Brewers Fayre Carousel in Scarborough

Had been in this place previously and it wasn’t a good experience everything let it down but called in because it was raining and so glad we did. This place has totally transformed. On entering it was the Xmas tree for me love the Xmas vibe the decor was really good it looked so much cleaner and inviting. Went to the bar a lovely girl there Chelsea served us with drinks and gave us an update on the place. We decided to eat there.. the food was cooked and presented really well. 2nd night as we were going to a concert at the spa and usually eat there we decided to eat at the carousel again we wasn’t disappointed. Chelsea again was behind the bar on her own but dealt with the queue amazingly quickly and so professional. The food again was excellent. 3rd night went there again to eat had the sharing dishes and again lovely. Sophie served the food and was behind the bar along with a guy Ben these people are so friendly but so professional at the same time. All the staff some I don’t know the names of but we’re always busy. The tables were cleared and everything was in order. Good selection of food and drinks clean place even down to the toilets. Will definitely visit again instead of bypassing it.

Lovely food, lovely service, can't fault it was all spot on!! I have used many brewers fayres but this was by far the best I've been to, so much care into the service and the food came hot and fast!:)

The staff were working really hard & spent time to speak to guests and we really enjoyed speaking to the chef in his down time. We didn't get his name but we enjoyed his engagement. Carvery was really lovely and the establishment was clean.

Called Sunday evening not busy served quickly, we ordered steak for one meal and gammon for the other meal food was only aired the chips were a very small portion, we ordered pudding which took about twenty minutes to arrive which is a long time to say the place wasn’t busy. For the price we paid things could have been better, Don’t think we will be coming back anytime soon.

The food was excellent and food was deicious .staff have excellent communication with customers .I would recommend any brewer fayres restaraunts to anyone , food is superb and delicious .

Was very busy so abit of a wait for food to arrive & food was decent quality but the whole place could do with a good clean!! You get what you pay for!

Second time here. Gave it a second chance. Breakfast very poor. Quality of food poor. Had a meal,burger it was cold, smothered vhicken poor portion. Salad old and cokeslaw did not seem fresh. Young girl on bar lovely. Will not be visiting again.

We stayed at a nearby hotel room only and had breakfast here every day as great value at £10.99 per adult and kids eat free. A wide variety and quality items of full cooked & continental with drinks too. It did get very busy so I booked in advance each time as some walk ins were turned away. Also ate tea a few times again booking in advance. Kids get a 3 course menu for £6.49 and the usual variety of pub meals for adults. Despite being busy the staff were always friendly and helpful, really good with the kids. We will definitely use this place again when in Scarborough

Went for breakfast, good food and good price for all you can eat buffet. We got there before 9 which I’m glad as it got mega busy.

What a disorganised place this is , we stayed at the adjoining premier inn and went for a meal on our first night stay, it was busy and only had to wait 25mins for our food, there was a family next us who’d waited an hour and were still waiting when we left, we decided to visit again the next night as it was convenient as it’s on the hotel and the food was ok, plus easy with having a five yr old with us, when ordering food, a surly barmaid informed us it would be a 40 min wait which was fine as the restaurant was a lot quieter than the previous evening, we actually ended up waiting for over an hour , then a guy who we took to be a manager went to a table just down from us and told the occupants their meal was the next one out as they’d complained about the length of time they’d waited, he then came straight to us and said exactly the same thing, after another 10 mins our food came and it was horrible, my chicken was like rubber, my salad consisted of some rocket a cherry tomato and a slither of cucumber, the chips on all our meals were stone cold and hard so obviously been stood for a while, the “waitress “ said I will bring you your coleslaw which arrived another 10 mins later with the excuse it had taken that long as the “chef” had to make it fresh which I very much doubt as it wasn’t fresh it was disgusting, we asked for tomato sauce and mayonnaise which a member of staff came over , literally threw 5 sachets of sauce on the table without a word they proceeded to spray the nearest tables to us with cleaner which isn’t good when your trying to eat , I’m still waiting for the mayonnaise! No one came over to ask if everything was okay but that’s because I think they knew it wasn’t, there is no organisation in this place and the staff are just young students who obviously need training , breakfast (we’d previously paid for) was just as bad for the service, food was nice but nothing ready at the same time , people complaining other customers had got their tables as staff had forgotten to put reserved markers on them , very unprofessional and unorganised

