The welcome and service was amazing, the food was delivered to the table quickly and was piping hot. Fantastic quality and very enjoyable.

We decided to pay a visit to the Shah today for cooked lunch. Didn't book,but were greeted by very friendly staff. I opted for the mixed grill, while my wife chose a rump steak. Got to say probably one of the best mixed grills I've ever had. Everything was spot on. My wife didn't have any problems either. Nice background music,and staff very attentive. Will definitely be paying another visit. Well done.

Dinner with family last sunday and wow just wow! the staff are so friendly, Molly our server was delightful and really cared for us. Would recommend to friends and family.

Many of the items on the menu was not available. We waited over half an hour for food to arrive. Our food was cold and very disappointing considering the pub was empty you would expect the food to come out faster and hot. We were offered free desserts as compensation but we were still disappointed. We were out celebrating my husband’s birthday a table of 6 I don’t think any of us will go back in a hurry.

We came as support workers with our two clients with complex needs, and the staff couldn't have been more helpful, we were sat at a regular table, not hidden away in a corner like some pubs. Food was also amazing and service was super efficient. Will definitely go back, not just in a work capacity either. Really impressed.

We visited recently. The staff were polite. The place was clean. We ordered a tuna and cheese and a hunters chicken sandwich. With this we had a tea and decaf coffee. Unfortunately, the sandwiches were very poor and basic. The hunters chicken was obviously out of a microwave and had hard piece in. The bacon was also under cooked in places. The Tuna sandwich was ok but everything was very basic. I know there are options to add extras but I think some garnish on the plate and seasoning as standard would benefit these greatly. The chips we had were warm at best. The tea was very bitter but the coffee was ok. All in all a very disappointing experience.

Specials of the day EXCELENT steak and drink for 15 quid bargain, tender steak. Room clean, comfy bed, refreshments, for £55 it's an absolute bargain, staff rushed off their feet but still smiley and very helpful.

We were visiting for the Festive menu. We were warmly welcomed and shown to our reserved table. Our pre-orders were 100% correct for all three courses and we didn't have to wait long for our courses. In fact we were able to decide when we were ready for each course to arrive, so we didn't feel at all rushed. Also, the barman took our drinks order from our table, saving us having to get back up to go to the bar to order our drinks. The servers were all good too, and compliments must go to the people behind the scenes in the kitchen for serving up great food that was cooked well.

It's basic but it is very friendly and not expensive. Staff were excellent and a bonus when we went was the Carol singing!

Great food and great service. Reasonable prices

Our booked table was available in a dog friendly area. A real bonus that there is carpet rather than the usual hard floor. Initial drinks were ordered at the bar. The pub started to become very busy, so we used the online ordering facility for the food. This worked almost perfectly, just had to remind for the peppercorn sauce. Food was pretty good. Only comments would be that the steak in the mixed grill was a little chewy, and you had run out of custard for steam sponge pudding. All the staff were friendly and efficient. An enjoyable evening.

Food was amazing. Service was brilliant all round. We were served by Alex who was fabulous. Only negative, payment machine wanted tip before service???? How can you tip before service. I did tip at the end of the meal, but had to buy more so I could leave a tip.

Thought we would try the curry as usually, we go on Thursday for the steak meal now it is going to be difficult as the curry was as nice as the steak think next week might try the pies which are on a Monday can highly recommend always a friendly smile and good service to go with the good food always shown to a clean table by friendly and helpful staff it's our go to place when we want a meal out

Has a really good atmosphere with lots to look at, prices for food are reasonable although some meals are not that great, the garlic bread has no taste (of garlic) and mac and cheese has little to no cheese, the service was good although the food wait is a bit longer than I’d wait

Went in for a meal on Thursday, it was amazing was looked after really well especially by Courtney. Would highly recommend going here.

Great service, friendly staff and good food

I would like to see the Shah after a refurbishment which it badly needs. Shabby painted wall in a muddy greenhouse. Dull and dismal. Some of the menu meals IE pies, pastry over cooked on the outside and a bit soggy on the inside. Sausage & mash swimming in gravy, would be better served separately. The staff is great and pleasant.

