Went for dinner with friends and was also Quiz night sponsored by the amazing RNLI. Superb evening, laughter, great food and hospitality. Shout out to Josh, Charlie & Courtney. Highly recommend the Nachos and kebab wrap

We have been to the Shah many times and enjoyed it. We went last evening for my Husbands birthday expecting the same service. What has happened ?we were quite taken aback, my husband asked for another Guinness at the table he was told we dont do table service any more,you,will have to order at the bar or on the app. What about the older generation or are they not important? They did have waiting service ,amazing special boards and 2for1 however that went a while ago but still the service was very good. The menu husband wanted a curry only had masala not his taste. Menu was very disappointing, however we found our food satisfactory chips were lovely,however not the good value we were expecting! I think this will put a lot of people off. I will look for an alternative restaurant next time its a shame as its within walking distance for us.

A bit disappointed with the food. The onion in the salad wasn’t peeled properly and the hard outer layer was in the salad which should have been peeled. Service was average.

Courtney and Edie gave awesome service. The food was good value for money. Unfortunately I experimented with a US hamburger type dish I don't normally choose hoping for a change and realised why I don't usually order it. The fries were delicious.

10 of us had dinner for my daughters birthday. Courtney, Josh and Charlie were great. Really attentive and welcoming. All the meals came out perfect

Welcome to the hotel very well, change of 2 rooms, Even though we were wrong and above all without. Large and clean rooms, smiling and welcoming staff. Excellent quality ratio. Towards good welcome, very kind staff, smiling. Theater have accepted to change our rooms, despite of our mistake, for the Saturday price! Very Goodyear level of quality for at a good price. Good Cook too! Great and clean rooms. Congratulations!

Me and my dad have been coming here for food every wednesday for the past 4years. my dad is 76 years old and has a few age related problems as he likes to call it to us its dementia. The staff there make him feel so welcome and all remember what he has to eat and drink so when he goes to do his order when he has a bad day and cant remember his likes they are there for him they really are a great team

came in here for a a drink with my family and after drinking one pint of coke to find out my glass had not been washed at all. after looking at my fathers glass and then mine you could tell my glass had not been through one single wash or even wiped down. there were put bits in the sink and stains all over it. this is not how i wanted to finish my drink!!

The food and service was absolutely exceptional, the 3 gents serving us were extremely polite and good at their jobs. I believe their names were Colin, Josh and Charlie

The pub is always absolutely amazing and the food is always hot and tastes lovely. The staff are all very happy and welcoming

Was away with work and stayed here at Shah of Persia - Great food - even the breakfast was good! The room was perfect with the biggest TV I've ever seen in a hotel room. 5 stars from me.

Doner kebab, don't order that. Disaster, terrible quality, high price, check after ordering, they go to see if it is available or not 😞 then they refund you, you have to order again.

I am temporarily staying in Poole and needed to find a local which does food this venue is perfect food is good could do bigger portions but I get it! Staff are amazing Shanice and Courtney are my go to staff Shanice has a fantastic sense of humour don’t change and Courtney is so caring

The staff were polite, helpful, and attentive, cheery smile and welcome. Food was excellent, perfectly cooked and reasonably priced. Excellent choice of drinks and would have no problem in recomending a visit.

Descent for a stopover. Good room. Good for ferry access.

We came as support workers with our two clients with complex needs, and the staff couldn't have been more helpful, we were sat at a regular table, not hidden away in a corner like some pubs. Food was also amazing and service was super efficient. Will definitely go back, not just in a work capacity either. Really impressed.

Quite happy with our first visit for a meal. I requested a table that was wheelchair accessible and that was no problem at all. We had already looked at the gluten free menu online so we knew what we wanted and it was easy to order our meal at the bar. Eventhough it was a busy Sunday afternoon, we received our main course quite quickly and although we had to ask for our plates to be removed and could we have our dessert, it was done promptly. The portion sizes for the price we paid was really good and that means we will return.

Going to this place was extremely exciting for me because its story was more valuable to me, because about 50 years ago, the king of my country, Iran, went to this place and drank beer and gave a very good tip to the owner, which the owner of this restaurant was able to do with this money. He wanted to make repairs and changes in this pub, for this purpose he was kind and named his pub (Shah of Persian ) 🥰♥️ This is an honor for me as an Iranian.

Lovely staff, brilliant atmosphere could not recommend anymore Courtnay has served us on multiple occasions and is wonderful! Always has a smile on her face and nothing is too much trouble, there is also another guy behind the bar who serves us but we didn’t manage to catch his name who is equally as lovely! 10/10 place to spend your evening

Great location if you are staying in Poole,5 minutes to the town centre, room was great and great value for money, decent

The food was amazing the staff were amazing helpful and friendly

Bar was 3 or 4 deep, with only 2 staff, waited for 6 or 7 mins to get served, gave up and went elsewhere, won't be going back.

