Eight of us including children went for a birthday dinner yesterday, the day after Boxing Day, and had the absolutely best meal. The pub was busy with a great atmosphere which we weren't expecting straight after Christmas when things can be much quieter. The chef is to be recommended and we will definitely return. In a bit of a good food wilderness, this pub stands out!

We returned to The King's Arms this December for our work's Christmas lunch. We used to go every Christmas for our Christmas meal before Covid and decided to come back after a few disappointing years elsewhere. There was a big group of us (25) and we all had the set Festive Menu. The service before (booking etc) and on the day was exceptional, the staff were helpful and friendly! The atmosphere, facilities and food/drinks were all excellent and everyone had a great time. The pool table and darts are always popular with our group and it's a nice way to continue after lunch. The thing we all like most about this place is that it definitely feels like a 'real, traditional, local pub' but it's close to town so always central and convenient for everyone. Highly recommended! If you're after a Gastro Pub, Bistro, Fine Dining etc perhaps not the right place for you.

We used the restaurant with friend for Saturday dinner, breakfast & Sunday carvery as we were e staying at the holiday village. For dinner I had Wiltshire ham fried eggs and chips, with a side of coleslaw and soft drinks. My wife had chicken curry All tasted very good indeed. Breakfasts , full English etc were equally tasty although they were short staffed throughout and some of the help your self-items e.g. toast & coffee were not replenished regularly enough . Great value for money though & Sunday carvery very tasty . The young ladies who served us were again polite & responded well to pressures .Overall very good

Absolutely amazing from start the finish. The rooms that we stayed in are at the back of the property and are like little houses. We loved it. The beds were like sleeping in clouds! Everything was spotlessly clean and tidy. It was so peaceful too. Breakfast the next day was lovely, Leah cooked it to perfection. The pub itself has so much history. I wouldn’t hesitate to book this again next time we are down.

What a very disappointing evening. We had checked on line for the last two weeks and it said it was open and had decided what we were going to have eat. The photos of the pub was amazing. We got dressed up and walked to the pub after a long journey to get here for our holiday. When we arrived there it was closed. There is nothing else in Carhampton to get something to eat. We had to walk back to our place and then try and find somewhere else to eat The website is still so how many other disappointed are going to go there for their dinner.

True fine dining in elegant surroundings. Delicous food, exquisitely presented. Mushroom starter to die for. Duck main course extremely good. Wish we didn't live so far away!

Returning to Clevedon after a very long time it was a bit odd to find ourselves back on Hill Road (but that is the weird emotional bit out of the way). We were a bit peckish so popped into the cafe. Had not planned to end up going for the full breakfast - but we did (one vegetarian and one meat). Gosh. They were massive. I was on the meat one, but I simply could not finish it! A first. The Good Lady had to have a piece of my toast + and egg + tomato. (A piece of bacon was scurried out in a serviette). So value-for-money, to me, it was right up there. Admittedly, and looking at other reviews, I might agree that the staff seemed quite new/a little lost at times. Not sure if there is perhaps lots of turnover but they did seem to be struggling at times. Courteous though. We felt very reasonably priced.

When we visit Yate we always like to go to Boswells the food is always lovely and the staff are always helpful. They have plenty of staff and they all seem to be happy in their work. Tables are always cleaned and when observing I see that the staff are always on hand to help people that need a hand taking drinks to their tables and anything they need. The restaurant has a lovely welcoming atmosphere and I liken it to a community meeting place. Lovely tasty food well cooked with a great choice and always a welcoming smile from the staff, which makes a huge difference to feeling welcome. Thank you to all I look forward to our next visit. Jan & Kevin….

Our Daughter and partner have just recently moved to the village and we were visiting for the first time. Decided to go out for dinner at the Kings Arms. Not disappointed , the food was excellent with a good menu and special board and an excellent pint of stag. Despite being very busy the staff were attentive and friendly. Only disappointment, it’s not my local. Looking forward to returning soon. Thanks

I went with my family for an overnight stay at The Bologbroke Arms on 27/09. We checked in mid afternoon and decided to venture to the bar for a quick drink. We enjoyed the ambience and quality of service so much that we ended up staying for food, which was excellent. However, what really sets the Bolingbroke apart is the outstanding service from the team, with a special mention to Jess and co on the dinner service for helping us to enjoy a lovely evening. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
