Fancied a bite to eat for lunch, it’s a few miles from where we live but never been. Glad we did. Old fashioned type of pub, interesting locals in the bar and not sure we picked the right place but the landlord was friendly and the food was absolutely delicious. Didn’t see the restaurant side but we will be going back with friends for an evening meal. Very good food. 😊

Decided to explore Colyton after getting there via the Seaton tram a different stumbled on this lovely pub. After looking at the lunch menu we all went for the sandwich options (fishfinger, steak and the chicken and brie). I recommend going with a healthy appetite as the portions are generous. There was a waiting but given its all freshly cooked that was not an issue for us. Great selection of drink options for bitter, lager and cider drinkers. Definitely set us up for the rest of the day

Waling around looking for a place to eat in Colyton and this was the only place still serving food just before 3pm, so we popped in grabbed a few tables and ordered our food and drinks (just in time). The food and drinks were served in a timely manner and the portions were big and tasty. All our family kids and adults of 10, really enjoyed the meal and the chef brought out some more chips! Lovely place, although it is catering for more your local crowd, but if you've come off the tram and are hungry, try and get to this place before 3pm for your lunch. YOu won't be hungry after!

We took the tram from Seaton to Colyton. The weather was inclement but despite the rain decided to take the walk from the tram stop into Colyton. We were drenched and about to give up when a fella said “there’s a pub 200 yards up the road” and that’s how we found The Gerrard Arms. And what a great find. Drinks were reasonable priced and the landlord and locals were friendly. Pub lovely and clean. I chose a ploughman’s with a side of chips. Chips were homemade (none of that frozen stuff here) and the mixed ploughmans was exceptional. Probably the best I’ve ever enjoyed. I wish this place was on my doorstep.

Went into the pub for a couple of drinks late afternoon with my wife. We were greated by very friendly staff & locals. For my sins I'm only a lager drinker ( there were plenty on offer), Madri being my tipple of choice ( Happy days!) There were several ales on offer which were apparently very good, according to those enjoying them. We got talking to one local gentleman who had ordered & recommended the Friday Fish & Chips, so we excepted his offer to join him at his table & thoroughly enjoyed said fish and chips! The beer batter was light & crispy & you could tell they were using fresh ingredients. The only regret we had was that we didn't take our dogs with us as they are a very dog friendly pub with plenty of treats & water bowls. Will be back, thank you!

It is a small, very friendly local with a short traditional pub menu but everything made on the premises. On the Saturday we were there the specials were fish pie, or chicken dopiaza ( there is a pie & a curry every day they serve food, the variety changes). We both had rump steaks - which came nicely rare as requested, excellent chips & accompaniments. Both too full for dessert. Very reasonable prices for good quality food.Well-kept Otter beer, friendly company, a very pleasant evening.Perhaps I shouldn't have done a review - keep the place for the locals!

Beyond disappointing- wouldn’t recommend to anyone, awful experience. The manager was beyond uncooperative! We had booked through hotel.com a ‘family room’ , we had then noticed a few days before our stay a luxury room had become available at a cheaper price so we rang up and spoke to a gentleman Luke( couldn’t fault him in any way-the most understanding staff member they had) who had it all swapped over for us- upon arrival we had to wait 20 minutes for them to even be able to open up the room door which was beyond a joke, key wouldn’t work so had to get maintenance ( is this not checked before check in? How could they have cleaned the room the morning of our stay when they key wouldn’t work?) when we did eventually get in, the smell was gross, smelt like old, dog and damp and wasn’t the warmest of rooms. The windows wouldn’t close and we had a view onto the back alley. The room was decorated with dog hair it seems, dog hair in the bed, in the shower floor and the blankets and in general over the floor. Dog friendly yes- this amount of hair NO. We then went down and questioned as we did not get either a luxury room or what we first enquired about as a family. We got a standard double-so not even what we paid for. We weren’t welcome back for breakfast and they refused a refund or even partial to fund towards our amazing stay in the premier in 30 second walk around the corner. premier in = 5 STAR. Highly recommend not staying a night in this eyre court hotel.
