Friendly welcome and considerate staff. Good overnight stop for Motorhome, electric hook up and water all convenient, but toilet disposal a little tricky into manhole cover. Good, reasonably priced pub grub and generous weekend offer. Thank you- we’ll be back.

Have previously called here for a drink, we decided to come for Sunday lunch and were extremely disappointed. It was the worst carvery we have ever had. Served in some kind of back room, we were not allowed to put our own vegetables on, as is usual with a carvery. My partner was not happy with the fact that the chef picked up the roast potatoes in his (gloved) hands and put them on his plate. The choice of veg was very limited and the peas were mushy, which i have never known on a carvery. We couldnt even put our own gravy on. They obviously want to limit the amount one gets as our portions were meagre. The waitress was absolutely lovely and professional. The meal was not hot and the roast potatoes seemed old and were virtually inedible - dry , hard and like leather. We had to request some new ones but suspected they were merely been heated up ones, not much better than the originals. This was the first time we had gone out for Sunday lunch for ages and travelled a long way to it but we certainly will never dine here again. As i said, the worst carvery i have ever had, by far.

1 Staff members attitude and then no response when I raised it. We hoped this would be our new local Sunday lunch spot. Sadly, Screaming at a 2 year old is not appropriate. Then when another little girl said “excuse me, she’s just a baby” Staff member responded with “I don’t care” She was stood on a very low wall.

We called at Kellington Manor for a late lunch after hearing glowing reports from our friends. We were not disappointed, what a friendly welcome, and totally dog friendly as well. The Manor is tastefully decorated and bright and fresh looking on entering. The staff all seemed very friendly, we ordered some drinks and chose lunch from their 2 for 1 menu. The food was excellent, some had carvery and said it was like a home cooked sunday roast, I had pie which was a deep steak and ale pie with a flaky pastry very rich but very tasty lots of meat. Overall the experience was terrific, staff friendly, food excellent and well cooked. I would absolutely recommend the Manor and will certainly be calling again.

We was coming back from being away and we wanted a dinner so we called in at KELINGTON MANOR AND YES BEST PLACE TO CALL When we got to the carpark a member of staff came out and told us that the landlord was fetching a walker for my sister so she would not have to use her walking stick This brought tears to my eyes as you dont get this service every where , I felt like Royalty We was took to a suitable table and after a while our order was taken The FOOD WAS PIPPING HOT AND TASTED GOOD THE SERVICE WAS EXCELLENT AND THE BILL WAS REASONABLE FOR WHAT WE HAD I TOLD THE LANDLORD I WOOD FECTH THE WALKER BACK WHEN WE HAD GOT MY SISER IN THE CAR, But he said no and came with us to the carpark and helped my sister in the car the only thing missing was the Red carpet , we was treated like royalty Dont go on the bad reports try it yourself so glad we went there and yes cant wait to go back

While at a big family dinner today my young son brought in 4 flowers from the grass area for his great nana. The landlord came over to complain that he tore up half the garden! I went out to check on this supposed garden and it was some wild flowers growing along a fence and there was loads of flowers. As we were due to leave an elderly couple stopped my boy outside and said "ow so you're the child that tore up half the flowers". When questioned tge landlord had be slagginh my son of to all his regulars in the bar!!!! Absolutely disgusting behaviour from adults! My boys were told to stop running OUTSIDE by the landlady!!! They were outside in the open! As we were packing up my kids helped me to the car with the balloons but the landlord came strutting over to tell my kids not to touch the balloons because if they popped they'd put a dust over the tables. A few people not in our group commented to me how the landlord and landlady didn't seen to like my kids and were intentionally targeting them. We've heard they were horrible to children but I didn't want to believe it until I saw it first hand today with my own children. They were OK whilst they were taking our big parties money but once the food was paid for and the drinking slowed down they decided to embarrass and humiliate my children. YOU CAN'T CALL YOURSELF FAMILY FRIENDLY IF YOU BULLY KIDS!!!!!

