Have previously visited venue for breakfast which was generous and tasty. Recently had Sunday lunch which was equally as good. We had roast beef with a lovely selection of fresh vegetables and a large Yorkshire pudding. Only two of us found room for some dessert. The choice was limited but the food quality was great and really tasty. All in all very reasonably priced. Will come again and recommend to others.

Wow... what a refurbishment. The place looks like new. Fresh, contemporary. More TV's for sports coverage. Great atmosphere. I'm just a local... no use of the Inn accommodation (so unable to comment directly). But got talking to sometime that stopped in Gloucester overnight having a long journey from Cornwall to Lancashire. Dog friendly Pub and Inn.

The place has recently as of 2024 had a slight revamp and tidy up. So far their looking after ales has improved as well.

A proper pub that sells food rather than a licensed restaurant that happens to have a bar. Good value, proper pub grub and good portions so come hungry! Make sure to check the specials board too. Outside seating at the front and I'm told the garden out the back is lovely too, didn't see it on our visit because the weather wasn't great. Nice large car park on the other side of the road. Events/parties catered for to so I'm told. Worth a visit 👍🍻 *** BREAKFAST UPDATE *** The breakfasts are awesome and exceptional value for money I think! 2x full breakfasts with a pot of tea and a pot of coffee (3 full mugs from each pot) plus 4 slices of toast for £20.90p ! *** Update August 6th 2023 *** Popped in today to try the Sunday Roast. Once again, fab service and friendly staff. I don't normally have the roasts when we're out but Friar Tucks came highly recommended and as our last visit was so good we thought we'd try it. We had the Roast Pork and Roast Chicken and it was delicious! It felt and tasted like proper home cooked food! Give it a go I don't think you'll be disappointed. *** Update March 3rd 2024 *** Visited for Sunday lunch again, bring your appetite! Still great food, still friendly service and still brilliant value. Love it. Book in advance!

Decided to visit somewhere different but still local for a Sunday roast - food was lovely, very homely! Had plenty of gravy and extra side veg as they had some leftover before shutting up the kitchen. We will definitely be returning to try their breakfast menu.

Stayed overnight, with breakfast. Lovely staff, great beer garden. Room clean & shower and facilities good. Fantastic breakfast! Mix up with payments (my fault entirely!!) but they were brilliant about it. Highly recommended, will def stay here again if I'm back in Gloucester.

Best to give this place a miss. Initially when the new landlord moved in it looked promising, serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. But the lunch/dinner menu is limited. 20 months later it is back to how it was with the previous landlord, more of a sports bar than family friendly pub and definitely not somewhere to take children.

An easy pub to walk past but what a surprise inside. Great atmosphere welcoming friendly and professional staff at the bar and a comfortable environment full of welcome and life. The beer selection is beyond excellent. A not great pint of cask quickly and very courteously remedied by a landlord who evidently knows his beer craft very well. Food smelt amazing! Seemingly Popular with families friends and solos. A definite will visit again.

Always come to friar tuck for our Sunday dinner. A different choice of meats and seasonal veg every week you can choose one two or 3 meats. Also can order 1,2 or 3 courses. We normally have soup as our starter and are so full up after our roast that we can’t fit a dessert in. Great price for home cooked food, friendly staff and locals having a laugh and some banter, Not a large dining area so worth booking a table for Sunday lunch but not required.

My boyfriend and I went to the Friar Tucks pub to watch the game on a Friday night. The bar was pretty packed but unfortunately the kitchen had stopped serving food and it wasn't even 8pm all they had were pukka pies and crisps. Drinks prices weren't bad. I had a glass of red wine and it was undrinkable. The bottle must have been open for longer than a week so my boyfriend asked them to open a new bottle and it was 100% better. Overall a decent bar to go and have a drink in and watch the game.

Good local pub which shows a good range of sports and has a good friendly atmosphere. Entertainment is good and caters for all ages and always a top night. Only ever had bar food but always been very good and good value for money, especially the curry’s!

Lovely place, car park is situated across from the building. We received a friendly greeting when we arrived, bar area very spacious, sign pointed to Food ordering place, We were left to browse menu, did enquire about soup of the day and were informed we had a choice of two - mushroom or potato and leek - we had potato and leek and it was, like the rest of the meal homemade. Menu was varied and included all day breakfast and vegetarian option plus children's menu and share or smaller bites all homemade. Each main meal was well presented on white china, can't compliment enough, the young lady who served us also saw to the bar but didn't neglect customers in restaurant area, checked that we were enjoying our meal. Although we all had soup to start, for the mains one of the group chose special from board, other 2 had rump steak and cottage pie with choice of potatoes respectively and then onto dessert, my favourite part of any meal, again we all chose differently and, again, homemade. Cannot fault this place and would definitely recommend to family/friends and would go again. Toilets were to the left of the bar as you enter and were clean and heated. Also they had a Pool table area.

The barmaid was friendly and efficient, The menu looked very appetising with a good choice of steaks, and reasonable prices, the beer was okay and not unreasonably priced, the food when served, was slightly disappointing for the price, very much football supporters pub, although I would probably eat here again.

I visited with a friend for a weekday lunch and we both had a mixed grill. The food was excellent, the ladies behind the bar were very friendly and helpful and we even met the chef who came out to say hello. I will definitely be going back.

Came here for the comedy night (which was great!!). Slightly disappointed by the lack of artisan beer and real ale tbh. There are many other local breweries than 'Wye Valley' not to offend but SO sick of Butty Bach! Please consider expanding on your offer akin to The Pelican. Otherwise beautiful pub with really nice staff. Would love to return.
