While staying at the hotel recently we had some extremely well cooked, well presented, reasonably priced meals. I am sure this chef is on his way to many awards in the future.

Pleasant hotel, easy to find and fantastic views. Room was clean, tidy, everything you needed. Staff were super, reception and restaurant staff very good. Food good, my wife had Indian curry and myself fish and chips. Well worth the stay, we will return shortly

Los lagos habituales son muy lluviosos, pero tenemos equipo para clima húmedo, así que no te preocupes. Dé un paseo por el bosque de Dodds y luego regrese a Ravenstone Manor para almorzar y relajarse en la acogedora sala de estar. Venimos aquí en numerosas ocasiones y pasamos nuestras últimas dos Navidades aquí, lo cual fue genial, además de que es muy amigable para los perros y puede acomodar mi dieta sin gluten.El personal es encantador, amable pero no demasiado agresivo.Recomiendo venir aquí para quedarse o simplemente para almorzar xxx

Nos alojamos en un hotel en el camino, y alguien local nos recomienda este lugar para comer. Desde el momento en que entramos nos recibieron como lugareños. Nos ofrecieron una bebida en el bar mientras miramos los menús, la mesa que teníamos estaba en la esquina del restaurante y el personal era amable y atento toda la noche. Los cuatro elegimos cosas diferentes del menú y todos estaban deliciosos.Los dos únicos inconvenientes leves. El estacionamiento puede ser realmente complicado, especialmente si tiene un automóvil grande. En segundo lugar, el pub es muy amigable con los perros, lo cual es genial si te gustan los perros, pero uno de nuestros miembros es alérgico al pelo de perro, por lo que fue un poco desconcertante al principio, pero al final resultó no ser un problema.Si estás en la zona, haz el esfuerzo de comer aquí, vale la pena.

We ate here three nights while staying at the hotel and were very impressed: a good and varied menu, beautifully prepared and presented food, a very good choice of wines, and excellent service in a very pleasant and comfortable dining room

We had a great choice of vegetarian food, beautifully presented and impeccable service.. We have found this so rare these days so this was a great treat.

Had a very pleasant dinner here last night,food was very good ambience nice, only slightly spoiled by being made to feel we had out stayed our welcome after 10.30pm..feel putting lights out around us lurking about the tabe and clearing the table completely was a good enough hint..if they wanted to lay up for breakfast perhaps we could of been offered a seat in the Bar to finish our conversation

Advised to eat here by the landlady of our B and B and it didn’t disappoint. Staff were fabulous, food was very good and very tasty. Only downside was a request for a rare steak was served as medium, but the steak was a tasty piece of meat. Very dog friendly. Lovely rooms to relax in with a gorgeous fireplace.We will be back, next tine with dogs!!!

Our friends brought us here for lunch on Saturday 14th of September. It’s an wonderful historic building with absolutely stunning views! The staff are very friendly and helpful, nothing is too much trouble. The menu has plenty of choice, the wine list was very good too. One of us had the fish and chips, and three of us had a wonderful beef curry (which I frustratingly cannot recall the correct name of!). Hubby had a pint of real ale, the driver had tonic, and two of us had a lovely Australian Shiraz, fruity and smooth, delicious! We all thoroughly enjoyed our meals. A member of staff called Carol was absolutely lovely! So cheerful and friendly, really made us feel at home, also Carol recommended the dessert of ‘Sticky Toffee pudding’, which was sensational! We had a really lovely afternoon with our friends. We can definitely recommend the Ravenstone Manor Restaurant. Wendy & Derek From Lincoln xx

We ate in the restaurant for our evening meal whilst staying at Ravenstone Manor and thoroughly enjoyed it. The staff were friendly and helpful, the food was plentiful and extremely tasty and great value to boot.

Had good reports about this place and was recommended for its choice and quality of food so dropped by after a visit to Mirehouse. However, informed by staff only sandwiches available as the kitchen staff were prepping for the evening. He doubled checked and the only cooked food available was obviously out of the freezer - fish and chips, scampi and chips or chicken curry. I find it incredibly poor that an establishment of this standing had such a dismal choice at lunch time over a bank holiday weekend.

We ate here on Wednesday night, It was our first visit, and we had booked for a special anniversary, for which I had requested a window table with a view and was assured that would be reserved, It wasn't and when we arrived we found residents already using the requested tables. We finished up in the bar, which was OK but without the same glamour as the restaurant.

We had dinner here during our recent stay in Keswick. The staff at this restaurant were fantastic. I had a starter of crab and the cajun spiced Hake for mains and the wife had the scallops to start and duck for mains; we shared an orange panacotta for dessert. We thought the food was excellent in the way it was presented and in the flavour combinations. Pleased we tried this place, will return when we're next in the area.

Staff were all very friendly and helpful throughout our stay. It was a Great location and food was fantastic. Whilst dogs are allowed throughout, the hotel was so clean that you would not realise they were there. Had a great stay

My parter and I chose to dine in at this hotel while staying there for the night. So happy we did, lthough we only managed dinner. I chose Suet Steak Pie with veg and Basket of chips. My partner chose Chicken. I can only say bother were superb. The pie was full to the brim with steak and the gravy as so rich. The veg were cooked to perfection and chips were amazing. My partners chicken im told was delicious, only fault was we were both too full for dessert. Price was comparible with other establishments but we were both happy we chose to stay in. Very relaxed atmosphere and beautiful surroundings. Cant fault the food or service

We had a lovely dinner. Food was delicious; the staff were all extremely welcoming and attentive and seemed truly happy to have us. The decor is lovely. They have a very nice outdoor area where you can have drinks before dinner (or just have drinks). We shared the dining room with a sweet black lab and her humans.

