Bill's in Gloucester

Came in for brunch today and had my favourite Eggs Royale. Food was great and staff were friendly and welcoming as always.

I’ve eaten here before and had an excellent experience. Unfortunately on Monday it seemed like whoever was in the kitchen didn’t know what they were doing, which was disappointing and not a good reflection on the waiting staff who were really lovely and helpful. I love aubergine Parmesan, but not as simple as it sounds! Aubergines should be cooked until soft and unctuous and absorbing a rich tomato sauce, sadly Bills served almost raw aubergines swimming in oil. I’d like to thank the staff for dealing with my complaint and offering alternatives.

Lots of nice food, kids menu a bit small. Would love to see Lasagne on the menu soon! Service was blazing quick, staff really kind and nice.

Excellent all round. All the staff were friendly and welcoming. Food was excellent and not a bad price. Throughly recommended We had the two type chicken and the burger. Mini dessert are the perfect size and delicious.

A must visit if your in the area

If only there were more Hollies in this world!! Fantastic service from Hollie, bubbly, funny and always appeared just as our drinks were running low!! We anted for nothing!! Lovely food and banging cocktails!! We will be back!!

Friendly staff. Busy but the did not seem stressed and no rush on us to clear table

We had a group of 40 people and everyone was very impressed with this restaurant. The food was top class and the service was excellent. Nothing was an issue for the staff and they were top class to deal with. Most of our group actually returned the next morning for breakfast because of the good food and especially the service on the previous night.

I was passing by with my husband by car and we both needed to use the toilet and one of us had to stay inside the car whilst the other one uses the toilet due to parking restrictions. I went in (female, 22) and they were kind and let me use their toilet. After I was done, my husband (male, 23) went to use the toilet and they refused, even after he mentioned that his wife had used it a minute ago, claiming that only customers are allowed to use the toilet and that he should go out and use a public toilet. This was definitely rac!sm due to the fact that my husband is a bearded, brown man and also stupid because the manager picks and chooses who to allow to use their toilet. Avoid at all costs!!

Had a bit of breakfast here got eggs, bacon and sausage with mushrooms and a pot of tea. It was good the mushrooms were a rubbery and the wasn't the hottest. Overall it was nice in a nice place and good service.

A really pleasant restaurant with friendly staff and great food. Looked after by Lillie who was a delight. Definitely the best place to eat in Gloucester Quays.

Family with 3 young boys. Lovely food, amazing smiley waitresses and good atmosphere. Would always recommend 10/10 for families.

We had a quiet dinner at Bills early evening on a Saturday. I expected it to be busier but there were probably 5 other tables. We were all seated very close together, slightly annoying given the number of empty tables. The food was good, the coleslaw has an odd flavour but everything else was lovely. The staff were friendly and helpful.

Nice food,good service, my only complaint is size of breakfast there should be an option for small plates to stop food waste

We went to bills for my mum’s birthday and we had a lovely meal. Our server Hollie was brilliant and she was not lying when she said the biscoff pancakes were amazing!! Would highly recommend

Bills is always a very secure and solid choice, food and service is always great and Gloucester was another that reassured this. Excellent and super friendly service, and will visit again if in the area.

Great atmosphere and good service. We had the small plates to share and they were lovely. It was early evening so quite quiet there.

We found Bill's in Gloucester Quays after bypassing TGI Fridays due it's horredous high prices. We had never visited a Bill's before and were impressed by the menu choices, we finally settled on a Halloumi burger and a buttermilk chicken burger, both were very good. It is a little pricey (but not as bad as TGI's!) but the food and service were both very good.

Doddery sixty-six year old posted under Gloucester Quays for some reason. Credit where credit is due and that credit goes to Bill's Restaurant. Sunday morning breakfast. Welcoming helpful and friendly staff. Quality ingredients, well prepared and presented. Cost-effective pricing. Will definitely be returning for more.

What a fantastic place to eat.. staff were fantastic and food was lush. Bit more expensive but we all got overheads and as they say you get what you pay for.. thanks guys my m8s 60th breakfast brunch was lush.

Stopped here for a quick breakfast. We both had pancakes, one with fruit, the other, bacon. The food was hot, flavoursome and served quickly too. There was a lovely atmosphere, not too crowded around 11.30am, which was great. The staff were attentive without being too much. I would certainly recommend Bill's and will definitely return.

All you can eat pancakes were awesome. Lucy H really looked after us.

Another great meal at Bills, I had the garden plate which was so good, service as always was spot on, the whole team are friendly and approachable and it’s great to see a team that seem to get on so well, makes the atmosphere in the restaurant much more inviting.

I ordered the vegetarian breakfast and it was absolutely delicious. The service was great and the outside seating area was lovely.

