A real gem of a place. Even though I'm local I'd never been in this place until recently. The staff are great, the food is good and the atmosphere is how a wee pun like this should be.

We had a carvery which was amazing and the staff are very friendly(Debbie and Ashley). For the amount of food the price was very cheap (compared to what we would pay for the same thing down South). Definitely recommend. Also dog friendly which was an added bonus.

The food is absolutely lovely at this place cannot fault it at all. However the service I received was shocking and if I hadn’t already paid for food I’d have left. No smiles upon arrival, staff member had a face of stone the entire time, looking at my partner like he was stupid for asking normal questions. Made me feel extremely uncomfortable. I would never return here which is a shame as the food was beautiful.

Very friendly staff, make you feel welcome. Not a great deal of veg options, but best veg lasagne I've tasted yet. Had Sunday lunch, they do a carvery, only veg for me, plenty to pick from, they went above and beyond, made me veg gravy, really appreciated. Would highly recommend. Great prices also.

Went Into Lifeboat Christmas Eve, Ordered Our Food At Bar, Then WAITED AND WAITED AND WAITED, For What Seemed Like A Lifetime! With Young Unprepared And Inadequately Trained Waitresses Serving Out Meals To Tables In Completely Wrong Order, Leaving Us To Have To Repeatedly Ask Where Our Orders Were. Surely Table Numbers Etc May Start To Improve Things SLIGHTLY? To Avoid The Chaos Of Today! When We Eventually Got Our Food It Tasted Nice, But Even That Wouldn't Entice Us To Risk Same Happening Again In Future. Please Take Note Lifeboat!

This place is a disgrace. Asked for a certain beer and because it run off they couldn't be bothered to change the barrel. Felt uncomfortable as soon as I walked in and then ordered some food and I must say it wasn't a steak or anything but just tuna mayo sandwiches and chips. Food arrived and it certainly wasn't fresh but when I complained about it I was told it was but I would not have fed it to my dog. As I say I complained and was told it was fresh out but considering they wanted to close the kitchen I highly doubt that. Absolutely disgrace and I would certainly never return! Unwelcome from start and felt uncomfortable until I left. Maybe it's because I'm from Liverpool but if not I feel sorry for the locals.... Disgusting food and disgraceful respect for my custom. Would rather have gone to Carnforth truck stop or Penrith where you are treated as a customer and not another number that's a pain in the *** Never again and I don't know about the hot food but if they can't serve a fresh tuna mayo sandwich then I certainly would not want something warm like the fish and chips soaked in grease 🤮

We expected to eat the best fish and chips in the area however it turned out to be average. The building was ok not a wow factor you will find all kinds of vegetables in bags sitting on the floor at the bottom of the stairs and at the entrance of toilets. Not the best and welcoming picture.

Called in for a drink whilst we were having a walk around Maryport. The staff were very friendly and we decided to stay for an early evening meal. We were not disappointed. The menu offered a good selection and the two specials appealed to us as well. the four of us opted for different meals and all of us were satisfied by our choices. The homemade meat and potato pie was excellent. The sirloin steak was well cooked and very tasty. We can only say the same about the Gammon Steak and the Southern Fried Chicken Burger. The food was served very quickly, piping hot and very good portions and very well presented. The pub also offers a good selection of beers and spirits. Well worth a visit if you are in this area.

Our recent visit to The Lifeboat Inn in Maryport was nothing short of fantastic. Nestled in the heart of this charming coastal town, the inn offers a perfect blend of great food, reasonable prices, and a welcoming atmosphere. We all opted for the scampi and chips, which turned out to be an excellent choice. The portions were generous, ensuring we left fully satisfied. The scampi was perfectly cooked, crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, complemented by golden, fluffy chips that were simply delicious. The pricing is very reasonable, especially considering the high quality of the food and the generous portion sizes. It’s clear that The Lifeboat Inn takes pride in offering value for money without compromising on quality. What truly sets The Lifeboat Inn apart is its amazing atmosphere. The warm, friendly staff made us feel right at home from the moment we walked in. The décor is charming and nautical-themed, creating a cozy, inviting environment that’s perfect for a meal with family or friends. Overall, The Lifeboat Inn in Maryport is a must-visit. Whether you're a local or just passing through, I highly recommend stopping by for their scampi and chips – you won’t be disappointed!

We called in for food as we were located close by. It's got many awards and justifiably so. The staff are incredibly attentive, accomodating, professional and personable. The food in all departments, quality, variety, portion sizes, waiting time is a cut above the rest. We returned the following evening having intended to move to another venue later on but decided to stay as the atmosphere was great... we experienced the same 5 star quality again and would like to give our thsnks to the crew of the 'Oddfellows' for a superior pub experience🙏🏻
