Quick service and great food as well as prices , good for families 😄

A traditional type Wetherspoon very handy to the railway station and local busses. The pub is a bit dark and dingey. Nice staff and service and the food was good.

Friendly staff, clean toilets, nice food, good beer, reasonable cost. Winner winner chicken dinner.

Not the best wetherspoons I've ever been in, my wife and I sat at a table for two but the couple on the next table were that close they might as well have been sat with us on our table. Not much room at all the tables are far too close ,I suppose this is to accommodate more people.

Meal deals between 2pm and 5pm ..cod and chips was great

A well located pub with parking just across the road (with ev chargers). Great service and food spoilt by loud foul language from a few locals. Shame.

Usual Wetherspoons quality food and menu. We use Wetherspoons a lot and keep hoping there will be more Vegetarian meals on the menu, there are a lot of us about (& vegan) but we don't get enough choice. Please, please could you offer an alternative to baked beans with the breakfasts, so unfair to those of us who can't eat them!

The smallest Wetherspoons I've walked into. It may be small but the food was good. Outside space at the front of the pub one side smoking one side not. It was very busy.

Having read a previous review and the note that The Powder Monkey was a "Particularly good 'spoons", I had high hopes, but these were dashed on arrival. Staff appeared to be at 6's &7's chatting amongst themselves, over chatting with customers, tables were sticky, layout seemed very squashed up. I won't be plugging this venue, or returning in a hurry. I hope we just visited on an off day!

The Powder Monkey (Wetherspoons) in Exmouth is a great venue. The food is really good and inexpensive. The staff are friendly but service can be a frustratingly slow when staff are doing other things.

Ordered curry as part of the curry club offer. Food was delicious and came really quickly. My friend messed up their order on the app and put the wrong table number on it - I advised the staff and they rectified this quickly and we're really friendly. Only downside was that it was really busy (to be expected, it was dinner time) but there was a group nearby that were borderline shouting whilst talking, and half of them were stood up in the walkway rather than sitting and so were encroaching on our space. Made it hard to talk so we moved table.

Second visit in a week. Saturday evening whilst quite crowded was able to find a table, Tuesday lunchtime plenty of room, ordered food and drink on the app and the service was quick and the food was hot and good for the price.

Spoons does it again. Great for us to pop in for a late lunch. Good choice and service was excellent. Very busy but we didn't wait long for our order. Brilliant.

As far as Spoons go, this was a strange one - you have good Spoons (yes, surprising, I know) and mediocre ones. This was pretty rubbish. The atmosphere was dire. The food didn't look great either. Only had a pint and left sharply. The whole place felt very cramped and was hard to get around the high chairs/tables. I won't be back to this Spoons in a hurry. Others outshine themselves, this one didn't, unfortunately.

Cheap, fast and friendly. Good beer choice and very friendly atmosphere.

To be honest, this has to be the most cramped Weatherspoons I've ever been in. There are lots of high tables which make it difficult to navigate to the booths with pushchairs, kiddies and less able-bodied folks. There were end stools at each boots too which a couple of us practically fell over. Food and service were fine, but it felt like they were trying to fit far too many seats in the space available. I won't be rushing back, but if we are in Exmouth and fancy a refillable hot drink or fancy our cheap and cheerful favourites we possibly would try again.

Can't complain it's a good spoons

Exactly what you'd expect for Wetherspoons, in terms of great value and standard food. Staff here are helpful and nice too. The hall can get packed easily but the side rooms are spacious and cosy. Clean and all. Nice place to work remotely in the mornings, too.

We live in Paignton my husband and I and often take a train ride from Paignton to Exmouth..Our first stop 🛑 is always there we love it .

Went for the curry night and it was ok. Two pints of doombar for under £4 was good though. Staff are really efficient and no queues and the open fires are a nice touch. Can get busy according to when you visit and as it's only on one floor you can overhear other peoples conversations. Just a typical wetherspoons really!

I want to say how excellently we were treated by the helpful & pleasant staff and the manageress when we came in a group of over 20 for our Christmas eve breakfast. It was excellent value and a warm hospitable atmosphere. All in all, brilliant.

Close to the centre, outdoor seating, friendly staff, lots of seating. Easy atmosphere.

Affordable food and drinks. You get what you pay for. Staff are always friendly and helpful.

Wasn't too sure about going there for breakfast, but wow, what an amazing cooked breakfast. I had the freedom breakfast, and I got 2 eggs, 2 bacon, 2 hash browns, 2 tomatoes, 2 mushrooms, and beans, all for the offer price of £2.99. Normally around £4.59 I think. Very nice and tasty. Wish I'd bothered to go in there a long time ago. Lavazza coffee Decaf for £1.56 refillable. What's not to like.

There may be better pubs in the world but Spoons can afford to have the fire on all day (not just in evening for 'the locals') and serve £2 pints of local ales and main courses under £20. Strong offering given current weather+ financial conditions). Say what you like about Spoons but you know why they're so popular. Nb look up Moon Underwater/Orwell's perfect pub 😉

The hall was full. But the service is at the highest level. Everything was quickly cleaned and our order was brought to us. I recommend tasting the Christmas menu.

