We called here for lunch whilst visiting Seaton. We both had the steak and ale pie, which was very good. The staff were friendly. I would have given a full five star review but for a couple of annoying factors. Firstly, we went in because there was a sign outside saying it is a Greene King premises and I often use my Blue Light Card at their pubs for discount on food. We sat at our table and I accessed their wi-fi and then obtained the Greene King QR code. I ordered our drinks and meals and then showed the QR code, only to be told it was NOT a Greene King pub - Greene King only owned the building, so no discount. While we were eating our meals a black Labrador appeared four times, running loose in the restaurant area and being a damn nuisance. The owner kept appearing to retrieve it (no pun intended) and seemed to find it amusing that her dog was running riot. It made for a well behaved spaniel under a table with it's owners and they were not impressed. It also made for my dinner and I had to shoo it away. I like dogs as I used to breed, show and judge gun-dogs but I cannot abide badly behaved ones in eating premises with ignorant owners that don't keep them under control.

I had a very comfortable stay for one evening while on a business trip. I upgraded to the double bedroom with the luxury bath, as I do enjoy a bath to unwind after a long drive. However, the water pressure was so low, it would have taken around 30 minutes - an hour to fill, which makes the luxury bath redundant as I had to, in the end, opt for the shower. The shower drain was filled with hair when I pulled it out to retrieve something - this does need attention as it gave me the ick when a string of soapy hair came out with it! There were also a few hairs in the sink. The bed was comfortable and the radiators heated up quickly. I would have liked a view in the morning, however with no windows, the condensation obscured it. A small desk and chair would have been useful to do some work. The full English breakfast was lovely. However, with no bins, I had to take the empty cereal box to my table when I decided to have a starter to the main course as it were… a very minor irritation. There was also a hair in the bowl which I noticed half way through! I didn’t see any bins outside either, so I had to nip behind the reception to dispose of something! The staff were friendly and beers nice, as was the dinner. This is probably the best place to stay in the area.

Cozy hotel, very nice service! Our 3-bed room was very spacious, bright and clean. Bathroom with shower was also spacious. Breakfast was a choice of English breakfast, omelet, avocado toast, egg on toast. Juices, cereals, coffee or tea. It was nicely prepared and tasty. There is little parking available for guests. Central location, there are other various restaurants/snacks in the area. Recommended!

What a little gem of a place! The room was lovely, the only criticism is that the shower hose could do with changing and that really is all. Please don’t put the radiators on til it gets much colder, the room was sooo hot and we only found the fan in the morning!!! Bed was very comfy though so once I’d turned the radiator off we slept ok. The breakfast was included in the £112 room price and was perfect. Egg white cooked and yolk runny, and superb quality bacon and sausage. The staff in the hotel part were lovely, the bar however wasn’t great but again the staff were good. Thank you for a great stay in room 2.

"It's a free glass of water" the audacity! I have just spent £50 on food and you can't get me a straw!

**Arrival Experience** Our arrival set an unfortunate tone for our stay. Despite having a reservation, we waited 10-15 minutes for someone to check us in. The staff could see us waiting, but were serving drinks instead. This delay was frustrating after a long journey and left us feeling a bit neglected right from the start. **Room Quality** The room itself was mediocre at best and clearly in need of a revamp. The bathroom, in particular, had visible mildew and was in dire need of a deep clean and a fresh coat of paint. **Comfort and Sleep Quality** One of the most critical issues we faced was the unbearable heat in the room. Despite our best efforts, the temperature didn't drop below 25-27 degrees Celsius, making it impossible to get a good night's sleep. This discomfort was so severe that we ended up cutting our stay short by a day, simply because we couldn't endure another sleepless night. **Breakfast Experience** The breakfast offered was also below expectations. As someone with Coeliac Disease, I was disappointed by the lack of suitable alternatives. On the first day, the gluten-free option was to simply omit certain items, which is not ideal. On subsequent days, I was served items that potentially contained gluten, like a vegetarian sausage and a regular meat sausage, both of which are often made with wheat. This lack of attention made breakfast a stressful rather than enjoyable experience. **Parking Issues** The most frustrating aspect of our stay was the parking situation. Despite the car park being marked for hotel guests only, it was clear that non-guests were using the space, likely people working in the town. This left us without a place to park, even though we specifically chose this hotel for its advertised parking facilities. The staff's response was unhelpful; we asked three different staff members where we could park and received no clear answers. One staff member's dismissive comment, "it's a long story," followed by walking away, was particularly unprofessional. Adding to the frustration was the unexpected £10 per day parking fee, which felt unfair given the lack of available spaces and the fact that parking was supposed to be included. If I could recommend anything going forward for parking, it would be to provide permits for hotel guests only. **Overall Impression** In summary, our stay at this hotel was far from satisfactory. From the delayed check-in and subpar room conditions to the inadequate breakfast and parking frustrations, there were multiple areas where the hotel fell short. The poor communication and lack of assistance from the staff only compounded these issues.

