I visited the Knobbly Cob today with my son who has who has dairy, egg and gluten intolerances. When I ordered him a jacket potato with Chilli Con Carne and asked if they could open a fresh tub of dairy free spread and use a clean knife, they were more than happy to do this for him! Very approachable and understanding staff. My son gave them a massive thumbs up and a well deserved 5 stars! Thank you!

Usually love the Knobbly Cob, haven’t been there in years due to not living in the area anymore. Was really looking forward to having a lush sandwich and some snacks, however after waiting in the queue for 10 minutes, which was ok as it was peak lunchtime rush hour (there were only 2 groups of people in front of us as well! So not enough to reason the next wait time!) We were told they’d only be a minute when we finally got to the front of the queue, so we were anxious to order our food. However 10/15 minutes later there was still no sign of anyone being able to take our order, there were 3 people behind the counter sorting out everyone else’s order. I commend them for this however it is ridiculous that none of them could take mine and my mothers order. Especially when we started making movements that we couldn’t wait any longer no one decided to try and stop us and take our order, they lost our service and our money and to be honest they won’t be getting it back. Used to be a lovely place but clearly it doesn’t really care for its customers service anymore, which in this financial climate is a silly notion to take. We did think to ourselves that we always try to support our local businesses but this particular one has lost our business in the future as well.

Ordered sandwiches, cakes and coffee for lunch via Deliveroo. Firstly, the sandwiches were delicious and so was the coffee and if I would just have ordered that The Knobbly Cob would have scored a resounding 5 out of 5. But we ordered cakes which didn't arrive. We paid for the cakes which were part of an order costing just over £21. 96p of thar bill was a service charge. This is adding insult to injury frankly. Being charged for items and service not received with no explanation, apology or recompense would definitely make me hesitate to order from The Knobbly Cob again.

As day visitors to Gloucester we were looking for somewhere to lunch on a hot day. While this place was not the most inviting we found a table outside but needed to order our food at the counter. Service was efficient and our meals were brought to our table. The prices are low but the food was quality. They obviously have good trade from local office workers so takeaway is busy. The owner came out to chat with us, the decision to lunch here was a good one. Portions good so I had to help my wife finish here meal, not a bad thing. Would certainly return in the future.

Stopped off here to rest our weary legs whilst on holiday. The food was ok but we found it quite expensive in our opinion. Two tuna baps which came with a side salad, coleslaw(which none of us ate or enjoyed),a handful of salted crisps, a bottle of water and a bottle of coke came to just over £12. The difference in price from taking the food away to eating in was quite significant. We actually chose to sit outside on the high street at the tables & chairs provided because the public benches we could see we're all in use. We were tired from walking around and needed a little rest.

I selected menu 28 as I expected my family to be hungry and want something special. I met with Nick from Knobbly Cob who talked me through what he could do for us and that he would deliver the lunch as needed. The lunch was then delivered on time as expected with the food clearly marked to cater for food intolerances, meats etc. The food itself was a great success. One persons words were that the 'food was a hit', and another said that what made it good was the variety of food items that were not the typical buffet items.I am very pleased to have used Knobbly Cob, as I found them very professional and helpful and the food was good. On our first trip into Gloucester after relocating from the North West, we stopped here for drinks after visiting the cathedral. We ordered hot chocolate for the three adults and ice cream for our little boy. After waiting 5 minutes, we were served the hot chocolate in take away cups. We didn't think much of it and proceeded to sit down only to be told they were closing and couldn't sit there. We thought fair enough, we will sit outside instead but were told we couldn't sit there either. We left the drinks and went to a different cafe that wasn't shutting mid afternoon on a Saturday. Popped in making the most of a visit to Gloucester [Sunday so a little quiet] and the one cafe was closed because of Christmas, well their loss we found this lovely little place. The menu is vast and took a good few minutes to decide what we wanted and ordered it. They had about 40 minutes left and this was high lighted but didn't bother us. The food was then delivered to us upstairs [which whilst lovely is a little small unfortunately] the food was excellent and so was the service, it really costs nothing for people to be civil and polite and its genuinely refreshing, and it was great service, nothing was too much trouble, even though they were trying to get straight. Will happily come back just can't believe I've lived in Gloucester all my life and not tried this place sooner. This is a lovely little cafe in the high Street. The staff were very friendly and helpful.I sat outside in the covered area in the street to eat and drink and I could have stayed there all day. The other customers were enjoying it and were very friendly as well.

We went for lunch and wanted two salads and a jacket potato with chill. Our order through the counter server for a loop and we got one salad and a jacket potato with a side salad. We sat outside and when I went inside a requested some salt and pepper, another server said "oh, Im not your server... what do you want?" I thought that was a less than pleasant way to speak to a customer. Either way, the food is good and the menu is extensive. Just be prepared to have to explain what you want explicitly. The price for the food we order plus tea for two was £11... not bad!

