Took 30 minutes to get our first drink and about 45 minutes to get our food order, food was basic at best and my pizza was dry and just had pepperoni on it, very basic and not very nice. Finished food and they left our plates on the table for one hour, waited for 2nd round of drinks for over 45 minutes, at which point we asked for the bill due to the delay. The staff had a no care attitude, we’re totally disorganised and completely chaotic. When you come for a meal whilst being on holiday you expect professional standards and a restaurant to want their customers to have a nice time, neither applies in this case. Worst restaurant experience I’ve had in many years - avoid at all costs!!

Our first visit since it reopened as Lazy Jacks was on a Saturday evening. The place was buzzing with a much younger vibe than before and great new decor. It was warm so we sat out on the deck. Pizzas were excellent. The wait staff were great but my only criticism would be they were a bit run off their feet and could do with some help. As a result service was a little slower than it should be

This place made our recent holiday to Sandbanks. The weather was not in our favour but we stumbled across Lazy Jacks and loved it. The name is apt because the place has a relaxed feel but it's also a destination with a buzzy atmosphere. Somewhere we wanted to be. The food was excellent (superb fish and chips!) and our experience was really made by the wonderful Emma, who looked after us beautifully. Thank you!

Lazy Jacks is a refreshed restaurant located in a boat yard. Great decor with good food and wine options and sea glimpses. Like most restaurants they are clearly struggling with staff to provide a service standard reflected in the price of their food and drinks.

Absolutely awful service. Staff very rude and obviously have no common sense or manners. Waited for over 20 minutes to be served. When tried to order food and drinks we were told kitchen closed. Asked for drinks but none arrived. Was disgusted by the attitude of the ‘staff’. The manager needs to re train all staff members or maybe try to employ people who have a brain. I spoke to one family who had been waiting for over 30 minutes for their food which never arrived. THIS CAFE NEEDS SERIOUS ATTENTION AND DECENT STAFF.

Having walked from Bournemouth we were ready for a bite to eat, a quick google bought up The Boatyard Cafe, we opted for this rather than the cafes on the main road as we thought it’d be quieter- we were right! It’s in a lovely spot and the place looks smart, I imagine it gets quite busy at peak times. We sat outside in the sun and shared a ‘veggie’ platter, the food was good except one of the breads had chorizo in. We didn’t complain as it didn't bother us enough, though for some this would be more problematic. We all enjoyed cake after and the drinks were good too. The staff were friendly and welcoming, we would visit again if we were in the area.

In the end we waited over 1 hour and not even served a drink during this time, Tables next to us said the food that did arrive was not good, we gave up and left. Food took a lifetime to arrive & we were told the chef was very busy, but were only about 6 customers in the cafe including us 4. When the food did arrive the 2 burgers had mould on the bread. We were told they were a fresh batch ‘from the freezer’ - very disappointing. They took the 2 burgers off the bill. 4 drinks and 2 other lunch meals came to £40, pretty deer. All in all it’s a lovely spot for some coffee if you’re not in a rush but there’s other places in the area which get it spot on.

Location is delightful because it’s away from the crowds but there is a la k of attention to detail here. I get the fact that this is boatyard and they wanted to beach out and make more money, but there is no wow factor which there so could be. Why not offer exceptional bread/toast rather than ordinary and instead of bringing a tea bag with hot water to the table (allowing it to cool), how about putting it in the water so that it can benefit from steeping? In fact, how about a really high quality tea rather than the ordinary if charging relatively high prices?

We went to the Boatyard cafe on Saturday morning on a bank holiday weekend. The inside was busy and so we sat outside, I understand that they were short staffed and had a new chef, eventually we ordered coffees after 20minutes of waiting, another staff member came out, apologised and started to take our order, I requested the smoked salmon and scrambled eggs, I was told that there was no smoked salmon, I asked whether there was any gluten free options for bread, she went to check.......15 minutes later the original waiter came out and said there wasn't, I ordered the full English but again as they had run out of gluten free sausages I ordered extra bacon. My wife ordered the avocado on a muffin....ah, there were no muffins!! Clearly the weekend order hadn't been done and this was now turning into a fawlty towers sketch. We ordered what was available and more tea and coffee.Meanwhile the outside dining area was full, 20 mins, no more drinks, 30 mins breakfast and drinks arrive. We arrived at this cafe at 1.30pm having seen the rave reviews but hadn't made a booking. There were a few tables available. We seated ourselves and collected some menus ourselves as the two serving staff seemed busy. The service was very slow. We were advised that there was practically no food left?!?!? The kids wanted a kids pasta pesto dish. They couldn't do this. Neither could they offer us a sharing platter. They were all out of everything apparently (the first Sunday of half term week at 1.30pm?!?!?). We resigned ourselves to a light lunch and chose the only thing that seemed to be available- a bowl of chili squid and a bowl of fries for the children and some drinks. The food took over 30 mins to arrive and when it did, I have to say, we were pretty appalled. The squid looked like old bits of rubber boot! (Obviously re-fried to re-heat multiple times). The chips were ok.We didn't say anything. The staff didn't seem happy , the chef was clearly run off his feet (we assume) and the restaurant was all out of food! Hugely disappointing. We left hungry. We visited today with family for Sunday lunch. The cafe is somewhere between a restaurant and a cafe, situated in a boat yard, true to its name, you don't get harbour views but it's very comfortable and smartly furnished. Dogs are allowed in and the deck has some great sofas, tables and stools. My double baked lamb roast was very nice, well presented, a balanced portion with the veg, but I'm preprogrammed to expect a large sunday roast and @ £15.95 it was not great value for money in terms of portion. The local clientele in Sandbanks will not be short of a cash and the Boat Yard Cafe is priced accordingly. The Salmon tagliatelle looked great and the kids menu was pretty good including ice-cream (vanilla only). Coffee is also very nice. My recommendation is to go for breakfast, great pancakes, more reasonably priced and just as tasty.

