Has been cleaned up and looks much better. Unfortunately, you can get more than a pint and a bag of crisps here. People were coming in to score and staff are aware. Sitting area out front is nice to people watch and the weird comings and goings in Taddy.

We watched the England match at this pub the landlord was lovely and there was food at half time, they had cancelled the bus back to our hotel which meant we needed to catch the last bus 22.55 which wasn’t confirmed the pub landlord did everything he could to help us get a taxi and allowed us to wait inside the pub until the taxi came.

Just called for a quick pint, happy days.

Used to have a couple of decent hand pulled ales now it's just rubbish generic lagers and ciders. Time to enter the 21st century!

Great traditional Sunday lunch served in good time with nice veg. Staff went out of their way to make our visit more comfortable. Well worth a detour off the major roads.

Nice town pub serving excellent value food, I only popped in for a lunch and had the Lasagne which came with chips and a side salad. Very nice all round.

We popped in for lunch as visiting the area. We are so glad we did. We had the most amazing steak pie and chips ever! Homemade pie, packed full with hand cut ‘proper’ chips, served hot on a hot plate all with extra gravy. Really friendly welcome too. Wish we lived nearer!!

Best pub in tadcaster, conveniently bang next to main bus stop, way too easy to slip in for a sneaky pint while the coastliner provides their usual piss poor services

A solid pub lunch - the highlight was definitely the amazing sticky toffee pudding with heaps of toffee sauce and ice cream.

What a fabulous little pub in the heart of Tadcaster. Myself and my Well-being cafe were treated to the best 3 course Christmas dinner. The staff were amazing, very patient and accommodating to all of us. ( as none of us could remember what we ordered, lol) Great value for money and lovely friendly atmosphere. Well done, you should be very proud. Thank You.

Came with husband for Sunday dinner and had beautiful turkey and pork dinners. Great value and service from friendly staff. Highly recommended. We will return.

Had Sunday lunch here ,the plate was full, included Yorkshire pudding roast potatoes plenty of meat and veg. Really good value. Waitress was very attentive. All in all a lovely Sunday lunch with a friend. Definitely recommend

Had my step fathers wake here. The management arranged everything for us. Staff were really nice. Great outdoor seating and reasonably priced drinks. Provided a great send off for us. Couldn't have asked for more.

Great atmosphere and lovely staff

My cousin got the 3 meat dinner, ( beef, chicken and pork with crackling), myself and my Uncle got the beef dinner. Home made Yorkshire Puddings, roast potatoes and mashed potatoes. A separate dish of fresh veg - cauli, carrots and cabbage - cooked to perfection, none of your 'ping food mush'. Would highly recommend it. Great food and service.

Odd pub. Very much for the locals. Full of very drunk people when we went. Won't go back.

Clean and well presented pub good food and beer

Came here for Sunday lunch with friend's, the service was absolutely terrible, the food was pretty basic and tiny portions, my friend had to wait 20 minutes for his pint after asking twice, no cutlery was giving with our deserts had to again ask twice, when asked for the bill was told quite rudley by the waitress if you want to pay go to the bar, needles to say certainly won't be going back here again,

Great food at reasonable price. just enough on menu as some places have far too much to choose from. Bar staff and waitress was very friendly and the food came out within 15 minutes.

Not been here for quite a while, thought we would give it a try for lunch. Arrived about 1.15 pm. Large family group in, also group of 4. We ordered drinks and sat down, barman said he would be with us in a short while. We decided what to eat and waited and waited and waited for barman to take our order he did so after 25 mins. We had starters (soup and pate) which were very good. Then had lasagne and a burger. We cannot fault the food which was very good but the service was fairly poor, the temperature in the pub was very low (I was very cold, even put my coat back on) and there was no atmosphere. I will say it was a cold day but it was nearly as cold inside as out. We would normally have had a coffee but could not wait to get home to warm up. In spite of the good food we will not be in a hurry to return.

The second time of calling for lunchtime snacks, only to find it's closed, even the website give it as open. Website needs to be updated.

Great place! I had to take a virtual meeting and what better back drop than a blue leather Chesterfield sofa! Lovely setting, drinks were brilliant (try the Sam Smith's ale/lager), and it was lovely to see the bar staff greeting and warmly welcoming in a disabled customer. The next time we're in Taddy we're sure to be back 😊

Lovely friendly pub with great food

Popped in on spec as passing through. Was really pleasantly surprised by the quality of food, especially when the term ‘home made’ is used… well the chicken liver pate was homemade & absolutely delicious. The scampi & chip was really nice with spot on cooking. Really nice find & very clean

Dropped in after a long Family walk . Very friendly welcome, the ladies building the Benches! Invited in after hesitation we we also with Florence Dog . Enjoyed a good hearty selection of Sandwiches, Burger Jacket potatoes Bowls of chips . Excellently Presented all fresh salad accompanied our food . 5 very satisfied customers. Called in without booking. Lots of availability and choice of where we could be seated. Able to take the dog in as well! We were a little put of by very few people wearing face masks including staff, but it isn't a legal requirement. The food menu was typical for a local pub and the food we ordered was very reasonable. Drink selection was also reasonable.

Called in and enjoyed two halves of Theakston Bitter (wanted Old Peculiar but not available in a Theakston pub). All very friendly. Just been redecorated inside to a very high standard and we think somebody likes blue! Oh and they also like 80s music, which is fine by us.

Was there on a surprisingly quiet Thursday evening. A few locals and ourselves. Very pleasant and helpful barmaid. Good selection of drinks which were reasonably priced. Music from the 80's which certainly pleased me and wasn't too loud. All in, great experience.

