The best restaurants serving British food in East Riding of Yorkshire Yorkshire and The Humber

An update 14/03/24. Called in this evening to share a few pints with friends. Pub and restaurant were moderately busy. We saw food being served in the bar which looked really good. We decided to sample the "own label" ale of the F&C. I believe it is actually rebranded Sleck dust. It was a good pint and at £3.50 all three of us stayed with this choice for the evening. The pub was warm, comfortable and welcoming. ---- A cold winter's day, warming fire, good pint of ale, good food. Can't be beaten. Called in for lunch, sat by the fire. I had home made fish finger sandwich with the freshest white crusty bread. My wife had garlic mushrooms on toasted sourdough. Both excellent. Really good ale. Memorable!

Christmas dinner was a joke from start to finish . Served with food we did not order,starter was cold Xmas pudding was cold. Very disappointed for the £110 we were charged.

Didn’t deliver the order at all .

Had a breakfast this morning. The meal arrived promptly but was not hot. Had a feeling this meal was standingfor a while.

Visited Beech Tree for lunch with my Wife recently. Scampi & chips were delicious. Great pub restaurant. Will definitely return.

Lovely pub with excellent food. We were staying near by and they recommended the pub. The food was all very delicious with a great choice and great friendly service. They are also dog friendly and only take a certain amount of dogs in each area which was great for our dog.

El horario de apertura de Google está abierto hasta las 7 pm. Fuimos por pescado con papas fritas a las 6. 30 pm solo para que me dijeran que eran fichas solo como estaban cerrando! La señora detrás del mostrador no era muy amable o servicial! Muy decepcionante y molesto! ¡Esperábamos pescado con papas fritas esta noche! ¡Espero que hayas logrado vender tu enorme pila de fichas antes de cerrar temprano! ¡Tienes que cuidar de los lugareños cuando los turistas no están cerca!

We needed a last minute venue for close family and friends for an engagement do. The Wheatsheaf staff, particularly Oliver, couldn't have given us a better service. He made sure we were all looked after and was very helpful. The food was lovely and it couldn't have been a better evening. A big "thank you" to all the staff working at The Wheatsheaf Kirk Ella on Saturday 01/02/25.

Thankfully, we’d booked a table for Sunday Carvery as they were turning people away while we were there. Lovely touch was providing “bits” for your dog if you ask the carver. Very tasty carvery, only grumble we could say was that the food wasn’t piping hot but Luke warm… Lovely staff,, lovely location , lovely carvery…… lovely interior…….. outside could do with a “freshen up” or a lick of paint… Enjoyed our visit…

Fabulous place to enjoy looking around the beautiful art gallery, interesting and informative museum and the all new library. 10% discount in the cafe with your library card too! Bravo to all involved.

Lovely coffee. Amazing bacon sarnie. Great service. Can’t fault and will certainly return if in the area.

Very nice pub definitely go back.

Had lovely veggie roast dinner. Unfortunately not many people in the Tap Bar, which we were in as we had our dog with us.

Food was wonderful, but would more choice of beers apart from lager.

Advertised as £10 bottle of processco not the case false advertising said processco weekend was charged £17 for bottle plus pint lager. When asked was told is had changed if it had changed then should have a notice up saying so
