Toby Carvery Trowbridge in Wiltshire

I went in for lunch last week. I was really happily surprised the food was amazing,. The mash was fresh not packet rubbish. You can't go wrong xx

Very nice beef great taste and fell apart. Quite quiet on a Friday evening. Has a different feeling that a lot of Tobys as build is a more modern feel next to retail unit

Enjoyed the meal paying extra(large plate) thought would get more meat not just the sausages. Only disappointment was the Yorkshire Pudding. Very hard unable to cut with a knife.

Trying to book online which would not work, then tried to call only to get an automated response. Tried to book over the phone but it would not accept it and hung up on me. Terrible

Lush food as always and amazing service! We love going here for food it’s always our first option such friendly staff and the food is just incredible! I really can’t fault it :)

Went for food tonight, garlic roast potatoes were very plain and over cooked, gammon tasted like it was boiled in salt cauliflower cheese was very raw lumpy gravy no sauces. Felt very rushed to eat and get out especially by the servers constantly coming over checking if we were ready to pay and leave. For what you pay you’re not given much meat it’s enough for a child, it’s definitely gone down hill recently prices seem to be increasing but the standards of food and service seems to get worse.

Layla was lovely, friendly and very patient with our herd of 13 people, the definition of customer service. We booked to come for my birthday meal and we weren't waiting long for our table either. The food was lovely as always :)

Never had a bad meal, staff always go above and beyond. Love the lamb leg on a Sunday and the seasonal veg options changing through periods. Great value for money!

There was no one to carve the meat. Had to wait nearly 10 minutes for someone to come. Two of our party who are vegetarian, chose to have just vegetables. However, the quality was appalling! The pasta was dried up, the peas had lost their greenness, the roast potatoes were soft and greasy, the sprouts were overcooked, the red cabbage was tasteless and the cauliflower cheese was wet and didn’t taste of cheese. As if this wasn’t bad enough, all of the vegetables were barely warm and were cold after a few minutes on the plate. The only positive is that the meat eaters commented that the meat was good but that,too, was not very hot. Paid £8.99 for a plate of vegetables most of which we could not eat. Having been to Toby Carvery several times in the past, this visit was really disappointing and I doubt I shall be returning and I certainly could not recommend it to anyone.

If going for Christmas Day Not recommend after this years service food was poor The staff seemed disinterested in serving had to repeatedly ask for plates to be cleared and ask for cutlery 40 to 60 minutes in between courses and that was because we kept asking and some having desert and finishing it before others came out (only 6 of us and restaurant about a1/3 full at the time ) staff just not interested after taking drinks order This was Christmas Day so very disappointed Do go for Sunday lunchtime though out the year and not had this problem But wouldn’t recommend for Christmas Day

Came on Christmas Eve, had the festive menu which Layla served me and my partner drinks, main and puddings. Excellent service, friendly and welcoming. Will definitely come again and recommend family and friends.

We went for breakfast and got turned away because we didn't have a booking.....odd as it was nearing the end of service and they had spare tables. Good for us in the end as we went to the nearby Premier Inn instead who serve a much better breakfast for the same price, and it is open for all!

Poor service. Waited to be sat whilst staff ran around overwhelmed and lost. Also stood around for at the end to pay. Food was average.sprouts hard, meat portions seemed slim. Server was miserable. Cheap meal out guess you get what you pay for..

Their Guinness was Bismil it taste like water had no foam. The Guinness itself had no flavour thick wasn’t freezing in every way the Guinness just didn’t deliver which is terrible because normally Guinness said Toby carvery is a favour of mine and I went in. I couldn’t even enjoy my roast because the Guinness was terribleit was overpriced at £40 for two roast dinners Guinness and a glass of Coke so if you want my advice if you like Guinness or don’t come here

I have a seizure disorder ,I can't stand for long periods of time and Dasha, one of the lady's by the bar, kindly helped me get food . I'm extremely greatful for her otherwise I wouldn't of eaten 😅.

