Fort Inn in Cornwall, Isles of Scilly

Amazing evening, the Fort hosted a private event!! Everything was absolutely perfect, the service the food the venue highly recommend!!

Had a great time, 5 of us on a table with beautiful views. I had pork and turkey for my carvery, the others had beef which was all lovely, gravy and toasties were very tasty too. Service with a smile to top it off. We will be back.

Came for our dinner as heard the curry menu was very good. Pub was clean with a nice atmosphere, music not too loud. Clean toilets. Lovely helpful staff. We all ordered food off the curry menu. It arrived very quickly and was piping hot. Came with plenty of condiments and was absolutely superb. Really tasty with loads of flavour. A very enjoyable evening, thank you.

Monday night is curry night.We were a party of four friends and all really were very impressed by the tasty plateful . Exceptional once again!

This is a lovely Pub great atmosphere, friendly staff and wonderful views. Tables cleared as soon as finished. We have eaten here before off the normal menu which was very tasty this time we had Sunday Lunch. Unfortunately, would not have again. The meat was lovely but the vegetables were so tasteless and cauliflower cheese mushy. Will go back again but not for the Sunday Lunch

Fantastic place, being disabled I found it easy to get around with my mobility scooter. We also ate and had a very good meal.

Terrible experience. They didn't have the meal i wanted, which is disappointing considering it was a Friday evening at 1900 (they ran out). We ordered drinks on the app, which after 30 minutes hadn't come (by this time we both had our uninspiring food and was talking about what we'll be getting from mcdonalds). I went to the bar after finishing my meal only to be told the machine that prints the orders from the app was on the floor and nobody bothered to check it. No apology or offer of one of the seinks to be free. Normally I'm a bit of a dick and would complain but I think the utter shock of how bad the entire experience was just turned me into a zombie and to top it off the coke must of been from the bottom of the barrell as it was flat. I can't describe the joy when I left. Wouldn't recommend but if you're a brave soul and enjoy disappointment this is the place for you.

Always first stop on our holiday. Good prices, good service and fantastic views.

Nice food for the middle of a busy Newquay Children’s menu was good and the portion sizes were as big as the main menu! Worth keeping in mind What was great was the soft play area for our 2 year old to keep busy before our food arrived

Don’t even know where to start to be honest. DO NOT BUY THE HUNTERS CHICKEN. Pink inside and raw got it taken back and then they brought another one and that was raw to … WOULD NOT GET THE HUNTERS CHICKEN.

Love this place, been going here since I was a kid and it never fails to pull you into the fantastic views from the beer garden.

It has plenty outdoor seats for you to enjoy the view with your companions. They offers local beer and others. Nice place with reasonable price!

Lovely location, lovely food, tried to order on the app to my table but the table numbers didn't go high enough to use the app. Other than that we really enjoyed it.

Quite possibly the saddest looking burger I’ve been ever served, not to mention it cost £14.25. Other meals looked better in fairness, avoid the “burger menu” they actively promote.

Really dog friendly place loads of space to eat but I’d definitely book just in case. I had the pie which was nice and hot my husband had the chicken burger with fries which was lukewarm which is a shame but would still go back.

Nice place to take the kids. It's a great place to sit and drink a beer with an amazing view. Down side, the food is average at best and overpriced. Some of the staff had a bit of attitude. We had a large party and the kids were running around, not causing any trouble just being kids, the staff canmme over and ask us for them to stop running around (with an attitude), the pub is aimed at families and especially kids, with a kids play area, if kids can't play and have fun then what's the pint in taking them?

Entered the venue found a table the venue was busy, ordered my food and drink no napkins but that was ok I had wipes and a pack of tissues in my bag the food came out very promptly and whilst eating one of the staff came along to clear the table opposite - whilst I ate the lady picked up the condiment on the opposite table which must of had some sticky on her hand received from the condiment which she proceeded to wipe off on the condiment!!! - I thought to myself as I sat there that’s ok when she cleans the table she will also clean the condiments but to my shock she didn’t she cleaned the table replaced the knives and forks and napkins but didnt clean the condiment wooden holder/stand now I know why I carry wipes around with me

Ordered on the app took 25 mins for 2 drinks. All staff just chatting inside when I went to see where the drinks were. Amazing views from outdoor seating area of Newquay. Glad we didn’t have food as everyone seemed to be waiting ages

Great location with a stunning view.

Fish n chips better than the famous Stein brand, friendly staff, stunning location, great selection of local brews. What more can you want? We stay in Newquay twice a year. This place is always our favourite no matter what season it is. Definitely recommend come rain or shine.

Shan't be eating here again after I've just watched the waitress topping up all the mayonnaise jars from other jars ,cross contaminating all the sell by dates !

