We called here yesterday as our usual fish and chip shop, just around the corner, was closed for some reason, although the signage outside the shop showed the current opening times and it should have been open? Anyway, we called here instead. The shop was empty when we visited and, because they cook to order, we did have a little wait but it was an acceptable amount of time. However, the chips were quite soggy (some were not fully cooked) and the fish was greasy with thin soggy batter and not very nice at all. We were not sure what the fish was because it was quite tasteless. On a positive the curry sauce was nice but we will give this place a miss should our usual place be closed (formerly Wards). This is the second time we have bought from here and both times the fish and chips weren’t very nice.

We had a very nice meal the chips were excellent as was their fish and sausages. The service was excellent all at a very good price. Well done. this is somewhere we would definitely come again.

Abysmal, overpriced, fish and chips. Congealed, fat saturated batter, on overcooked fish. Warm, soggy, chips covered in manky black bits. Dried up mushy peas that tasted like they’d been reheated for a week

Fish was gorgeous and so nice,food was very hot and it was quick service too. nice staff and close to south pier and the beach.

£3.30 for a bag of chips!! We had a cup butty and it cost us over £4.00!! 15 chips and a stale bread roll covered in cheap margarine!! Absolute money making rob dogs! There's Pirates at Brid and this lot are them!!!

It certainly deserves the title Busy! On arrival some diners complained of waiting times. Felt sympathy with counter waitress who had to split her duties between taking orders & food preparation. Around 20 mins wait not unreasonable considering the pressure staff were under. Fish & chips were best I'd had in ages. My partner said the same about her burger. This restaurant/takeaway will always be busy & deserves to thrive. It's well worth the wait at peak times!

I know I'm a yorkshireman and the price of oil has increased due to Ukraine situation etc, but £3.30 for an average to poor portion of chips is just taking the Michael. Been here before and always had to queue, their currently prices explain why it is so quiet (although still had to wait for two portions of chips which were already cooked as there was another takeaway order in before me that wanted a fish and was cooking. Weird system here!!!!

Our supper here was just about perfect. The fish and chips were just as they should be: a large portion of chunky chips, a huge fish in light, crispy batter and proper mushy peas. The staff were lovely and we can't wait to visit again the next time we come to Bridlington.

Very slow service for chips costing £3.30 . Place looked dirty to. The front of the counter is awful. There are plenty better fish shops in Bridlington

Small portions and really slow service. People who arrived after us were served their meals before us. Definitely not value for money

Lack of inclusivity and Transparency: The fish and chips are fried in the same pan and in the same oil as they use for pork items. The information was given by a member of staff after being specifically asked about it. Hence, many Muslims, who are generally more careful about these things, would eat it unknowingly. On the menu, there was a vegetarian option, in the reality it was unavailable. I wonder if they would truly respect the dietary preference and boundaries. Rude staff: Staff need intense training on behaviour, especially how to deal with a child. We had a horrible experience today. We visited there today in the late afternoon with five adults and one child. Our group was diverse. After hearing about the fact that fish and chips are fried in the same pan and in the same oil, one of our group members ordered a vegetarian option. This was unavailable. Then the three of us ordered fish and chips and scampi and chips. And she stepped outside to look for possible options so that they could eat too and we could eat together. She bought pizza for herself, her son and her husband and brought it back to the restaurant. Yes, I agree it is not ideal to bring food from outside. But clearly staff were aware of what was going on. A staff member went to the kitchen and brought a man when the child began eating a slice of pizza. A rude man said to the child that he should stop eating right now. He didn't even let the child finish the pizza slice. He could definitely politely say it was against the policy and would not advise that. It wasn't necessary for him to be rude to the child. The whole incident made our trip a bit gloomy and one adult member tearful.