Five out of five Ten out of ten 100 per cent , Absolutely lovely breakfast today Tuesday 20 th Feb , served by the lovely June , very attentive and hard working lady . We visited Scarborough and as we have had a good meal in the past decided to go again.I like my mixed grill burnt and the young man serving Liam recognised from 6 months ago. Food great and Liam was good as were all staff.Thank you all and a pleasure eating there will definitely go again when staying at Scarborough.

Absolutely terrible and I'm not fussy. Waited an hour when it was quiet. Food came cold and young kids served last, by this point they were past it. Don't get the cheese burger chips to share, definitely not a portion for 2 and the cheese is clearly out of a tube. Daughters sweetcorn looks like it had been cooked in 1962. Won't return

Oh dear I left a reveiw recently because it was very good. But unfortunately it as lost its lustre. I was overcharged which was bad start start bartsff a bit rude when I pointed it out Understaffed even the chef came out to collect plates. Food was OK but the cocktails where average. Very disappointed local. I will try again but if its no better I will not be returning.

Tasty enough but small servings, very polite and pleasant staff. Portions could be a bit larger unless we were just unlucky

Staff were amazing! The place is clean, well presented with excellent food and staff. Chelsea on the bar gave me a taster so I could try a drink and Tina served us. Tina was attentive and friendly. What I would call ‘old school service’, she is a perfect team member representing Premier Inn/ Brewers Fayre.

The Carousel Scarborough Very Friendly Staff and very accommodating to our daughters special needs. Very understanding and a Fantastic service. We booked a Table for my daughters 7th Birthday Meal and explained her condition and needs. They were brillaint at understanding and went above and beyond. The Food was delicious and cooked to perfection (by far the best we have had in a long time in Scarborough) Drinks are very well priced and atmosphere is very family friendly and nice. All in All we would love to go back highly recommend 10/10

Portion sizing is awful as I've tried to show in photos. Very sub standard food but limited other sit down restaurants out of season locally.

EXTREMELY expensive for the quality and quantity of the 3 meals (1 child & 2 adults!). The waiting time for the food was ridiculous but this wasn't mentioned when ordering or asking how much longer. The food was also over-cooked. Would not recommend or return.

Arrived and told we could choose our table. Placed order. Drinks and main courses arrived. 20 minutes after finishing eating no sign of plates been collected. Waitress told my son desserts were on their way. 20 minutes later still no sign so queried with barmaid. Original waitress came back and said there would be a long delay as they had no team leader. At this point we decided to leave as we had been there for 2 hours. Will not be returning again!!!

We have been coming here for a number of years as a family over Christmas This year it has returned to its pre covid level of expectations after the last couple of years not being up to standard. Breakfast, Christmas Eve dinner, Christmas Day dinner and Boxing Day dinner all very good! Not a complaint in sight! Staff were plentiful and pleasant. Thank you all.

Went for lunch at 2pm - place was pretty quiet. Ordered a drink and a burger, assuming there would be plenty of time to eat before I had to leave for a meeting at 3pm. Waited, waited and waited until 2:57 when the food finally arrived. It was stone cold and unpalatable. Obviously had no time to send it back, and when I complained to the staff (older man with glasses), his response was simply 'thanks'. Will not be returning.

I come here quite a lot mainly as it's reasonably good value and good location, and I can use blue light card. You have to try the cocktails they are amazing, and really good value. I just say you may have to wait a while for them making but worth it, perhaps just need another staff member to help.
