Thoroughly enjoyed our tapas and drinks. Friendly service and pleasant surroundings.

What a lousy place for service. Walked in, met by a wait to be seated sign. Place was not busy. Waited 4 to 5 minutes. No one came. I found my own seat, had a look at the menu, and went to the bar. Staff don't serve people in order of arrival. Poor training there. Had sign on the bar to inform & ask about allergies. Enquired about additives. Was told don't know. Couldn't leave the bar to find out. Another member of staff confirmed they didn't know ingredients and didn't offer to supply a list. I wasn't directed to the QR code / website for allergies. Didn't address the legal list of allergens, even though I was requesting info on other additives that are known triggers for vestibular migraine (nitrates, e.g., M&S & Naked bacon sold without nitrates). Not supplying this list I believe against food standards. So no choice but to leave. Absolutely shocking poor service. Avoid if possible. Definitely, if you have any food allergies.

A great place to visit on either a weekday or weekend. I've always enjoyed my visits to this place whether that has been with my young family or for a drink with my husband

Booked a Christmas meal, on the day we turned up. No booking of it at all. We had emails about it. Asked if we had to pre-order, no. Then said we should have pre-ordered. Think the staff should need retraining and should know what to do with bookings

I ordered the cowboy smash burger with chips and onion rings, and the chips were overcooked, and the onion rings were basically just a pool of oil the burger was nice and i got a coke that even after getting it changed had no flavour. The staff were great the atmosphere was nice

Food was really nice. The atmosphere was non existent and the service was terrible! We used the app/website in the end and even then had payment issues. I think we had two items spilled into the table in about 10 minutes by the server.

Did not eat here just popped in for a drink. It has a nice layout, a good choice of drinks, and very friendly staff.

Love it here. Hofffmeister beer and food is great!. As a bonus it is also dog friendly.

I ordered a breakfast explaining no onions as I have a food intolerance. Kitchen even asked the lady down stairs who took our order about the onions and she came upstairs to check and explain yes I have an intolerance Breakfast looks great coffee was lovely. Bite i .to the hash browns and it's laced with onions. Lady who served us asked if very was OK we said no and explained about the onions. She didn't believe me so we asked the chef who said yes onions are in the hash browns. Nothing was offered to be taken off my food and a feeble extracted apology was given. How is this supposed to be a safe place to eat or a good place to eat !!!! The kitchen should k ow what is in the food they produce. They could kill someone with an allergy and it's pretty bad for me if I eat onion's. This should have been added as an allergy on my request. AFTER THE OWNERS RESPONSE, saying basically there is nothing i can do, I have reported to the food standards department and this company will be investigated for serving me something I requested I couldnt eat, especially as the staff in the kitchen didnt know what is in the food they are serving this food must be bought in. I cook food aborad in a chalet and i would never do this to my customers, i think its appauling that they think they can get away with doign this and then thier attitude to me as a customer with thier reply to my review.

Lovely food and atmosphere, best bit is you can come with your dogs! Have blankets and snacks for them!

Qent to barco for family meal as they have a good gluten free menu for dil, I ordered buttermilk chicken which I couldn't eat as there was that much grease coming out of it when I cut into it, the coleslaw portion wasn't worth having, everything is either fried or microwave won't be going again

Great laal place, was visiting family and we decided to go here on the back of a recommendation, pleased we did. Great food, friendly staff and a good atmosphere 👌. Recommend you give it a go.

Nice food, but didn't have enough time to enjoy it properly

Appalling to be honest!! Waited 20 minutes for an in app drink purchase. still had to get it myself. Charges 6 quid for a pint and 5.60 for a small prosecco (125ml). I expect that in York not Selby. Barco need to sort out services especially charging such a premium.

Great service and breakfast was great plenty of food and not greasy

our two dogs were approached by another customer with her dog asking to say hello. i politely let her know my dogs were nervous of strange dogs and asked her not to bring her dog to our table but she refused to listen and approached them anyway with her little dog on a retractable lead (whilst my dogs were tied up on short leads to the table leg) telling me that her dog was friendly though. my one dog jumped on the chair and was shaking while the other barked to warn the dog away. a member of staff came over - i was expecting to control the other customer and the situation and told me "we have a three bark policy so you have to leave, and your dog can't be on the chair"... it genuinely would've been laughable had my dogs not been at ongoing risk of harm and in severe distress! i explained what had happened (despite it being witnessed by the whole cafe) and the member of staff just walked off disinterested. we were absolutely disgusted and angered by how the situation was handled. if my one dog hadn't of jumped on the chair he definitely would've been bitten/injured. we were warned not to come here by the staff in York where we had been staying and where our dogs were adored, and i wish we'd listened to them. you have no right to be a "dog friendly" establishment if you can't manage or understand the dogs who you apparently "welcome". 😤 and we encountered many other dogs with respectful, well educated owners in the cafe so it's not me or my hounds being oversensitive. our two young children also witnessed this whole scenario and we're very upset by what had happened - equally with the "friendly, desperate dog owner" and with the staff who behaved so awfully.