Typical Wetherspoon fayer. Won't set the world alight but cheap and cheerful. The staff were very friendly.

This particular branch of the Wetherspoons partnership distinguishes itself by creating a unique and lively ambience. I encountered no issues with the quality of my meal or beverages, and the staff maintained their high standards even during peak hours. An easy decision to return in the near future

Typical spoons. Low cost, low expectations. Free hot drinks refills are great value. Wrap was nice tasty, made quickly, and cheap. This spoons looks old and tired with dirty seats. Good for cheap drinks.

Like all Witherspoons good value

Both me and my wife had the Buttermilk Chicken Burgers - both agreed they were very tasty and good value for money. Only complaint were the gents toilets. One of lavs was blocked and the other had no lock. Cannot understand how this is not addressed if they are inspected regularly

Quick visit to Exmouth so popped into Spoon's for a couple of Stella's before kicking off later (lol)!! Both the service at the bar and delivery to table through the app were painless and pleasant.

Stayed in Exmouth for a few days and the powder monkey was one of the best pubs for drinks ,service and atmosphere. The staff work so hard and are very polite and friendly. Particular thanks to Stephen and Freya lovely staff and great ambassadors for this pub and the weatherspoon brand.

Breakfast was lovely for the money

As ever, we can rely on weatherspoons for a good value meal and a a drink. I often wonder what the average age of us who frequent these pubs is? I feel so much st home among my fellow 70 plus year olds.....😍

Have been in Powder Monkey over the years & always been happy with service but last time I went in I had a JD with Coke (my usual) & they filled the glass up to the top with Coke & totally ruined it, I think they should ask how much coke you want & not assume

Always visit here when in the area, and have always found it pleasant, the manager seems to run the place very well. However this visit was not so pleasant. The Gents Toilets absolutely stunk of stale pee. It was that bad, you could smell it as soon as you got to the bottom of the stairs, the nearer to the Toilets you got the worse the smell got. Eventually I had to leave, I couldn't face the stench anymore. It probably explains why the pub was the quietest I had ever seen it.

We have called in here several times in recent months, usually for a drink or two before the train home after a day out. On one recent visit we also ate there, the meal was well presented and good value. We have visited many Wetherspoons over the years. The Powder Monkey is a popular town centre pub usually busy when we visit. On a sunny day the small front courtyard is often full. I have found the staff to be a helpful friendly team. Occasionally the place is a bit untidy after a very busy spell, but we have never had a problem finding a clean empty table.

Nice place for a drink didn't try the food.

Spent the evening here with my partner we didn't feel that hungry so ordered chicken goujons when the food arrived the chicken was raw lucky enough I noticed before I ate it. Complained to the managers and all I got was "ill have a word" you need to do more than that when you're serving raw poultry.

It’s Wetherspoons so you know what you’re getting - cheap booze and a long walk to the toilet!

Although the price of a pint is great, you still expect to get a full pint.... So when I asked for my pint to be topped up, the bar lady got offended.... Sorry but with weights and measures, the cost of living you can't expect that a 5cm head is acceptable.... That's 10% of the pint gone in froth......

Very good place, we went yesterday, ordered on the app and sat outside. Very nice experience, no birds interrupting us due to the netting (very good) drinks came within 5 mins of waiting and the food came shortly after that. Good food, everythjng was nicely prepared and was very hot when it came to us :) great place

Typical Witherspoons pub, good value food and drinks. We visit a lot of Witherspoons and usually are always a good place to stop off for food. Only issue with the Powder Monkey is it is looking very tired and not very clean.

Started well, but they stopped serving us. They said it was a family pub. My cousin told them we were a family, but it didn't matter. I don't think we were being very loud, compared to e.g. a screaming kid. It was the start of the day, so we weren't drunk. By all means, go there. Just don't look like you're having fun.

Couldn't go in as we had our dog with us. 😩

Had a few pints here on Monday, was pleasantly surprised at the cost £1.99p for Real Ale,who can complain about that,when earlier I was down the Marina paying over £5.00p a pint,for inferior Beer,but then i must say its the Location you are paying for there ,not the Beer!!

Called in for a drink unusually quite, service was very good the place was tired and grubby in the end we sat outside.

Go there often. Rob is amazing on service, he runs round the place like a fly. Nicole is so lovely, Steven is amazing laugh n a joke. Suzie goes out of her way to table check, the girls incredible. As for the food. You get what you pay for not really true. The food is 8/10 my only issue was presentation..but only once

The title says it all really. You know that a Wetherspoons is a Wetherspoons, in Exmouth or anywhere. It is Pubgrub, plus well known brands of liquid refreshment, efficiently served in a pleasant and functional interior, at a reasonable price. What more can you say? Apart from that major Credit Cards are accepted.

Good place, good food but as soon as i saw the wrinkled old goblin in the glasses i knew shed power trip on me at some point. The short old guy also likes to kick people out for not being wealthy enough for their establishment. Nice place but got to watch it with staff..

Probably the worst Wetherspoons we've been to. Food quality was awful and the place was not clean at all.