Fantastic views of the ocean while you eat. A little more expensive than other places but really nice food so worth that little bit more.

Amazing view, super competitive price, location tidy and cleaned. It's 5 minute walking from a long stay car parking and from town centre.

Had a fantastic meal last year so returned this year. Once again we were not disappointed. Staff very friendly. Food was good. Lovely and clean. Could do with a bit bigger menu choice in my personal opinion however I can't fault my choice. We like the fact dogs are Welcome and left out are bowls and water for them. And with a little treat too. We will be back on our next visit.

Fantastic views! Great to pop in for a drink overlooking the sea. Huge garden area and quite big inside too. Have visited a few times this week for the view.

Booked for a meal then got a email saying booking cancelled so went to Bowgie Inn at Crantock and spent my money there all week. Much better pub /restaurant and views of Crantock beach. Tried to book a 2nd time still couldn't get a table so went to The Stable at Fistral beach very good restaurant/ pub spent our money there instead. Won't bother ever again going to The Fort

If you are looking for great food, friendly staff and a nice view of the beach this is a fantastic place to eat. We ordered drinks and food ( fish & Chips, lasange and Classic beef burger) which were all amazing. I couldn't fault our visit up to this point, apart from a bit of a wait to order but that just reflects the good reputation of The Fort. However, I was left disappointed when my partner went to order dessert (Biscoff Cheesecake x3) to be told that we would have to wait 40 minutes after we waited 40 minutes for food as the ticket would be in the queue with those awaiting food. I cannot understand how this is the system in place? I don't think anyone in their right mind would wait that long for dessert. We left disappointed and went to look for dessert elsewhere. Therefore 4 stars 🌟 for a review which would have been 5 as the food was amazing just need more staff/ organised system in place.

Awful service , members of staff clearly haven't got an eye for who is next and it wasn't that busy , older lady telling me I was not next ,when I patiently had let people who turned up after me get served to the point when I had to say something , felt like I grown stubble where I had been there that long .

Got to the pub and had to seek out a member of staff to find our table. The table was still yet to be cleaned and was missing a chair. Ordered some fairly expensive drinks (£11.70 for a large house wine, which seems fairly expensive even for newquay). After looking through the menu, went to the bar to order, and was told a good portion of the main menu was out of stock (mixed grill, lasagna, chicken salad, chicken and ribs, cajun chicken). The server didn't seem to care whatsoever. It would have been nice if we'd have been told about the lack of choice on arriving. Other than that, fairly nice but pricey food. Good location overlooking the harbour.

Large shop inside and outside, relaxed atmosphere and fast service. For drinks, you order online from the table (except for certain hours) and for food, from the bar, which at peak times has a queue but they serve quickly. It has a bowl , water and treats for dogs. It has a very nice view of Towan beach. We have used the toilets (which in peak hours need a little more attention) even if we didn't sit down to eat.

Great place for kids and lovely sea views. Although the bar was busy with food orders we didn't have to wait long and the food was good.

The food was excellent and the service from every member of staff was first class, we will definitely be returning on our next visit to Cornwall

If it's a nice day you couldn't ask for a better view while you eat. Pretty standard pub fare but it didn't promise anything more than that and it delivered what was expected for a fair price.

Great views and good food. The terrace was quite busy, but it was very quiet inside.

We only had a drink so can't comment on food other than seeing others eating it looked nice. The pub is set in a great location overlooking the harbour and branches in Newquay great for a drink. Only rated service 3starts as we ordered the drink via the app and after 20mins wait it never arrived so went to the bar to be told just ordering drinks via the app doesn't always work as the orders get lost. The staff we're apologetic and I felt we should have just gone to bar instead of being lazy anyway 🙊

Enjoyed our visit down memory lane. A lot has changed in 30 years, but still the same great service and views.

Today I went into this place to ask for a missing refund that I wasn’t provided on Sunday, and me and My partner were both verbally abused by the Assistant manager named (Paul) he repeatedly and loudly insulted us and offended us in front of all the other customers just because we were asking for something that is our right as non-satisfied customers. On sunday I went in there and ordered a cocktail that after 25 minutes was never delivered, so I approached the tills and asked for a refund because I couldn’t wait any longer, the same guy did not provided me with the refund but wither with a receipt that showed the details of the transaction just some random printed paper saying that it’d take 24 hours for the refund to be processed… then today Tuesday 13 of august, I walked over 2 miles to ask what was going on and the same guy (Paul - Assistant manager) came back to me and was extremely rude and disrespectful, he insulted me and my partner, shouted at as and somehow threatened us, we are considering taking legal actions against this individual, and against the establishment probably with the financial ombudsman for allowing someone like that disrespect and threaten customers in such a negative way and also for denying me the right to get something that corresponds me (my Money) … So unless you want to be abused and disrespected in the most horrendous way AVOID at all costs visiting this place.

