It is a while since I reviewed The Queen’s Arms, we’ve got into the habit of walking up here when we are in Nancherrow for our monthly visits, and I have to say since the change of ownership 2 years ago (?) we have not been disappointed. The roast beef is always spot on, the atmosphere lively, service prompt and friendly. More importantly the ale is fabulous. Well done team, a great pub.

We came here twice on our holiday after it being recommended by reviews on here, and then the owner of our cottage. Firstly, we had a roast dinner. It was absolutely amazing. I would highly recommend. Big portions and friendly staff, and a lovely relaxed vibe. We sat in the back for this meal. I booked this over a week in advance, and it was busy, so definitely book a table. Sunday lunch service is a limited time frame. This was the best roast dinner I’ve bought from a pub… high praise well deserved. Secondly, we came on our last night which coincidentally was a Friday night. Totally different vibe as expected. The staff were very busy but still pleasant whilst they worked hard. We booked a table at 6pm over the phone at about 1pm that same afternoon. We knew it would be busy. We were sat in the bar area for this meal near the door for the kitchen. My teenage son was the nearest to the swing door, and to be fair he said it was stressful sitting there. The food was nice, the menu isn’t huge, and isn’t accurate on the website. I feel like the website may be a winter menu judging by what’s listed. Again, big portions and nice. We did see a lady arrive for takeaway pizzas? I didn’t see this anywhere on the website or socials that would have told me what to do, or I perhaps would have done this another night. The lady did wait a long time for them, and had ordered in advance, so be ready for a wait in busy times. We also waited a good amount of time for our food. I would rather wait personally and know it’s fresh though. The toilets are clean enough and pleasant. Handwash is full. The window sills in the pig could do with a hoover nozzle round once a week, they seemed to collect a few dead flies. All in all this is a great local pub, busy and popular with locals and holiday makers. Make sure you book, and don’t miss the roast dinner!!!

We like to visit places and randomly punch into google restaurants in the area, and the Queens Arms came up a few miles from where we were. The first time we visited, we sat in the pub garden in the sunshine in a lovely enclosed space. We both ordered the fish and chips and can thoroughly recommend them! - Piping hot, crispy batter fluffy chips and not swimming in grease. Good selection of drinks, and the staff friendly and accommodating. So much so we went back a couple of days later not realising it's best to pre book a table, so standing at the bar the staff had a look and as I was thinking we would be turned away (which if there's no room is 100% understandable) said if we could be done by a certain time we could sit down to eat. My wife had the fish and chips, again as per previous visit spot on, and I had the chicken schnitzel. Great quality, piping hot and not greasy. Made my wife's assistance dog and both of us very welcome. Will be visiting again when back in the area, recommended!

Came for the Sunday roast but ended up getting a fish and chips which was fantastic, lightly battered and fresh fish with an amazing tartar sauce. £16 Staff were very welcoming and very efficient. Only reason it ranks here was that it was quite a sticky table and cobwebs all over the windows

Great atmosphere, welcoming traditional pub. Beautiful garden and plenty of parking. Food was amazing amd staff are always friendly, polite and efficient. Great value.

We were fortunate to nab the last unreserved table of the evening, after changing plans to eat here this evening. The pub has a warm welcoming vibe, rich with the buzz of a place that people want to be in. The foot was exceptional. Hearty, runs top-notch pub-grub with a little injection of local sea produce for good measure. Everything was extremely well cooked. For a Monday, albeit in peak season, the pub was absolutely heaving and perhaps didn’t receive the complete attentiveness the team would have liked, but the servers were all very pleasant if not very very busy.

Simply Brilliant! Had the Schnitzel where even the potatoes were extremely delicious. Finished off with a Tiramisu. Very quick and friendly staff. Highly recommend!

What a wonderful pub, with plenty of character. We were advised to book for dinner, and I can see why. It was full with locals and holiday makers alike. A lovely atmosphere, it was nice just to listen to the buzz about the place. Great food and real ales. We had the chicken schnitzel and fish and chips. Served with fresh homemade sauces. We struggled to finish the tiramisu, but had to try it and weren,t disappointed. Definitely on our list when we come again.

Lovely pub and excellent food, great selection of beers etc. Probably ought to loose a star on service, despite being busy, as the desert menu wasnt offered to us, but that would be a bit churlish on an otherwise very pleasant visit !

We spent two nights B & B in Botallack at the end of May '24, and with the 'Queens Arms' being a mere 2 minute walk away, it was obvious we just had to try the place out. We had in fact visited this pub several years ago, but then it was under different ownership. It was fortunate that we had booked a table for an evening meal, because on entering the pub, the place was full! We placed an order for 'Steak & Ale Pie and 'Mussels' and both were excellent! So much so, that we decided after paying the bill, to make a repeat booking for the following night, to celebrate our Wedding Anniversary. On this occasion, the pub appeared even busier! So much so, we had to look hard to find our table, and this was only just after 6.30 in the evening. There was a real buzz about the place, and I can't speak more highly of the staff! They literally worked their socks off! The food again was excellent, and this time my wife had 'Hake' and I had a 'Steak'. Both were very tasty and cooked to perfection!. The locals here, have a damned good pub, that deservedly does well, and despite there being other pubs in the area you would have to go a long way to beat this one! Full marks then to the Queens Arms, in setting an example of what a real pub should be!

