The restaurant has been completely refurbished and looks most attractive. It’s a shame the food is not . I ordered soup of the day which was apparently vegetable, but didn’t taste of anything and I sent it back because it was not hot. It came with a very very small piece of bread. I asked for a larger piece and was told by two separate waitresses that ‘it was not company policy’. The coffee was horrible too. I never write reviews but felt that as this was so bad they deserved it.

Went here today and had a small breakfast, very overpriced for what you got. It wasn’t very hot and really bad value for money. I’ve tried several meals here and out of the 6 I’ve had only one was worth paying the money for. Tea is good so I will continue to have a drink here but definitely won’t waste my money on the food again !

Unfortunately being a coeliac there are few places to have food or snacks. I know how my body reacts when I have either had gluten or cross contamination, after having a scone which I was informed was gluten free I became extremely ill a short time after, please take coeliac autoimmune disease seriously it’s not a fad for some of us, we can actually die from a flare up

Had a very pleasant light lunch here after visiting Wilton House for the second time that week, nice airy restaurant with plenty of seating. We only wanted something light so both had two salads each for £5.95 which I thought decent value, i had a green salad and a potato salad, plenty of potatoes and a nice dressing, Mrs C had the potato salad and a spiced cauliflower and chickpea salad, decent portions and tasty, Sophy served us and was friendly and chatty, a good place to have a quick bite

Lovely and helpful staff but food is terrible. Both send our meals back, cold hips, under cooked bacon, soggy bread. All in all the food was tastesless and very disappointing. Over priced too, just under £30 for 2 coffees and two sandwiches. Won't be returning.

Went with family for lunch as we'd heard good things. Arrived early as we'd also heard it gets pretty packed and there is no booking system. The greeting on arrival was friendly and the restaurant was probably around half full. The ordering system, however, is not working. You have to select your food on the menu and then queue up at one till to place the order and this meant one of our party had to queue for almost half an hour to place the order. It appears to be just too many covers to be able to operate a system like this without creating enormous queues, which were still there when we left. When the order had been placed, the food came quickly and it was very good. The waiting staff were really helpful and friendly. The only other gripe (which together with the queuing meant a 3 star review) is the round tables, set for three, which are very small to fit all the drinks and food on, especially if you're having pots of tea with a meal.

Visited the garden centre restaurant a few weeks ago a the food was exceptionally good. Having recently been diagnosed as Coeliac it takes a while to find gluten free food and on viewing the menus the ham egg and chips is stated gluten free so this was my choice. It turned out to be an excellent choice as the gammon ham was first class and the fries eggs and piccalilli were fab. My wife’s Jacket potato was also well presented and good. Today I was really looking forward to going back for some more ham egg and chips.on a visit to the area again. Placed the order and the food and drink arrived quickly in an efficient manner with a very professional waitress. On looking at my meal I could see that the food was different. The ham was completely different to my previous visit and was a plastic salty horrible offering. Previously the ham was excellent Truly disappointing and the side salad and slaw was dry and inedible. Such a shame and a wasted journey. Can’t moan about the eggs and chips though and again my wife’s Jacket Potato was fine. Will have to think again whether to bother returning as today was truly a letdown.

Have had Sunday Lunch here and many occasions and it’s always been first class. Today we had the three meat roast and coffees. The roast vegetables were hard and under cooked the potatoes and parsnips were too hard to cut with no roast about them at all. No gravy and everything was cold. Very disappointing because I don’t think it was anywhere near worth the £40 it cost.

We stopped here en route to Southampton. Lovely, bright, airy building. Outlook nice. Staff efficient, welcoming and always smiling, despite it being absolutely mind-boggling busy - how the manager at the front desk knew which tables were free and still maintained her smile is beyond me! They also looked smart with their uniform, which gave the atmosphere a bit of class. We were attended to at every turn. We were able to order at another till near where we were seated which was helpful. Food arrived in a very short space of time, considering how busy it was and was delicious. Thank you.