We enjoyed a splendid meal with friends at the end of June. All meals (4) were very well cooked and served. We had fish as well as roasted meat dishes that pleased all of us. The deserts that followed were equally enjoyed and provided a perfect balance to the overall meal. There was a little time to wait for the first courses to be prepared, but that ensured all were served hot together. Will definitely recommend and return again soon.

We ate at the restaurant in this beautiful hotel whilst staying there. The food was outstanding. My husband had steak pie and I had the fillet of beef. Both were delicious. The staff were friendly and efficient and the decor very tasteful.

Popped in for a lunch time drink, and booked for the evening meal, being very impressed with the atmosphere. The dinner choices were plentiful, but my wife and I decided on the Tikka Marsaala.... very satisfying, and great quality of all the ingredients and side dishes. Great service, too!

On a hillside overlooking Bassenthwaite Lake, the Manor Hotel (distinct from the "Lodge" below which is completely separate) has a delightful view which the dining rooms overlook with broad windows; a very comfortable room with contemporary furnishings, but in synch with the historic hotel interiors. The food is a change for this area, more like highest quality home-cooking than the more commonly-found pretentious restaurants (often over-reaching their skill levels making dinner more a show than substance) or feel-good, fell-walkers café's & "bistros" which are mostly mediocre, or worse, and rarely relaxing.

I wasn't sure what to expect when I saw there had been no reviews on here for a few months - now I only wish I'd gone sooner!

We were travelling back after NYE and needed somewhere for lunch - the Ravenstone Dining Room did not disappoint! Really great selection of sandwiches, salads and soups as well as main meals. The food was beautiful and the view was stunning. We didn’t want to ever leave!

We stayed here for 2 nights and had breakfast twice and an evening meal once during our stay. Breakfast both days was cooked to order and was hot and tasty when it came. The hotel also offers cereals and toast on a buffet with fruit and yoghurt. The evening meal was equally good. They offer traditional English fare and seafood dishes. The portions, we thought, were great sizes (almost American in size). The food was fresh, warm and home cooked. I would certainly recommend it.

We had a cooked breakfast every morning, with a variety on offer, and served fresh and hot, after we had enjoyed their own recipe muesli. Outstanding Eggs Benedict! The bistro served a wide range of dishes, and the service was excellent.

A wide range of locally sourced meats and fish cooked to perfection and well presented.The staff were attentive without being obtrusive and the range of drinks in the bar were impressive.

Had another wonderful meal can't praise the service and quality of the food . From start to finish the whole experience was perfect.

Whilst staying at local Parkergate cottage we visited The Dining Room with our 2 dogs. We were all made to feel very welcome and the food was delicious. We finished off our evening in the lounge. A delightful evening.

Good quality food - nice choice with also specials and great service. The views over the lake was very impressive.

My wife & I ate here for her birthday, not the largest selection, but all the dishes on offer were very well presented. The staff were very attentive, and we were made to feel welcome. My wife had the pork and I had the traditional fish & chips. Both were very nice and so was the dessert ( creme brûlée ) We would definitely return on our next visit to this beautiful part of the world.

We would definitely eat in the dining room every night we were in the Lake District. We always had the evening special dish. The venison steak was the best we have ever had.

Ate here for 3 nights and food was beautiful. Would not hesitate to return. The owners are very attentive and can't do enough for their guests. Can't wait to go back.

we had a fabulous meal with fabulous service martin and ivana could not do enough for us the service is excelent and the atmosphere is warm and welcoming just what you need after a hard day walking . we will definitely be back .👍

Another lovely evening meal with two excellent hosts, Martin and Ivana. The food was of superb quality and delicious. We do like the relaxed atmosphere and because we can take our dog it means we can take our time and enjoy.

Excellent food and service, and reasonably priced. We will certainly go back again, soon! Will have nice views over Bassenthwaite lake during daylight.

We have stayed in the hotel's holiday cottage for a week. We have dined at the restaurant a number of times. Meals and service from the owners were excellent Lovely atmosphere, restaurant comfortable and spacious. Highly recommend trying.

The Dining Room is the dining experience at Ravenstone Manor. Charming hosts, Martin and Ivana, welcome you to your evening meal and as you enter the room you have the choice of sitting by the windows on sumptuous red leather seating akin to the finest restaurants in the world to enjoy the panoramic views. They have a wonderful chef who prepares the excellent selection to perfection and if you are a pudding aficionado, the sticky toffee pudding is a must. There is a fine selection of wines and liquors to accompany your meal. 5 stars.

We had a great meal here and really enjoyed the food, restaurant and the service. It's one of those places that focuses on having a focused menu on a few excellent fresh meals cooked to a great standard, rather than some broadsheet style menu and meals you could better tourself at home. I thought the price was fair as well. We'd happily go back when next in the area.

The menu is simple but adequate with the addition of some specials and the food is delicious. The dining room is of a more modern layout than the Hotel which is a former Manor House with "grand " rooms and staircase. Service is excellent and on a very special "personal" level. Very good

All I can tell you is based on three breakfast, and dinners at this hotel. The food and service is second to none, one of the few places these days that now how to cook a steak properly, eating heaven.!!!

I had two wonderful meals at The Dining Room. Service was great - welcoming, warm and swift. The food is locally sourced and appropriate for the location and portions are very generous. The T-Bone Pork steak was excellent and I highly recommend the organic chicken liver pate and the home-made puddings.

First of all the chairs were very comfortable, but I also found myself feeling envious of the people sitting in the window on red leather banquettes. It's friendly and relaxed with some interesting art works - on one wall there's a huge piece which looks like an abstract painting but on closer inspection turns out to be a photograph.