Not too much but just enough! We didn't leave anything....including the delicious sponge puddings! Price was very reasonable. Went for Sunday carvery, asked for an extra yorkshire pudding, I mentioned that would pay extra, but was told it would be £4.50 extra. Glad I didn't pay. Food was lukewarm. My friend received a medium meal instead of large. When I asked for bill the owner came over, he demanded I pay £21.00, he didn't give me a receipt to check. I mentioned to him about the medium meal instead of a large. He said very rudely you have had a large meal and demanded for me to pay the £21.00, still not giving receipt. I asked what we were paying for, he then read the bill out to us, which had other items on there which we never had, when questioned him about it. He told us to leave and never come back. He was very rude, aggressive and abrupt.

Please Please avoid at all cost.Went to this so called restaurant on Sunday 4th October, what i huge disaster, as the restaurant was not too busy, didn't expect the service to be as bad as it was.Ordered the food waited a while,(expected a delay due the the new restrictions, but hells bells i didn't expect the food we all received arriving cold,( the owner blamed it on the Covid 19) this was sent back, waited a while for it to be replaced, still arrived cold and half the potions of vegetables that was first served. The staff must have noticed the disappointment in our reaction, for the owner and staff disappearing until our bill was given to us, paid £56 for the privilege to been served food twice cold and left. And what miffs me big time, no apology was given from the owner. All in all a very bad experience. Never again.

The owner was rude to my friend and I, who lives with me, rudely yelling that we could not go in the pub together, but yet there was three people stood at a table in a huddle(which is there was no distancing). she was going on about social distancing but not one of them had gloves or a visor neither a mask ,so my friend stud out side whilst I got served my friend simply said we live together so we should be allowed in together and she turned around and said do not backchat me as if we were five-year- olds. My friend and I are both in are early twenties and so my friend refused to buy anything from her as she rudely came out and told my friend that she could go in and my friend said no it’s okay thank you and because my friend said no tshe sent her husband out having a go at us All. Her husband always walking around with no shoes on Whilst people was eating and she had the cheek to tell my husband to put a top on even though we was stood outside! i just think it was wrong even The bar staff look disgusted if I’m right by her face reaction.

Called here to pitch up for the night in a caravan due to high winds. Warm welcome and clean pub, friendly staff. Place is a bit bright, could do with some softer bulbs in, no real on that I could see but plenty of keg beers to choose from, food was good and tasty. Not a massive menu but you’d find something to eat. Caravan pitch not ideal if honest, four spots behind some big trees and difficult to manoeuvre round of you have a long van, no lighting and quite muddy. Apart from this a nice little stay and would definitely return.

Where do I start with how awful this place is, the owner and her husband were rude and aggressive when I complained about the fact we were waiting an hour between main and dessert because they had booked too many people for the amount of staff. The food was undercooked and the mashed potato looked processed. Overall it was terrible. I am in shock looking at other bad reviews and find I am correct in my judgement about the owners when they are responding to bad reviews in such a rude and aggressive manner. I rest my case. First time in this pub/restaurant and it was the worst experience of my life. We sat down for our food and the owners were just staring at us like we were doing something wrong. Me and a couple of friends went in for a nice meal as they had just got back from their holiday - the food was good, but the owners and the bar woman were horrible to the staff and to the customers, i heard the owners slagging off the customers and some of the staff, which is very unprofessional of them. I have been to many pubs around this area and this was by far the worst for customer service. Would not recommend. The pub in Whitley and surrounding areas (Askern) are however the best ones we have been to.

Afternoon tea was brought out promptly and consisted of 4 finger sandwiches with ample fillings, hand made crisps, fruit cake, shortbread, berries and a scone with cream and jam. It was Sunday carvery but I’m fussy as don’t eat meat but do like fish so was offered Salmon. No problem and I didn’t feel a burden. Yes we used the tastecard as you pay on orderingbut in all honesty I felt we cheated the business as the food is worth every penny. Generous portions of meat for the large carvery and last bed my Salmon and sauce. Veg was fresh and plentiful and lots of choice. The Yorkshire puddings were lush. We attended on a Sunday with our Tastecard as we do pretty much every week and to our surprise was told that this time tastecard only covers two people and not up to 6 as the app states. Not only does it state this on the app, it also says 2 for 1 with tastecard for up to 6 people on their OWN WEBSITE. Better yet it even says up to 6 on my Meetkat Movies 2 for 1 app. We simply asked the owner why this was we were not rude not horrible and he was just the rudest person ever. He made my stepmom so upset I will definitely not be returning. We got up and walked out. I would avoid this place at all costs, the food isn’t even that nice it’s below average and that’s probably why they’re on tastecard in the first place! Go to Cobblers in Pontefract. The tagliatelle with ham and mushroom was extremely tasty, plentiful and well presented. All the meals were piping hot. The desserts were equally lovely too.We will certainly be back to eat here again - very soon too. Would Highly recommend - I am just annoyed that I have not been before how I have missed this gem I will never know!it looks great for parties etc too. We had a great afternoon

