Fab food! Grabbed 3 pizzas and a burger whilst in the area. They all were very tasty. Price is just about right. Would definitely recommend.

Amazing food! First sampled the pizza from the mobile van when staying at a local holiday park. It was so good that we decided to drive to the actual restaurant/take away shop to order burgers and chips. Staff were so lovely and welcoming to all. Food was delicious. Couldn’t finish it all, huge portions. Would definitely recommend to anyone that visits Bude.

Ordered a takeaway pizza, chicken burger and chips. Both meals were delicious and freshly cooked to order. The staff were really friendly, even though I was being a fussy customer and ordering off menu. The place looked fab and loved meeting Gus the Gorilla who patiently sits outside!

Food was excellent would recommend for anyone staying in bude, nice and fresh and the staff are lovely.

Visiting family in Kilkhampton and was tired after a long day crabbing we decided to grab 3 pizzas 2 chips and a garlic bread totalling £55 not exactly cheap but unfortunately was met with pre made pizza bases which were very chewy and “bready” NOBODY ate any crust whatsoever as we were so overwhelmed by the base of the pizza! Very unfortunate and would never return!

Staff were very nice & polite, and things looked okay when I opened our Rooster burger & chips when I got back home. However then chicken tasted awful, like it had been brought from the local Chinese restaurant. The coating on the chicken was like mush and just came off as we bit into it, the actual chicken tasted like it was processed & we couldn't eat it. Very disappointed & would not go back there.

Small burger/pizza place with amazing interior. Really good pizza, kids were delighted. Highly recommended! Definitely we will be coming back.

Placed our order over the phone, very prompt and was ready within 15 minutes. We ordered 2 pizzas a burger, garlic bread and fries, food was delicious and would highly recommend.

Undercooked topping, over cooked base. Expensive. Not very welcoming either. As we arrived 30 minutes before the closing time and were made to feel we were a nuisance.

The pizza was good, tasted wood fired which was nice. We thought it was slightly overpriced though for what we got.

Visited here for 3 pizzas. Omg it may as well have been from Iceland. The 12" thin and crusty farmhouse was like a normal deep pan with so many red onions on it and was undercooked. And the 14" deep pan margarita, which should have been a hawaian was like thick cut bread with melted cheese on it. None of the bases could possibly have been freshly made. I make better pizzas in my pizza oven at home. Avoid at all costs.

As good as the reviews said it would be! I drove past this place and the Gorilla sat outside piqued my interest. Looked at the reviews on TripAdvisor and thought it would be worth visiting. I’m really really impressed, by not only the pizzas themselves but also the friendliness of the staff. They could t do enough to help, they really are amazing. Between us we had pepperoni. Hawaiian and a vegetarian. All excellent. I particularly loved my pizza (vege) as it had a decent selection of veg on top. All in all can’t fault this place. Highly recommended.

We stayed in nearby Atlantic Horizons which was only about 10 mins drive to this little gem. We had two 12” pizzas which were simply delicious along with a portion of skin on fries which were also very nice. We liked this place so much, we returned the following night for more pizza. Honestly, this place is the place to go for pizza when in the Bude area of Cornwall

We stayed in Stibb (2miles) and passed by chance, we decided to pay it a visit one evening. We had a selection of food for the family such as burgers, pizza and fries. The pizza was freshly made and so flavoursome, the burgers were very big and filling and the fries were skin on fries. Prices were reasonable for the area. We ended up using here twice during our week stay because the pizza was so good.

We visited late on 17 April on the off chance when passing enroute home. The very friendly staff made us a vegan cheese pizza fresh with many veg on top. It was just superb. Only had to wait less than 10mins. Full of flavour all the way. So thank you team. Much appreciated.

Excellent Pizza selection all made fresh to order. Good selection of side dishes - the nachos are delicious. Great value for money and we love that you call you order in, get a collection time and when you arrive its all ready to go. Better than Dominos !

Lovely food and really friendly service. The menu provides a good variety, including vegan, and it is open 6 days a week- will definitely be returning!

Having travelled six hours from the East Midlands to get here, we were ravenous on first evening. With a 50 minute wait for the fish and chip shop next door and having ear marked the Pizza Ape as our second choice for our meal for...

