When it’s open it’s ok. Seems to be run as a hobby though because the opening times are haphazard at best. Rubbish wine choice. Only a few beers available. God knows when the CAMRA award was given. No chance now. Avoid this pub and go elsewhere.

Booked a table for two we were taken to a table shown a specials leaflet with about 8 items on it 7 were crossed off, ordered 2 drinks and given the main menus not told if any of the meals were sold out, drinks arrived were asked what we wanted to eat I chose a steak pie none left I said I would have the pork belly none left this was only 7.15pm, only spicy food left or fish & chips so ordered the fish & chips nearly an hour later my meal arrived, the pub was not busy. We ate up asked for the bill waited, 15 minutes later asked again finally got the bill I usually give a tip not today would not eat here again

We've been coming to the Weavers regularly since we moved to Bodmin 5 years ago and have always had positive experiences however this afternoons visit has do been very disappointing. We popped in for a couple drinks, the bar had a steady flow of customers but neither the bar or restaurant areas were particularly busy. The woman behind the bar was clearly stressed and appeared hostile towards customers. She rolled her eyes and verbalised her annoyance when a group of guests arrived for their restaurant reservation. When she eventually got round to serving me and my husband she abruptly demanded to know rust we wanted and started walking off before we finished ordering. I had a card reader presented and bluntly stated the total amount before walking off with the machine after the payment had been processed. Her attitude and overall lack of any customer service was very disheartening. She was very rude and clearly had no desire to be at work. We have always thought of the Weavers as a friendly, welcoming place to relax however if this is the general attitude of staff moving forward, we'll refrain from returning where we clearly aren't wanted.

Four of us went for Sunday Lunch after a Sunday Morning walk. The drinks were very good, (Can't say that about a lot of pubs who only sell cheap unheard of Lager, I had Peroni). The food was excellent (we all had the beef) and the dishes of veg were perfectly cooked. The gravy was plentiful and tasty. Service was first class and when the bill came it was less than expected. We will definitely be heading back there in the near future.

We held our Golden Wedding anniversary here on Saturday (16th) with just a smallish party of 59 guests and from beginning to end, it was a fabulous experience for every single person. The food was outstanding, especially the slow braised British beef (which I had) that simply melted in the mouth, it was that tender. Every person had chosen each course from a choice of three options and nobody was disappointed with what was placed before them. Likewise, the breakfast was superb. All the staff on the day were brilliant and made sure that we were happy and enjoying ourselves. A special mention has to go to Angela from the Wedding & Events Team - what a gem she is and truly a credit to the venue! Over the many months of planning, nothing was ever too much trouble for her and her responses to my many email queries were very quick. Some very precious memories were made that day, in a beautiful setting, that will last for a long time for both us and all our guests.

Just had a great family meal at the White Hart. We used to love the food under the old management and chef, but this was even better. The little touches like home made bread with the starters made all the difference Really hope they succeed, we’ll be back!

This used to be the best fish and chip shop in Weymouth, but now since the people next door took over from the Chinese takeaway it's now definitely the worst. They use the same batter that you'd get on chicken balls which is a bit weird on the fish and sausages. Such a shame as it was our go to place for years.

What a wonderful pub! Easily missed, since off the main road, but so pleased we found it. Cosy, rustic pub serving excellent wholesome and tasty food. Lunch time only menu and with only a few choices, but every dish is an absolute joy. The service of the great food and drinks is also superb, with plenty of choice of local ciders and beers. Such a rarity to find such a real gem these days!

Lovely pub, I couldn't rate it highly enough in every respect, and everyone involved with the daily running should be proud of the service they provide to the customers.

Googled a pub around Stroud and came upon this one. Emailed to reserve a table and had a confirmation email back within an hour or so. A smiley lady behind the bar directed us to the restaurant. Greeted by a young lady who was very pleasant. 5 of us in our party including an 8 year old and an 11 year old. Ordered ciabatta, baguette, omelette and jacket potato. All of which was freshly prepared, well presented and good quality and arrived fairly swiftly. Husband had a pint of Butty Bach which seemed to go down well! There was a children's menu but our children preferred a baguette! Children's menu was fairly standard but mash on offer as well as chips. Will definitely return.

The Lord Nelson is our local so an easy choice for a family get-together to celebrate our ruby wedding anniversary. We had a table for 20 and took over the skittle alley which doubles as a function room. Everyone attending had a great time and the pub and staff received lots of compliments. They are all extremely friendly and professional, and Mark’s food is excellent. Not sure we’ll make the skittles team though!