Booked a nights stay here, staff very friendly, room was immaculate bedding and towels fresh and white. The one disappointment was the bathroom, which needed updating and the shower was freezing cold with low water pressure (hence the 3 stars)

It was our 60th wedding anniversary today and we went for lunch The staff discovered this and they were fantastic and made our visit very special and we really enjoyed our time at The Shah of Persia

We drive quite far to this place because of shah of Iran Persia, the food quality is good but we ( Iranian ) come all the way here because of our king story here… I would suggest to have a few Iranian dishes in the menu as we also saw a few other Iranian customers visiting the place at same time.

Worst experience we have there service was rubbish .we waited 30 then had ask were our food order was ,when did get it was only warm it should have been sent back and there no follow up to see how food was. Absolutely shocking

We decided to have our evening meal here due to getting 30% off mains. The food quality was excellent and very fast service. The staff that we dealt with were very nice and friendly. Portions aren't the biggest but a family of four to eat out at around £40 is pretty decent value.

When it comes to staff service Courtney truly goes above and beyond. From the moment we stepped through the door, being greeted with warm smiles and attentive care. Both her and the rest of the team were friendly, knowledgeable, and always ready to assist. Their exceptional service created a welcoming and enjoyable atmosphere for all patrons.

Great breakfast! We eat here for breakfast weekly on a Saturday. The breakfast is great and Carly always provides a great service and is very friendly and approachable. Would highly recommend.

Poor customer service. I found Jonathon to be very rude and abrupt. The food wasn’t of a great standard and his complaint handling skills seemed to be severely lacking.

Our 2nd stay at The Shah of Persia. The rooms are clean, comfortable, spacious and well maintained. On this visit we had a meal and were very impressed. The staff are cheerful, friendly and welcoming. There is a large, safe carpark and buses are cheap and frequent into town which is only a 10-15 minute walk away, though uphill on return. The Shah of Persia is now our 1st choice when visiting Poole.

Staff disjusting, one took our order yawning in our faces, saying her child kept her up,no patience taking the order, ask for a pineapple drink got a apple,she then said you ask for apple,pass it to another new staff member,waited for our dessert3o mins,when it arrived it was wrong,took it to the bar where the new assistant was shouting and joking with guys ,told her wrong dessert she argued eventually I got the right one,We left and after each week we have eaten there we will not return

Fantastic service , food was incredible , honestly 1 of the best burgers I've ever had. There was 8 of us who ate and every person loved the food will 1000% be back x thank you

Table for 8 booked for 1800. First 2 meals arrived at 1835. Jug of gravy sent back as stone cold. Meal 3 arrived at 1855. Meals 4 and 5 arrived at 1910. Meals 6 7 & 8 arrived at 1915 (40 minutes after Meals 1 and 2 which by then were finished.) Meal 6 returned as onions were put on the hotdogs when specifically informed not to! This a totally unacceptable state of affairs.

Was I’m today with a couple of friends. The service was amazing and the girl on the bar I think her name was Courtney I remember it was her second day. She was very attentive and happy to help where ever possible. Will definitely be coming back

Great food, new menu - we had the new kebab - which was tender salt & chilli chicken on a soft flatbread with tomato, red onion, pea shoots, sour cream and piri piri - delicious! The chicken & mushroom pie - gorgeous and gammon - Always a winner. Service awesome as ever, Jade is so helpful and friendly :) Josh is so friendly and attentive - real asset.

I regularly use the restaurant and bar area and slways have a good time. The food is always fab and the service is always top notch especially the friendliness we always receive from the Assistant Manager Colin who's been there for years and is a credit to the company and we always look forward to seeing him. Been back again 26/02/2024 everything was still amazing especially the new kebabs and hot dog even happier to see Colin was still there and still a credit to Marstons

As soon as you walk in you are greeted by a friendly welcome and promptly shown to your table. Only once did we have to wait, as there was a birthday party going on, but this was explained and apologies given. Menu is explained and how to place your order. Food is amazing and we didn't have to wait too long for it to come.piping hot and on warm plates which is great. Been to many places, but come back here constantly.

Popped in with my son today for a roast dinner the service was great and so was the food,with homemade yorkshire pudding everything was cooked just right and the staff were very friendly I had booked a table they also served a good selection of alcohol free drinks that I was impressed with as was driving I had the rhubarb and ç Gin delicious iwould come here again especially if they had live bands playing like they use too many years ago .

Simple to book online. Greeted professionally and shown to table, ensuring that the party were able to sit and move freely due to mobility issues. Easy to order with polite service. Food served to the table in a very polite manner, ensuring that all additional requirements (condiments etc) were available. Food presented well, hot and very tasty. Restaurant was clean and easy to move around (not cluttered like some). An excellent dining experience and will definitely come here again. Thank you to all.

Was lovely food but shame the kids eat for 1 pound was not allowed even though it said online that it was avaliable there so spent alot more then should have if they had said what online and advert has said. Kids meals are 8.00 each

Very good service, my partner and I came for a quick dinner while we were out and about forgetting that it was valentines day, they were able to find a table for us and service was quick and attentive.

We had our family Christmas meal at the Sha of Persia, it was fabulous. I brought my partner back to enjoy Valentine’s Day lunch and the starters, main and dessert never fail. Just to add that the bar staff are very attentive and the disabled facilities are clean and accessible. Huge thank you
