We had a fabulous dinner at the Scarborough Arms on a busy Saturday evening (reservation essential). We skipped starters and had the salmon (a special for the night), BBQ ribs and sirloin steak. Throughout the evening, Derek and his team took great care of us. The food was superb, accompanied by good wines (Sauvignon Blanc and Malbec) & a draught Moretti. Thanks to everyone for making us so welcome whilst staying in the town. Highly recommended.

Plenty of food on your plate and good to eat. Menu has a good choice and the staff are great. Sunday roast was magnificent so had meals on the Wednesday and Friday also. Very pleased. Good beer, service and food. Could not ask for more. Well played

Came for a mid week tea. Menu is pub grub exactly what you would expect, friendly welcome given. We both had prawn cocktail starter, it was really good all too often you have one and it's more salad than prawns, this definitely had a good amount of prawns of good quality. Both had burgers again really nice. Can't believe we squeezed a pudding in (well I ate half, partner polished off the rest,) chocolate fudge cake and sticky toffee, amazing. Just to add I am disappointed no cheese cake on the Christmas menu boo. Nice friendly service we will be back

What a disappointment. Having checked on Facebook / Messenger that the restaurant allowed dogs in and getting a positive response, I ventured in with my small, well-behaved dog. I was shooed out the premises being told they don’t accept dogs. Despite me saying that they had been contacted and had confirmed that dogs were allowed, all the staff there denied all knowledge of this, saying they never allow dogs in, except guide dogs. They came up with many excuses - no wi-fi, been on holiday etc… but no one even acknowledged that their facebook account manager said they allowed dogs. The staff were down right rude. Obviously, the person running their social media and the staff in the establishment don’t have any communication. Can’t comment on the food as I didn’t eat there, due to having a dog with me! A place to avoid.

Had been in this place previously and it wasn’t a good experience everything let it down but called in because it was raining and so glad we did. This place has totally transformed. On entering it was the Xmas tree for me love the Xmas vibe the decor was really good it looked so much cleaner and inviting. Went to the bar a lovely girl there Chelsea served us with drinks and gave us an update on the place. We decided to eat there.. the food was cooked and presented really well. 2nd night as we were going to a concert at the spa and usually eat there we decided to eat at the carousel again we wasn’t disappointed. Chelsea again was behind the bar on her own but dealt with the queue amazingly quickly and so professional. The food again was excellent. 3rd night went there again to eat had the sharing dishes and again lovely. Sophie served the food and was behind the bar along with a guy Ben these people are so friendly but so professional at the same time. All the staff some I don’t know the names of but we’re always busy. The tables were cleared and everything was in order. Good selection of food and drinks clean place even down to the toilets. Will definitely visit again instead of bypassing it.

Went in mainly because it was cold but discovered there was no heating on so apart from the view it was not a good experience. The pub looked a bit delapidated and unclean. Food arrived quick but it was made with what appeared and tasted to be poor quality ingredients. We had an order of chips which was very small and barely warm. The tea was water from a coffee machine and not hot enough for tea. I wouldn't recommend eating there.

Stayed at the flower of may for a weekend and walked to this pub. Omg it was terrible , staff rude and unhelpful, can’t believe how bad the food was and the following day my wife had a stomach upset, flies everywhere and it wasn’t busy so food had been stood and was inedible. I left mine and wife left most of hers. Can’t recommend and I’m surprised they are still in business, chatted in the bar up on caravan site and apparantly it has new owners and mostly people are giving it a wide berth. I can understand why.

Fortunately, the petrol station opposite sells sandwiches. Dry frozen Yorkshire pudding. Everything tastes of old oil from the fryers. Absolutely diabolical. The table next to us sent theirs back too. The pub is dirty, we had to clean the table on arrival. Better quality at a burger van.