My family was probably lucky to get in to the Boatyard having booked just an hour in advance on a Friday over the Easter holiday. Consequently we were put on a table right next to the band which, to be fair, we were warned about when we booked. The café was packed and the noise level was very high even when the band was not on. The other consequence of being full was that the service was slow - it took a considerable time even to get our drinks on the table as there only seemed to be two people serving. However, the food and drink that we got we enjoyed and overall it was a pleasant evening. It would be great to go back when not quite so busy!

We were a family of 4 , staying in Sandbanks wanting an early dinner on a Saturday night and this was fine. Nice decor , a view of the boatyard (clue in the name !). It was very quiet , so service was prompt , and my fish and chips were good. The pizza my children ordered was excellent I discovered on sampling ! For a 3 minute walk from our holiday house , this did the job and we will return this holiday.

Great place, great location, very friendly staff and excellent food, however, the meal was spoilt because of the smell of damp dogs. The restaurant welcomes dogs and is quite compact so two dogs in the restaurant gave it a particular odour which sadly overpowered a lovely meal. Great place for dog owners but not for anyone who does not want to eat with dogs.

Being the only smart cafe in Sandbanks, it's obviously going to be popular with the locals - Harry Redknapp was there the day we visited. If you can afford to live in Sandbanks, then you will not worry about the prices charged in the cafe, but having said that, we thought they were reasonable, given the waterfront position. It's a shame you don't actually have a view of the harbour. They serve good coffee and the food is reasonable, but if you want better quality you now have Rick Stein's restaurant just along the road - with harbour views. We found the service was a little slow, but perhaps it would have been better if we were regulars.

I notice a previous review states if your not regular you will get left overs,I completely agree with this statement after winning two breakfast tickets here me and my mum were very much looking forward to our visit, on arrival the eldest waitress was who we met first and a polite hello or smile would have been nice but nope just told shed be with us in a bit, the younger lady who served us was very friendly, food was poor due to it all being cold we were one of the first in yet last to have our order taken, breakfast took half hour to get to table well i think it was waiting in kitchen as that is only explanation for it being so cold,we have been asked to review from where we won tickets, we wont be returning or recommending very disappointed. If your not a regular id stay clear much nicer places x

Called in with my wife on Saturday night. Usual bunch of posh drunk people. Paid £8.70 for a large glass of white wine. I know this is Sandbanks but £3.50 more is too much. Don't go!

A really quirky but modern cafe and bar just of Panamera Road Sandbanks sits on the edge of the slipway for the Sandbanks Boatyard (obviously). Really friendly staff and environment with live entertainment during the summer. Nice food great choice of beers and a lovely place to enjoy one of the best views.

3 friends and I booked more than 1 week ahead for a Friday night dinner. On arriving at 7.30pm, 4 items off the (already limited) menu had already sold out. Most of the other tables seemed to be occupied by locals/regulars and they had lovely looking food and modern fine wine glasses.Based on what we could see other diners eating, 2 of us ordered the hake and expected a plump, white, juicy fillet each. What we actually received were 2-3 tail portions each, clearly the off cuts from the other diners' fillets. Our wine then was served to us in cheap supermarket glasses, completely different to the other diners. We did raise this point with the manager and were given a single measure of a liqueur each and some drivel about the dishwasher only washing 4 glasses at a time......This is a restaurant who clearly value their regulars (even allowing their dogs up at the tables) but if you're visiting the area and looking for a friendly local eatery, do not book here.

Found this place from the Trip Advisor app while visiting Sandbanks for the first time. Was a totally spot on experience, good service, nice location with outside space, and a menu to suit most peoples taste. Outside seating in the sun is a bit limited, so very likely you'll be sitting inside if the suns out!

Lovely setting and layout of the cafe, with friendly staff but overall poor service. For the most part it was only our table of 3 and another table of 4, but after about 20minutes we had to ask to order our food, this order was then confirmed twice with us, and yet only 2 out of 3 orders were put through, and our drinks were forgotten about, twice. When we finally received our meals, the food was highly disappointing, with the worst Caesar salad I've ever had.So overall a lovely restaurant but is in desperate need of better management as has a lot of potential.

So after a 4hour journey, all we wanted was food and wine, and the boatyard provided. We have two sharing boards to start with, that came with very cute mini loaves of bread. I then had the Hallumi salad, PJD a burger and my mum the fish and chips. My salad was amazing. Just a heads up the side portion of fries was huge!!!! There was live music which made it hard for a conversation, but there is just something lacking from the place. Staff were nice but not exactly friendly or attentive. I would happily go again but not if i wanted a meal instead of food and drinks, if that makes sense.

We organised an Indian themed evening private party as a charity event and had a fantastic time. Everyone made such an effort and even the staff dressed in Indian costumes to complete the aptmosphere. The food was superb and very reasonable and everyone enjoyed the evening with attentive friendly staff. they could not have done more. Great night, thank you.
