Well fish and chips for me and wife. No complaints.

First time visiting. My first impressions were really good. Friendly people behind the counter, good variety of options on the menu (I like the modern touch by using screens, very clear and concise) and the food tasted great at a good price. Always a good sign as well that they were fairly busy at 7:30pm on a Thursday too! This place beats our local in Tuffley I think and I'll probably make the slightly longer journey here if the quality continues.

Lovely cod and chips with cod at £8.50. Staff friendly with good service. On a diet so no chips at the moment, but still get the cod.

Moved back to Gloucester in January and found our fav place, from back in the day, had closed down… We tried various chipshops and takeaways but this place has become our new regular due to being a 10/10 experience everytime we’ve been. Thanks Seymour Fryer. Ps, their cheesecakes are great and all of their portions are huge.

Visitied for the first time tuesday evening, great service from keli , fish and chips was very nice . Also the cheesecake was banging 😋. Would definitely visit again . 👏

Delicious ❤️ I rang and ordered for my husband to pick up, friendly service. Our food was amazing! Best chips I’ve ever had and the curry sauce was so good. We both had pies, hot with crispy pastry, just the way I like them. Look forward to trying the fish next time. This is our new favourite chippy from now on 😋

First time eating fish and chips from Seymour Fryer. Disappointed. We visit many fish and chip shops during our travels with normally good results. Although service and price were fine, food quality was poor. Both fish and chips were more greasy than we normally expect. Fish batter was flat and not much taste - fish not much taste. We made decision to get fish and chips as many people were waiting to buy and fairly good reviews on Google maps, so we hope this was a one-off poor experience as we don't like giving low feedback. But we won't personally be buying there again.

Placed a order just for one, scampi and chips and curry sauce, absolutely delicious and the best thing is the service, they are so friendly

Fantastic chip shop ! Never had a bad order. Staff always have a friendly smile and fast service when you walk in . Also tried the cheese cakes last week and they were delicious and huge (like most portion sizes you get at this fryer ) highly recommend

I live not far from here, but maybe go once a year to see if its improved. The answer is always no. The chips were very soggy, as was the batter on the fish. I really don't see why people go here at all, maybe convenience, it's always busy? Then I suppose some people rate things like pot noodles, Wetherspoons and Greggs. Any other of the few times I would eat fish and chips, I would go to another one in Tuffley, where the chips and batter cooked perfectly and are crispy, and the portions considerably bigger. We don't have a great food culture in the UK compared to a lot of the world, but at least do something simple like this right.

Always nice to have a place with gluten free fish and chips, It is definitely the best fish and chip shop. The food was nice and hot, the fish was of a very good size. Me and my partner enjoyed it very much. Will come again.

First time at this chippy for a few years because we moved across town. Sad to say it was not good tonight. Nearly all the chips were binned as they were so greasy. That might have been down to them being so fresh out of the fryer and too hot to be wrapped. Maybe they should have lost some heat/steam as maybe it was condensation. Anyway, they felt greasy. The batter on the fish was not good either, and that was freshly cooked too. Shame as it used to be better.

Looking after gkids needed something quick loads of chips for money fish cakes went down well too

We have been using the Seymour fryer for more years than we can remember. They kept us going through lockdown with good quality food served with more than great humour. A true community asset. Linden are fortunate to have people with true pride in their products, who look out for each other. We travel from further afield to buy our treat and will continue to do so.

I haven’t used this fish and chip shop since then and WOW I was not disappointed. Fabulous service and the best tasting fish and chips. EVER! 2 small cod 1 standard chips 1 large curry sauce £22 is this correct? I did not check price list at the time but seems excessive for average tasting meal.

My husband just returned with a large cod and chips. I am so disappointed, the cod did not taste it's normal taste, had a peculiar smell although we did eat most of it because we were hungry but it was not the usual high standard in taste or size this has never happened before, I've always told friends they are the best in Gloucester and it's always been my favourite chippy for many years. So disappointed.......... Update. Thank you for your speedy reply, I am sure this is a rare and isolated incident. Thank you also for your offer, I will get in touch in due course. I shall continue to support and recommend you as I have never had to be critical over the many years that I have used your services.

By far and away the nicest chips I have had in I don’t know how long. The shop is clean and attractive, big menu to pick off and the prices are more than reasonable. I would have paid a whole lot more for what I just ate. I just dropped in on the off chance it was open as I wasn’t sure but it was the best lunch decision I’ve made in a long time.

It's a good, but very busy chip shop. Be prepared to wait outside the chip shop to get in. Call me old fashioned, but I was shocked by the price of Large Chips £3.80!

If I could rate no stars I would as I have nothing to rate. We ordered through Just Eat at 18:45 and requested the delivery time for 20:00 which you would think would be plenty of notice to receive my order on time. Apparently not. Not only did it not show up on time it didn't show up at all. Now I have ordered from many many places through Just Eat and I understand at busy times deliveries may turn up late and that in all fairness is understandable but to not turn up at all is frankly amazing. I have never EVER had an order not show up eventually. And for those of you who think I must have missed the delivery I have a camera on the front of my house that shows all comings and goings.

Ordered fish, chips and curry sauce. Given plaice. Chip soft not to my taste and portion to much for one, a lot thrown away. Found plaice battered fish tastless. I found expensive at over £8. Had fish and chips at another place in Gloucester where chips and batter crisp suited my taste.

Just had fish and chips from here. It was for a family occasion, two birthdays one 99 , neither of whom can leave the house so fish and chips as a treat was the request and we wanted it to be good! We are not local so it was a guess but Seymour did not disappoint. Pre ordered as one was gluten free. Order was ready bang on time and have to say generous portions, fantastic fish. Well done and thanks.

Shocking customer service, seems to be more focus on delivery’s than customers waiting to be served. I wasn’t even acknowledged for 10 mins even though I could see what I wanted on the grill and was at the front of the line. Shame because the food is great.

Always go and get chicken n fish ask for it to be cooked fresh recently chicken well over cooked, and fish wasn't fresh in fact was total waste money through the tea away, chips OK

Big quee for fish and chips on a Friday because it's worth it.

Chips were awful undercooked and obviously hadn’t changed the oil as the chips had black bits on very disappointing.

Low quality food... Maybe half star more than McDonald's as quality, 1 star less for customer service. It should be illegal to wait one hour after the delivery promise time for this kind of food. This food has had as much oil in it as an 3.0l diesel engine... In France, Spain, Italy, Portugal, Greece this is not considered food, this is a joke!!!

Only just moved to the area and so glad to be just around the corner, lovely food, daughter loves the Halloumi burger and I'm impressed with the fish.

Excellent service the best chips in gloucester

The best chips ive ever had, not greasy or oily just perfect, had their sausages and nuggets and they are just as good. My only suggestion would be get onto something like Just Eat, id be having even more often then!