Fantastic food, setting and service. Good, interesting choice of food with options for vegetarians and vegans. Well cooked, good sized portions. Our go to place for a meal out - it never disappoints! Lovely friendly service. Good garden with pizza shack in the summer months - check for pizza opening times (also do takeaway pizza). Can get busy, so would recommend booking a table.

Friendly bartender did everything efficiently. Never get tired of being called "me lovelies". Fell in love with Arthur's Ale from Tintagel Brewery and had a good sandwich. Yum. A special spot to be sure. First time was 8 years ago, then last week. Hopefully it won't be another 8 years to visit again.

Lovely pub a short detour from the coast path, and the perfect place to wait for the bus to Penzance! Service was excellent and welcoming, and nice to see an alcohol free beer on tap.

Only there mid afternoon, but it was lovely and didn't eat.

Bottalak is a tiny village near Lands'End. What you wouldn't expect here is that there is even a pub in the middle of this small village. The atmosphere is very pleasant and the people are very friendly. The staff is very accommodating and takes care of their guests. You can also eat excellently here. There are not many dishes on the menu but it tastes really good. There are parking spaces along the street, which is a bit narrow, but still manageable. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Bottalak is a tiny village near Lands'End. What you wouldn't expect here is that there is even a pub in the middle of this small village. The atmosphere is very pleasant and the people are very friendly. The staff is very accommodating and takes care of their guests. You can also eat excellently here. There are not many dishes on the menu but it tastes really good. There is parking along the street, which is a bit narrow but still good enough.

Been here a few time when we are passing, the roast is amazing best Yorkshire pudding I've ever had as I don't eat them, the fish and chips are light and non greasy and great price for guinness also.

Went here yesterday and had an absolutely brilliant dinner. Very glad I chose this place. It was proper food and the staff were very nice too! Would definitely recommend if you are looking for a pub to have some food and drink in if you are in the area.

Have frequented this pub before on our trips to Cornwall however having not been for a couple of years there are now different owners. We have always had good food and drink and weren’t disappointed this time either. We hadn’t booked but were we shown to a table and ordered our drinks and food. We opted for the steak and ale pie with mash and tender stem broccoli the chicken schnitzel with new potatoes and slaw. Both dishes were very good and couldn’t be faulted. We also had dessert a homemade lemon cheesecake and sticky toffee pudding. Both again delicious. Washed down with a pint and a glass of pinot meant that we had a very enjoyable meal. The pub was busy with mix of locals and holiday makers. ( and numerous well behaved dogs) Highly recommended.

What a fantastic lunch we had here at Queens Arm in Botallack ! We shared the deep fried Halloumi with dip, just delicious, and followed that with the Ploughmans with gorgeous local cheese, and I had the Mushroom Wild Risotto. The food was absolutely scrumptious. The Barmaid Leah was most welcoming and efficient. The pub itself is quite large and had a choice of two log fires....very comfortable and welcoming. One of the chefs came out from the kitchen and we applauded him for the lush food. This Botallack area of Cornwall has much history. It is well worth a visit to this first-rate pub. Parking is available on site. Go- try it out!

Highly recommend it's a local pub to me and I have nothing bad to say about the place. Really reasonably priced to.

My husband and I went here for our anniversary meal. We both went for a Sunday roast. My husband had beef and I had chicken. Both meats were delicious and the cauliflower cheese was out of this world. We ordered a brownie and sticky toffee pudding for dessert and they were both 10 out of 10. Forgot to take photos as I was too busy enjoying my meal, the company and the atmosphere. I highly recommend eating here if you're in the area.

The food was good, chip portion small. Pricey.

Love the food and service here, however! I ordered the roast Chicken thinking a quarter breast at least. Disappointing as I was given ‘bits’ and a wing! If you run out say so! I would have chosen something else! Shame! Will go back though because the sticky toffee pudding was amazing!

Had the best meal tonight! From mussels to sausage n mash, prawns and a great steak! The waitress was amazing! Thank you! The only thing we agreed on was, there is no fish dish ( other than battered) would have gone for fish! Catch of the day! Be nice on the menu guys xx

My wife and I had such a lovely meal and evening here on one night of the weekend away that we returned the next evening with family members. The food was interesting, tasty, sensibly priced and the atmosphere perfect. Service was friendly and very good.

We are holidaying at Cape Cornwall for New Year 2023. Booked for lunch on NYE and had a lovely meal... fish & chips x2 followed by lemon cheesecake with berry compote and chocolate brownie. Lovely, fresh, high quality food with fast and friendly service. Pint of Tintagel Arthur's and glass of merlot. Very dog friendly too. Thoroughly enjoyable lunch. Highly recommended.