After spending all day battling the traffic I was in no mood for cooking. I popped into the chippy to be told there was a half-hour wait! Walked a few doors up and was greeted warmly as I entered the door. One meat feast ordered...

We were in Bude on holiday and fancied a pizza, Ape didn't disappoint!! great value for money and delicious pizzas! I would however recommend phoning your order in as we did have to come back 1 hour later for collection, but it was worth it!

Looked like a fun place - although welcome was not much fun! Front of house staff wearing poorly fitting PPE. Pizza was tasty however.

We had pizza from the origanal hut in Penstow which was really good, so we tried the pizza from the shop in Kilkhampton and we were very disappointed with it so we will not be returning, it was all dough with limited toppings and no taste.

Fantastic pizza, could not fault them. The gentleman serving us was lovely had we had a good chat. I rang the order in and it took 15 minutes for 2 pizzas. We used the one in Penstowe Park as we were camping in Pentire Haven next door. The server gave me Haribo for coming out in the rain haha. He was lovely. Pizzas were good. Great taste and plenty of toppings. £19.50 for 2 12 inch pizzas. There is nowhere to eat here as it is more of a hut where you order and then pick the pizza up.

We had Pizza one night when we had been out and about and wanted something easy for tea. Got 4 takeout pizzas from the Penstow shop. The pizzas were well cooked and very tastey - enjoyed by all the family, so much so none left for the dog.

The best pizza in Cornwall. Fresh not frozen and fast!! Will build topping to suit you if you fancy something different

One the nicest pizza's ive ever eaten. We ordered a tenessee special and a hawiian pizza. Both with fresh ingrediants and very very tasty. Had discount and brilliant tiffin from Gary the owner.

Went to the Pizza Shack at Penstowe after having truly awful undercooked, tasteless pizzas from The Stables. Spicy Mexican was the best and the Tennessee was delicious.

Good value for money and very tasty. Able to cater for all needs such as half and half. Very helpful. Friendly service. Open on a Sunday which is convenient for us campers.

Fantastic food, could not fault them one bit, fantastic staff always had time for a chat, we used these last year when they had the shop in kilkhampton, now moved to the Penstowe holiday park. Still as good

Stopped off here after reading online reviews, lived up to the very good reviews. My daughters birthday and she had the choice of evening food. Arrived to very friendly girl taking orders, and the owner/ pizza chef who was also very friendly. The pizza itself was cooked In front of you, all fresh, good selection of toppings and quick service.The only reason not rated 5star is we are not big on pizza, but it wS tasty and both pizzas were demolished!

At a recent friends wedding, the guys at the Pizza Shack were providing the evenings food (cooking pizzas to order in their ovens) and we were so impressed by how delicious the pizzas were that we had to go back and visit them properly a week later! We ordered beforehand over the phone which was easy, and stress free. As we live a half hours drive away, we requested that the pizzas be ready for collection at a later time which was no issue. On arrival, the pizzas were freshly cooked and waiting for us. As remembered at the wedding, the food was absolutely delicious. Will definitely be returning in future. Highly recommended.

The food is freshly cooked. One of my boys can not have dairy but he cooked something for him. You wait awhile but its well worth it and its cooked from fresh. The chips are nice and chunky. The owner was lovely and friendly.

We stayed at Penstowe Park in Kilkhampton and this lovely fella has a little pizza Hut just by the Manor house. His prices are great and the pizza was so yum. They are made right in front of you. Never got the man's man but he was lovely. Very welcoming and had a good natter.

Staying at penstowe park .. This is the most amazing pizza and so cheap and much better than Pizza Hut or dominoes ! Good for families

Picked up two pizzas and two positions of chips for an easy dinner for 4 on holiday. Ready exactly when they said it would be, very friendly staff and excellent chips.