Nice spot in the Quays. We stopped for lunch. I had their classic burger, my wife had the Korean fried cauliflower. The burger was great, though the chips arrived cold. The cauliflower was good except missing its coriander. The gripe is my wife was almost finished her meal before we saw the waitress again to mention the missing coriander and the cold chips. I got new hot chips, and they were good, but my wife was disappointed she didn’t get her coriander. I think the key to good service is to revisit quickly and see how things are. Even if it’s just to offer another drink, or ask if we need condiments. So, good food, not great service.

Came here for an anniversary dinner. The team were friendly, helpful and were more than accommodating. I came in early to set the table up for my partner and the team were very helpful to me. The food was delicious, I am a regular here and have never had a bad meal. Great outdoor area for when the sun is shining as well. Thank you Bills I will be back

I certainly would not visit here again - I was really expecting a very good steak meal especially paying over £20 only to receive a overcooked 8 oz steak which was more like a quick fry steak! Absolutely shocked at this - I should have returned it but I did not want to wait another 20/30 mins as others in the group had their meals as well. Everything else was ok but an absolute shocker at the steak meal!

First time on a Bill's - breakfast at Gloucester Quays. The full breakfast looked good and my pancake stack with egg & bacon wasn't bad although I found the pancakes a little dry in conjunction with too little maple syrup to counteract this. Good service and interesting decor. Arguably a little expensive.

We ate here twice the breakfast was spot on but the evening meal was OK but everything was a little dry .After being burnt with a 3.25 can of coke in the morning we had water in the evening but the first waitress brought look warm water and when I asked for ice she replied you didn't say 🙃 we all asked for the service charges to be removed as I took our meal's over the threshold allowed by the company.

I recently dined at this restaurant and had a delightful experience. The atmosphere was lovely, creating a warm and inviting ambiance. The service was great, with attentive and friendly staff ensuring we had everything we needed. The food portions were superb—generous and satisfying. However, the prices were rather steep for what was offered. Despite this, the overall experience was enjoyable, and I would consider returning for a special occasion.

Great place for brunch. Would recommend booking to ensure you get a table, especially good weather and tourism. Been to other Bills before, the food has the same consistency throughout each location. Effortless bill payment, scan qr code to pay.

We ate at Bill's this past week as a pop-in during our time in the nearby areas. While the initial appeal was good—thanks to positive Google reviews, the appearance of the place online, and the menu options we saw online—we were left a bit confused after our visit. For one, the menu options available seemed to be miscommunicated or misunderstood by most of the staff. Certain menus that couldn't be ordered, like the pancake pamphlet, were still left on the table, adding to the confusion. The overall layout of the menu we were given when seated seemed a bit all over the place. Additionally, the menu available on the website was not accurate, so when we arrived thinking we would be ordering certain items, pretty much nothing we had chosen initially was available. The wait staff was relatively accommodating when we asked if they could make an exception, which was nice. However, at times it was confusing who exactly was our waitperson. When the food did arrive, it was bland, but that could definitely be a cultural thing—we’re not sure. More seasoning of any nature would be appreciated by most, one can assume, as everyone dining when we were seemed to be using what was available on the tables. When we finished eating, we asked the waitstaff for the check (which we had specified would need to be split at the beginning of our meal), and it arrived in full. When I brought this up with the waitstaff, they seemed a bit put out and hurried to make sure I was aware they would "deal with it in a moment." So, we were a bit confused overall, but again, this could definitely be due to different cultural expectations. Aside from that, we did get seated, we did get food, and we were eventually able to pay our tabs as we had asked initially, so... not bad, but could definitely be better.

My companion said that the Burger was tasty. I had the eggs royale which was well cooked. Banoffee desert was nice although accompanied by a wait. The ice cream and sorbet was enjoyed. I had the doughnuts which were warm and fresh and great dipped in the sauces although the chocolate sauce was a little thin. Not impressed by the automatic addition of 12% service charge as we prefer to choose amount to add.

Great food and meal, but the staff let them down a little.

Used to be great. Awful now. Bad service, wrong food and then reported me as a "No Show" on the online booking system Open Table.

Excellent food as usual but especially delightful service that morning. I was home for a family funeral and the person who looked after me was friendly and super professional. I had a difficult day ahead and this was a good start.

Lovely Bill's- really big and spacious inside, quite empty when we went. Food was lovely and service was great.

Been here a few times now for various celebrations. Every time has been just average, but the last visit was very poor. Attended someone's birthday celebration. A few of us wanted to begin with starters, and some people asked for starters to be served alongside their main courses. The waitress confirmed this, and understood what was being asked, but somehow the message got lost and everything came at once. Unhappy that some people had both starters and mains at the same time, the waitress took the mains that had already been delivered back - which was fine, mistakes happen. But then, when it was time for the mains to be served, it quickly became clear that they were all luke-warm and had just been left on the side somewhere while we ate the starters. After complaining, frantic efforts were then made to reheat stuff, but by this time the whole meal had descended into farce. To top things off we were given the bill which, contained no discount or reduction, but did include a gratuity which we were not told about. Despite the problems we left a tip, as the waitress had worked hard to deal with the issues, and it was only later that we realised that we'd effectively tipped twice.

