most uncomfortable Shortly thereafter were told to leave and were verbally abused by the owner. Why he adopted this attitude I do not know; perhaps he was having a bad day but his rudeness was inexcusable. My friends that were with me will also testify to his behaviour in another TripAdvisor post soon.

Excellent food, service and atmosphere. Graeme is a superb and welcoming host. The restaurant area is compact and bijou - which actually makes it so intimate and captivating.

The three of us visited for a birthday celebration, having been recommended to visit by a friend back at our home in Derbyshire. The local area is well supplied for ‘pub grub’, fish & chips and so on, but this is the first time we have found a true fine dining experience. The restaurant is part of the Green View Guest House and is extremely welcoming with wonderful mid-century decor. The food was superb: we had three courses and coffee and not only was the menu varied but the quality of the food was first class. This was a truly memorable experience and a genuine pleasure, while the price was very reasonable for such an experience. We shall be back!

What a lovely little place. Food was amazing and service impeccable. Thoroughly enjoyed our night and will definitely be back. If you like fabulous food in a friendly and welcoming atmosphere look no further! Will definitely be back for more.

Delicious food and great service / atmosphere.

We have just had the most delightful evening in Stella's Bistro. What a find. Each course was better than the one preceding it and there was a good range of drinks to choose from. If you're really lucky, you'll have the company of the proprietor, Graeme. He was attentive without being intrusive, and gave generously of his knowledge and experience of the local area and beyond. The bistro is based within the Green View Guest House, a building of local historic interest and fabulous views, combined with a very affectionate reference to Stella, for whom it is named. The food (which is what we went for), was chosen from a select, seasonal menu, and cooked, by Arch, to perfection. Generous portions had us thinking we were unlikely to finish our meals.........but we did 😋. Oh to live near enough to go back. Menu; starters; duck pate with toast, and potato and mushroom pave. Mains, both had rump of lamb with colcanon and a jus to die for (jus, not gravy 😉). Deserts; both had home made banana and toffee ice cream with a peanut butter cookie. Thankfully, we didn't have too far to roll home. Not open on Mon/Tues.

Our 2nd visit to Stella's Bistro & what an amazing experience again Lovely pre drinks before dinner in the beautiful themed lounge & retro 1950' bar. The food was amazing and a superb wine choice to. Graeme our host absolutely made our evening with his excellent relaxed service and entertaining stories. We will definitely be returning when next in Silloth

My two friends and I had dinner at Stella's Bistro recently and it was first class. The food and ambience was excellent and Graeme, our host, went out of his way to look after us. We shall return! Genu prima! Jimmy Thomson.

Wow what a find. These place's are few and far between nowadays and was recommended to us by a local. Upon our arrival and meeting Graeme our host for the night, was like catching up with an old friend. Food was delicious and well priced too. Many thank's Graeme and Archie.

We got a lovely welcome when we arrived. The food was fantastic, and was delicious. The menu was great for people who are Gluten-free.It was decorated lovely, We will definitely be coming back for another meal. Xx

What's not to like about Stella's, the food was gorgeous the homemade bread out of this world, the host was welcoming and friendly. I cannot remember the last time I enjoyed a meal as much.

We went to Silloth to meet up for a weekend with my son and his partner who comes from Silloth. We were also meeting his partner’s family and had dinner here on two evenings,one with her parents and the other with her grandparents. The restaurant is in a b and b and has a small cosy dining room. The owner is very friendly and helpful and we were made very welcome. On both evenings we had fabulous food, beautifully cooked and the portions were generous. It was also very reasonably priced. When we visit Silloth again we will definitely eat here again

Lovely place! Your options in Silloth for food is basically fish and chips or pub grub. Stella's however is serving up huge plates of tasty French food at great prices! It's part of a guesthouse but open to all if they have space (definitely need to book ahead though as it's only small). Service is impeccable and the whole experience was excellent.

Three of us celebrated my birthday in fine style, with the wonderful welcome of Graeme and fellow diners in the lounge with renditions of happy birthday there and in the dining room ...a lovely friendly atmosphere creating a memorable evening for us all - fine dining at it's very best in this little gem of a guest house/bistro in Silloth. We will certainly be back!

Fitted in last minute and what a experience. Convivial host who has the front room of the guest house set up for diners to enjoy a aperitif. It is food cooked to order and timed to balance the needs of each set of diners. The chicken liver pate was a delight in fact so generous the additional bread homemade by the way was needed. The mains were salmon and chuck steak. The steak was beautifully served with handcut chips and carrots. The salmon perfect cooked with a crust. Hugely enjoyable and very generous. Desert had to be shared and a wonderful lemon tart and chantilly cream. A great find whilst here in Siloth

Everything made by the chef and really tasty. Although small it's really cosy, portions are a good size and very filling.

What a little gem this place is. Five friends went for dinner and could not fault anything at all. Graham our host was so welcoming and could not do enough for us. Food was first class and cooked to perfection. The authentic decor encouraged us to reminisce and made our visit even more pleasurable. Many many thanks we will return.

We ate here on our family holiday. Front of house was fabulous, we were all welcomed into the lounge for a drink prior to dinner. The food was delicious we had a mixture beef, pork and risotto all were brilliant. So too was the deserts. We will definitely be returning here when we are next in town as the staff could not do enough for you.

We revisited Stella’s Bistro after visiting in February. The food is excellent. From the home made bread and ice cream, to the well throughout dishes. It is very small only seating 10-12, which is fine by me, it does mean there is a small menu. But again, the food and the dishes are top class. We are from Manchester and would expect to pay 2 or 3 times the price for that level of quality. Really looking forward to visiting again.

We’d heard the rumours and were not disappointed. The food was excellent and very reasonably priced. A small dining area and a small menu but very nice place to be, following recent renovations. The front of house was great throughout and very knowledgable about the history of the B&B but also Silloth and the surrounding area. We will definitely be going back.