We had booked for the festive meal and what a treat it was. The food was excellent and plentiful with an added bonus of it being hot, something that other restaurants cant seem to do. The staff worked hard and were all very attentive. We thoroughly enjoyed the evening.

A great place to dine. Even though there were a couple of parties going on, the service was excellent. The food tasted great too.

Last minute change so can't complain, room is a room, staff are the most helpful and friendly and food is the food. If i am sent down here working again will book here over other places I have stayed, I'm down here every other week

The food was great, the staff were friendly & helpful especially with those of us with food intolerance.

Occasional visitor and reliable good quality food, decor, service and atmosphere. Cowboy burger last visit excellent, and my partners chicken tikka masala she said was lovely. Sticky toffee pud and apple crumble also good and the overall experience and value for money for ‘pub grub’ is well above average. Special shout out to Rhys (Reece?) for attentive, efficient and friendly service too.

Went for a meal with my partner and was served by Ollie who was nothing but welcoming and helpful, answered all the questions about the menu and was very patient, food was great too, couldn’t recommend enough!

Food came out separately, burger looked sat on, tiny portions and not the best steaks. There wasn't a lot of food for your money and the plates looked like they were bare. They were running out of food and drinks we wanted they had no stock of. Won't be going there again. Tables were not being cleared and looked messy in there.

This place needs a good make over , Over the years it seems to go down hill,,, come on , this place has been there long as I can remember and going back few years it was the place to go for a good night out, but now , all I can see this will be gone,,

Fantastic variety on the menu; great tasting food and easy ordering. Knocked off a couple of points for being unable to see any disabled parking possibly because it was too dark but otherwise myself and my friends were very happy.

We are very lucky to have The Shah of Persia as our local. The food, service and friendly staff have always been excellent and good value.

Amazing food, perfect service especially from the waiter Ted, and the atmosphere was just wow.

As in every pub so far, you have to order your drinks and food at the counter and pay straight away. The food is then brought. That didn't exist in Scotland. The food was good and not that expensive.

Overall we had a great experience, the staff were kind, respectful and efficient. Food was served in a timely manner and was all fresh and piping hot. I had the fish and chips it was delicious, and a very generous helping.

I came in Monday lunch time didn’t feel very welcoming the ginger lady unfortunately I did not get a name seemed very unwilling to do her job and her attitude to customers just seemed like she did not want to be there on a good note the food was absolutely amazing and I would recommend to go there for food and not bad priced as well

My only complaint is that the draft beer always tastes really off (even with a fresh barrel). Pipes need a good clean I'd say. Have been put off returning because of this. Other than that lovely place.

Pleasant pub for an overnight. Not expensive, evening meal and breakfast were good. Nice beer. 30 minutes walk or 10 minutes from Poole quay for Brownsea Island trip or other boats.

First time visiting the Shah of Persia. Booking online was straightforward. Lots of available parking. Greeted with a friendly and polite welcome. Very clean and tidy, excellent service, some good offers available, whilst dining the establishment became very busy which indicates the Shah has a good reputation. The Manageress was present and approached us to check we were happy with our food. The food took about 20 minutes to arrive and we enjoyed the meal. I would recommend you book a table as it did fill up pretty quickly just to avoid disappointment .

The Shah of Persia is your usual Gastro Pub. Situated on a main road in Poole, Dorset. A little dated perhaps and in need of a few improvements like new carpets, windows and bathroom refurbishment. Where this pub shines though is its fantastic staff. We were greeted by Courtney on our arrival who cheerfully informed us of everything we needed to know and looked after us throughout our stay. All room service staff were also excellent. MANY THANKS!

I’ve stayed here a few times now for work the last few weeks/months and the guys working here are just incredible. They are all so humble, easy to talk too and the customer service is absolutely brilliant. The food is decent and the rooms are comfy and clean. 2 particular people who seem to be here all the time are Courtney and Josh. These guys are awesome! They have amazing attention to detail, so kind and just make you feel welcome. It’s a great place to be. You feel comfortable here and it’s a 5* from me! Would thoroughly recommend.