This was my first time to this restaurant & definitely will not be the last. The menu was very varied. I love that you can have a mixture of bite size pieces of cake, instead of one large piece. The roast gammon was delicious & tender. Not dried out. My friend had a salad. The salad menu was a bit confusing and she wasn't sure what she would end up with on her plate. But she enjoyed what she did have.

Good food and great that dogs are allowed inside. However, whether dogs are welcome or tolerated is very dependent on the member of staff, with some staff very dog friendly while others make you feel like a second class citizen. Oh dear what has happened? When it first opened the food was lovely but it now is not up to the standard you would expect for the price. Firstly the baguettes were mixed up, hot chips on one that should of had crisps, the receipt clearly showed this. My baguette was over cooked and looking very brown and the prawns inside were the most unappetising thing I have seen for a long time, they simply looked like large maggots, the smallest most tasteless prawns I have ever had. My daughters both opted for egg mayonnaise, not a filling you can go wrong with but they both disliked the taste, simply no seasoning and with your eyes closed there would be no chance you would appreciate you were eating egg. My daughter then said her Fanta was warm, that was because the bottle served was warm to the touch and the glass had no ice. To top it all off we had three wasps naturally pestering us due to having a fruit drink. Whilst wasps are completely understandable for this time of year why on earth allow the restaurant to be full of them? There are signs saying not to eat outside but every door open just means they come in. I spoke to a very personable member of staff who offered us a free drink but we could not wait to leave. Felt sorry for the hardworking staff who clearly were dealing with more than one complaint.

This is an ideal cafe if you want a snack and a drink. However unless it is very quiet then who have to wait rather a long time to get your food if it has to be ordered. Another irritation is having to pay extra for ketchup and other such condiments. Especially as food not cheap in first place! However for what it is we have never been disappointed in the quality of the food.

This is just a basic cafe, nothing special at all, but looking at the prices they obviously think it is. We ordered soup and a ploughmans, which the ploughmans was £9.95, he started by asking if we wanted coleslaw which would be an extra £1.15 (approx). I was thinking every ploughmans I have ever had comes with coleslaw. Well I wish I had taken a photo of it when it arrived. Imagine a side salad that you get with a sandwich, it had less than a leaf of iceberg lettuce, 1 SLICE of tomato, 1 SLICE of cucumber, a small pot of pickle, and a pickled onion. It did have a few pieces of ham and cheese, but no coleslaw, and I have never seen such a poor excuse for a ploughmans in my life. Oh and it was served with a ciabatta! The soup was ok but just tasted like a tin of Heinz. I suggest the manager goes to other restaurants to see how it's done properly. Needless to say we will never go back.

We had not been to Wilton Garden Centre before and decided to give it a try. While there was a good selection of plants and at reasonable prices I cannot say the same for the Restaurant. As I was busy looking at plants my husband said he would get a coffee and cake and wait for me sitting outside the restaurant - I said I would join him when I had finished. After choosing several plants I decided to get a drink and then join him. I asked for a glass of wine only to be told that I couldn't have an alcoholic drink unless I was eating a "knife and fork meal". I said that my husband was sitting outside and I wanted to join him and have a glass of wine in the sunshine but the surly jobs-worth man serving wouldn't budge from his decision. I joined my husband and had to sit there without a drink while he finished his coffee and cake. It's a shame really as I thought they would have welcomed the trade as it wasn't exactly packed and I probably would of ended up having a couple of glasses of wine as it was a pleasant afternoon sitting outside. Needless to say we won't be going back.

