We were staying at Bowood for a birthday treat and had dinner and breakfast in the Shellburne Restaurant and found Rotherhithe dinner to be more than I anticipated. Simply put it was one of the best meals we have ever had. The food was outstanding, I had the Cornish crab and my wife the lamb croquet which were fantastic, a cleaned plate was testament to that. It was followed up by the beef which was cooked to perfection and a delightfully tasting Diane sauce. My wife had the pork belly, yes, cleaned plates again. To finish I had the tarte tatin with vanilla ice cream. It truly was a lovely dessert, not sweet at all. My wife had the bread and butter pudding with honeycomb ice cream, again, not sweet. Service started a little slow but they were full. Wine was good, the house red really was a great choice. Great cocktails to start. Overall a fantastic visit, would highly recommend.

Poor quality food. Chips were overcooked and not very tasty. I tasted haddock which was ok. Fish cake was completely tasteless no fish in it just potato covered in batter. I’m at loss how restaurants can serve such poor quality food and think they can get away with it.

Went for a Sunday roast here yesterday, surprised to see no other diners present when this place used to be packed on a Sunday. It soon become evident as to why. Bar staff lovely and friendly as was the young lady taking our order. We all ordered a roast, very very disappointed, one of our friends couldn’t eat hers she did try bless her. It seemed like the meal had been microwaved as the food was hot in some places and cold in others, the yorkie looked sodden so definitely microwaved. I did eat mine as I was hungry. I did leave the beef as it was tough, the pork tasted weird like it had been cooked, sliced, frozen and reheated as it tasted tangy. The potatoes were ok as were the carrots, the swede, cabbage and meat was cold. We did order pudding of apple crumble only to be disappointed again. A young lady came down and said they had no crumble but would we like flapjacks instead. I’m so sorry as this pub used to be very busy on a Sunday but alas no longer. Won’t be going again needless to say. But the staff were friendly and hard working.

Me and my family popped in for a meal, in all honesty the food wasn't bad and throughly championed the microwave! How ever my issue is with the staff, should the manager and barmaid me bad mouthing other employees in the bar area.... I think not.... The topic of their conversation was a data breach and the manager clearly needs more training to understand a more competent position. The bar maid/ waitress dumped our plates in front of us, grunted and went back to gossip no doubt, it felt like a cross between an episode of coronation Street and the Adams family. Food was okay but a little to unprofessional and toxic for my taste buds. Customers come in to unwind not to listen to toxic talk. To any of you training in hospitality, pop in and catch the "hospitality for dummies show" I guarantee it will be learning experience either way.

Really good full Cornish. Generous portions. The bacon was griddled so tasty and not greasy, Harvey's sausages are ways peppery perfect. Would've like a hot plate and homemade beans rather than tinned. Will defo go back. The decaf coffee was dreadful though!

Counter unattended so had to order on machine. Couldn't figure out how table numbering worked . Come on Morrisons how about some customer service. Sausage overcooked almost black bacon barely cooked. I used to enjoy a Morrisons breakfast when on the road but won't be going there anymore

Called in for a reviving pint. Had a local beer called Legend which went down very well. Pub is quirky as it has a Post Office counter at one end of the bar. Steepish climb up from the river Dart but worthwhile.

As soon as I cut into the haddock I could smell that it was not fresh. A very pungent smell. My son’s haddock also had a very pungent smell. The chips had obviously been re-cooked . At a cost of £35 for the full 5 meals it can only be described as disgusting . I think that trading standards should make a visit to these premises.

We visited at the end of September, the food was pleasant enough although service slow. Decided to visit again a week later and waited 50 minutes for a 3 ingredient side salad and a simple pasta dish. Both occasions resulted in receipt of £100 fines for parking on the premises yet at no time did staff or signage alert us to the need to register our vehicle. This is so careless on the staff's behalf, and has resulted in locals deciding not to use the venue - nobody would willingly add £100 to their light-lunch bill nor go through the hassle of appealing fines simply because staff can't be bothered to advise visitors. Alas, I have 2 fines (£200) on appeal and I am presently awaiting the outcome. No plans to visit again - why would I?

Fantastic food, excellent prices. We ate here several times on our trip to Falmouth. Amazing choice of pasties at very reasonable prices, hot drinks and cookies. There aren't many places to sit inside but we chose to take our food to the harbour anyway. Delicious, we will return, (again).

We were a party of 6 plus 2 little ones. We all enjoyed the carvery which was very tasty. Good selection of veg and extras. The cauliflower cheese was the best I've tasted. The dessert was lovely too. We all had the sticky toffee pudding and ice cream....delicious. Lovely attentive staff. Nothing was too much trouble. We were made to feel very welcome. We'll definitely return