Service very slow. Entrance too small. People queuing to be seated at tables and serving staff having to push passed with plates of food trying to serve people. Need a Seperate door for customers and service staff.

Poor over priced food, went home hungry. Not going back!

OK, Service is rather slow at busy times but the food is well worth waiting for :) Recommend some of their breakfast items. Can no longer recommend this restaurant as the now refuse to accept the legal tender (cash) of this country - a very stupid thing to do 😔 To be clear, I often use a credit card to but boycott ALL places that stupidity refuse to accept cash.

We had a wonderful evening at our family meal this evening! Very well looked after by Elsie. The food was fabulous and steaks cooked to perfection as asked for! Drinks were flowing and the atmosphere was really relaxed and enjoyable. Staff also looked after our two dogs very well which was extra special!

What a fabulous lunch at Bills Gloucester Quays. Very dog friendly. Hollie was so friendly and helpful and couldn't do enough for us. We will be back.

Overall the dining experience was enjoyable and the atmosphere of this restaurant is great. I will surely comeback next time thank you

This is a really disgusting place to eat!! It is extremely expensive for the taste and quality of the food, what a shame! Won’t recommend it

Great service from Lucy H In a busy bank holiday Sunday restaurant. She was the exact right level of attentive and chatty. Really good. Fish ginger burger was delicious BUT needs more mayo, I had to ask for some it was too dry. The halloumi was excellent, but did t really like the creme fraiche with it. Too much of it, wasted. It’s my favourite place to eat when shopping at Gloucester Quays. Always good!

Brilliant food and fantastic service. We originally sat outside but it started raining, the server effortlessly whisked us inside to a new table already set with our food. Effortless bill payment. Thank you!

Portion for breakfast was really small for the money. The money is comparable to other joints but not portions.

Lovely lunch (eggs benedict) at the Quays. Staff was excellent and service was quick. Did contemplate the bottomless pancakes on the menu though!

Great burgers, great stuff and great location.

Came for breakfast with my mum and sister. We had no wait at all to be shown to our table. Our waitress was professional and really nice. Top marks because this is the only place that ALWAYS asks if there are any allergies everytime we visit. The food was quickly and freshly made and tasted really good. Bonus that we got to use our blue light discount too!

We visited Bills having had a poor breakfast the day before at a local cafe. Bills was busy but the service from start to finish was excellent. I would have liked a bit more variety on the breakfast menu but the Garden plate breakfast was fantastic and I would highly recommend it. The tea pot you got when you ordered tea was the largest I have ever seen for 1 person and I got 4 cups out of it which was great. I would certainly recommend giving Bills a visit when your next in Gloucester and looking for a nice breakfast.

Really busy but expensive for what you actually get

The worst meal I have ever had in my life. Our food was COLD - nothing on the plate was warm. £40 later we had a disgusting meal. Don’t bother with this place.

We visited Bill's on a rainy April morning for breakfast. Service was great, prices were okay and the food was excellent. We would definitely visit again if we're in the Gloucester area again. Bill's is also very much dog friendly.

Place decent, mixed quality of staff. Food good, although I had to send mine back as served cold. Replaced fairly sharpish tho'. Best turmeric latte/golden latte I have had for quite sometime.

Yes a lovely restaurant great food, but the crab cocktail was a bit spicy, but a great great restaurant 😀

Really good food and not expensive. Dog friendly, which is a rare thing in this "city" because nowhere else is! A highlight in an otherwise dull visit.

Had a wonderful evening with family. Friendly staff, wonderful atmosphere and great drinks. Manager Jess was fabulous, you could tell the place is managed well with the way staff were with us. So our gratitude to Jess and Hollie who looked after us and our furry friend the entire evening.

Nice decorations and spacious, but some of the food was quite bland, such as the chicken shawarma and burger. They make you ask for the bill in person to remove the service charge as you cannot do that online which I found to be pretty stupid. Service was pretty meh too, waiters rarely, if ever, returned to the table to ask about the food or if you wanted deserts. Probably wouldn't come again.

This is the third Bill's restaurant we have ate at and I have loved each visit, the gluten free options available are truly amazing both in taste and presentation.

Poor choice of mains. No fresh vegetables on the menu other than beetroot. The house salad was good. The seafood linguini was quite short on seafood and the two chicken dish presented chicken that was dry and overcooked. The biggest disappointment was the red wine, at around £8.00 a glass not very good. We tried the Shiraz and the Merlot and we're not impressed. Primitivio was on offer as a full bottle only but we thought that at £40 that was bit over the top! We visited on a Saturday evening and the restaurant was only half full, there was no atmosphere. The staff were pleasant and attentive which was a plus. Even so we shan't be returning any time soon.

I’ve always loved Bill’s but this specific one in Gloucester Quays is by far the best of them all! Always the best service from all staff members! Especially this evening, Alex was amazing and when I didn’t know what to get for drinks, starter and main he picked all the best options