Called in on way through Tadcaster. The Staff were friendly and happy too help and it was a nice pub and we had food there which is why I gave it 4 stars , we both had the Gammon which tasted OK but was quite greasey and was what I thought was quite pricey but all in all it wasn't Bad would recommend it.

Having visited numerous times before I made us come here specifically for the Lasagne (a group of 3 of us.) It was delicious before, you got reasonable portions, good quality and I liked you could choose whether to half and half with garlic bread/chips but now you have to pay extra for this. Thats not a massive issue as I appreciate businesses are getting back on their feet but this time my lasagne tasted cheap and nasty! The mince was bitty with a whole can of horrible chopped tomatoes and the cheesy garlic bread (which was clearly a cheap mini baguette) was overdone. My friends burger was pink in the middle and as we didn't see anyone that asked about the food she ate round it. We paid and left vowing never to return. I don't know if its a new chef or a cost cutting measure but like the title says if it isn't broken why fix it!

Lovely place highly recommend but they have now stopped serving food on a Tuesday when we were in and was hungry.

What a lovely surprise it was when our nephew told us he had won a Christmas dinner for 2 at the Coach and Horses although we live in Tadcaster we had never been for a meal there. So after viewing the menu we decided on the traditional Xmas dinner and we were not disappointed...1st class food beautifully presented and plenty of it.Although the pub was extremely busy the service was excellent.Thank you to all at the Coach and Horses.

Pleasant town pub with reasonably priced drinks

Had a great Sunday lunch with the family. The beef & chicken roasts were both excellent. My elderly father was particularly impressed with the vegetables which were very nicely cooked. The guest ale was also great. We hadn't been here since it reopened after the floods so were unsure what to expect. We turned up at midday & it was empty. The tables we had reserved were a bit tired and wobbly but the food really made up for this. The staff were also very nice and handled the fact that the pie of the day that was originally sold to us as steak and ale (which 3 of our party wanted) was in fact chicken and leek (which they didn't want). We would recommend this pub for Sunday lunch but do book as it quickly filled up,!

Ate here on a Friday whilst visiting with friends. The pub was cosy with a busy bar and tables to the side and rear. A varied menu is on offer and the portions are generous. The staff were all lovely and service was good. We’d certainly eat here again.

Went for tea Thursday had the steak pie was really good well cooked and tasty. Also had the pate which again was lovely only think I wasn't keen on was it was served with margarine not butter but apart from that cannot fault it

Called in by off chance , smell of cooking oil hits you when entering not very pleasant, place clean enough but a bit outdated. Lunch served was varied , I had the baguette but thought it was under baked and resembled a roll, well lit in main areas , views through windows poor ,outside seating next to a busy main road , car parking available, would not go again.

The best mushroom soup. Other food good and seems to be cooked on premises. Good service.

With only five minutes to spare before they stopped serving food we were able to choose from the menu and enjoy an array of delicious dishes of food.... all served with a cheerful manner and smiles Thank you.

The deep-filled steak and ale pie (with well-baked pastry top and bottom) was to die for but I advise going early or telling them to reserve pie for you because it is so popular it runs out quickly! The staff are lovely and everywhere is clean and welcoming. I don't live in Tadcaster but have been here to eat twice this year and will definitely be back.

Just stopped off for lunch on the way to York and what a find. Friendly staff that couldn’t do enough for you. Good selection of food for lunch. Recommend.

We visited on a Friday evening at 7.30pm and went into a very nois.y bar. Canned music and very rowdy crowd, including very small children. The table we were given was sticky and no one came to greet us. Eventually we found the menu and pushed our way through to order food and drink. There was a warni ng that food was cooked to order and we did have a long wait. When it came it was beautifully cooked; the portions were generous and prices reasonable. The menu was varied though conventional; eg lasagne, pork belly, succulent and tender and steak pie with homemade pastry. The vegetables were freshly cooked and crisp. We couldn't manage a dessert so can't commentBe aware that this is a local pub with good food, not a restaurant. The bar staff are friendly and fun and the atmosphere is lively and child friendly

What a great jem called to see if they still did food as it was 1405hrs but the lady said they did food until 1430hrs so made our way over a ordered the steak with onion and mushroom baget perfect choice as we were travelling. Very nice. Great service. Thumbs up

A lovely, friendly place in Tadcaster. The landlady was exceptional and the food excellent. I had a beef and horseradish sandwich with salad and real chips, my other half had the beef on fried bread panini it was very well presented and tasted great. The cost was less than you would expect for a tasty lunch like that with more than enough on your plate. Would definitely visit again.

Stopped off to break journey south. Friendly welcome, quick efficient service and an excellent roast dinner. Just off the A64, worth stopping off for and will certainly use it again.

Good food and beer far two much meat on Sunday lunch

Wife and I decided to eat here after recommendations from friends and good reviews on trip advisor. To be honest we were disappointed with our meal, my steak was so tough I could not finish it. A first for me! The chips were greasy and not cooked all the way through properly and the onion rings were so greasy, again I couldn’t eat them. I did mention to the staff how disappointed we were with our meal and I was assured our comments would be passed to the kitchen. No suggestion of even a partial refund though. It’s a shame, because this is a nice pub run by nice people, maybe the day we ate the chef had taken a day off? I don’t know? I hate to be negative and maybe after reading all the positive reviews we may give this place another chance one day as the choices of places to eat a bar meal in Tadcaster are very limited.
