Lovely open plan, airy environment. Excellent choice of food from across the globe, and friendly, efficient staff.

Visited on a Friday lunchtime ,managed to get a table as they had a lot of bookings,are order was taken quickly and drinks arrived,we had sometime To wait for our food,however worth the wait,the burger was substantial and the pie great.Our deserts lovely,definitely will be returning

Ate here 3 May evening. Two people had fish and chips which were well below average. I had the Chinese beef which was absolutely disgusting. I wouldn't have served it to a dog!!! The beef was cut in huge chunks which was tough. Even the onions in the sauce were dreadful. I should have returned the meal but didn't want to cause a fuss. I have never, in my life, been presented with such awful, inedible food. Whoever the "chef" was last night needs to be sacked. Also, you might be dog friendly but I didn't particularly enjoy your dog being allowed to sit under the table next to ours perhaps waiting for left over food which I wouldn't have even given to "him" as the food wasn't fit to even give to a dog as I said above. There was an awful smell in the pub too. All round, absolutely terrible. Needless to say, we wouldn't put a foot inside this disgusting place ever again.

Called in for a full English plenty of seating order at the till waited about 20 min plenty of toast brown or white plus butter jam & marmalade full English consists of bacon hash brown black pudding sausages beans tinned or fresh tomatoes.I liked it all apart from the sausage will definitely recommend.

Had an amazing night tonight at the coach and horses definitely recommend it to anyone friendly staff good people in there enjoyed it

Great chips sadly that's where it ends...the lasagne looked nice but tastless not to mention expensive so wouldn't bother going again

Very nice fish and chips, First time trying these and happy we did, The fish and chips were cooked fresh and very hot,the peas and curry also very good and hot, All in all a superb fish and chip dinner

Straight off the bat - the dinner and breakfast was included in our room rate. If we actually had the pay the prices on the menu (£30 a main) then I'd probably have a dimmer view of the place. And certainly I wouldn't travel here and eat here if you aren't staying at the castle. But for a place to eat on a nice couples break at the castle it does the trick. The food is good, though not amazing. On breakfast, you order the cooked English Breakfasts items you want, and then you can select from a small continental buffet of cereals, yoghurt, croissants etc. Main issue was that the "vegetarian option" advertised on the menu was simply not ordering the bacon and sausages! Apparently they do usually have a vegetarian alternative.

Fantastic atmosphere and food it top notch,highly recommend for a nice chill out meal for all the family,DEFINITELY going back again staff are fab 👌

We were here for easter Sunday lunch and wow what a fabulous meal, everything was cooked to perfection from the vegetable being al dente to my wife's beef pink centre and my turkey being succulent. The young lady that's studying in York was polite, friendly and attentive.

Beautiful place, loads of history. Enjoy visiting for a short walk through the woods and gardens, then a nice bun and coffee ☕😁. Fully recommend a visit, Staff very friendly.

Wasn’t a planned visit, just passing by. But well worth the stop, piping hot home cooked Sunday roast. Lovely pleasant staff.

much much more lighting required especially in the actrual food area and some tables were very dark and forbidding

We've just had takeaway fish and chips with peas and they were INCREDIBLE ♥️ Definitely recommended!
