The best restaurants serving British food in South West

Went for an evening meal on 23rd February to celebrate my mum's birthday. Food was delicious. Look at for the offer on the steak night. I had seabass which was very tasty. We didn't have dessert on this occasion (although have done so on previous visits) as we had bought a birthday cake along. Well sort a visit. The pub is on the A30 in Milborne Port. Plenty of parking or there is parking nearby. Staff were very helpful and attentive.

The food is exceptional here... We had the potato rosti with creamy mushrooms and the steak focaccia. Full flavours, tender and tasty, locally made fresh focaccia. Chef knows and loves what they're doing and the passion shines through! Generous portions without being too much; just perfect. The atmosphere is wonderful; warm rouge walls alive with art posters and a glowing log fire. Fantastic place, excellent service. Cannot fault it!

Stopped for breakfast bap and drinkWe had one crispy bacon bap with ketchup I asked that the bacon be crispy, as last time not so much. This time plenty of bacon but alas, still not crispy. Makes for a chewy bap. Had a sausage and caramelised onion cheesy bap. The sausages were delicious, bap was well toasted cheesy taste not so nice, as faux cheesy bit not pleasant to my taste. Coffee v pleasant Did not have to wait an age so that is a plus. Thank you

Stayed at The Woodfalls Inn whilst visiting family. Having booked in with the staff we were shown our room which was fantastic. Spotless, plenty of space for a family of five. Super comfortable beds and such a lovely lounge area. And it doesn't stop there, booked a table for the evening meal and we all had fantastic food. We had another meal the following day before we left for home and i chose the pan fried sea bass. I have never tasted something so nice before. Top marks for the chef. We will definitely be staying here again. We'll done to all at The Woodfalls Inn

Lovely locals pub with a nice atmosphere. Unfortunately we only stayed for one drink as no food served on Sunday evening which we were expecting.

Nice place but the Worst FISH and chips I have ever tasted... The fsh was tasteless, grey and mean and the batter was pure grease... Chips were passable at best. It was expensive at £20 so I ate it but the rancid taste lingered with me for many hours...

Excellent and very friendly service, very well managed. Perfect for an overnight stay waiting for a flight from Bournemouth. A bit of decorating would help but all works well. Thankyou for an easy stay.

Was recommended this pub by a colleague so went for lunch with my daughter and her boyfriend. The photo on the website shows Cod and chips but the menu was plaice and chips and looked a bit overcooked though they said it was nice. I ordered lasagne which I'm sure said that it was " Aberdeen Angus " though there didn't appear to be much meat in it only sauce and mushrooms . It was nice but not what we expected especially for the price. Desserts however were lovely. The view is also good but the paint peeling off the walls in the restaurant..not so good .

Amazing place to grab a quick pint or to have dinner. I can recommend the Sharer plate.

Perfect spot for a few beers and lunch with outstanding views.

Have just had dinner at the Jolly Sailor on Poole Quay. I had an issue with my meal, so asked to speak to the Manager. He came over and apologised, issued a refund with no hesitation. He then offered a free alternative. The Manager was very friendly and helpful, although I was disappointed in my original order the replacement was lovely and because of the very professional way the Manager handled the situation we will definitely be returning. Very refreshing to find an establishment that looks after their customers and treats them with respect.

Really friendly staff. Some different options on food. Wasn't sure where to sit for food or order at first but they were kind and helpful. Love the 4 and 5 shared plates. The pork ribs were pretty good and melt off the bone, the wings were overcooked though and salty, but the halloumi and squid were good too.
