my persnal favorite was the rasberry bubble frappe it was delicious i also went for brunch and the food was lovely but the only thing that lets them down is the floor i didnt want to touch the floor

Exterior - badly in need of redecoration. Interior - needs a good clean. Staff - OK. Coffee - average. It's such a shame that this lovely old pub is such a bloody eyesore nowadays.

Called in for my morning coffee. Building scruffy on the outside, inside not much better, carpets need hoovering and ledges need a wipe. However the coffee was nice.

It needs a very good clean. The window sills upstairs were filthy and a good scrub is required. Considering the good position this is in Sidmouth it is at the moment letting the town down.

Been to this Costa a lot and I’ve always had great service there. Drinks are always efficiently served and well made and staff are friendly.

I always use Sidmouth Costa when walking in the town and they are a great team of people always friendly, chatty and professional. Phil and the rest of the team are excellent and a credit to the brand and the town. They have been wonderful during this never ending pandemic and so glad to see them open each day. Love their flat whites.

I have been a regular customer for many years at Costa in Sidmouth & have always found the front of house staff to be great, sadly those staff are let down by a Manager (Phil) who has no people or customer service skills.I rarely if ever make a complaint but sadly today 13/02/21 my patience ran out with the terse attitude of this Manager which I have felt previously on other visits, this guy is supposed to be welcoming, not frosty & charmless.After work, myself & a workmate popped into costa to grab a coffee, while he joined the queue & I just sat down on the stone seat by the food counter as many people often do, without so much as a hello, Phil the manager honed in on me with aggression & said "OFF OF THAT SEAT" offended doesn't cover it but I did retort as I grabbed my workmate to leave & I said "I told you he was a miserable sod"I couldn't help but feel sickened as we left as I did nothing wrong, my workmate honestly thought it was some joke the manager was playing but sadly it was only too real for me, leaving a permanent scar with this Costa, which I won't visit again whilst he is in charge!

I’m generally understanding that some establishment have issues but I was somewhat upset today when I visited costa with my 86 and 89 year old disabled parents Having managed to get one of them seated from a wheelchair I moved an unoccupied chair from the neighbouring table for her to sit down before being berated in a terse manner across the cafe that seats are not to be moved and I should go and look elsewhere for a bigger tableNot easy for someone with limited mobility I’m more than aware of covid etc but moving one chair six feet is not going to start a pandemic Generally the staff are very pleasant but today standards fell well below an acceptable standardPerhaps the member of staff should attend another local cafe on the seafront and take note of how customer service works

Still the best coffee house in Sidmouth When I going in Sidmouth and I want a coffee and a bite to eat then the Sidmouth Costa is the only place Run by an outstanding team led by Manager Phil, the whole experience is great Great service Professional staff Clean establishment Nice ambiance And of course well prepared coffee and scrummy food Outstanding

The customer service was awful, my Frostino wasn't made correctly & when I asked returned the drink, the barista angrily threw the drink in the sink & was not very professional. My partner overheard her say that everyone was complaining about her drinks.I asked for my money back as the Frostino was not to the standard I am used to.

Costa Cafes have always served a great coffee. I had a lovely americano coffee with a bake well tart. I had never ordered pastries before when I picked up a coffee. On this visit, I had some time to spare so I ordered my coffee with a bake well tart. Both were delicious and the staff were very friendly and helpful to a visitor to the UK. Would highly recommend Costa cafes.

Having no WiFi whilst on holiday I went in to this coffee chain. Drink and food were good but what made the difference was the help I was given to get online,the member of staff going the extra mile. It’s not the brand but the people who work there that make the difference

Perhaps it was the thought of working on a sunny Saturday but the staff here were less than welcoming today. They didn't smile, make conversation, just threw our change and spoons down on the tray. I felt we were a real inconvenience - shame as shop is beautifully quirky with old beams and the drinks were to Costa standard.

A good coffee in a very old and quirky building, a delight to visit and very different to the usual style. Small areas with very old timbers, well worth a visit!

