Toby Carvery Trowbridge in Wiltshire

Good for price and very Nice friendly people work there.hot meal and love going there for breakfast. Me and family like it for the coat and always clean and tidy and got a fresh smell ,when cleaned.

Came for food as we had a student discount code to then be told we couldn’t use it because we could reuse it ? If there’s going to be a nationwide promotion stick to it.

Great breakfast in immaculate restaurant.

im abit late to this review but i remember when i went here the staff where lovely, and i forgot her name but she offered to take a photo of our family at our meal very kind xx

Really enjoyed our visit, the food was great and the staff were pleasant, lovely time was had by us all, thank you.

Food is okay at best. Always come away with dodgy tummy and belly ache.

The food quality was good but a small portion of meat. The server was very good and attentive. Clean toilets.

We made a booking for a saturday for a birthday meal. We asked for an out-of-the-way table due to us both having autism, but we were put right in the middle of a walkway. We didn't feel comfortable asking for a different table as the person who seated us looked flustered and stressed. We had to wait ages queueing for the carvery as no one was there serving, several members of staff walked past and looked at the growing queue and said someone would be there in a minute. Then when someone came to serve, they were getting angry because they had been left with only dirty plates, so had to go and find clean plates - more waiting. All the food was dry and hard, making it unpleasant to eat. We ate what we could, paid up and left. Since we didn't want to cause more stress for the understaffed team on the day, we contacted the guest relations team to highlight the issues we faced. This has led to the restaurant manager leaving unprofessional and unfounded comments on our booking, which has led to further foul treatment from staff at another Mitchell & Butler's restaurant. This retaliation style of management is disgusting when the main thing people go to a Toby Carvery for - a nice carvery- is a complete letdown. Luckily, we don't live in the area, but if we are back in Trowbridge again, we now know where to avoid.

We were served by Kirsty at the busy tea time period on Mother’s Day. She was really great, trying her best so we didn’t have long waits and was very friendly. Thank you Kirsty. Great meal had by all.

1 &1/2 hours before closing . No Pork and last 2 portions of beef with lots of gristle. First visit to a Toby in 2 &1/2 years as no Toby west of Offa's Dyke.

A friend and me had to drive to Trowbridge this morning. Feeling hungry we decided to find the Trowbridge Carvery. I have to say that we were glad we did. The breakfast was amazing. All the food was freshly cook and plentiful. I must make a date to come here for dinner one day. Well done the whole team at Trowbridge.

Layla was excellent - very helpful and looked after us well. Made sure to look after my daughters' special requests.

Called today Friday 21march , me & my wife had the set carvery and a couple of drinks. The food and service was excellent, will definitely be going back, definitely recommend

Excellent service from all the staff but the carvery was really disappointing and hasn't improved from my previous 2 visits. The Yorkshire pudding was like rice paper and I don't think any cheese went near the cauliflower cheese which was full of thick undercooked stalks. Apart from the Swede all the veg was bland and dried out and the gravy was tasteless. The beef was tasty and a decent portion but overall it was poor we won't be coming back again.

Breakfast was not good. While I ate the eggs when they first came out, they were overcooked. Mushrooms were so dry and wrinkly and the price wasn't fair for what we got. No black pudding or fried bread wither. Disappointed

Accommodating as always- Yulia always looks out for us and food was top notch despite it being busy. Lots of variety of veg and fun had by all!

This is a very good restaurant value for money great choices for all .The buffet carvery has a good selection of meats and Poultry for carnivores alternatively the vegetarian has a good variety root vegetable and leafy greens or red cabbage,which are fresh and always a different . I like a small portion of meat and a larger quantity of vegetables which I can help myself. The selection of drinks are good. The staff are champions of service and always a smile . Value for money

Went for valentines and we had gammon and my partner had gammon and beef the gammon was delicious great evening apart from the veg was stone cold

Staff courteous but the food was very disappointing. Meat portions small, veg and mash dry and cold. Yorkshire pudding uncooked.

