Apart from a musty smell throughout the room, everything is clean as it should be! Very friendly staff 👍

Met up with some friends over from Australia. Very welcoming and food was fabulous and nothing seemed any trouble for the staff. Highly recommend eating there.

Had a lovely Sunday roast dinner at the antelope, lovely staff and fantastic meal!

Popped in on a Sunday and they had their smart phone quiz. Max, the host very welcoming and knowledgeable. Apparently free at the moment with a view to starting properly in December. If local or in the area check it out, fun to be had. 😊

Had a fabulous meal in the Antelope Restaurant. Great service with helpful and friendly staff. Menu had plenty of choices and we both thoroughly enjoyed our meals. Many thanks to all and we look forward to seeing you in November. Sue B xx

Good food great people and service

Food was amazing but service was very slow, had to ask 3 time for water on the table and our drinks we ordered were sat on the bar for 15 mins whilst staff were chatting. One staff member was quite rude.

Ordered gammon and two other meals , the gammon was undercooked and raw on the inside , its basic cooking and they failed , wouldn’t return again

Whilst the staff here have been superb,the rooms here are very run down,in ours the bath is chipped, the bathroom floor covering is lifting, the furniture is old and looking tired. Also faults that were pointed out last year have not been repaired. The bar area is the same, chairs creak and groan, upholstery sagging and worn, the lower staircase handrail moves, the lampshade is broken and rickety, basically the whole hotel needs a lift.

Had the steak and ale pie which really filled me up, so much so I had no room for pudding. This is a shame because I do like their crumble.

I took my cat for one night,they were very accommodating,had a lovely meal in the dining room,slept well,it was very quiet , 🌹

A couple of really poor experiences now - used to love the place. Twice now with no cask beer on tap and rude staff. What has happened?!?

change in my previous 5* review to a 1* due to the fact you lost your car park, left your signs up and now have a fine 👍🏻 your staff couldn’t give a toss. Disgraceful.

Having seen favourable reviews I arranged to meet family members holidaying in Swanage, for lunch at the Antelope. I chose the rump steak, which was well cooked and good value. Two lasagne couldn't be served as only one available. An alternative choice, Hunter's Chicken was disappointing with the barbecue sauce being sickly sweet. Chicken in the basket was very dry and the hard thick batter needed to be prised off of the chicken. The fries were very dark and looked over-cooked. The one lasagne wasn't something to relish either. Service was good, prices were reasonable but food other than the steak, was unfortunately just about adequate but certainly not something to rush back for. Sorry Antelope, we were looking forward to it.

Slow service- I think they forgot we were there. Several meals on the menu were unavailable (mine and mom’s first choices). Mediocre meal, dads gammon was cold, Wayne’s came missing several items, moms fish looked like it had been refried. Waitress excuse “we were busy” 😡All in all very disappointing.

On our recent visit for a meal the staff were welcoming to us and our dog. Our meals were very good and tasty. They cooked something special for the dog, which we were pleased with.

Good food and George is a great waiter.

Ate at restaurant. First meal our kids loved after almost two weeks of lunches & dinners in England. Adults were very happy too. Very reasonably priced. Can’t recommend this place enough.

Lovely helpful staff, central, quiet after 11. Restaurant/pub right underneath serving tasty fresh food all day with plenty of vegan options. Pet friendly! The building is old and the rooms are a little run down and need a refresh (torn sheets, broken shower head, old ventilation in the bathroom etc) but otherwise it’s a pleasant stay.

Stopped in the pub for a drink and made the snap decision to eat. We were taken through to a lovely restaurant in the rear of the building and seated. There was a fair range of good looking food options, all looked appealing. The beer and drink options were also very broad. Our meals were fantastic (would recommend the pate starter and the pork belly). The experience was topped off by fantastic table service from the whole team (especially a server I think was named George). Would highly recommend if looking for a lovely bite to eat away from the busier Quay front.

Dinner for a family of 7 with children, lovely service provided by George our waiter he was very polite, attentive & friendly. Food was amazing!

A really nice pub and hotel, restaurant, with a courtyard garden. Friendly atmosphere, accomodation needs freshening up. Central to everything.

Excellent and speedy service. Zara was excellent and would recommend here for food, staff and food are great.

Booked the restaurant for 11am but when we turned up they weren't even open! When we eventually found someone they said they were just opening but food isn’t served until 12pm. We are so confused, they supposedly serve breakfast and you can book tables online from 8am onwards. We went elsewhere, wont be returning. edit: thank you for your reply, however this is not clearly shown on your website or posters outside the pub. If you do not serve food/drinks at 11am then why are you able to book a table? No where does it state that breakfast finishes at 10am. Extremely unclear and the posters on the walls outside are false advertisement.

Great staff, nice food and beer

A friendly pub. It's a pity the sports TV's dominate. They only need one. The food is excellent. The staff are excellent but can be lazy about going to fetch a mixer they've run out of at the bar. I like it here very much, but please get rid of a TV. Avoid on a Saturday evening unless you want to be deafened by a tribute CD played by a man in a glittery jacket. The food is good.

