The best restaurants serving British food in Gloucester South West

Después de algunos años este feliz pequeño lugar está de vuelta. Aunque es un edificio del siglo XIX de C18th, el interior es "reluciente mármol blanco" y tiene un aspecto italiano.

Excellent food all round, nice staff ect and the cheesecakes are 😘. Highly recommend

Sadly this place has gone massively down hill with its current ownership! I’ve used this chip shop when in the area for years.. and it’s always been lovely.. Currently the food is ok, but nowhere near as good as it used to be! My issue is the attitude of the arrogant server! Not sure if he is the owner, but my goodness he is rude! Doesn’t like taking any other payment method other than cash! And gave both myself and the lady behind me a dressing down over choosing to pay by card.. Food was cold, over priced, and despite me asking for it to be put in trays, trays were thrown at me and I was told to do it myself! He needs to go.. he is ruining a reputation of a business that has flourished for many more years than he has existed!

Sunday roast lovely and fresh, great for a gathering.

We popped in for the first time this evening. Cracking service and lovely cocktails. Also if you’re going to have a nibble you have to try the scotch egg and Olives too! Awesome.

Poor customer service. I've been always able to buy pork scratchings from there, but last week I was told that we don't sell them separately now.

I can honestly say it was the best breakfast I’ve tasted . Smashed avocado. The best . I’ve been coming here with my hubby and dog ever since she was a puppy and very welcoming and staff very friendly . Well done portivo

Fabulous independent garden centre with a beautiful restaurant for meals and afternoon tea which shouldn't be missed. Staff are very friendly and helpful.

Overpriced for the food provided

I visited with a friend for a weekday lunch and we both had a mixed grill. The food was excellent, the ladies behind the bar were very friendly and helpful and we even met the chef who came out to say hello. I will definitely be going back.

Manager was rude to me this evening, I will not be going back.

Wow. What a great bar with a lovely history. The staff are friendly and welcoming. They offer a lovely menu and it also includes vegan and vegetarian options.

Poor poor service. The manager I think had a bad attitude as I asked why they had stopped food at 7?? Apparently for a staff meeting then his little mate started to pipe up asking what the problem is. Not what you need after travelling and a days work. I felt threatened as they ganged up. Similar thing happened the week before when I sat at a table in an empty restaurant to be told aggressively that I needed to be sat. There was no indication of this anywhere. The food was ok and the building is lovely. A massive pity. Use the Greyhound down the road very accommodating. I travel a lot and use Chef & Brewers regularly being a Premier Inn account holder - I will not step in one of them again!

Very loud tables of youths, spilling into walkways causing members of staff to constantly bump into me to try to clear the tables. Unable to hear any conversation from my wife due to the excited whooping, swearing and loud chatter from the next table. Left after one drink, didn't even consider ordering food, never to return unless the management gets to grips with this behaviour. Very disappointed.

Had lovely baked potato here on Saturday. That's now 21 of the 34 Poppins restaurants that we have been to now. Loving it .