Stayed 2 nights on the campsite; facilities basic but adequate. The welcome was tremendous bottom all the staff and owners and the food was excellent! Imagination applied throughout the menu, portions were generous, food was hot and served with a smile and a friendly word. Thoroughly enjoyed or time there and would have no hesitation in staying again or popping in for food if just passing. Thanks to all for making us feel so welcome...... and keep that rhubarb crumble cold for me!!!

I have camped at KM several times as a base for visiting my Mum in a local care home. Camping is cheap, and has everything I need. Great food and a good selection of beers. The staff are friendly and welcoming, and I have always been made to feel like a "local" by staff and customers alike, not to mention Morgan and Murphy the labradoodles. I love going there!

Good Sunday roast in pleasant surroundings, meat was lovely and all the trimmings only reason why it's a 3 is that for a baby plate you have to chose between veg or Yorkshire pudding which is of and the adult meals only come with one Yorkshire ! Might just be me being a Yorkshireman ha all in all we go at least once a month but would love more then one yorkshire. Top tip - book prior to attending !!

We eat here fairly regularly, usually for Sunday lunch. There is a choice of at least three meats, and loads of different veg. I'd never had mushy peas with roast before eating here, but it really works! The meats are tasty and I can recommend the cauliflower or broccoli cheese. One of the few places where the mash is creamy.Sometimes they have specilality ciders, the rhubarb one is lovely. Puddings are good, but don't usually have room. The owners Sue and Andrew and all the staff are great and very welcoming. Lovely atmosphere.

...was to be had on Tuesday afternoon. The offer of two meals for the price of one was too tempting to ignore, and we were well pleased with our choice of two large roast beef carveries at £7.50 (should have been £15).Two pints of their excellent Carling lager didn't even take the cost up to £13 in total so next time it will be puddings as well.

Been to Kellington Manor a few times now all private parties.Great function room and nice food. On our last visit we decided to stay over night rather than drive home. They had a room available and we were told it was a twin with a shared bathroom, but at £25 for the night for 2 we were happy enough. The room however was on the top floor, very small and in need of not just a makeover but a really good clean.Carpet was filthy and so were the bowls and cups left for our breakfast, which by the way was boxes of cereal and tea/coffee free, nice thought.Speaking to other guests in our party and they seemed to have good rooms on the second floor and everywhere else seemed very clean so I guess we were just unlucky.Yes I would stay here again but in a lower room.Garden is in need of some TLC as it doesn't give a good impression when pulling up.

Went for a family meal as the our normal place is getting refurbished and I can't wait till it's finished as we won't be back again soon, It's all very out of date and uninteresting, I assume this will suit some people but from a place that's supposed to be 4star I can't see how, as not one of us could eat much. It was all very ready meal type of food with little flavour, seem to run on the principal of more is better. It's not..service was good and I will say it was cheap but still was hoping for better.

We stopped here for a late lunch/early tea. We ordered a three course curry meal each. Poppadums and pickles lovely, starters good, the bhajis were great. Main meal ? What was it? We ordered Korma this did not look like korma, smell like korma or taste like korma. It was a weird greeny colour, tasted more thai-ish, and didn't smell of anything in particular. The rice was very fragrant too. It was weird looking/tasting and we would not recommend the curries. Left most of it as there was no point trying to eat whatever it was pretending to be.

Visited with friends and have to say how good the meal was. Quick friendly service and the food was very good. Good sized bar and plenty of room inside and out to eat. Only thing that let it down was the outside of the property could do with a bit of a tidy, this could put some off.

Been for Sunday lunch many times .Great place ,brilliant hosts ,nothing to much trouble .Very good selection of meats and vegetables ,great value for money, you can have small ,medium or large ,this determines how many slices of meat you have ,if you can eat the large portion ,you have done really well. We always book ,but if you just turn up ,it wont be long before they find you a table ,just have a drink at the bar. But I would say If you are a large party ,ring up first. So if you like a good old fashioned Sunday lunch for between £6 and £7 give it a try ,you wont be disappointed.PS . The sweets are spot on as well.