We come here regularly and the food and service are always excellent. A busy local pub which is great in summer and with a cold winter evening outside. Great for families and dog friendly. Would fully recommend to anyone in the area, but book a table as it’s always busy!

I was taken here for a festive dinner. My word it did not disappoint. I had mackerel pate, followed by Turkey with all the trimmings & finished with a chocolate terrine. The food was five star. This pub is in a league of its own. Pop in and taste for yourself, I promise you will not be disappointed.

Visited whilst staying at the nearby campsite (Trevaylor) Went twice and both times the food & service was excellent. I had a Korean buttermilk chicken burger with slaw and chips that was tasty, spicy and delicious. My wife had Goan prawn curry which had shell on prawns and was really good, her only criticism was she could have done with more. We asked about the Sunday dinner but we were told it was fully booked, however were advised to check in case they had cancellations. We popped in for a drink on the Sunday and we asked if they had a table and luckily for us someone had changed their booking I had a excellent roast beef and my wife had the nut roast which included cauliflower and broccoli cheese as a side veg. We really enjoyed the food and can understand why it was so popular. Cheerful service, great food and atmosphere and dog friendly. What more can you ask!

Booked for dinner last night as staying on the campsite up the road. Very friendly staff, dog very welcome, food was delicious and we were extremely pleased we decided to eat here as this is a lovely traditional pub serving good quality food, just how it should be 😊

We have used this pub over the 20 years that we have lived here. We have seen owners come and go, some good and some ok, now with a new fresh young team in place it has become our go to pub again. The service is quick friendly and always professional. The menu is exciting and is not afraid to try new and imaginative dishes, there is a good range on offer, along with specials. Price is very reasonable, this not just pub grub this is Queens Arms pub grub, superb. Good to see that it’s now a busy, friendly local again, and that’s all down to the hard work and effort every member of staff puts in, and for that I say thank you.

Went for dinner whilst on a visit to the area. Shared a delicious scotch egg for starter, followed by a brilliant beef burger and chips for main. The chef kindly added extra toppings to my burger which made the experience even better. The staff were very attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. Would recommend this pub to anyone, and I think you would struggle to get such good food for these very reasonable prices anywhere else.

this place is in the middle of nowhere ... roads are tricky and stick to the main ones. Nice little pub, standard pub fayre and good fish/chips.

After a trip to the Geevor mine we needed lunch, We were greeted by friendly happy staff, having our 2 little dogs with us we are always careful where we sit, this was not an issue for the pub we could sit anywhere. 2 drinks and 2 ploughman’s lunches later we were ready for the afternoon. All in was under £30 Thankyou

My husband and I visited the Queen's Arms today for Sunday lunch, and following reading recent reviews we had high expectations! When we arrived we entered into a very cosy and atmospheric bar area which was were we expected to eat, but alas, we were led through to a rather bare annexe and seated at a small table for two. Unfortunately, the room was also occupied by a number of dogs who yipped and barked throughout our meal and their owners made almost as much noise trying to quieten them. Therefore ambiance was in short supply! With regard to the food our starters (haddock scotch egg and Halloumi fries with jam) were quite delicious, however our main was a bit of a let down! I had beef and my husband had pork but both meats were slightly tough. The carrots and cabbage that accompanied them were okay but rather than the roast potato's that you expect with Sunday dinner we were given potatoes in there jackets that weren't even crisped, and this was accompanied with thin tasteless gravy. The best bit of the meal was the cauliflower and broccoli cheese which was delicious. The service was very good and the price was fair but overall our outing was a bit disappointing.

Lovely old pub with unspoilt interior. The staff are very friendly and the service is great. We had fish and chips. The batter was so light and crispy, fresh fish, homemade mushy peas and well cooked chips. An excellent plate of food. Slightly disappointed that...

Lovely Cornish pub. We were unable to get a meal from the kitchens as they were fully booked but they had a pizza shack in the garden. All pizzas were cooked fresh and were the best pizzas I have tasted. Definitely recommend.

My visit to the Queens Arms pub left me thoroughly impressed. The food was nothing short of excellent, and their mussels were a true highlight. The service was both great and friendly. The cozy ambiance added to the overall experience, making it a perfect spot for a night out. I also appreciated the availability of non-alcoholic tap beer.

As a foodie I feel compelled to leave a review after having a delicious 3 course meal and we sampled all of the cocktails! The service was fantastic and we didn’t have to wait long for orders despite it being busy. Keep doing what you’re doing!

In the summer months book to eat in this busy little pub. Went with friends and ate a nice meal. Near to St Just and Sennen. Staff friendly at this old fashioned Cornish pub.

Absolutely beautiful home cooked meal!! Steak cooked to perfection, the best large onion rings and chips !! Never tasted anything quite as nice!! The staff were very welcoming and polite. Highly recommend trying this hidden gem of as restaurant. WE EVEN WENT BACK FOR SECONDS!!!