Thursday afternoon 27th December been for a walk along Sidmouth seafront, it was a bit blustery and chilly, so time for a warning cup of coffee here.It was not very busy when we visited and we had no problem finding somewhere to sit and we were served straight away. We ordered 2 flat white coffees, £2.70 each, which were promptly made by a very pleasant member of staff.The coffee was really good, full of flavour, just what was needed after our walk along the seafront. The serving and seating areas were clean and well maintained.It is worth a visit here just to take a look at the old building itself with its interesting history. It was previously The Old Ship and believed to be the oldest pub in Sidmouth, with the building dating back to 1350. It became a pub in 1930's and finally a coffee shop in 2011. We sat towards the back of the shop were there is the large old fireplace and wooden beams, certainly got some character.

This Costa is an ideal location for people watching, especially with outside seating. The shop offers all on offer at the Costa chain but with a touch of class that is the excellent, friendly staff.

Always a pleasure to pop in here. Staff friendly and they serve my favourite coffee. Just an ordinary latte but Costa make it so much better for my taste. Treats are always excellent especially the tiffin. There has been as many as five dogs when we’ve been in, but you woukdn’t Know they were there.

Its fair to say we take coffee very seriously in this house, so we were thrilled to find our favourite coffee house in Sidmouth. In true Costa style it doesn’t disappoint, its what you expect with the added bonus of location and being housed in a fantastic 600 year old building. Due to its age (and no doubt listed status) its not very disabled friendly and we struggled to get mum and her stroller through the door and down the steps, so not suitable for wheelchair users. However there is seating outside if you have a companion who can help fetch your coffee.

Compared to other branches this is quite small, but usually quiet and a nice ambience due to the nature of the building it is in. It sells what every other Costa sells and the staff are friendly.

Set in a old pub,pleasant staff,fast service,nice location,clean toilets,lots of seating ,some outside ,some upstairs.

So reliable With a well tuned team lead by Phil the manager, you know you'll get a good service Coffee good Food good Store clean What more can you ask for

Nothing to report ... standard Costa service and quality. There are additional seats upstairs, providing a nice little hideaway for when the weather turns wet ;)

This Costa Coffee café was extremely unusual and not like most others we have visited.It was cosy and quaint and obviously very very old as were the wooden beams. It was nice to see two ladies with their dog enjoying a coffee. It's a pity that other teashops don't allow customers to bring their dogs. We enjoyed our coffee as usual so would definitely visit this place next time we are in Sidmouth.

I thoroughly enjoy Costa's coffee & seek them out where ever we are. This one looks like a very small building with a dark interior in the 'main' street. Had to chance it. Glad we did, usual lovely coffee, reasonable seating; but a wonderful seating space upstairs, quite relaxing. Usual snacks etc. Must have used it every other day!

Stopped off here for a coffee and a sit down with my small grandson, very helpful staff and not too expensive either. Would definitely stop by again when I’m in Sidmouth.

Love the coffee, love the cake, love the fact that I can take my dog inside, love being able to leave my man there while I go shopping!

Coffee in the beach requires good, hot coffee and that is what you get from here. Just ask for extra hot. Never disappointed.

Sidmouth is a really dog friendly town and the Costa coffee was no exception. Warm and cosy with a good selection of coffees and snacks.

Situated in Tesco,their car park is free for 2 hours. Couple of minutes from Seaton tramway building that's currently being built.Offers the usual Costa choice of hot and cold drinks. Loved the strawberry and cream frostino. Has the usual sandwiches, paninis and cakes. Staff excellent and friendly. Ideal place for quick style snack.

Went in there twice , once with my boyfriend and once with my friends. The first time we went In with two small pots of chips and asked for a latte. Instead of the barista politely asking us not to eat chips in the cafe she sarcastically said “do you smell chips because I do”. This is very immature and not how to treat a customer. The second time I went in with my friends and when we ordered they asked us if we wanted to eat it so we said yes! Then we looked around and there were no seats free other than a section that was blocked off by chairs as it wasn’t needed till we came in. They shouldn’t offer us the option to eat in if they aren’t willing to give us a seat! We said to the barista if she could unblock the area and she just looked at us and ignored us so we sat on the floor to prove a point. The barista called us ‘petty’ and ‘childish’ when all we wanted was a seat which for some reason she ignored. Then a couple days later I went in again and was waiting for my drink. The same barista put my drink on the counter and walked away again. With about ten other people waiting I had no idea if this was my drink so I waited and looked at her and she shouted rudely ‘there’s your drink’. There was two other baristas there that said nothing when she was clearly being extremely rude. No one should be employed if they have such poor customer service like that. I now go to other cafes such as Beckets and Taste, absolutely amazing in them and would recommend to anyone!