Let me start by saying I never voice opinions but the review I'm about to leave MUST be read. We were greeted by the most lovely host who interacted with all guests around the restaurant. The food was divine. We are not locals, we have come from Southampton, we visit our Toby C regularly, but this establishment exceeded our expectations. The server who was boxing up veg as we were filling our plates was friendly and spoke to us, waited for us to use the veg before he carried on. The mash potatoes are unlike any I’ve had before, these are the only pigs in blankets I’ve received from a Toby Carvery which weren’t burnt and the meat was phenomenal. The only thing I’d have to comment on were the dumplings which were dry but even these were a luxury as we don’t get these at the Bishopstoke location. All I can say is I’ve left a very happy customer and only wish this restaurant was closer to my home so I could become a regular.

First visit yesterday (Tuesday evening at 6.30) not too busy but nice atmosphere and didn’t have to queue for food too long. Food there is a bargain, very good quality and extremely tasty. I’m vegetarian and had plenty of choice of good food to eat. Kirsty who served us was lovely and service spot on - not interrupting us but being there when needed. I’ll definitely go again.

Excellent carvery , service and price

I had a selection of meat on my plate, every meat was dry and tough to swallow. A good range of vegetables but the carrots were raw. The pudding was clearly heated up in a microwave as the pastry was soft, the pie was hot around the outside but stone cold on the inside. Not a good experience and will not call here again. Very disappointing.

Its a good spot, food could be fresher and I know its a cavery but still, it's pleasant enough. The amount of people they put in a table layout could be better just a little more structure would be great. Other those things it's pleasant enough to have a roast just another chain of toby cavery. Waitress I had was kind and very good at explaining the situation with food and drinks.

We went here have a full day at longleat. Great welcome from the staff, food was great

Lovely food nice atmosphere and very good customer service excellent

Came here with a large group of friends and family and were quickly show to our table with drinks flowing as soon as we sat down great hospitality, the selection was running low so Dylan who works in the kitchen assured us in a friendly manner that everything will be topped up and said he would even call us back up so we didn’t have to hold up the line behind us.

Dylan was outstanding and very helpful could not of asked for better service can’t wait to see the young chap again

Service was nonexistent had to wait for 30mins for carvery the drinks were wrong waitresses were standing by the bar they never once came over to ask if everything was OK rubbish!!

It was very busy being a Sunday and there was only 2 chefs on duty. There was a wait for food, we were in the restaurant for nearly an hour before we ate. However, all the staff were amazing. The waitresses kept guests happy by helping to restock the vegetables, sauces and gravy. The chefs and waitresses were incredibly polite and patient. The food was still absolutely delicious as well. I cannot fault the staff for their service. We will be back soon!!

Love this place, good food, good valour for money !

We went at a not so popular time so we could notice the fact that there was no music and a very silent atmosphere. However, that is the only bad thing I could say about this place. The food was great and a very cozy setting. We go here often and would recommend to a friend.

As usual the staff are very welcoming. Once seated and viewed the menu we went up to get our meals. The carvery station was a delight everything was completely full and cooked to perfection. Couldn't wait to return to our seat to start our meal. Fabulous in every way and the cost is amazing with a 25% off . Great all round. Thank you Toby.

In my experience of going to this establishment is very poor compared with their other sites I found the chef who was dealing with the meat rude the only person who was lovely was the waitresses. Will not be recommending to anyone.

Great service even though we were a party of 13!

Really nice place. Came for a roast in a Sunday so unfortunately paid the price but was pretty decent. Meat and sauces were the usual amazing stuff. Veg was a little lacking, roast potatoes were really hard and their new sage and onion ones were completely flavourless. No coliflower cheese or dolphinoise potatoes which was a shame as that's my favourite. Definitely worth coming again though as I appreciate it was a Sunday so probably absolutely rammed. Staff were very kind and friendly.

Roasts over cooked Yorkshire pudding like rubber Staff at the end of the meal instead of asking how the meal was. He just said "Are you ready to pay". Thankfully. I didn't have to deal with him. The ginger haired guy was more respective. (I think he may have been a manager) I won't be going back.

Amazing staff. Manager Steve has been really friendly. Hazel was brilliant. They accommodated us all though we didn't do any booking.
