We stayed at the pub before heading onto the ferry at Poole. Arrived fairly late and left early so can't comment on food. Room was really good value, check in service friendly and plenty of parking. The room was fairly small, but had everything we needed and (as I said) really good value. We were there on a Thursday and it was nice and quiet.

My wife and I stayed for 2 nights, in the Parkstone. Luxurious, comfy bed…. ALL of the staff were amazing! The manager, Kourtney, was very thoughtful…. going out of her way to make us feel really welcome. AND a fantastic breakfast, at an unbeatable price! Hospitality at its best!

Just had my pre-birthday meal. My friend and I both opted for the Americana steaks, both cooked exactly how we like them! Mains and dessert all excellent!!

We regularly use this pub, particularly when there are offers on. We have always found the food to be tasty and well cooked. The service is always professional friendly and speedy. Our server was Charlie and he is a pleasant, courteous young man. I find this to be the case with all the staff.

"Had a terrible experience with breakfast. Waited 35 minutes while others who arrived later were served first. When it finally came, it was burnt and poor quality. Replacement was no better—grill ash on bacon, oily eggs, dry toast, and dirty plates. Left without eating. Very disappointing!"

Fantastic pub, and fantastic staff. We were served by Courtney, who remembered our favourite drinks, and made sure everything was absolutely right. She also handled a medical emergency (not us) which took place with speed, efficiency and calmness. Recommended for food and drink.

Great pub this, and great staff too - especially Courtney, who goes the extra mile to make sure your visit is perfect. I was pleased how Courtney remembered all of our dietary requirements and favourite drinks, and even more impressed by her immediate attention and quick thinking to a recent medical emergency involving a third party.

Really great experience, kids had a great time, nice location, reasonable cost. Staff helpful and polite. Food good, again reasonable, good value all around. Would recommend to others visiting the area. Plenty of parking and a nice palm tree.

Friendly bar staff. Beer was quite pricey. Served wine spritzer in standard wine glass so a bit over-filled. Use larger glass! My dining chair was ripped and the filling was showing. Table was a bit sticky. We were directed to a corner table when others, with more open spaces were available.

I arrived to have a family meal, acouple of weeks ago . The menu has a good selection of food , i choose the turkey roast ,and was disappointed with the out come when it arrived at the table . As the first thing i saw was that the meat was not fresh, the mash was packet mash. The whole dinner for over £14 was not enjoyable at all , it was so disappointing . The pub was cold the whole time, you need to wrap up warm . I totaly understand if they are finding it hard with the heating bill , but you do need to have warm clothing on .

Online booking was simple. My request for a quiet area was accommodated. Welcome from staff was very friendly with great interaction. Food was good and good value. Tables were clean and well set. Absolutely no complaints. The friendly staff made the visit. Very happy.

Lovely food and service as always food came out quite quickly as we went at an earlier time, was a bit disappointed they had no prawn cocktail (not there fault) but had something else instead.

The evening was really good, staff very friendly, I was meeting with an old friend for a meal, we ordered it through the table service, we arrived at just after 6.30 and didn’t leave until closing time, we had a very good evening.

late Sunday afternoon meal admittedly large party 6 children8 adults so bit of a wait , meals were warm last one arriving 25 mins later after asking at bar twice 3 different servers the female wearing a coat , thought she was a customer, that was the last we saw of anyone, so didn't stay for drinks and puddings double 40th birthday , cheers

Child friendly pub. Recently had a 21st there and they easily accommodated 24 of us nearly half were children with most being under 10. The staff were helpful and friendly ro the kids. Food was good and fairly priced. Not 5 stars as there is always room for improvement. Enjoyable day for the family to meet up laugh and have some good pub grub. Well done thank you to the staff at the Sha of Persia.