Not been to this place for a long time, used to go a lot- was always good. Spent almost 30 pounds for 4 meals. I didn't even eat two mouthfulls. My husband left most of his too. Kids didn't eat much either. Fish tasted awful batter was thick and soggy, fish stale even chips were poor . Just had fish and chips meal deal. Absolutely lovely. Perfect white fish with crispy batter. And real potato chips. This came with mushy peas and a pot of tea. Real value

Visited on Bank holiday Monday, fabulous haddock and chips for 2, with extra bread and butter plus tea and coffee. Beautiful fish, cooked, in my opinion to perfection! Staff were attentive, thoroughly cleaning tables and chairs when diners left ready for the next group. Highly recommended.

Upon arriving at the restaurant I was greeted with the words ‘what’s your name and number?’. There was no smile, no ‘hello’ and no certainly no politeness. We were shown to our table and ordered two large pots of tea, these were served accompanied by only one very small portion of milk. The two young girls who were serving us (both with dark hair) were extremely inattentive, and obviously did not want to be working at the restaurant. It was very difficult to get either of their attention, and a member of our party twice had to leave our table to locate a member of staff. When you did manage to eventually speak to one of them, there was again, no smile, and not a hint of politeness-Everything to them was a chore.With the five portions of fish and chips that we ordered, we also ordered three portions of bread and butter, these never arrived. When we queried this one of the waitresses, the response was ‘oh yeh she’s just gone to the shop to get some bread, it won’t be long’ - No apology was offered and we never received these items. In fact, when paying the bill the staff needed to be reminded that they failed to serve those items to us, and so we would not be paying for them.Overall, the service received was shambolic, although the food was tasty, the customer service certainly nullified any positive experience that we may have had. The two young girls that were serving us were entirely uninterested in their jobs, and frankly I am surprised that Busy Bee’s actually pays the staff to do their jobs, the level of customer service given would suggest that they do not get paid at all.As a side note, the restaurant openly breaches GDPR, taking customers names and contact numbers on a large book and then leaving this notepad open at the entrance to the restaurant for anyone to view, unchallenged. I can hand on heart say the I will never visit a Busy Bee’s restaurant again, and will advise everyone I know to avoid them at all costs.

I had read about this restaurant online,it lived up to expectations.It was my first day trip of the year,I hadn't been to Bridlington for a long time,I was so pleased when we were dropped off at the harbour,just over the road from Busy Bees.I felt safe there,they were very well organised.It said it was a reduced menu,I asked about the pensioner's special,I was pleased to be told they were doing it,as I find it's enough for me.I had fish and chips,bread and butter,a pot of tea with extra water,I enjoyed it all.The fish was lovely ,plenty big enough.You have to have fish and chips at the seaside,and I would certainly visit Busy Bees again.

Popped in to the restaurant with my husband for a fish and chips supper. Social distancing was done very well and the whole time we were in there someone was cleaning and sterilising surfaces which was reassuring. Food was very good and came in large portions we were very pleased with the service and cleanliness of the restaurant.

We stopped off on the way back to York.I have eaten a lot of fish and chips and these were fantastic.The batter stayed crisp until the last bite of fish and the chips were super tasty.You know when you are really excited about having fish and chips and you go somewhere and it’s so disappointing that the batter is so soggy and the chips and bland and under cooked and just rubbish.Well these were super good.If you are in Bridlington just go here, don’t bother looking or trying anywhere else these are the best.I am a Head chef with over 30 years experience so I believe I know what I am talking about xxxxStay strong.Big love xx

we were only ones in restaurant which tells you something especially 6.30 in the evening. Fish was nothing special and chips were inedible [we both left them] They were like boiled pots lightly fried.

We got here just after closing but we were still served. The haddock was beautifully cooked and the chips were perfect. We had one large chips between us and still couldn’t finish them. Worth driving 200 miles for :)

Following months locked away at home we finally managed to visit the coast. We always like to visit busy bees for fish and chips and we did the same this time. Maybe it was the coronavirus changes but their system was badly organised and the staff were just downright rude. Probably the last visit or us.

6 of us went for lunch and were happy with the choice of food, and the service. The food was well cooked and tasty with good portions of chips. What spoilt the experience for us for a yappy dog under one of the tables, which made conversation impossible. Luckily, they did leave quite soon. Had we not already ordered, when the dog started, we would have gone to an alternative venue, there are lots to choose from in Brid.