Good coffee and service, friendly staff. But of late tables not wiped down and milk jugs not properly washed. Disappointing as standards have always been very good in the past.

Very wet End-of-"Summer" visit...absolutely belted it down just before we arrived. Poppy (our dog) was v v happy that she was welcome...we got 2 find drinks, a nice piece of cake and Poppy had a little luke-warm milk...to the delight of a few people watching! All Good.

Staff are excellent and very friendly, nothing too much trouble. Dogs welcome downstairs which was an added bonus as we could go indoors on a chill morning.

Popped in an a sunny day for a quick refill. Truly welcome atmosphere, young and friendly staff, amazing interiors back to Medieval Age. Two storey cafe: ground deck - busy-buzz, however upper deck more spacious and private. Comfortable high armchairs, padded chairs with or without arm rests -I really mean comfortable:). Their French butter croissants with almond filling are delicious - soft and crunchy with a lot of filling. The best I had for ages. Quick turnover, so before you are served, there is a seat free for you. Toilets are kept in a perfect condition - squeaky clean with a lot of fragrance from air refreshers.

First impresions, very dull & unkept.. It's very dark inside and the table don't seem to be cleaned very often. ( I have been a few times but stoped going now). Not a very welcoming place.

A very homily coffee shop with a range of coffees and other drinks ,a lovely range of pastries,croissants etc,service was good and a good atmosphere,in fact we ordered ten pastries and croissants to take home delicious,will definitely visit again next year.

Visitado por un café con la familia. Nada fuera de lo normal, pero el café hasta la altura de la costa. Volumen personal parecen bastante rápidamente que indica satisfacción bajo sueldo bajo o trabajo o ambos. Este franquiciado necesita volver el ethos que se aplicó durante los primeros 12 meses de la inauguración hace algún tiempo. Está bien, pero nada especial, y dada la proliferación de tiendas de café en la ciudad necesita para elevar su juego si es para destacar de la multitud. .

Tengo que decir que estoy un poco arreglé para un café Costa y después de probar algunas de las tiendas de café me sentí aliviado al encontrar una Costa escondido en la high Street. No hay mucho que decir, excepto el café era lo que esperábamos, y una buena relación calidad-precio. La cafetería en sí es bastante pequeño (acogedor) con una pequeña zona de asientos frente al mostrador de servicio y asientos adicionales un poco más. Los baños estaban impecables, que siempre es una ventaja en mis libros, especialmente cuando tengo que llevar a mis hijos a hacer uso de las instalaciones. El personal era muy amable y servicial, el ambiente era muy tranquilo y cómodo aunque estaba lleno y la mayoría de las mesas estaban siendo utilizados.En general,recomendaría este lugar? Sí! Si te gusta la costa te gustará este lugar. Si te gusta la historia, este lugar tiene algo, ya que tiene una barra de soporte de madera original en la pequeña área de descanso que data de más de 600 años. La cafetería es limpio y acogedor. El personal es amable y educado. En términos de precio es probablemente más barato beber aquí que las tiendas locales como a conseguir más bebida para su dinero. Si no estás en franquicias, entonces éste no es para ti. Para mí esto es siempre un ganador. Situado a medio camino de la calle alta es un buen lugar para navegar en otras tiendas, pero también que quedan cerca de la costa.

Situado en un renovado pub histórico muy antiguo, el café sigue siendo el típico de gran calidad bien entrenado barristas mientras el ambiente de la ciudad hace una visita relajante. Me he marcado 5 estrellas pero por la falta de opciones sin gluten para mi esposa y la falta de esfuerzo para rectificar la situación o disculparse. Pero su pantalla blanca es excepcional! !

This is my regular place to go for drinks, I always come here (most days to be honest!) and will always come back. The staff are always friendly and smiling, and make an effort to interact.

I only really drink the hot chocolate here, don't really get on with fancy coffees. They did do a very nice spiced apple a couple of Christmases ago but the one they did this year was far inferior

El año pasado visitamos el antiguo Ship Inn, que estaba un poco descuidado, pero todavía tenía su original encanto rústico. En el momento parecía ser una petición para oponerse a una apertura corriendo pero no están conscientes de que costa había sido un fracaso. Pueden haber perdido un antiguo pub pero ellos no tienen ahora un café super outlet. El interior ha sido renovado, pero conserva su encanto y es con personal amable. Mejor que el promedio de la costa.