Really nice place, Only thing that needed improvement food wasn't served hot

There was no one to show us to our reserved table, I had to interrupt the lady taking orders at the till to get seated. We came because we wanted a Sunday roast and they had already run out. We would normally visit a Toby Carvery but had a voucher through the door and though we would give it a try. The table was sticky. I had to ask for a children's menu which wasn't given to us once we were shown our table even though I was with my two young children. A lot of other things were not available at a fairly popular dinner time. I was told 30min wait for food which I accepted. Our food came out an hour later. I noticed not all tables were full. The food was hot but my children's burgers were burnt. My daughter didn't want to finish because it was burnt and she would normally eat anything. It was too late for us to send back and wait for a fresh one to be cooked. It was almost 6:30pm at this point and my children go to bed at 7pm. This also meant we didn't have time for desert and were so put off by everything. I was told that there were no colouring pencils left to entertain my children for the hour we waited. When we managed to ask a neighbouring table if we could use their pencils when they had finished, the pencils were so blunt they couldn't be used! When I went up to chase up our meal there was a dried up used teabag on the floor. Food immediately came out which made me wonder how long it had been sat under a heat lamp. We will not be returning and it felt like a waste of money even with the voucher which saved £8! We come out to eat very rarely which should be to save the stress of cooking and cleaning and for fun. But it was stressful entertaining hungry children for an hour for substandard food, lack of availability of what we wanted and poor service. We came away feeling like we had wasted nearly £50 for which I received no receipt. My applepay was able to tell me how long we had waited so I have proof of this. The windows we were sat next to were covered in mildew. I feel would have had better quality everything in a McDonalds. We came for the option of a healthier meal and better service of which we received neither. Perhaps your current clientele are used to this but I cannot see how you will build more regular customers from other businesses with such poor service and environment.

Hello there the customer service was fantastic the girls we're very attentive and if there was a problem they sorted very quickly no fought there from what I could see. I got an offer in the post for 30 percent off 2 coupons and I have eaten in this pub about 10 years ago I am a local I had a bad experience then with the food but thought I would give it another try since I received a 30 percent off offer sadly I will not be using the offer coupon. We move on to the food I ordered a mixed grill I asked for medium and got well done and then some the sausages weren't up to scratch I would say chicken was moist but not much flavor chips were cold gammon was of low quality the plate itself felt like it was sat there for a while the food wasn't that hot I would say warm I ordered some extra chips because I wanted some hot piping hot chips because I think they wanted me to have these chips at the same time as my dinner there were very quick about it I understand what they're trying to do what they're trying to achieve but by doing that they undercooked the chips I ordered as well also my pepper corn source didn't arrive with plate so I had to chase that up but service were very good and sorted out for me the peppercorn itself felt like it came from a packet had no taste it was just awful. My opinion is the sharp Persia hasn't changed in the last 25 years I remember going there when I was 15 with my family that was the only time we ever went there I'm 35 now and it's still has not changed it's still low quality if you want people to come to this restaurant you must address the quality if we pay more then I don't think people will mind doing that is in a lovely location maybe shrink the menu and try to make more wholesome homemade food take your time. My opinion is your new menu is hasn't changed the quality issues has not changed anything but it might have made things worse if not the same I wish you a lot of luck in the future and I hope it doesn't close down because of this reason eventually but let's be honest it's just a tourist trap now isn't it Good luck

My family and I stayed at the Shah for a couple of day's to attend a family funeral. We'd been travelling for most of the day,and so our arrival wasn't until 9pm. As soon as we arrived we were given a warm welcome, nothing was too much trouble and although the kitchen was shut, Millie very kindly offered to get us some food. Although we declined,it was a very kind gesture. Breakfast was great,the room was spotlessly clean and had everything we needed. We where asked several times during our stay if we needed anything,nothing was too much trouble. Thank you for making a sad trip better. Shout out to both Millie and Carly,credit to the Shah.

New menu, great value and tasty for a local Marstons pub, very helpful and enthusiastic team with Kourtney and Charlie

Kourtney and Charlie were both welcoming and polite towards our stay in the hotel and restaurant. There was an issue with room but Kourtney was quick to sort and was excellent in servide.

We decided to pay a visit to the Shah today for cooked lunch. Didn't book,but were greeted by very friendly staff. I opted for the mixed grill, while my wife chose a rump steak. Got to say probably one of the best mixed grills I've ever had. Everything was spot on. My wife didn't have any problems either. Nice background music,and staff very attentive. Will definitely be paying another visit. Well done.