The bar staff are consistently excellent (my parents owned pubs, so I have experience of both living in pubs and working in the hospitality sector too, therefore can't help but quietly observe). Stayed here for 3 nights. They were honest from the start and said there was no chef at present. However, they mentioned the other eateries in the area, which was helpful. They did do cooked breakfasts in the morning though which were top-notch. The room was comfortable and quite cosy, well heated and it was freezing out so nice to come back to a warm room. It's an old building. Therefore, no double glazing, so lots of condensation in the mornings and left the room smelling a little damp. They did come in every day to clean this and wipe the windows. The bathroom was ok. There's a lovely deep bath however the water pressure was so low it would have taken at least 45 minutes to an hour to fill it and then it would have been cold due to taking so long to fill. The room was at the back of the building, and considering how busy the pub got in the evenings, we couldn't hear it where we were. If you're just down to visit family, it's a good little bolt hole, not so much for a mini break where you want that little bit of luxury.

Clean, comfortable room, convenient location and a fairly decent breakfast the following morning. Unfortunately however, the staff were not great. After waiting for 15 minutes, the woman at reception treated our arrival like an inconvenience and thrust the card payment machine at me without smiling or saying much of a word. The woman at breakfast asked if we'd like tea or coffee once we'd sat down, then pointed us to the self service facilities in the corner. I thought she was joking. On the bright side, good WiFi, quiet hotel and a great mattress. Bathroom could have done with shower gel.

Opted to stay at the Eyre Hotel to support local run services. A perfect location, the room was fine & staff were lovely. There was not many restaurants with a good plant-based/vegan menu open as it was Monday. Not much choice on Eyre Hotel menu so both my daughter & I went with the pasta dish. It was awful, overcooked & dried in tomato sauce. We couldn’t eat it. How hard is it to cook a basic pasta dish!! Complained and server said he would inform the chef. We waited & waited & nothing or nobody appeared. Dreadful customer care. Breakfast not much better. Luckily I had brought my own plant-based milk as there was none. No avocado left & no non-diary spread for toast. It’s shame because catering for plant-based diets is easy. In Seaton again beginning of Sept & it is with regret that I will be staying at the Premier Inn. At least I’ll get fed there.

Have never left a bad review before but after this horrendous meal I couldn’t not warn others. Came for a family meal, was first told there were no peas for the kids meals and that there was no alternative. 2 pies were brought out and both burnt to a crisp, couldn’t believe they thought it was acceptable to bring this food out to paying customers. When asked, the waitress said they usually looked like that. One of the kids meals was then brought out which was meant to be fish Goujons - shocking and no fish in sight. Told them not to bother bringing the rest of the food out and got our money back. Appalling.

They need to get their food offering sorted. Having given a food order at the bar (2 pies) was then told that the kitchen had been really busy and they had run out of everything apart from pizzas. Other customers were eating meals from the main menu and other orders were brought out. To be fair, the pizzas were fine but it seems from other reviews these issues have been ongoing for some months. We first went in as they still have Greene King signage outside (hiding behind it?) and expected the standard corporate menu having eaten in another of their pubs in a neighbouring village the previous evening. Surprising that GK have not asked for their signs to be removed. Whatever the issues they're having with staff etc., it's not a great customer offering.

There are not many pubs in seaton so we tried this for a bite to eat. They tried their best and the food was ok, but the pub has a very strange atmosphere, with all kinds of different groups. The bar lady was rude, although the landlady friendly. The customers, when I was in there made it feel like a Weather spoons on steroids. The bar in Star Wars came to mind.

