We were camping just down the road this past weekend and decided to have a browse - I'm glad we did as there was much more to this farm shop than I was expecting. Lots of different produce and gifts type things all quite nicely set out. Some things were sensibly priced considering you do expect to pay a slight premium at a farm shop (postcards 50p, fresh scones £1, clotted cream £1.99), but some of the prices were a little shocking - there were loaves of fresh bread at £4.50 and I nearly had a heart attack when I saw the price of ice cream being served at the side of the car park! Overall a worthwhile trip - the scones were delicious, good selection of ciders and got some lovely warm slipper socks. I'd recommend popping in if you're passing (the views are fantastic too) just don't expect any bargains.

The food was fantastic. Fresh vegetables cooked to perfection, meat succulent. The chef has the perfect blend of herbs to enhance the food but not overpower the flavour. Great range of beer and cider. The pub was on the side of the canal so plenty to see as well. I would definitely recommend a visit.

Took my wife & children for lunch. We sat in the extra seating side as the main side was full. Extra seating side was getting quite busy as well. Found a table to suit us & chose from the menu, only to be told I would need to go into the main side to order as the counter in our side was not in use. On waiting in a long queue & getting to the till area, I was told that the smaller plates menu on the tables was not in use. I then had to go back to the table to allow the children to choose something different. My wife then asked a member of staff passing our table why they are not doing smaller plates for the children on the main menu, who then returned with the same smaller plates menu that we had been told they were not using. My wife told the member of staff that we had not been asked if it was for the children. We felt that we had been overlooked by our age and having foster children. We were then told that we could order from the smaller plate menu . My wife then said that it would not be good enough to have to queue again and the staff member got another staff member to place our order at the “not in use” till. Once we did manage to order, the food then took another 45 minutes to arrive. This is a place we have used many times, but the service we received today was shambolic and we feel that we were judged by our ages with children.

A lovely tea room with excellent attentive staff with very good memories as welcome and greet visitors from all over the country on holiday that revisited Coasters. Make their customers very welcome new and old from previous summers they recognise on entry. Great coffee and very good food with selection to suit everyone. Wishing you all the very best, you deserve it.

Excellent Sunday lunch. Well done and thanks to Ray & Jo, and their staff, for working so hard ,and so quickly to get the pub open for lunch after a 24 hour power cut. We all appreciated it, and it shows how determined you are in ensuring the 'Riser' once again becomes a successful, thriving country pub. A pub which locals and visitors will want to return to time & time again. Can't wait for the Christmas tapas evening, more live music and plenty of laughter. Thank you Jo & Ray for bringing back our welcoming local. For the excellent food, good range of drinks and plenty of laughter.

Our annual Christmas meal with 16 of us last night and our first time here . The food and service were both excellent and nothing was too much trouble from the friendly staff, landlady and landlord and of course the pubs cat Ninja . We had a great night, have booked for next year and will return for a Sunday roast soon . We braved the awful weather to drive over from Dawlish and it was 💯 worth the journey. We will also watch out for your events on Facebook it’s a shame we already have New Years planned or we’d be at the Casino buffet with you Thank you for a lovely time !

Me & my partner came here on 5/9/24 on a very rainy day. We both grabbed a little drink and a treat here and relaxed in the lovely cafe after a long wet walk from Croyde bay. The staff here were wonderful and all really lovely! The millionaires shortbread was the best I’ve ever had and the cheesy chips were delicious! There is a wide variety of drinks to choose from, both hot and cold. Really lovely vibes and will definitely come here again!

Visited on several occasions, I haven't got a problem with the food never have, always been good and cheese scones are almost perfect. This review is not about the food. Arrived at the counter to order food, I said hello, no response, order taken, obviously we were an inconvenience. This thankfully did not extend to the drinks section of the counter. Much better response from the staff there. Kinda put me off visiting again, if that's the greeting I am going to get.