Many of the items on the menu was not available. We waited over half an hour for food to arrive. Our food was cold and very disappointing considering the pub was empty you would expect the food to come out faster and hot. We were offered free desserts as compensation but we were still disappointed. We were out celebrating my husband’s birthday a table of 6 I don’t think any of us will go back in a hurry.

We came as support workers with our two clients with complex needs, and the staff couldn't have been more helpful, we were sat at a regular table, not hidden away in a corner like some pubs. Food was also amazing and service was super efficient. Will definitely go back, not just in a work capacity either. Really impressed.

We visited recently. The staff were polite. The place was clean. We ordered a tuna and cheese and a hunters chicken sandwich. With this we had a tea and decaf coffee. Unfortunately, the sandwiches were very poor and basic. The hunters chicken was obviously out of a microwave and had hard piece in. The bacon was also under cooked in places. The Tuna sandwich was ok but everything was very basic. I know there are options to add extras but I think some garnish on the plate and seasoning as standard would benefit these greatly. The chips we had were warm at best. The tea was very bitter but the coffee was ok. All in all a very disappointing experience.

Specials of the day EXCELENT steak and drink for 15 quid bargain, tender steak. Room clean, comfy bed, refreshments, for £55 it's an absolute bargain, staff rushed off their feet but still smiley and very helpful.

We were visiting for the Festive menu. We were warmly welcomed and shown to our reserved table. Our pre-orders were 100% correct for all three courses and we didn't have to wait long for our courses. In fact we were able to decide when we were ready for each course to arrive, so we didn't feel at all rushed. Also, the barman took our drinks order from our table, saving us having to get back up to go to the bar to order our drinks. The servers were all good too, and compliments must go to the people behind the scenes in the kitchen for serving up great food that was cooked well.

It's basic but it is very friendly and not expensive. Staff were excellent and a bonus when we went was the Carol singing!

Our booked table was available in a dog friendly area. A real bonus that there is carpet rather than the usual hard floor. Initial drinks were ordered at the bar. The pub started to become very busy, so we used the online ordering facility for the food. This worked almost perfectly, just had to remind for the peppercorn sauce. Food was pretty good. Only comments would be that the steak in the mixed grill was a little chewy, and you had run out of custard for steam sponge pudding. All the staff were friendly and efficient. An enjoyable evening.

Food was amazing. Service was brilliant all round. We were served by Alex who was fabulous. Only negative, payment machine wanted tip before service???? How can you tip before service. I did tip at the end of the meal, but had to buy more so I could leave a tip.

Thought we would try the curry as usually, we go on Thursday for the steak meal now it is going to be difficult as the curry was as nice as the steak think next week might try the pies which are on a Monday can highly recommend always a friendly smile and good service to go with the good food always shown to a clean table by friendly and helpful staff it's our go to place when we want a meal out

Has a really good atmosphere with lots to look at, prices for food are reasonable although some meals are not that great, the garlic bread has no taste (of garlic) and mac and cheese has little to no cheese, the service was good although the food wait is a bit longer than I’d wait

I would like to see the Shah after a refurbishment which it badly needs. Shabby painted wall in a muddy greenhouse. Dull and dismal. Some of the menu meals IE pies, pastry over cooked on the outside and a bit soggy on the inside. Sausage & mash swimming in gravy, would be better served separately. The staff is great and pleasant.

We had booked for the festive meal and what a treat it was. The food was excellent and plentiful with an added bonus of it being hot, something that other restaurants cant seem to do. The staff worked hard and were all very attentive. We thoroughly enjoyed the evening.

Last minute change so can't complain, room is a room, staff are the most helpful and friendly and food is the food. If i am sent down here working again will book here over other places I have stayed, I'm down here every other week

Occasional visitor and reliable good quality food, decor, service and atmosphere. Cowboy burger last visit excellent, and my partners chicken tikka masala she said was lovely. Sticky toffee pud and apple crumble also good and the overall experience and value for money for ‘pub grub’ is well above average. Special shout out to Rhys (Reece?) for attentive, efficient and friendly service too.

Wonderful night out with my wife, staff were helpful and friendly, waitress Molly was a star. Food was nice, would recommend