Utilizada para visitar este lugar cuando era un pub - pena otro pub es perdido otra cadena de café! Así que, como ve costa, es bastante estándar, un montón de asientos, la cual es cómoda, y las mesas están bastante clara y limpia después de clientes anteriores. El contador del servidor es bastante pequeña, y justo al lado de la puerta, así que puede ser un cuello de botella cuando hay mucha gente. Entiendo que las nuevas instalaciones de cocina se consideran, así que le hará la vida mejor para los clientes y el personal por igual. El café era bueno, así que el de barista, saben lo que están haciendo - la comida es su comida estándar costa, así que se necesitaría hacer para arruinar eso! El personal es amable y cortés, que siempre es un cambio agradable y hace de su visita una experiencia agradable.

Generalmente no post comentarios cuando acabamos de tener un café, pero nuestra experiencia reciente en Costa en Sidmouth era tan bueno, pensé que debe compartirlo.En la mayoría de ramas el café es generalmente de un nivel alto y nuestro favorito, pero lo que diferencia Sidmouth aparte es la actitud del joven personal masculino cuando la visitamos. Todos eran amables, educados y muy atentos y "tenga un buen día" cuando nos fuimos, sonaba como aunque era realmente significaba. Bien hecho, chicos!

Lovely place we walked in with back packs on and were served right away and showed an electric plug in where I could recharge my phone as we were on a ten day hike X my fav cold coffee was lush and petes tea was hot and tasty great chocolate muffin thanks for wonderful service in a clean place xxx

I wasn't really impressed with the Sidmouth Costa Coffee. The staff weren't particularly helpful and wifi is only available if you are on O2,. The main reason I went there was for the free wifi. Coffee good though.

Every time I go in here ( frequently) they are an amazing team always so nice and friendly especially Alex Ritchie he is a great manager, it's always clean tidy and welcoming

Mi lugar favorito para tomar un café, se abren temprano, sabes que vas a conseguir una buena taza de café, coherente y la selección es buena. Una verdadera ventaja para mí es que puedo llevar a mi perro en un día soleado hay sillas afuera. El Cortado es excelente, pero realmente no la comida, hay mejores lugares para picar en Sidmouth.

Lovely relaxed atmosphere & attentive staff greeted us when we stopped here lat sunday, we both went for the freshly battered haddock , chips, peas & salad and that fish was absolutely gorgeous, great vfm.

This is a locals pub with that front room feeling. Absolutely GREAT!! The food was really good, far better than other restaurants I have been here. Definitely give this a go!

Hay que decir que el café de COSTA son geniales este edificio tiene una rica historia, es acogedor con mucho espacio y en el medio de la ciudad de Sidmouth justo para un café en el ir o incluso sentarse y disfrutar de una tarta o un sandwich.

Popped in here for a pre cinema snack and coffee. It is open earlier and closes later than most. Opens at 7am and closes at 6pm in the winter months. Offers consistency and value as it is part of a chain. Worth a visit.

This is a costa coffe shop & has been for about 3 years, I can't understand how people have reviewed it for fish & chips & beer etc amazing!

Had Sunday tea here. Meals were taisty and puddings nice. Good value for money. Staff friendly. Didn't feel rushed. Main part of meal could of been a bit warmer.

Keep going in here as were living in Sidmouth for 6 months and we like Costa coffee.The tables upstairs are filthy! Last week I was upstairs waiting for my hubby to bring our drinks.Our table was dirty and had cups and saucers on it,someone had left a stinking banana skin in one of the cups.A young waitress came up and cleared a couple of tables where no one was sitting but ignored me.I called her over to clear the table and when I asked if she could wipe the table she looked at me as if I`d swore at her.Then said yes i`ll go and get a cloth.Erm ? Why dont you have a spray and cloth with you ?They rarely give out a receipt which I find extremely dodgy.Some sort of fiddle ? The toilets are disgusting.The tables are scratched and have grafitti on them.I think they are getting away with murder because most of the population in Sidmouth are over 75.The difference when you go to any of the Costas in Exeter is just amazing.All the staff are brilliant especially Costas in Debenhams.Seriously Costas get somebody down there to check it out.Ive really had my fill of the place

