Popped in for a drink on the way home from a New Years Day walk on the beach with the dog. We felt a bit peckish so I asked for a menu but the lady behone the bar advised that they only do snacks. However, she told me that they would be bringing out complimentary beef stew for the New Year walkers shortly, all they asked for was an honesty donation. As an extra bonus it was gluten free which was great as I'm coeliac! Very friendly and dog friendly too.

We called in after hearing it had a new landlord and I have to say they where warm and welcoming. We only had a couple of drinks so I can't review food but the atmosphere was lovely. We attended the charity event at the pub over the BH weekend and the entertainment put on was superb, raising a ton of cash for local charities. Aside from this the pub is a lovely, quirky village pub with a choice of different areas to sit and enjoy the different ales on offer. We visit every now and again and the landlady and regulars are always warm and friendly. Try the Sangria in Mason Jars.... absolutely gorgeous.

Decided to go last minute and was pleased we did. Lovely warm welcome from the start, nice homely feel and made to feel that nothing was too much trouble. Ordered the Sunday Roast and the men ordered the pies. Bowls of freshly cooked vegetables and cauliflower/broccoli cheese were brought to the tables, gravy boats and then hot plates with plenty of meat, creamy mash, roasts and proper Yorkshire pudding. Pies were generous proper pies with plenty of filling and crusty shortcrust pastry. Desserts were to die for and all topped off with attentive but not intrusive service. We were offered a choice of sauces to accompany them and opted for a peppercorn sauce and a Stilton sauce, they both came in individual jugs so it was easy to share the sauces, the Stilton sauce was amazing. The steak itself was cooked perfectly and couldn’t be faltered at all,and best of all,non of the food, chips, onion rings mushrooms etc had one ounce of grease on it. We went there because their rating was supposed to be excellent. In fact it is very poor and overrated. They had a poor selection of wine and the restraint is very drab and dated. The meat pie that I had was not too bad but they poured gravy over it and then provided a gravy bowl. I overheard a conversation that the Landlady was having with some friends. They asked for a certain type of beer and she replied that she did not have it and that it was only a village pub and that they only drank s***. I'm sorry but she has to be more respectful especially as I am local.

Disfrute

We attended a family christening party at the Blue Bell. There was a hot and cold buffet with sandwiches, scotch eggs, sausage rolls, pizzas, chips, bread sticks, cheeseboard, dips, salad etc. The staff kept tidying up and re-plating the food to make it look tidy and well presented. There was juice on tap for the many children and there were balloons on all the tables. We did move the glass chessboard pieces out of the children's way.The staff had been let down on the morning by the balloon supplier (who ran out of helium can you believe) who was supposed to deliver the balloons. The landlady went out of her way to find another supplier (on Easter Sunday morning) and had to go into town to collect them. So hats off to the Blue Bell for going the extra mile. The toilets could do with a re-furb as they are old fashioned. One of the doors in the ladies did not close and the other toilet had no loo paper. Other than that it was a really nice little country pub and would definitely return if we were in the area.

We often eat at The Blue Bell and always find the food lovely and service friendly and warm. However, Tracy and her team surpassed themselves yesterday when she catered for a party of 36 people all booked in together for Sunday lunch. The broccoli and stilton bake was described as "the best I've ever had", most ordered different desserts and everything came out of the kitchen quickly with no mistakes. Everything is home made here, the planning and organisation yesterday was hugely evident. All 36 diners were delighted with their food and as well as us rabble there was a baby shower in the other room, for which Tracy was also preparing a buffet. Keep up the amazing work!

Ate here with 2 friends. Advised to book as would be busy when we rang. Only 2 other people eating when we got there. Ordered drinks, both lagers were off as a problem with them. Asked if the did desperados, yes, then came back to say they had run out. Ordered our roast dinners. The beef was the worst I have ever encountered. I could not chew it, it was as tough as old boots and inedible. Mashed potato was never near butter or milk, a nasty grey wallpaper consistency, tasteless as was the gravy accompanied by reheated frozen veg. In short I have had better school dinners back in the 70s,so that should tell you a story. When asked if the meal was ok, we fed back politely that the meat was inedible, we were advised that this would be fed back. Nothing was reflected in the bill & no one came to speak to us either. Sums it all up really, not an experience we will be repeating, avoid at all costs

Wow! food was incredible! We came in after hearing about the fish and chips and it did not disappoint. not to forget the chefs homemade tartare sauce, I dont know any other places that offer that and it was the perfect touch. The staff were very welcoming and friendly and the landlord created a great atmosphere. will definitely be coming again. They even offered dog treats at a small price for the dogs in the pub, will be recommending to our friends!

Whenever we come to Filey, we always make sure we eat here. The staff are fantastic and the food is even better. They make a family feel very welcome and can’t do enough for you. If you are staying in Filey, Bridlington or Scarborough, make a point of eating at the St Quintin Arms

Very nice good food reasonable price, not far from main shops and other places to eat. Opposite the green near fair maid pub. The food is better at the bluebell without a doubt, and less rowdy.