Despite some of the reviews on here, we called in for a late easy tea tonight. Ordered meat feast and Atlantic pizzas, and though the bases might have been pre made the pizzas were lovely tastes and light. Friendly service and very welcoming. Can recommend them

Really enjoyed eating here.Pleasantly surprised by the menu, a number of unique toppings and all good quality.Vast majority of food here is taken away but there are a couple of tables if you want to eat in.Very few 'standard' pizza toppings and I like they try to use local ingredients, all very tasty.If you're a pizza fan and you find yourself passing through Kilkhampton be sure to try this place, you won't regret it

We have been visiting pizza ape for about 4 years now, every-time we go on holiday, the pizzas are great especially the vegetarian. They are nice and fresh as well as the salad and cakes.We always have take away.

Very nice Pizza, different from what I've had before...... some very strange combo's on offer !! Interior was interesting too. Staff seemed genuine enough and were helpful, well worth a visit if your in that neck of the woods camping or at B&B for a couple of days.

Pizzs Ape is mainly a take-away but has a very small seating area that allows you to dine in, which we did.The restaurant itself is decorated with several cuddly monkeys and gorillas which kept the children entertained whilst waiting for our food.When it arrived it was obvious that the pizzas had been made with very fresh toppings, they were very tasty and filling.The chef was very friendly and enjoyed chatting and entertaining the kids.The only reason I have given this a 4 and not a 5 is the size of the seating area which was very cosy when a couple also came in to dine.

Was stopping local and got take out twice. The pizzas on the first visit were great. Unfortunately the second time the dough seemed a bit past it's best. It was closed the day before if that's any coincidence? It may be an idea to have some music playing or something. Sat waiting in total silence with some other customers.

Super Pizza, sowohl "italian" als auch "deep dish". Frischer Belag (Gemüse, Pilze etc) auf leckerem Teig. So muss Pizza. Wenn dann auch noch auf Sonderwünsche eingegangen wird, ist alles richtig. Achtung: die große ist selbst mit Riesenhunger kaum zu schaffen :)

A group of 8 of us ordered food for our last night camping in Bude - the member of staff taking our order handled the busy restaurant really well and was very kind. The food was delicious and really cheap too!

Bought three pizzas, came to about 25 which was reasonable. Toppings were fresh and tasty staff friendly. I had a take out and was plenty for my 4 boys and my wife and I. A little disappointed the dough wasn't fresh but it was better than expected. If your near it's worth a try.

We were looking for somewhere to eat and came across this little hidden gem. At first glance it looks as though it might just be a take away but in fact there is some seating (as well as the take away). It was extremely busy but this did not effect the speed of service or friendly atmosphere. We could watch our pizzas being cooked and when they were served they were hot, full of flavour and absolutely delicious! Although busy we ate our pizzas in a relaxed and charming atmosphere. Will definitely visit again and can highly recommend.

Decent pizzas in a quirky little place, with a pleasant atmosphere and really good service. A bit pricey, but it is Cornwall. Be warned, buy a bottle of water for the incredible dehydration you will feel a few hours after eating this pizza!

Have come to pizza ape on more than one occasion and the food has been amazing but visited tonight and was very let down! Will not be returning again! Nothing was warm and the pizza bases were not fresh!

Restuarant was cold, food was average, although they didn't have what I wanted and we were the only people in there all night !! service was OK but to be honest I could of better spent my £29.00 somewhere else. Very disappointing

We popped in for a pizza to take back to our tent. It was by far the BEST pizza I've ever eaten. So cheesy!! I would literally drive 6hours to just get another pizza. Amazing!! And staff were great to very friendly and chatty :) thanks for a memorable pizza!

Having finally arrived at our yurt later than planned, when we ventured out in search of food (at 9:10pm) we discovered everything shuts...... at 9pm..... But the very kind pizza ape was at hand, he took us in and kindly made us a pizza whilst he was shutting up. We picked a pizza from the delicious sounding menu (not just your basic toppings here) and whilst the pizza was cooking we had a great chat with the owner. Very friendly and funny it was a pleasure to be made to feel so welcome. Pizza was very good value, and absolutely delicious. Definitely recommended - my only plea would be for the pizza ape to stay open later! :-)

Hard work, running a take-away in summer in Cornwall! However, The Ape manages to produce excellent quality pizzas, fast and of good quality at very good prices. Recommended