Me to a barman: "See you later." The barman (sarcastically): "Can't wait." The rest of the staff: "Ha-ha-ha" No, you won't see me later. Goodbye.

The pub was nicely decorated with a good Outside space. The toilets however were disgusting and tye general mess on the floor and tables put me off eating there

We had dinner here early on a Friday night in August during Boardmasters. We were pleased to find all the youngsters at Boardmasters had left town and were at the festival site. This meant that the pub was quite quiet with plenty of seating available. We ate inside since the seagulls outside are extremely aggressive. The quality of the food was good for a pub. Service was exceptional, with plenty of staff. Service at the bar was quick and friendly. The view from their beer garden is probably one of the best in the UK. We could see the Boardmasters festival site right across the bay. Overall, we have no hesitation in recommending this pub and we will return.

It's was busy, but there was plenty of room and the food came out quickly. Good quality food and very tasty. I will visit again this week.

Went in today for lunch. The portion size for the price wasn't great. Spent over £60 on 3 kids meals, 1 wrap and a few sides plus drinks. Staff were in a rush to clear the table when obviously not finished eating. The place needs to either review their pricing or up the portion size. P.s coleslaw should at least be homemade coleslaw if your charging £3

Awful place. Staff are no help whatsoever. Had to get rummage through a pile of menus to find the children’s menu myself. Then had to get the high chair myself. Never been somewhere so unhelpful. Place is also disgustingly dirty with food all over the floor. Plus the food was terrible. Worst place I’ve been to in Newquay.

We didn’t eat here but enjoyed nice cold drinks with beautiful views. The staff were always very nice and polite.

Food and service were OK/ good but the seating area smelt of cat pee and the customer toilets smelt like a sewer, really bad. General sanitation needs to be greatly improved

Caesar salad is without chicken! So basicly salad, croutons and some low quality cheese. Children's pasta is without flavour. Tourist trap.

The cajun chicken is fantastic. We've eaten here 3 times during our holiday.

Quality, great food and service on a very busy evening

I ordered Hunters Chicken and when it came out the chips were burnt, chicken and bacon was so dry they also seemed over done, I have arthritis in my hands so I asked for a simple salt pot, they couldn't help me and I couldn't twist the salt they had. Totally not recommended. Wetherspoons are better food.

Booked for Sunday dinner time. We had a very friendly welcome and were shown to our seats which had a great view out to sea. After the initial disappointment of there being no roast on the menu. We ordered food at the bar and the food came out promptly. The food was really nice and good size. The drinks menu is extensive. There is a terrace garden outside overlooking the sea and the views are stunning and well worst the visit just for the views alone. I would recommend this place to everyone.

This pub is honestly gorgeous to look at and a very clean place, the staff were so quick to help us and we got our food within 15 minutes of ordering it. The food was amazing and we finished it all. The toilets are clean which is a bonus. We sat inside and it was a good temperature and not too busy but the view from out the window to the sea was gorgeous - there’s loads of room to sit both in and out.

Superb location overlooking the harbour... Sometimes you might catch a glimpse of the local seals. Lovely food and vegan options. They do an organic red wine that is amazing, pricey, but one of the best I've tasted. There's a small, indoor soft-play area that will keep the kids entertained for hours... And it's free!

Came here a year ago2023 that was good food well worth prices that yr this year though weren't nice food chips dry fish dry luckily I had curry sauce dry mash no gravy no onion rings no nuts certainly not worth the prices in 2024

Me and my partner came here on the 10th July for some drinks and food .food and Drink prices are decent. however… when ordering my boyfriend made it clear to the barman that I had a shellfish allergy and questioned the cooking method and all was cleared as safe to eat . I later in the night had an allergic reaction to the food . (Lucky I do not react in a deadly manor and only throw the contents up). I think the allergens need to be revisited and understood by all staff , for the safety of others with allergies ( especially those who react a lot worse than me) . The food was okay , nothing special but good for the price. Unfortunately was just ruined by the allergy. Lovely atmosphere and great location

Great place to sit and look out over the bay.lovely staff very good service nice meals . Real ale was always top quality .tables were cleaned after each use and condiments boxes always looked good.

Decided on dinner at the fort for a 90th birthday celebration an I wasn’t disappointed it has the most amazing views and the food was delicious and very reasonably priced, The staffwere extremely helpful an even tho it was very busy with people watching the euros we were still able to have a lovely family meal I’d definitely dine here again

Always seems to be busy, would recommend booking a table on weekends. Good selection of food options. Food quality is good with decent portions. Kids and dog friendly. Staff (lots of them) are helpful and polite.