Great service and lovely cosy decor, a nice place to go. It even has a play corner for the children and an activity sheet on their menu.

Gluten free friendly as always. Was quite a quiet time whilst we ate early evening. Must say one member of staff stood out as a very hard worker compared to the other girl working the floor with her. Niamh was fantastic. Made sure everywhere was clean and tidy and literally never stopped compared to some colleagues around her this evening. We had a slight problem and she had no qualms about sorting it very quickly for us. Was very friendly and helpful thanks for the great experience.

Nice little place. Relaxed atmosphere, and welcoming staff. Tables not on top of each. Child and dog friendly.

Visited today (30 October) and the staff were lovely and menu was great for GF options with its own menu. There was that much I didn’t know what to pick, normally there is only a few options. I had the gluten free smashed avocado with streaky bacon. They are also dog friendly and so my dog Ted was getting fussed by staff and others customers.

We (my friends and family collectively) love this place. Order from your table using the QR code. Very relaxed atmosphere. Decent herbal tea collection. I eat a pescatarian diet and this place caters to that perfectly. It will be a regular place for me.

The jewel in the crown! Barco Lounge has such a trendy chilled vibe, great food & very attentive staff. This place will leave a positive lasting impression with you. A real gem, just off the Selby high street.

came in the other day for lunch which was amazing, was served by Callum who was an asset to Barco, really went out of his way to serve us, with a smiley face all round! will 100% be coming back.

In my opinion this is the best Caffe in Selby, lovely atmosphere nicely decorated, just been today and found out all the proper coffee cups have been replaced with cheap cups and saucers, why would you. Really spoils it not a good move.

Food well presented with plenty of flavour. Latte very nice and hot. Will be back. PS love the hanging lampshades upstairs.

Called in on the off chance, what a lovely vibe. The food was great and the service was exceptional. Such a relaxed atmosphere, think we stayed too long it was that relaxing.

Very good and tasty food, well presented. Unfortunately coffee is served only 3/4 cup full. Why?

I should have been suspicious when you pay first. I had pancakes, my friend had avocado on toast etc. it was a small portion despite the price, she said it was ‘ok’. The pancakes appeared to me to have been warned up, I couldn’t eat them, they were like rubber and tasteless accompanied by bacon which tasted ok but was not crisp along with a tiny portion of maple syrup. I said to the young waiter that the pancakes had just been reheated and were inedible, he did ask if I wanted something else but I’d already paid for the pancakes and who wants to re order from a kitchen after you’ve criticised them? I expected to be offered a refund as I’d not eaten more than a couple of mouthfuls. Had I not already paid I wouldn’t have.

Part of a chain, one of the nicest places to go in selby currently. Good service, Peroni on draught would be a nice addition. Good food and a good selection.

Nice outdoor area for a drink when weather permits but not an interesting choice of beers on tap.

Cool, Cozy , relaxed retreat. Delicious latte selection & cakes. Not eaten here yet so can't review on the food but it looks nicely cooked and presented with decent sized portions.

We have been to Barco about 6 times. The tapas is first class. Never fails to deliver. Service is brilliant. Met the chef tonight and lovely guy. Have recommended to lots of people . Thanks for complimentary pud 😊

A nice late evening meal with my wife, spur of the moment decision to try out a place we hadn't been. We had 3 tapas each, all dishes were tasty, hot and enjoyable. Good drinks choice Will visit again

Pleasant bistro with good service. Menu could be better varied but the food quality is good if slightly overpriced. Decent choice of drinks including teas and coffee. Worth a visit.

Very disappointed Nice venue Menu looked great and we were really looking forward to it but what arrived wasn’t great ! Drink delivered to wrong table Second drink overfilled and spilling on the table. Had to ask for napkins Ordered chips which were supposed to have three cheeses, including mozzarella but chips arrived with sprinkles of cheese. Asked for replacement which wasn’t much better All in all such a disappointment 😢

Great place for a relaxed brunch! Lovely fresh wholesome food, great coffee, chilled atmosphere, we are regulars in the "lounges" and wouldn't hesitate to recommend.

First time at Barco Lounge (although I have eaten at other Lounge restaurants) - what a lovely place. Friendly and knowledgeable staff, and as a bonus lots of dogs!

Went For an inpromptu Lunch . The food was meagre in portion and not very flavoursome perhaps it was the meal I chose which was buttermilk Chicken with fries and Slaw( pretty tasteless)

Barco has a laid back ambience with welcoming and efficient staff. The food was very tasty and well presented. With a mix of seating options: outside, sofas and tables it fits the bill for informal meeting ups.

Had a group meal here for a celebration - the staff were and ace and very accommodating. The food was beaut and there was an impressive amount of gluten free options! Would deffo recommend and come back again ✌🏼

Glacial service, ordered at the table app, this generally is efficient, but it took over 20 minutes for a drink only! Didn't order food as couldn't be bothered to wait the extra time this would take. Not the staff, they are busy busy busy, just not enough staff on, which is poor management. I have rated the food as 4 without trying, in order to be fair. As a side note, the place is not full, so there are no reasons for this other than staffing.