El café encantador pequeño Costa pedimos un pequeño café con leche que no era bayas bollo caliente y delgada! No tuve que no estoy seguro de qué tenía pero tenía centro de limón! Fui allí para wifi gratuito pero no podría conseguir una señal o jajaja todavía saben es consistentemente café decente, aunque no lo suficientemente caliente

Tuve una cena (pastel de pescado) en el Old Ship Inn. El área de comedor de la habitación estaba bastante concurrido, así que me senté en una mesa en el bar. La comida era muy buena, aunque un poco caro. Había varias cervezas para elegir. En determinadas noches tienen música en vivo.

Popped in for a pre cinema coffee and cake on Tuesday evening. Food, drink and service is consistent. Open until 7pm so handy place to pop in at that time.

Place was clean, service was good. Just had drinks but they were hot and just what we wanted, fancied a cake or snack but they are way to expensive

This Costas is situated in a very old building in Sidmouth with original panels of wood in various places.The building itself is interesting enough but not good as a coffee shop.The old woodworm in the wall panels puts me off and it must be impossible to keep as clean as it should be.I think the idea with the furniture was to make it rustic looking but it just looks like old shabby junk not shabby chic.There is not enough space for the staff to work efficiently behind the counter.There were 4 in there on Saturday and they were literally tripping over each other.The toilets are a disgrace.Outside and very scruffy.The coffee was good as is Costas in most places but I dont like the ambience or the decor inside.

Agradable pub con una buena selección de cervezas y buen menú ... si bordes hacia la cara. Pero las porciones son enormes; se puede simplemente a compartir una comida entre 2.

Nice location, pleasant staff. Babyccino is good value for children. Tables could do with being wiped when we were there, but I can only give you a snapshot of my visit. To be fair, maybe they were about to be wiped clean.

Quick service, had an issue with an order once but the barista apologised and sorted it out quickly, just as I like. Staff always friendly, even when busy, my daughter loves coming in for a babyccino and a marshmellow!

Nos detuvimos en medio día para recogerme de frambuesa y un capuchino y almendra plaza dulce tentación. El personal es muy agradable y una buena taza de café capuchino. El establecimiento también ofrece wifi gratuito que es agradable mientras usted disfruta tratas y tienes la opción de sentarse dentro de en una mesa delante.

Abre temprano así que cuando me paseo temprano por la mañana me puede parar a tomar un café y algo de comer. Una tienda de cadena, para saber qué esperar. El servicio y la comida es coherente y tienen una tarjeta de fidelización. El personal es muy amable y profesional. Creo que es el único abierto que temprano.

El personal necesita ser mucho más agradable y una sonrisa una vez en mucho tiempo.

Sidmouth es una ciudad llena de carácter comercial" y sus calles están llenas de tiendas independientes y no los nombres de los 'High Street habitual. Para comenzar con Costa parecía que se destacan como si no debería estar allí, pero al entrar en había una sensación diferente. El interior, moderno habitual no estaba allí, pero la manera en la que estaba decorado le dio un ambiente cálido y acogedor ambiente y acorde con el resto de la ciudad.

Llamado para café durante una tormenta y me sorprendió gratamente. Café era muy bueno y el personal amable. Nos sentamos arriba y nos encantó el entorno y ambiente. El personal es muy amable y servicial. Este establecimiento está en mi puerta y sin duda que volveré.

Swindled by a Barista who clearly knew what she was doing. She did not tell us the final sub total of the drinks nor printed out a receipt for us, charging £9 for 2 medium sized coolers.

La Costa en Sidmouth es diferente, aunque está en que reside en un edificio que era viejo y lleno de carácter, que solía ser un pub me dijeron. Nos apetecía un café así que pedimos las más grandes. Creo que se llama americanos. Estas ginormous cafés vinieron en enormes tazas que eran tan grandes que requiere dos asas y dos manos al ascensor! Estuvimos allí sólo para café pero Costa también sirve bocadillos y otros dulces. En conjunto, una experiencia muy agradable, excepto por el precio! Los precios del café en el Reino Unido parece ser muy caro comparado con Canadá y EE.UU.