Been on holiday to Seaton this week and had a great time but must say the only disappointing bit about the week was our visit to the Eyre Court Hotel. I went with my family including my dad and his partner (who live in Seaton). The hotel had stopped doing food at 7pm so we got the children some chips from the shop next door. We were drinking in the pub garden (7 of us) and was approached by a very rude ginger haired guy who worked here demanding we take the food elsewhere ‘right now!’ Now I understand that this may be the policy but he was so rude I was completely and utterly shocked by this. When we asked for some plastic cups we were then told we were not welcome back!! My dad (who is 64) was mortified! There was absolutely no need for this aggressive behaviour as we were moving on as asked. As we were leaving we saw another couple eating chips in the garden. They were approached and asked if they would like to finish their meal in the lounge!! They were obviously locals and therefore was given preferential treatment. Having spoken to a few people this week, I understand that this is normal behaviour from this hotel, particularly from the rude ginger man. Lots of people said they swerve this hotel in favour of the Malt house next door. Such a shame We will never return here.

I had a table booked for 8 people last night to celebrate a birthday in the family, the menu was a joke being a mixture of one starter (soup and a roll) and about four main courses, if you could call them "mains" when I explained to them that this is not what is advertised on their website, the response was no better than a " tough". Fortunately we got booked into a far better establishment locally at the last minute and left. They didn't even apologies. I would not recommend this place.

We came here last year and returned this year for it to become our pub of choice in Seaton. This year we arrived to find the patio area had been refurbished with solid wood decking, seating, benches and tables. This is a huge improvement on what they had before and gives a lovely space to drink in the sun.Children and dogs are made welcome both outside and inside and the staff are all very friendly and helpful. Ideally located in the centre of town so it’s a great place to visit for a drink after the beach.

Always a super atmosphere here. Haven't been for a while but it was just as friendly as I remember it being.

This place is a disgrace. It is in need of a total refurbishment. How they can charge the money they do is appalling. Wallpaper gaping, mould, dirty mouldy showers, stains on the cheap carpet. Poor breakfast...shocking!

Don’t normally like Greene King pubs but at the Eyre Court they serve a decent pint of Otter bitter so their forgiven. This is a friendly pub with a decent atmosphere and pretty maintained inside and out. They have recently built a nice sitting area outside which is a great place to watch the world drift by.

An all day opening pub for people who want to drink all day, and those in the building trade.Friendly service, good beer, lots of outdoor seating looking over the high street. It’s not really for families, but it’s friendly and fun when you need that drink.

Absolutely horrible, rooms are a joke, food came wrong, cold and hopelessly late, and the live music did not turn up AGAIN !? I'm beginning to think that these people are actually just advertising live music acts to get us mug punters in there under false pretenses....!?

Came here for a drink with my partner, well.. it took ages to get served, the bar was just full off people dancing to the live singer, he was okay. The female toilets weren't very sign posted and to get to them you had to walk through the 'dance floor' which was very small and limited and some man even tutted at me for getting in the way. I didn't eat here as I can't imagine anyone being able to sit down and have a nice meal with all the dancing and noise. Could be a lovely pub but looks like somewhere that the locals come for a party. The pub opposite is much calmer.

Went in Friday early evening 5 of us and my granddaughter. The waitress recommended the slow cooked pork, it was piping hot and absolutely delicious one had burger one had Thai green curry and steak for the others. It was an excellent meal all round and the waitress couldn't do enough for us. I cannot recommend this place enough. Thank you for a great meal.

Land & Sea is our must stop pub/restaurant when we visit Exmouth, super friendly and helpful staff, always really clean. Whether we are stopping for just a drink or for lunch, we are always welcomed with the same warmth. The food is delicious, lots of choice on the menu & lovely specials, we always find something different to eat each time & are never disappointed. The staff are very knowledgeable about the specials. Highly recommended and will be returning when we visit again

Had cod & chips. Sadly extremely greasy chips. So much so that the box had a puddle in the bottom. Not good and inedible (shame as it was a decent portion). The fish was marginally better and seemed fresh but batter very soggy with grease.

Been to Hughsies again for a few meals while on holiday in Seaton. Lovely breakfasts freshly cooked and good service. Lunches were a more difficult choice as there was a good selection and I know from experience that whatever we chose would be delicious. I have seen a number of negative comments on here but my husband and I have never had a problem. Nice clean cafe and good fresh cooked meals. We will be back again next year.