Food was great, especially the gammon which was fresh and juicy. Liam was really lovely - very polite, friendly, attentive to us & other customers. We left with (excessively) full tummy's and for such good value. We look forward to coming back. Thank you🙂

I went in for lunch last week. I was really happily surprised the food was amazing,. The mash was fresh not packet rubbish. You can't go wrong xx

Very nice beef great taste and fell apart. Quite quiet on a Friday evening. Has a different feeling that a lot of Tobys as build is a more modern feel next to retail unit

Enjoyed the meal paying extra(large plate) thought would get more meat not just the sausages. Only disappointment was the Yorkshire Pudding. Very hard unable to cut with a knife.

Trying to book online which would not work, then tried to call only to get an automated response. Tried to book over the phone but it would not accept it and hung up on me. Terrible

Lush food as always and amazing service! We love going here for food it’s always our first option such friendly staff and the food is just incredible! I really can’t fault it :)

Went for food tonight, garlic roast potatoes were very plain and over cooked, gammon tasted like it was boiled in salt cauliflower cheese was very raw lumpy gravy no sauces. Felt very rushed to eat and get out especially by the servers constantly coming over checking if we were ready to pay and leave. For what you pay you’re not given much meat it’s enough for a child, it’s definitely gone down hill recently prices seem to be increasing but the standards of food and service seems to get worse.

Food is always spot on! Staff are always lovely and friendly! Can’t recommend enough!

Arrived and was told whatever ever food is left is what you get and said to my wife with a small baby by the way, what you doing ?? My wife was taken aback by being spoken to rudely and said don't worry we wont be staying

A busy restaurant, with a lot of noise.

Layla was lovely, friendly and very patient with our herd of 13 people, the definition of customer service. We booked to come for my birthday meal and we weren't waiting long for our table either. The food was lovely as always :)

Never had a bad meal, staff always go above and beyond. Love the lamb leg on a Sunday and the seasonal veg options changing through periods. Great value for money!

There was no one to carve the meat. Had to wait nearly 10 minutes for someone to come. Two of our party who are vegetarian, chose to have just vegetables. However, the quality was appalling! The pasta was dried up, the peas had lost their greenness, the roast potatoes were soft and greasy, the sprouts were overcooked, the red cabbage was tasteless and the cauliflower cheese was wet and didn’t taste of cheese. As if this wasn’t bad enough, all of the vegetables were barely warm and were cold after a few minutes on the plate. The only positive is that the meat eaters commented that the meat was good but that,too, was not very hot. Paid £8.99 for a plate of vegetables most of which we could not eat. Having been to Toby Carvery several times in the past, this visit was really disappointing and I doubt I shall be returning and I certainly could not recommend it to anyone.

If going for Christmas Day Not recommend after this years service food was poor The staff seemed disinterested in serving had to repeatedly ask for plates to be cleared and ask for cutlery 40 to 60 minutes in between courses and that was because we kept asking and some having desert and finishing it before others came out (only 6 of us and restaurant about a1/3 full at the time ) staff just not interested after taking drinks order This was Christmas Day so very disappointed Do go for Sunday lunchtime though out the year and not had this problem But wouldn’t recommend for Christmas Day

Came on Christmas Eve, had the festive menu which Layla served me and my partner drinks, main and puddings. Excellent service, friendly and welcoming. Will definitely come again and recommend family and friends.

We went for breakfast and got turned away because we didn't have a booking.....odd as it was nearing the end of service and they had spare tables. Good for us in the end as we went to the nearby Premier Inn instead who serve a much better breakfast for the same price, and it is open for all!

Poor service. Waited to be sat whilst staff ran around overwhelmed and lost. Also stood around for at the end to pay. Food was average.sprouts hard, meat portions seemed slim. Server was miserable. Cheap meal out guess you get what you pay for..

Their Guinness was Bismil it taste like water had no foam. The Guinness itself had no flavour thick wasn’t freezing in every way the Guinness just didn’t deliver which is terrible because normally Guinness said Toby carvery is a favour of mine and I went in. I couldn’t even enjoy my roast because the Guinness was terribleit was overpriced at £40 for two roast dinners Guinness and a glass of Coke so if you want my advice if you like Guinness or don’t come here

I have a seizure disorder ,I can't stand for long periods of time and Dasha, one of the lady's by the bar, kindly helped me get food . I'm extremely greatful for her otherwise I wouldn't of eaten 😅.
