Randomly drove round some villages to look for somewhere to eat, and boy did we get lucky with The Angel Inn! Was easy to park. Welcoming staff, lovely food, warm and comfortable. Staff did not rush us through the meal. Food was well presented, prepared to a high standard and of a large portion size.

Sunday lunch, roasties were hard and dry, pork belly overcooked. The beef was ok. Not the best we’ve had here, sad to say.

I arranged a 80th birthday celebration for my wife with18 guests and ourselves. We had a three course lunch (with a choice of three dishes for each course) followed by coffe or tea and mints. The Staff at the Angel did us proud and everyone enjoyed themselves. It was a pleasure making the arrangements with a management which delivered on the day. As a side the Angel will make arrangments for those who have a dietry need ie vegan and glutton. Thank you to you all

Fantastic food, the table was a little squashed in the corner, which was our only criticism. The soup was gorgeous Would've loved to have had another vegetarian option, perhaps another pie of the day. We all shared the desert, as we were all full from the two courses we had. We are looking forward to coming back again in the future.

I posted a message yesterday to check that The Angel was open. It is! Today we went in a party of 8 for lunch. This was one of the very best pub lunches I have ever enjoyed, and not particularly expensive (by today's standards!).

Lovely quaint village location. Parking was a bit of an issue, driving to their car-park that was very small and already full so needed to reverse all the way out and park on the main road. The reception was truly warm and welcoming and our family sized table was spot on. The Sunday lunch was superb. Four adults each with different meat selections, and two children with kids choices - brilliant. Truly greatly presented and tasted lovely. Large portions yet still à la carte quality on aspects. Lost a star on waiter attention. I accept this is a very popular venue and therefore busy for the staff, but we were left waiting for over 30 minutes after finishing our main course and needed to progress with our day so desserts had to be declined when a waiting staff member finally re-visited our table.

Booked for my wife's birthday and we were not disappointed at all. The welcome, service, food, wine and general ambience of The Angel was excellent. The menu was concise, but we both loved the food.

We stopped off here on Friday having seen a sign by the side of the road on route from Belgium to Wells. We were hungry and what a find! The inn is beautifully decorated with a lovely atmosphere inside. The service was excellent and the menu just what we wanted. The food was great and the service attentive without being obtrusive. We will definitely be visiting again!

Food very average. The people on the table next door to us we’re all round disappointed. Seems to be a popular pub though, and the service was good. You’ll need a magnifying glass to see the sentence on the menu, “discretionary 10% gratuity added to all bills”! We’re all very fond of cooking, so we know how easy it is to make a good quality meal. We’ll give it another go at Christmas.

The Sunday Roast here is amazing, becoming a firm favourite as we’ve already been back again since! Beautifully cooked, good portions, amazing flavours & good friendly service!

First visit to this fabled pub and what a treat! Welcome warm despite a late lunch arrival. The place was packed on a Monday lunch, but the sweet garden was perfect. The owner herself served me a delicious Caesar Salad and the husband the crispiest, lightest fish and chips ever. Divine. We will be back. Often.

We rang on the spur of the moment to see if they could provide a vegan meal on a Monday lunch time. This was not a problem. Four of us were given excellent meals. There was a vegan starter, main course and desert (coconut panacota). The staff were very attentive and helpful to our needs and we all enjoyed a leisurely meal. The menu sensibly was not extensive but practical to most peoples needs. We shall be going back in the not too distant future.

Been refurbished recently. Thought we’d give a local pub a go! Went for Sunday lunch. Daytime tv shopping channel on in the bar area, poor bar service- barman didn’t know what Aperol was. Lunch tables with tacky plastic flowers. Never even asked if wanted a wine list. Starter was bought and pretty poor. Roast was inedible; cold, overcooked as was veg , thick chewy slices. We left. The management was surprised and completely confident all was fine! Not going there again - ever!

Our meal was excelent especially the fillet steak and cheese board. Our room was just what we wanted with a comfortable bed and just up the stairs from the bar. Breakfast was the best.