Decided to have Pizza one evening and came across the leaflet for Pizza Ape where we were staying on holiday. They offer a wide variety of Pizza's and you can make your own with a choice of bases. We figured that they would be busy when we ordered so we opted to ring. the person who took our order checked what we required and gave us a time for collection, even apologised for the delay due to being busy.The Pizza was ready on time when we collected and the prices were very reasonable. I must say it was a very tasty Pizza and would definitely recommend it, next time we're down this way we'll call in again.PS - I forgot to add the staff are friendly and attentive when ordering and serving. And, they do more than Pizzas with a choice of other meals as well if you don't fancy pizza

being local I thought id give this place a try, and I have to say I was slightly disappointed, both my partner had pizzas, but the menu has a good selection, we had the meat feast, the base was the best id eaten in along while and whilst there was plenty off topping it just lacked flavor!!!! however its not put me off visiting again but I will defo try something other than the pizza. It was good value for money, so do give it a try .

Went with family. Everyone loved it. Staff extremely helpful, even though they were rushed off their feet and inundated with orders. Pizzas were delicious. No complaints.

Unfortunately we had to finish cooking our pizzas when we got in from collecting them. The edges were cooked but the middle was soggy. 5 mins later in the oven and they were edible - what a shame.The chips o the other hand were lovely.

Didn't enjoy our pizza at all. Would be better off buying frozen from Morrison's. Also kilkhampton isn't in Bude so I don't know why they say they are.

The kids wanted pizza, so we went here. We have driven by, but never been in before. WHY HAVE WE NOT BEEN BEFORE????? The staff were extremely friendly, very chatty. There are tables inside, but as we had our four legged friend we ordered take out. The owner said there was a small balcony outside and we were welcome to sit there with her. The kids sat inside on a comfortable sofa waiting for the pizzas taking full advantage of the free wifi! The pizzas were ready in no time. I'm a vegetarian and I love pizzas but usually find them a bit lacking, not here there not!! What a wonderful taste explosion, I loved it, loved it, loved it. Did I mention it was nice? Lol! My kids and husband loved theirs too, saying the pizza was up there with the best pizzas they'd have. They should have had mine the it would have been the best they'd had! This is a must for anyone, if you drive by, you've really missed out!

Really tasty good Pizzas - we had 2 take-aways, plus sat in one night and Pizzas were still fab but my nachos were not good - You need to do more with your nachos regardless if they are main course or starter.I was so disappointed - that was my tea! (some burnt nacho chips and salsa - eh?) Their wine was also the worst I had ever tasted in my life!! I realised it was a box and it had clearly been sitting, opened, in a hot kitchen forever! That aside, Pizzas are more than tasty, staff are lovely, Oh and their chips are more than good too! Forget the nachos and the wine and get yourself to the The Pizza Ape!

All freshly cooked. Lovely fresh flavours. We often stay in Kilkhampton with friends and sometimes hire a cottage there. We recommend this locally owned pizza place.

me and my wife had pizza here and loved it was tasty and cooked how it should be. staff friendly and had a chat. as for the review below saying pizza hut etc better because "not frozen" your wrong! dominos and pizza hut have there dough balls brought in frozen as do most places you just do not know it there freshly made not fresh ingredients so would recommend people to go here and have a pizza as you wont be disappointed

Ordered an Atlantic 12" deep pan with extra olives. Sat in a comfy chair whilst waiting. Strong WiFi hot spot for submitting my trip advisor comments regarding Pizza Ape. Not long wait before my pizza was ready. Frendly staff, cozy waiting area and to top it all a delicious pizza was enjoyed.

The pizzas are really nice. There is a good selection of bases and toppings although they had sold out of the bigger size thin bases! Friendly and efficient service.

We love this pizza. Their garlic tear and share bread is so yummy! They are so friendly, even when they are busy take to time to chat.

Very friendly staff, helpful staff. Limited menue but first class food. One of the best take away places in the area. A home cooked feel to all the food we sampled and during the two weeks we were in the area, between the six of us that made up the group, I think we sampled most of what was on offer and have no complaint about anything we had. This is a very quaint and first class restaurant and take away.