The Wilton Garden Centre cafe is improving (albeit slowly) year on year serving good quality honest food. It's now a cut above the Wilton Shopping village restaurant in my opinion. Helped by the friendly and efficient male floor manager who runs a tight ship at the weekends when it can get very busy. You can't book tables so you have to be patient at peak times, there is an outdoor overspill area which is only really a summer option as it isn't covered. Prices are good value with light bite breakfasts through to a delicious specials menu; I had lasagne/garlic bread and side salad which was excellent from the Specials menu. Our kids had baked potatoes and all were well fed. They have some phenomenal cakes which are cut generously so careful what you order your main otherwise you will be loosening a button or two on your belt in order to make space for pudding!!! Keep up the good work!

Visited the garden centre and decided to have lunch in the cafe. Not a lot of choice - sandwiches, toasted sandwiches or jacket potatoes were all that seemed to be on offer. Quality of the food was just about ok and the service average. Prices were a bit on the expensive side for what we had - jacket potatoe with chilli con carne and a small salad for over £6!!! Don't think I could recommend or would return.

Well kept garden centre with a generous assortment of plants and equipment. Apart from the fish department there is also a excellent cafe that also caters for children. All the staff are friendly and helpful.

Decided on a lovely snack yesterday (Sunday) around 11.30. Th sun was shining so the cafeteria staff had opened the side doors. It was too cold to sit out anyway and that meant that anyone wanting to eat inside had a cold draught around them. I hate being cold! Anyway, my husband ordered coffee and cake which was delivered immediately, whereas I ordered a toasted sandwich and tea. Well it got to the point of "Have they forgotten my order" as we waited For it to come to our table, and my husband had already eaten his cake and was ready to leave. I did have my tea though.....I mean cup of dust! It was the most dreadful grey coloured tea I have ever had and that includes value brands. The sandwich was overcooked and basic. The thinnest slices of bread which didn't even fit the tiny filling properly. I actually wanted a sausage roll, but at £3.95 each, I changed my mind!!! The most overpriced cafe in the land for the most basic and cheap foods served. Staff nice but tooo damn slow! Food and drink ridiculously expensive. Never again, and for those of you who think otherwise, you obviously have more money than sense.

I ordered a toasted sandwich and a latte. I asked if I could have my sandwich well toasted and I was told, no problem. Firstly, the tide was out on my latte which was annoying and secondly when my sandwich arrived it was hardly toasted, let alone well toasted!

Came out here with my Mum for lunch on a rainy day this week, I had a toasted cheese & pineapple sandwich.. lovely bread, with a little salad garnish and a few crisps. It does tend to get busy round lunch time so getting there earlier is better. The man serving was very pleasant and helpful. The garden centre is great, and the plants are well looked after, would definitely have lunch there again.

For a relaxed mid morning stop with my elderly mum this is an easy option. Free parking, all on the flat, plenty of space between tables, good selection of drinks and different cakes, scones, snacks. Staff also friendly. If raining be prepared to get a bit wet as towards the bottom of the garden centre but in sunshine this adds to the atmosphere as you are surrounded by Rose bushes, fab scents and lots of butterflies.

This is just a basic garden centre. Nothing special. The restaurant is outside the main building and a bit dismal. Could do with a makeover. What else can I say.

The entrance way is always a mass of beautifully displayed potted plants , leading to a vast area of pathways full of all the types of plants for all seasons and tastes. Fountains, paving, trellis, arbours all set out to give gardeners ideas. There is an excellent tea room for light meals and delicious cakes and cream teas. The food can be eaten inside our outside. For garden furniture, household wear, clothing, gift ideas, soaps, stationary, DVD films, books from children's , cookery, history to gardening there are in an enormous, long building. Head to the tills for gardening equipment, bird foods, feeders, sweets, icecream and much more!

A great place to visit for a snack or meal. Very tasty bread used for sandwiches and a great selection of loose leaf teas served in pots. Plenty of outdoor seating. Agree with previous comments about cakes and sweets selection a little pricey but always delicious. Fantastic garden centre too. Gents loo could do with a smarten up.

