We rang and were able to get a table within 45 minutes for me, my partner and our dog. Food was excellent and service was great - food came quickly. Staff were very friendly and the food was just what we were looking for - we would recommend and will come back whenever we are next in the area.

Well we stumbled upon this pub on our way to Scarborough, what a little gem, we had roast dinner and it was absolutely amazing, beef done to perfection. Will defi be coming again. All the staff were great really friendly too.

Stopped off here for an evening meal with my partner and daughter. I had the homemade steak pie, which was beautifully tender, with rich thick gravy, hand cut chips, and a well portioned and cooked veg consisting of green beans, carrots and cabbage. It was delicious. My partner had the scampi, which was freshly prepared, none of your frozen rubbish. My daughter had the tuna and cheese melt baguette with hand cooked chips and salad. We all loved the food, and the staff were really and genuinely kind, attentive, and friendly. Another bonus is that it was great value for money.

Served my 2 children microwave pizzas that weren’t even properly defrosted, absolutely disgusting how pubs think children will eat anything. Chips were oily and scrappy. Refused to pay for kids meals , my partners steak pie was the only thing half decent. Pub dirty too , carpets and sticky chairs.

We booked a table and was told we had to vacate by certain time. We were given two hours We were finished in an hour at which point the waiters were hovering around us. I heard one point to our table and say “you can have that table soon , they’re going” before we’d finished our drinks. We were also seated in a room with dogs everywhere and very loud sweary locals eating a meal with Wet dog aroma wasn’t good.

The food here is amazing, every time we come to Scarborough it’s a must we visit. Lots of options to pick from the regular menu and specials, the chicken and leek pie was so good.

I'm sad to write this, because we've been regulars of this pub for 2 years, but I have to say that our meal wasn't very good - Scampi and chips. It was supposed to come with peas, salad and chips. There were no peas, and the chips were overcooked bits of burnt chips - like the burnt bits you'd leave on your plate because they're not very edible. When I told the young woman who collected our plates afterwards, she just said 'I'm sorry - I'll let the kitchen know' and that was that! What made it worse was that the couple next to us were eating the same meal and theirs was really nice! peas and all! We had had an awful day and were very tired so just left, but I felt we were treated very poorly. The least they could have done was offer some compensation. It would seem we are expendable regulars!

We did not pre book but the bar staff accomodated us. We both had the roast, fabulous and plenty to eat... home made yorkshires... yum. Great service and lovely atmosphere... a 2nd visit will be made.

We have been going to the Three Jolly Sailors for 8 years and today found that the table we had booked for 5.30pm had to be vacated by 7pm. The couple taking the table we were on arrived at 6.50 whilst we were still on our last drink so felt obliged to finish the drink quickly and leave the table so we actually had 1 hour 20minutes. I queried this with the waitress saying we normally had 2 hours but she said they have never given a time of 2 hours to have the table. If we had wanted three courses we would have been on desert when we had to leave the table.

This must be where pies go when they die! SO good! We were holidaying in Scarborough and came back twice! Warm fire, sleeping dogs and lovely staff. No pie has lived up to The Three Jolly Sailers! I had pie nostalgia!

Disappointing customer service that was exceeded only by the more disappointing meal. We were shown to our table and waited for some sort of service which never came. We waited around ten minutes then grabbed the staff’s attention and asked for a menu. Apparently you get these yourself from the bar; who knew? The food arrived fairly quickly but was not good. My lasagne was very dry and quite tasteless. Someone should introduce the kitchen to Béchamel sauce. I’d sooner have a Charlie Bingham lasagne from Sainsburys, much more flavour. Even the side salad was drying out ☹️ When we paid, the landlord didn’t even ask if everything was okay, so I guess he knew. Sub par meal with lacking service. We normally tip a minimum of 10%, but this time left zero except most of the meal! Would not visit again. What a shame.

We we’re staying in the area and popped in for a few drinks and something to eat. The ribeye steak was lovely, and the chips were amazing. Everything cooked to perfection. Very busy but didn’t have long to wait at all. Took a chocolate and orange gateau away. That wasn’t a gateau, it was like orange sponge but it was really nice.

We have visited here a few times now, we are local and its great to go somewhere nice to eat.Never had a bad meal here and food is always tasty and yummy even better when they have the Apple crumble for a dessert.Staff are also friendly and welcoming.

Fantastic food - proper pub grub. Not a massive veggie choice but the pasta bake was lovely. Friendly team and nice atmosphere.

Called in on the off chance of a bite to eat. Pate and garlic mushrooms to start then scampi and homemade chicken & leek pie. All fab 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

We booked in last minute and so glad we chose here. Lovely atmosphere, family friendly but also plenty of couples, groups etc. The food was great. Me and the wife both went for the pie. Kids meals were great, they enjoyed it and great portion sizes. Would definitely recommend if you are in the area and we hope we will be back. Thanks.

Had a long walk on the coast and stumbled across this pub! Nipped in and it was very busy, but they fit us and out dog in ! We ordered Tuna sandwiches and Prawn sandwiches with chips, just a quick snack but it was served with a beautiful salad and arrived in about 5 mins! Staff were great, service was great …. Well Done …. No wonder Your busy !!!

We always visit here when we are down from Scotland. The food is consistently good - this time we had steak pie, roast dinner and lasagne. Big portions and so delicious. I feel lasagne can be overrated in a lot of places but not here - it was a generous serving and not dry or overcooked which can sometimes happen. Also good to have both chips and garlic bread. We had one sticky toffee pudding between us and that was also delicious. can't wait to come back soon!

Stayed in the village of Burniston for a week and visited the Three Jolly Sailors five times. Ate there on three occasions - excellent food (try the steak pie and roast dinners) lovely staff and very good prices. What’s not to love?

Went here for lunch last month whilst visiting friends in Scarborough. So welcoming and friendly. Good choice of menu and reasonably priced. We’d booked ahead, it was busy considering it was out of school holidays - would recommend booking to be sure if a table. Would love to visit again when back in the area

Called in for Sunday lunch , managed to get a table ,ordered our beef dinners which arrived very quickly which made me believe it’s microwaved, beef was tough the vegetables were swimming in water , and the gravy inedible was so salty , told the waitress but seemed like it went above her head , and wasn’t bothered . We were greeted at the bar by probably the rudest Woman I've ever come across in a pub or restaurant, she obviously didn't want to be there and made it obvious she didn't want us there as well, but we persevered and eventually she took the order for food and drink, and took our seat in the conservatory area , which seemed very dusty and not cleaned to a reasonable standard. We had just settled in our seats and within 10 minutes our microwaved food arrived, Probably the fastest I've had a so called freshly cooked meal arrive, apart from a McDonald's takeaway. My partner had a bean chilli and I had a Hunters chicken which was devoid of any sauce and flavour and 8 chips in a side bowl, I had one pint of Timothy Taylor beer which cost £5.20 which is extortionate for North Yorkshire I usually like to relax and have a couple of pints and we both like a sweet .