I went in for a pint as I usually do and i have to say this is my favourite pub to go to each weekend, with such friendly and welcoming staff. Callum is especially friendly and always has a chat with me when i come in and is a great laugh. Wouldn’t recommend anywhere anymore than The Antelope.

Had a weekend lunch with family; everyone (4 of us) was happy with their meal, the prices were fair and the staff were helpful, capable and friendly. All good. As it was a nice day we sat outside in a pleasant garden, but inside looked good too. We’ll be going back again soon.

Really enjoyed our meals we had here, the staff were very friendly and very attentive to all your needs. All our meals were very well prepared and arrived hot and very nicely presented. Everything was very reasonably priced and the atmosphere was very pleasant. Will definitely be revisiting on our return to Poole.

Coming from the Cherbourg ferry, this was a convenient option. Very friendly, rooms are nice but lack temperature control. Great breakfast selection.

Brilliant hotel room very large plenty of space lovely shower in the room television as well tea and coffee in room and the breakfast was lovely plenty of choices and our favourite was the salmon and scrambled eggs they were delicious and a big thank you for the lovely staff and especially the cleaners did a excellent job cleaning the rooms will be back again shortly

Stayed here overnight and was really pleased with our stay. Rooms were clean, beds large and comfy, and staff were really friendly and couldn't do enough for us. We had an evening meal there which was really tasty, and breakfast was beautifully cooked. Only downside - stairs!!!, but that was our fault for not checking if the room access was disabled friendly

We had a lovely lunch today at The Antelope. The service was fantastic and our server Zara was great with the children and dealt really well with the allergy in our group, giving us the relevant information so we could choose suitable food. Everyone enjoyed their food and we will definitely be back! We didn’t stay in the hotel so can’t rate the rooms.

Looks better than it tastes, the pastry was not fully baked, not sure if this is the favorite pub of my Kevin Heutschi

Like all pubs in Poole this one is good for social meetings and a quiet drink with friends. Also they do good food. Had a small meal it was very good. Keep it up.

The Antelope is a great place to eat, drink, or stay, on Poole high street. We had midday and evening meals several times, served by the wonderful hostess Zara, and were impressed every time. My mom and I can recommend the fish & chips, pot pie, and Sunday roast, which were all delicious. The pub downstairs is a little bit pricey compared to others around the corner along the quay, but the comfy atmosphere and kind staff make it well worth it. The rooms are clean, adequately priced for what you get. I recommend the Antelope for solo or dual travellers on a budget, who want to be near the quay and high street for the shopping and nightlife.

I have just had an amazing stay this hotel has charm and a great atmosphere all of the staff are happy and helpful the room was large comfortable and spotless and the food was delicious especially the breakfast which offered lots of choice and was incredible value !

Tracey, behind the bar, was really friendly and very helpful. We had drinks and food, spicy Asian pork belly that my OH thought was stunning and I had mac n cheese that was lovely. Definitely recommend and we will be back.

All the staff very professional,but with a calm relaxed manner, that puts you at ease as a solo traveller. Great surroundings,exposed beams and brickwork, giving an historical atmosphere to add to the dining experience . Food was really tasty, I had the salmon hollandaise sauce, poached egg and new potatoes roasted, Blackcurrant crumble with custard for desert was delicious,lastly,the Merlot was good value spot on! Can't send pictures,I've cleaned the plates!

Have booked but not stayed yet. Be careful upon checkout you'll be offered a bunch of different vouchers. The Beer/Wine52 ones are a "scam" you'll be offered a free pack but it will actually take your credit details for a subscription which renews every month. Make sure to cancel it if you opt for that.

Stayed here for two nights not a bad place but it is a Green King chain pub. It is in need of a makeover. The rooms were very tired with dirty paint and torn wallpaper a huge amount of dust in between the pleats of the curtains the bed was rock hard but that's me others may appreciate it. We ate at the restaurant which was particularly cold having to move our chairs next to the radiator in-between courses to keep warm. Unfortunately, they were unable to add prawns to my Thai curry instead of chicken despite having prawn Languine and prawn cocktails. Staff were very pleasant but it felt like they were held back by the chains of Green kings how to run a pub and don't you dare try to bend the rules . I also know that Green King send in secret shoppers to try to catch the staff out and it can sometimes be for very minor issues but this makes for an uncomfortable employment as I observed !! Great for wondering around Poole Quay and a stone's throw from the town centre shopping area. All in all, not a bad pub in an excellent location.

Christmas Dinner, Big group, usually hard to cater for, handled with ease. We loved it, the kids loved it. Thank you everyone involved.

Good hotel right next to Poole quay , friendly staff and good food. Check in was easy, bar staff lovely , as were breakfast staff. No complaints :)

The antelope is always our go-to place, reasonably priced and the staff are always lovely and welcoming, nothing is too much trouble. Food is always great and atmosphere is very casual and homely - so much nicer than other pubs on the quay. Only thing I wish would be for outside heaters to make the outdoor experience better in winter!