After using Busy Bee's Restaurant and takeaway's since i was a little girl i told the partner we would go here for dinner in the restaurant believing we wouldn't be let down at all.On arrival there were only two other tables taken so the restaurant was not busy in the slightest. We waited only a few minutes until the waitress who was dealing with another family noticed us and shouted across the restaurant " Sit down in the corner", Which i found was a little rude especially for the family she was serving too.We sat down and waited about minutes until another waitress came over and took our order. The food only took about 10 mins to arrive which i thought was great, But the tea was then luke warm which was disappointing. I like to eat fish and chips with two different choice of sauces. On grabbing one sauce i noticed it was empty, i looked around for the waitress who was talking to people she clearly knew from another table, I decided i would just get up and take off another table, Sitting back down i went and grabbed the other sauce noticing that was also an empty bottle, Then it became a little frustrating that not only my cup of tea was luke warm but my meal would be in the end. The food was nice but the chips tasted more like fluffy steak chips than chippy chips, The salt & vinegar bottle and plates were all coated in dusty grease.To pay for the meal we decided to just go and pay for it at the far side as nobody bothered to come and check up on us or ask us if we needed anything. We will not be returning and so disappointed in how much Busy Bee's has gone downhill.A little clean, Checking condiments and customer service skills needed in my opinion.

Two friends and I visited this fine establishment on an EXTREMELY windy evening, we sought the refuge of the restaurant only to be told there was a long waiting list. This message was communicated with what can only be described as a hint of pleasure and a large amount of distain. We turned to the take-away of this establishment and we received a warm welcome from the fishy fryer and his pal. The portions were fit for a fisherman who’s been at sea for six-grog-fueled-months, and the fish exquisite. We left with our fill of fish and would thoroughly recommend a visit, including the restaurant. Rest assured it definitely beats scurvy, and we can only recommend pricing customers with an Orange for desert.

Myself and my wife live 12 miles from Bridlington, we choose to drive to Busy Bees as the food has always been excellent. But.....There is one woman that works there who unfortunately we had the misfortune of coming across again on Saturday 8th Feb. We arrived outside the chippy in the main shopping street as this woman was closing up? I thought this chippy closed at 8pm on a Saturday? We arrived at 7.50pm to be told from an unwilling and extremely abrupt woman who I mentioned above that they were closed? Not only bad time keeping but really bad service. We’ve encountered her before when she told us meal deals didn’t exist, even though there was a sign above her head?Used this chippy a lot over the years. Never again. Bad time keeping, bad attitude from that member of staff. Dreadful.

Visited for lunch based on the look of the place and the food we could see. Not disappointed in anyway. The haddock was well cooked and moist, the chips were crisp on the outside and fluffy inside. Only down side would be the cost, it was not excessive but was higher than we pay in Cleethorpes for larger portions. However we will be back again.

Had a great meal today at Busy Bees. We chose a Haddock meal deal and it was delicious. The batter was cooked perfectly, the chips were freshly cooked and tasty a choice of mushy peas or curry and fresh bread and butter and it came with tea, which they were quick to refill up our water and milk. The usual fish and chip shop menu, but the meal deals, with a seniors rate, was Good value. Dining area was clean and tidy when we visited and service quite quick.

The intention was to eat in Wards Fish and Chip resturant next door which we'd used a number of times, prior. When I eventually attracted the staff's attention in the take away side I found the resurant wasn't open at lunctime, not until 16.30 in fact. However what I didn't like was the overheard comment when leaving. So just the other side of the alleyway is Busy Bees Resturant and quite frankly I'm glad Ward's Resturant wasn't open because this resturant to my mind was better. The service prompt, food excellent with very welcoming staff.

We have visited this restaurant on many occasions, we have never been disappointed yet, beautiful fish and chips, lovely clean place excellent service, called in again yesterday afternoon, we were cold and wet, it was raining stair rods, we came out nice and warm and full to the brim with fish, chips and tea !!! Well worth a visit.