Just been for Sunday brunch. Food was excellent as usual. Most staff are really friendly and helpful but one girl was very miserable and didn't smile or speak when bringing our drinks. There is no dress code and some of the staff are very scruffy. However this morning the place was full of families with small children, there were 2 tables where the kids were continually screaming, shouting and running round and one family had their kids climbing all over the settee, shouting and running about. It was impossible to hear our own conversation over all the racket and the loud music and spoilt our morning. The staff should be able to tell people to control their kids or leave. It's a bar not a playground.

Second time ordering a takeaway from Burger Lounge and again it was absolutely delicious. It was on time and hot. Best garlic mayo EVER! The burgers are so juicy.

Visited with some friends for cake and hot drinks. Everybody was happy with what they had. The staff were friendly, pleasant and courteous. Relaxed atmosphere. Have been to a few Lounges now and all have been great. We actively look out for one wherever we go

Came here today (Saturday 18th of may) with the partner and had the best meal and cocktails. Lovely dinner and drinks!! The food came 10mins after ordering!!

Great service, staff very friendly and welcoming. Comfortable atmosphere to relax and talk with friends and family. The food isn't great, but is edible and I would go back again.

A really unique looking cafe bistro. The decor inside is fantastic with a large outside seating area. We stopped by for breakfast and coffee and it was great as was the service.

Went for breakfast/brunch. Hubby had a large breakfast, I had the Miami brunch. Nice food, good service and a nice atmosphere.

First time here, I ordered a breakfast. They put seasoning on the egg , which next time will ask for them not too. Staff very friendly. Although told later, by a friend, that there was treats water and a blanket for my dog.

Called in by chance while visiting Selby and what a find! Really like this place. Lovely decor inside and a brilliant menu, especially the big gluten free choice on offer, which was perfect for me. I certainly wasn't disappointed with the food at all. A very enjoyable meal. Without doubt I will be visiting again soon. Keep up the good work!

3rd time I have been and always great. Friendly staff, welcoming and lovely food. Great menu with lots of choices. I'm a very fussy eater and usually find 2 or 3 things on a whole menu. At Barco Lounge there's loads. Each time the food has been lovely. I have a friend who is gluten free who I'll be taking as they have an expensive GF menu.

Visited mid-morning on a Friday for coffee with friends, friendly staff and lovely coffee. Came back later for lunch with husband who had breakfast and said one of the best he’d had and I had spicy Bombay mushroom soup with bread which was vegan and GF and was excellent. Will certainly visit again to sample other items on the menu. Lots of choice for vegan and GF and I’m not either. Lovely relaxed atmosphere. Highly recommend.

As a coeliac on a gluten free diet the lounges are brilliant. The food tonight was sublime and the dessert was divine although the squirty cream wasn't very tasty. Staff are always great. Sadly they slipped up adding someone else's bill to ours!

Paid £12.75 for a buffet, sorry but it wasn't worth the money at all....

Lovely atmosphere, food a little more expensive than normal but food is lovely 😋 also cater very well for those allergies, I am coeliac and Barco has a full GF munu, now you don't see that often!

Best burger I had in a long time, highly recommend chilly brisket burger, was about to order 2nd one :) friendly staff as it should be. Will be back soon again

Wheelchair accessible nice big clean toilet,table for wheelchair relaxing atmosphere mam had roses truffle chicken mushrooms broccoli stems cappachino.mam eats what she can and I finish it off,we where both full still at tea time.food was excellent and service even though they were busy even got door for us when leaving.will definitely go again.

Clean , friendly staff, great place to meet up or sit quietly on a comfy seat drink coffee and read a book. Lovely ambience, great food. Has a totally gluten free menu in addition to gluten containing food. We had tapas which was beautifully cooked. The restaurant is dog friendly and doggies have their own bar with water bowls and snacks. Definitely going back

Came for breakfast today, the service was excellent, the food was unbelievably good, and the coffee hit a million times better. Best bacon sandwiches and vegan menu in Selby, Thank you Nicky, you rock and made my day so much better thank you. Will be returning many times in good spirit.

Food was okay but cold. The staff here can be rude and abrupt.

Great vegan food both here and at Ponto Lounge, I highly recommend the Big Vegan Breakfast, it’s not cheap but it’s huge and everything on it tastes amazing. No idea what vegan sausages they use but both my partner and I love them, bacon pieces seem to be Vivera which always go down well, but the whole thing is just perfect. Will definitely be returning for the odd treat as it’s a little pricey to be there too often (mostly cause I don’t think I can ever order anything other than the Big Vegan Breakfast 👀), but so worth it. Not a huge wait and good variety of coffee syrups & vegan milk options, soya comes at no extra charge which is always appreciated

We go to a lot of the loungers as we work around the country. This was one of the better ones. A couple of mishaps with the kitchen not reading the notes properly but all in all the food was nice and the service was polite and attentive. Would definitely return
