We pop in here when we have visitors staying with us. There’s always great service and a good selection of home cooked food, it’s a great place for a light lunch or just a coffee.

This used to be one of the best for breakfast, and you didn't mind spending that little bit extra, as the quality was really good, with locally sourced food. It now seems to be under new ownership, with new menu's. Yesterday we had the worst breakfast ever (Beatrix Potter's breakfast, I believe). The bacon was like leather and slid off the plate when you tried to cut it, the fried egg was solid, the scrambled egg was grey and inedible (and looked more like a chopped up omlette), and there were no mushrooms available as an extra. At £8.50 each we expected better. I don't think we will be back any time soon.

What a little gem, tucked away in an alleyway in the shadow of the magnificent cathedral. The food and service are exceptional. We decided on the roast beef and Yorkshire pudding with an ample helping of fresh vegetables all cooked to perfecton. Alas, no room for pudding but I must say the afternoon teas looked amazing. ! We'll definitely be back

3 of us had lunch at this little tea shop/cafe on a Sunday lunchtime, and were absolutely delighted with the service, the food and the lovely cozy little teashop atmosphere. Food was very tasty, served pretty quickly, prices were very reasonable, everything very clean and fresh. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend it and will definitely be returning there next time I'm in Gloucester.

We popped in to lily’s looking for a quick cuppa and a snack , a lovely lady served us and we duly ordered some beverages . These took 15 minutes to appear no probs we were chatting . We proceeded to order a few buttered scones , once again this delightful lady took our order and off she went . After 25 minutes and not a scone in sight we asked her for an update at which point I asked if the apprentice was filming for sir sugar as the service was somewhat chaotic and very slow .”I’ve reminded them Twice dear “ she said in her wonderful accent , but it seems they’re not listening . Oh dear we said and decided to cancel and move on . The place is quaint the hot chocolate was divine , the pot of tea was rather insipid but the service was extremely lacking . All in all for a two thirds empty eaterie and such slow service it’s a rather abysmal 2 . Its 2 stars for today but 5 starts to the lovely nippy who served us . Must try harder guys!!!

My friend and I had the most amazing cream tea at Lilys, the staff were so friendly and welcoming and couldn’t do enough for us today-it was so lovely when the chef came out to explain what each of the cakes were-it was beautifully presented and without a doubt the most delicious cream tea I’ve ever had-and I’ve had many in many different places. From the fresh filling stuffed sandwiches to the Eton mess in a cup every single item was tasty, fresh and just delicious-thank you so much for making my friends birthday treat extra special.

We have been customers at Lily’s for many years when it was a family run business and always found service, quality and presentation of food outstanding. Today we went for breakfast and the difference you would not believe. The food Was just thrown on the plate and the eggs were burnt on the bottom and the yolks were rock hard. The restaurant was also cold. Won’t be visiting again.

Went in today for lunch with my daughter. Were given a menu but then ignored. It was not full but there was a table set up for a large afternoon tea so I think staff were making that their priority although people had not yet arrived. There were plenty of staff on but still no service despite making clear eye contact. I also felt it was really cold inside so we left and went to another cafe very near with great service and food.

We booked quite a few months ago for a table of four for my mother's 70th birthday. Being celiac it was a real treat finding a real afternoon tea with a gluten free option. We opted for the Beatrix Potter tales of Gloucester cream tea, she was surprised and thrilled. They went the extra mile with decorating the table and a candle in my mother's cake tray. She felt very special. Good value, excellent food and a quirky surprise taboot. Those who know know.... I'm not going to spoil it, take a visit....... Can't recommend this place enough. AMAZING!!!!!

Myself and my daughter visit here every six weeks when we come to the hairdressers. Mostly we come for breakfast but sometimes we have lunch too. We’ve found this establishment to be scrupulously clean, the restaurant to be comfortable and warm and the staff to be very obliging.

They serve a variety of English food from fish to roasts including a soup of the day and excellent deserts which are excellent and the best in Gloucester from my experience. Prices are good for the quality. Service is excellent from this family run restaurant.

I really enjoyed it, it didn’t seem like a lot of food. But it was so much and so good. A really nice place to visit if you have time.

When you've been here you'll wonder why you ever went to Costa! This place is a hidden treasure, the staff are wonderful, so polite and friendly and attentive, the food is amazing, we have been several times and have never been disappointed, today we visited and had the best jacket potato I have ever tasted, there wasn't just a jacket potato on the plate, there was a fresh, crisp salad, beans and bacon with really tasty home made coleslaw - please go to this wonderful little cafe if you are visiting Gloucester, I promise you will not be disappointed!!

Great service. We telephoned a long order in and were given a collection time. We arrived a little early to collect and the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. They were keen to share top tips for local entertainment. The food cartons in our order were thoughtfully labelled so our take-away order was easy to sort out. The burgers and fries were delicious and so reasonably priced. Thank you for a lovely start to our weekend away.

A very original place in a Tudor house. I had the full English breakfast, which is super abundant and with which two people had breakfast. In addition, everything is very good and with great service. 16 euros with coffee or tea included....

Después de algunos años este feliz pequeño lugar está de vuelta. Aunque es un edificio del siglo XIX de C18th, el interior es "reluciente mármol blanco" y tiene un aspecto italiano.