Popped in for tea with my Son as we really fancied home cooked fish & chips. Welcome as always was warm, drinks at the bar and shown to our seats and the order made. The fish was perfectly cooked, the batter crisp and the side dishes of chips & mushy peas a delight to eat. Portion size was perfect, not too many chips with a fish that would choke a shark. Highly recommend & to make it even better Saturday night is Steak night !!! More reviews tomorrow ...

Went to Kellington Manor upon a recommendation. It's an hour by car frome home so was hoping it lived up to expectation. Wow! It did not disappoint. We arrived half hour early and although the staff were having their lunch it was no trouble to them to serve us drinks at the bar. We were quickly seated and our order taken by very polite and friendly staff. Meals are all cooked freshly to order and although there were five of us each ordering different meals, all were brought to the table piping hot easily within half an hour.Prices were very good too. I upgraded my excellent melt in the mouth rib-eye steak for a very reasonable supplement, my wife had one of the most expensive items on the menu, two of our party had desserts and including a host of drinks the bill came to only £76.The drinks alone were £15. The two more expensive meals came to over £30 so that just shows how reasonable it is.The chef even came to our table personally to find out if all was okay. Which it was.We were overcharged slightly in that we ordered a roast dinner which, according to the menu included the dessert and then we were charged for the dessert as well but we were that impressed with the meals and the friendly service and the whole dining experience that it was not even mentioned. In fact I rounded the bill up to £85 such was my delight with our meals.I am not impressed easily but I fully recommend you go out of your way to find this place. We will be back.

Visited for a late Saturday lunch after reading all the glowing reviews and we're glad we did. Welcoming, friendly staff and a really comfortable atmosphere. The food was delicious, piping hot and well presented. Reasonable prices, good portions and polite service. Worth every one of the five stars. Just out of sight off the A645 down Whales Lane, it can't get much passing trade, only word of mouth recommendations, I suppose. I would imagine it gets plenty of those! Great place.

Excellent food, very friendly staff. I visited with my daughter on a whim as we were both hungry on our way home from football. We didn't even know if they were serving food and was immediately given a table, the prices are very reasonable and both our steaks were cooked to perfection. It was a very good experience and we will definitely be visiting again, thank you.

Came here with my husband for Sunday Lunch, lovely food and lovely waitresses but nasty boss (the scary blonde woman at the bar) constantly telling off the young waitresses for silly things and speaking about them behind their backs when they walked by, felt bad for the young workers who looked exhausted anyway. 10/10 for food, 1/10 for friendliness.

Having stayed at the camp site with EHU for two nights we can thoroughly recommend this as a hotel and a camp site. The owners are so friendly and accommodating and nothing is too much trouble for them. Peaceful two nights camping with good electric supply and ate both nights in the restaurant, exceptional value and hearty portions served with a smile!! We have stayed here before, a couple of years ago and it was very good then and it's still very good. Well done to Sue and her team.

Been here several times now for the Sunday carvery and as yet we have not had a bad experience, the pub is always busy on a Sunday and booking is recommended, even when you book you have to wait which I personally don't mind. The food is good and there is always a good selection of veg and meats, the staff are very caring and are always willing to help and make your visit here very welcoming. The pub and food is way above what you would get in one of your standard chain pubs and the food is cooked fresh and not your microwave ready meals that the common chains provide. all in all a very good experience and we will certainly be visiting again and again.

Disappointed. Firstly we arrived, the car park was busy. Seemed people park there that aren't visiting the pub. Very small for the establishment. We had to drive around twice to eventually find a parking spot. Our drinks order was taken quickly and then our food order was taken. Great 👍 The food came. The fish and chips was a good size portion. The roasts on the other hand. Very thin pieces of meat. Large yorkies. OK veg. Now the roast potatoes... I'm not often disappointed by roast dinner veggies. However these roast potatoes were the worst I've ever tasted. My knife wouldn't even cut them the skin was like leather! I have no idea how they managed to get them like that. Inedible! The service was slow and seemed stretched for the amount of tables. We asked for a dessert menu and one was never brought, after finishing our drinks we left without ordering. Would not rush to come back for the food.