I haven't visited the knobbly cob in years, but was delighted to find they had added an upstairs eating area. My husband and I ordered our food, which was fairly priced and went to wait upstairs. The furniture is quirky and comfy and we had a nice spot by the open window overlooking the street. The sandwiches did not disappoint and were accompanied by a small salad and some coleslaw. The lady who served our food was friendly and asked if there was anything else she could get us, I did feel a bit bad asking for mayo as it meant she had to go all the way back downstairs and up again to bring it to me. But she obliged with a smile. I will definitely be back to the knobbly cob on a more regular basis. Especially now there's somewhere lovely to sit and enjoy your food!

We ate here on a saturday lunchtime and sat inside. I ordered the pasta bake with salad and coleslaw and my partner the jacket potato with chilli. My pasta came as a chicken pasta bake when i thought it would have been meat free, but i didn't mind, the coleslaw had been forgotten and the salad a bit basic would have liked onions etc put on, but supposed i could have asked. Had to get in a queue to ask for the coleslaw whilst our food was going cold. Also had to ask for condiments as none were offered. The pasta had been overcooked when reheated as hard around the edges. The jacket potato was nice my partner said. The staff were very mixed up not knowing who had ordered what for those sitting outside and were openly saying they didn't know if drinks orders were right or had been taken at all. Seemed to be a lot of staff doing different jobs but mot knowing what each other were doing because of lack of communication. Overall ok, but for over £5 for a small pasta dish not really worth it. Wish i had ordered something else like the paninis or sandwiches as they looked really nice. We will try here again when in Gloucester as maybe just a one off with the missed coleslaw, basic salad, overcooked pasta etc. Staff were friendly and nice.

Looking for somewhere in the centre of Gloucester for an early morning bacon sandwich and coffee and this was just ideal! Service was excellent, staff friendly and helpful. Bacon baguettes were good, coffee enjoyed by hubby, couldn't fault and will certainly visit again when in the centre.

Decent sandwich bar, salad boxes are good too, can get a bacon sarnie at lunchtime which is always a bonus.. Service can be a bit hit and miss usually very efficient, but servers can get a bit wrapped up in the regulars, not an issue but something they should be mindful of, when a queue. Also they seem to have a lot of staff doing other jobs, as opposed to serving.. Have felt a bit invisible on occasions.. They have seating now too but you have got to throw on the VAT for the privilege. Overall very good as I rate on quality of food.

Popped in here for a bite to eat.Staff were very pleasant. Good menu selection..opted for jacket potato with cheese and coleslaw and pot of tea.husband had chilli on his potato. Both came with side salad and crisps. Spud was huge, nice and hot, the tea brewed just right.A steady flow of customers were served whilst we ate. Shows its a popular place. If we are ever in Gloucester again will look this place up again.

We have been living in Gloucester since 1973 and this little sandwich bar has changed hands a few times. If you are in Gloucester City Centre and find yourself outside of McDonald's in Westgate street you will find it opposite with chairs and tables outside. It is not a large frontage but do not be taken in by this as the cafe and takeaway has a upstairs seating area as well as room for up to 8 persons seating near the window. The staff are very friendly and the food is wonderful. One of my favorite meals is a chicken and Bacon salad. And wow, I was blown away with the one I received. really fantastic and all fresh My wife had Jacket potato with Tuna Mayonnaise, which she also enjoyed. A pot of tea with enough for more that 2 cups. All for just over £10.The menu is huge with many variations for Sandwiches and other yummiesAn ideal place to stop and have snack or if you can wait as there is sometimes a queue around midday. It will be one our regular places to eat when we are in town from now on. wrth checking out

I visited with my friend a couple of weeks ago for lunch. Brilliant lunch-type food (jacket potatoes, sandwiches, salads). My friend is from London and really, really fussy about coffee - but she loved the coffee here! The staff are really friendly and attentive, and the service is really good. Where downstairs is more of the takeaway bit - it's not obvious that upstairs is a really nice retreat area, where you can eat looking over the busy street!

We stopped here for tea and cake after finishing a long distance footpath (The Geopark Way from Bridgenorth, 110 miles). The cakes were lovely and we were made to feel welcome even though the cafe was due to close. Highly recommended!

Went to The Knobbly Cob for lunch with friends and sat in the new seating area upstairs. We had a hot paninni served with a great salad and kettle chips. We also had a really nice salad box and my other friend had a jacket potato with a fab chicken curry in it. The food was great, staff were really friendly and the room upstairs was great. The best place to go in Glocester for lunch in my opinion.

Great selection of food, good standard of service and attentive staff. Food is well presented and menu choices are vast. Big choice of sandwiches and hot meals. Have never eaten in, however, very impressed with takeaway menu, and much better than many takeaways in Gloucester City Centre. Give it a go, you won't be disappointed!

A very original place in a Tudor house. I had the full English breakfast, which is super abundant and with which two people had breakfast. In addition, everything is very good and with great service. 16 euros with coffee or tea included....

Después de algunos años este feliz pequeño lugar está de vuelta. Aunque es un edificio del siglo XIX de C18th, el interior es "reluciente mármol blanco" y tiene un aspecto italiano.

Great service. We telephoned a long order in and were given a collection time. We arrived a little early to collect and the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. They were keen to share top tips for local entertainment. The food cartons in our order were thoughtfully labelled so our take-away order was easy to sort out. The burgers and fries were delicious and so reasonably priced. Thank you for a lovely start to our weekend away.
