We visited this place for the first time on our Cornwall road trip. It is dog-friendly, and they offer dog puppuccinos. We ordered two coffees and a caramel shortbread. The coffee was good, but the cakes were average, sadly. Our dog enjoyed his puppuccino. Would come back to try the pasty. #travelwithtentbox

I was disappointed with the service provided by the elderly woman who served us our coffee. She was rude when she told us that we were not allowed to eat the pastries we had purchased from another bakery at the table. I believe that she could benefit from customer service training and should have communicated with us more politely. I fail to understand the reasoning behind not allowing us to consume our own pastries while we were also ordering coffee from their establishment. Due to this experience, I cannot recommend this place because of the woman's behavior.

Pasty pastry was very nice but the steak meat was a big sauce across the bottom and there was alot of liquid inside it making it a big soggy and messy. Cheese and bacon turnovers were very good.

It was really busy when we went in, but it was definitely worth the short wait. There is an eat-in or takeaway option as it's a cafe with a nice seating area and the staff were working together like a well-oiled machine to take and pack orders, etc! We opted to take away as our daughter has special needs, and the smell of the food was too much for her, and our food was nicely bagged up separately with napkins and a fork for my partners dessert. The lady who was taking the orders was lovely and chatty and couldn't do enough. This was really appreciated! Thanks 😊 The food was absolutely delicious! A hot steak pasty straight from the oven with plenty of steak, too, and my partner enjoyed his large slice of salted caramel and butterscotch cake! Would definitely recommend 👌🏻

Needed to stop for a drink and something to eat. Looked lovely on the outside. Was with my family including young children. Wanted some sort of breakfast which was advertised but told it stopped at 1030am. The lady serving I found quite rude. Ended up with some sausage rolls, which were nice, I think I would have preferred to have gone to Greggs. I was charged an extra 40p on top of the bill to eat in and that didn’t include the food being given to us on plates which made everything difficult with young children. The coffee ordered came over flowed and onto a receipt which then turned into a soggy mess. The table and area surrounding was a complete mess. There was a pleasant lady there who said hello whilst tidying. She seemed to be the only member of staff that seemed to be friendly and hard working. Overall, incredibly disappointed from the moment I sat down. It said on the T-shirts that staff were wearing, “straight from the heart”. It most definitely wasn’t.

Not very busy for the area. Prices were a bit steep for food and the cakes felt like they had been defrosted. The doughnut even had condensation all over the icing. Not very pleasent. Drinks were fine. Staff did not seem very happy and borderline rude. Asked for the guest wifi password and she said they did not have a guest wifi. Might want to check it out as there is one with your name on it. Sorry to sound negative but it is trueful.

Lovely clean dog friendly place. Huge tasty Cornish pasties. Children's meal of Sandwich, drink and gingerbread man went down well with the daughter. Cakes looked yummy but didn't partake as too stuffed from the pasty.

So unwelcoming of locals!! Went here to do some work and have a coffee and was told to leave as there was a time limit on the table after being there for an hour. Apparently there was a lunch rush however there were several empty tables for people to sit on. The women who asked me to leave was so rude. Will never be going back here and the coffee isn’t even that good. Disgusting attitude and poor service. Another business that only cares about its sales and tourists.

I can't rate The Cornish Oven in Newquay highly enough. The staff are super-friendly and always make us feel welcome when we visit. Their gluten-free Cornish pasties are great and their cakes are delicious! When we asked for gluten-free and/or vegan options for my kids they made sure to check everything. I highly recommend visiting this wonderful Cafe!

Fell upon this place after a long day of activities on our family mini break. We got in close to closing but everything was still piping hot. The pasties were beautiful. I am fussy on my pasties and I wanted to take more home with me. The cakes were lovely and we all enjoyed them even me who doesn't have sweet tooth. can't wait to visit when we come back again.

They decided to start closing down the bakery as me, my partner and our 2 children (1 asleep in the pushchair) were still eating our food. This included dragging tables/chairs around the cafe and then bringing out a very loud floor polisher. We just grabbed our things and left. Unbelievably rude, wouldn't bother returning.

Popped in as I really wanted a fresh scone with some clotted cream and jam, after 14 years without refined sugar. First time discovering the Cornish oven (I moved to Newquay 2 weeks ago). This scone was BIG and rocked my world! Thank you to the 3 lovely ladies who chatted with me and packed up the scone. Such lovely energies. Now, the UK’s biggest debate: Cream or jam first? 🤣 Thank you!

Pasties mmmmm, clean restaurant. They had all coffees available in decaf. The pasties were full and plenty of meat, not just veg; not too peppery either. Coffee was smooth, one latte and a cappuccino both tasty and not bitter. Relaxed seating area with a few seats outside. Been looking forward to a Cornish pasty and we weren’t disappointed. There is one toilet but it is one of the nicest I’ve seen. Large and well appointed and clean.

Ate here last week, Cornish pasty is the worst I’ve eaten, bland and tasteless. Wife’s tuna roll was pretty good though. Coffee decidedly average. Cost £1 more per item to eat in, kept clean even when busy and staff are nice enough, service was pretty good. All in all the pasty let this down for me and I would go in again

Nice place, nice ladies, not a bad price. But... Although the pastie had a good traditional pastry, the filling was quite wet, so much so that gravy dripped out of mine at one point. Tweak the mix and it will be spot on. Either that or switch to making pies.

Second time coming to Newquay in 2 months and both times been here every day I spent here. The pasties are amazing! Especially the flakey crust. Not to mention the staff are great. Returning a couple months after didn’t think the staff would recognise us which they did. Very welcoming 10/10! Best pasties in Newquay

Firstly I haven’t tried any food/drink. So try for yourself But advertising “Afternoon tea for two with a scone for £6.95” in the window, to then sit down and see on the reverse of the same sign says “drinks not included”. That is beyond a joke and cheeky. Clearly just trying to lure you in to then pay for a drink separately. Not a fan of being made a fool of.

Walking down the main pedestrian thoroughfare we were pulled into this cafe by the wafting aroma of freshly baked Cornish Pasties. The staff were lovely and helped us choose which items to enjoy. The food was piping hot and very good. The interiors were pleasant and simple. And we didn’t need a bank loan for a very satisfying snack. A highly recommended experience.

AMAZING new cafe in the high street in Newquay. The pasties are phenomenal, the pastry specifically is so, so good and you get a choice on the steak pasties of shortcrust or flaky 👌🏻 with sizes from pixie to XXL. The cake selection is very good, with tray bakes and ‘proper’ cakes. The Hummingbird Cake (spiced banana and pineapple) is particularly good. Coffee is also nice, plenty of seating, friendly staff. Couldn’t fault it!

A limited menu. Asked for a pint of lime and soda and a pint of blackcurrant and soda. The waiter said they didn't have soda, but suggested lemonade instead, which we accepted. When we had finished our bland food and got the bill, we found that the charge for each drink was £3.25 for the lemonade and £1.85 for the shot of cordial!!! We stayed at a different P Inn as part of the same holiday and paid £1.20 for a pint of lime and soda. How can there be such a huge discrepancy for the same drinks with the same company.???When we queried the price the barman laughed!! What a rip off! Avoid at all costs