We come here quite often, and the Manager and Assistant Manager and all the team are always so genuinely welcoming.Been here at various times, morning, Lunchtime and Afternoon. We have tried a variety of the meals on offer, and they are always very tasty and filling.I do enjoy treating myself to a slice of cake now and again. maybe cake is a little on the pricey side, but you certainly get a good size slice.

We find ourselves passing through Wilton a lunch time from time to time, this garden centre provides a convenient place for a light lunch, it is not going to set the world on fire but it is above average and reasonably efficient, this staff on our recent visits have all been pleasant. Cakes and tray bakes are tasty. We use it because it is convenient but would not make a special journey.

Was on a bike ride of Salisbury whilst camping locally and stopped here for a coffee. Asked if we could bring cycles in and we were felt most welcome. Was a fantastic cafe in riverside overlooking the river. lovely garden centre and very pleasant staff. I speak as I find but couldn't fault the cafe or garden centre. Will return for better look around without the bike!!

The cafe was fairly busy for a Friday morning. We had to que for coffee and cake. What a disappointment! The cakes although home made, were dry and stale! The coffee was ok but even the replacement cakes were poor. All kept in a chiller which dries them out! The restaurant is a bit jaded, not up Blue Diamonds usual standard! And the toilets were dreadful! Definitely one to miss......

You will only eat here if you are hungry and need plants. Waiting staff friendly but no incentive to go the extra mile. Improvement is needed. The management should be addressing the reviews that do not impress!

Popped in for a late lunch on our way home from Salisbury today. The restaurant looks a bit tired but the staff were friendly and the jacket potatoes we had were fine.Afterwards, I used the disabled toilets. I think if I had gone in before eating we would have gone somewhere else. The floor and around the toilet base was filthy. It looked like it hadn't had a good clean in a long time. See photos taken. We will not be returning.

We stopped here for coffee and cake and wished we hadn't. My butterscotch cake was stale/dry. Swapped for a piece of coffee & walnut as had to make initial cut so should be fresh. Mmmm if this was a sponge it obviously hadn't seen moisture for a while. Why do you keep sponge cakes in a refrigerated cabinet. It makes them dry and hard.

Lovely setting outside with the river running past it but the inside is dated and grubby and the food is terrible! It's probably ok for a cup of tea by the river but that's about it.

First time in the pub booked a table for 3. Lovely warm welcome from all the staff. My nan who is 95 used to be a chambermaid in the war times & my nan was talking to the staff about it.they all took the time to listen to her it was so lovely she could share her story & others be interested. Food was absolutely delicious 😋 Lovely atmosphere all round would definitely recommend & will be going back again.

I thought I would book dinner at the hotel as a surprise for my husband as we got married in this lovely hotel exactly 5 years ago. I emailed ahead of time and told them it was our anniversary and why we I wanted to book a table there. What a let down…the hotel has changed so much since we got married there in 2017. When we first arrived the receptionists were cold and not at all welcoming,we didn’t even get a happy anniversary from any of the staff which I thought was so unthoughtful. I explained I was gluten free and was given a normal menu and was told anything could be made gluten free. Great I thought, the food was horrendous.. I had a pie with different ingredients in to what was on the menu, the salad it came with was a couple of limp lettuce leaves and some potato wedges that were ok and the best thing on the plate! My husband had a steak and it was ok, certainly not worth the amount we were charged for though as the quality was not great. The poor young waitress gave us the wrong menu…I don’t blame her as she was doing the best she could and kept apologising for the mistakes. We were given a complimentary dessert as we had over a 30 min wait for dessert …great, checked the bill and we had been charged for it so again the poor waitress sorted that out on her own. There were two conferences on at the hotel and the staff were clearly overwhelmed. Such a disappointment, over priced poor quality food, lack of staff and just completely down hill. I pity anyone planning an event here as it’s changed so much.

Lovely outside setting for lunch in the sunshine looking out on the hotel grounds. Excellent service. However very expensive for what you get.