Popped in for a meal on the off chance, we didn’t have a booking but we were lucky enough to be able to be seated. Staff were friendly and attentive, and the menu had a lot choice had something for everyone (which made choosing what to eat hard as we saw various dishes coming out to other tables and jt all looked delicious). We finally settled on our choices and ordered. Food was brought out relatively quickly, was hot and very yummy and portions were generous. Staff were really lovely and made us feel relaxed. Will definitely be coming back again soon.

Really enjoyed my Christmas meal. The service was great, very attentive and kept things moving really well. The food was delicious. The whole evening was relaxed and easy.

Went to the Antelope for our Christmas meal, absolutely loved it. Great food, great atmosphere, great pricing and amazing service. (Great beers too!) Would highly recommend it for any visit, whether a large meal or just a quiet pint.

Having visited The Antelope Restaurant for the first time this past October, I was genuinely taken aback by the wonderful experience it offered. From the moment we walked in, the staff was simple the best. It's rare to find a place where every member of the team seems genuinely invested in making your experience memorable. Now, onto the food - and let me tell you, fantastic. My wife and I started with the Halloumi Fries, which were perfectly crispy on the outside and delightfully soft inside. For our mains, we opted for the Grilled Salmon Florentine and the Award-Winning British Beef & Ruddles Ale Pie. Each dish was a testament to the chef's expertise - bursting with flavor and cooked to perfection. The pie, in particular, was a standout, perhaps the best I've ever had.

We recently had a number of teams come together for a Christmas Celebration at the Antelope Hotel Pub & Restaurant. I was instantly impressed by the warm welcome and choice of drinks on offer. The Pub was both friendly and cosy with welcoming vibes from the off. The tables were set up really nicely although a little tight on space due to us being quite a large party. The staff went out of their way to be helpful and fulfil our requirements. The food was excellent both served in good time and hot, they did a great job of serving us all promptly and I think it is some of the best food I have been served in a pub. The menu was just right with a great amount of choice and every dish seemed to have been given a high level of attention to detail. Which must have been quite a challenge when serving so many! The pricing was also to be commended as the food was great value considering the time of year as many places hike their prices which was not the case. Really enjoyed the evening that we spent at the Antelope from start to finish, Great food and Drinks without silly prices and friendly efficient staff what more could you ask for.

Wow wow wow. 16 years of Xmas do’s for my work in Poole and this had to be the best yet! A great experience and so Christmassy with proper old world charm. Traditional decoration and music and a wonderful comfortable ambience. We arrived an hour early and had fun in the pub before being seated bang on time. The tables were festive and the staff happy to be there. Value for money - I’m sure I didn’t need to eat all weekend. Such good quality doesn’t normally come in good portions. Food for our table of 30 came out together, warm and beautifully presented for all 3 menus. I could finish my Xmas pudding though. Great price for bottles of Prosecco too. Always good not to feel ripped off. £15.99 is a really reasonable cost Jess was so much fun when doing the booking. So helpful for such a large group. Nothing too much trouble. She appreciated that it’s a lot of money for people to spend unlike some of the other local restaurants. On the night we had people drop out which really messed up the bill but I was so impressed with how patient the team were. Thanks Sam! After the meal we moved back to the bar for the live music when normally we would go on a pub crawl. Great night and blue light discount too!! Well done Greene-King. The antelope is a credit to you. A wonderful Christmas experience

Went with my work department for our Christmas dinner. Great atmosphere and the staff were really friendly. Good choice for somewhere to book for your whole team! Very accommodating with our last minute booking and for a really reasonable price.

Went for a Sunday roast. Well, the new roast was excellent meat moist roast very crisp, the stick toffee pump and custard rounded it off nicely. Good service and very dog friendly

We went to The Antelope in Poole for lunch. Very friendly staff, quick service. We had Sunday Roast and it was delicious. Lovely firm veggies, nice roasties, I had 3 meats Roast and omg they were very tender. Huge compliments to the Chef!! Above all is how dog friendly they're!! My Labs had lots of fuss and they had sausages. They provide dog bowls, water and also dog ice creams and treats. Highly recommended!!!

I thought everything was amazing the service was unreal young lad Andry was an amazing waiter 10/10. You ll fall in love with the place including him. My daughter who is 19 has a crush on him.

What a lucky find we were staying at local premier Inn, was looking for something to do on wet Friday night. We stumbled across this gem in poole. Staff was great really friendly and funny, older lady and nice large man(might be landlord) food was great so much better than premier Inn service good and after great music with a tribute act. We have already booked to stay here in December. I can't recommend it highly enough so enjoyable

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. Service was top level. Staff were so attentive and helpful Food was to die for! Upon reading the insert titled “weekly deals” stated a gorgeous offer on steak for 2 with wine for only £30! Really worth the money. Steak cooked perfectly. Cannot say a bad word absolutely will be back!
