Oh dear.. another old Cirencester favourite on the decline. Wanted a cake with my coffee but very disappointing choice. Mince pies were shop bought and still in their metal trays. Why bother going to a cafe for one of these? Apparently they have got rid of baker to cut costs.. a move that may just cut number of customers.

This place was not very good before the new menus. Now, no choice of nice sandwiches, the soup today (garlic and bean) was awful, and the so-called salads (mainly peas) are smothered in mayo. Whynot have simpler salads with a choice of dressings, Hobbs or GI bread, and tasty well-prepared soup as well as other things?.

This cafe used to be a really thriving place; probably the best cafe in town. But most of the staff who made the place so excellent have left. The new front of house staff are now mostly very young, inexperienced, and seem to just stand around chatting loudly and laughing hysterically in plain view of the customers when not serving, clearly not taking the reputation of the cafe or their jobs very seriously. They also don't seem to know about the ingredients in their food in terms of allergies, needing to ask the kitchen staff every time a customer asks them the ingreidents in the food. I used to come in regularly, however when I go in now, I am generally disappointed with what it has become. The food, on the other hand, continues to be excellent and I cannot fault it.

I had always overlooked the Brewery Arts Cafe thinking it was just a basic add-on to the arts centre, but it's so much more. It's a fully fledged and popular bustling place serving great cakes and a good selection of coffees/teas, salads, quiches, fresh juices etc, and a good choice of options for healthy eaters. It's conveniently located right in the centre of town so an easy place to meet friends. I really enjoyed my visit and will definitely be back.

I don't normally work in Cirencester so at first was unsure where to eat, but can honestly say I was very fortunate to choose this cafe on a friend's recommendation. Despite being about half an hour early to order from the lunch menu both days I went there for lunch (they start at lunch at 11:30), they allowed me to order in advance which is something I have been denied before. All the staff seem friendly and polite, particularly a short haired young lady who provided a brilliant service in every respect and seemed to remember me the second time I came in and was very talkative which made a boring lunch hour a lot better. The food too was hearty and tasted great. Overall I would definitely recommend this place for anything, be it just a cup of coffee or a full blown meal.

Visited for lunch. Two of us ordered the wraps (Bacon, brie & cranberry and a hummus & avocado one) the third person in our party ordered a cream tea (one fruit scone, generous amount of cream and jam, which was very nice) - this was served at the time of ordering all the food, and finished long before the wraps came out. We were on the point of enquiring what had happened to our food, when we saw it come out - and be delivered to another table (in spite of everyone having an order number on their table!) luckily for us, it had no more than a cursory poke before I 'rescued' and brought it to our table. The wraps were very nice, and the salad garnish, though it had rather too many bitter leaves for my companion, so was left on the plate. One thing that I feel should be changed ASAP are the glass bottles used for tap water. The two that were out (the water jug being empty) were quite unsavoury. Another cafe that would benefit from a better method of dispensing water - and it wouldn't break the bank to sort this out straight away.

Found this on our sight seeing trip to Cirencester. The salad was good and beautifully served. The soup came with half a sandwich. I have NEVER seen such a large doorstep of a sandwich. On couple had to return luke warm soup but this was dealt with unapologetically. My broccoli soup had a strange unwelcome taste with blobs of cold Brie and soggy croutons dropped into it. There were small stale or dried up scones served with the soup along with a doorstep indigestible and soggy sandwich - hard cold bacon and liquid dressing combined with wet salad. Oh dear! Having frequented the cafe at Brewery Arts Centre for several years, today I was hugely disappointed. Having ordered our food, I was charged for one rather than two lunches. Being honest (!) I returned to the counter and pointed out the error. C'est la vie - we all make mistakes I thought to myself. The food - two bacon, Brie and cranberry sauce ciabattas (a lunch I've had frequently before - was brought to our table by a young girl ..... pleasantly but without the usual offer to bring anything else we may require. The biggest disappointment was actually eating (and having to chew!) the ciabatta. It was more like a dry heavy white bread roll. Before we left, I went back to the counter and asked one of the girls if the ciabattas were madeon the premises or brought in from a supplier. She informed me of the name of their supplier but, when I expressed my disappointment, she had no comment to make. My experience today was so different to previous occasions. I felt the staff were poorly trained and the standard of food had dropped from excellent to poor.It will be a while before I return to the Arts Centre Cafe.

We had an excellent lunch here at the weekend so we returned with friends to introduce them to the wonderful cafe we thought we had found. No such luck. The tables were dirty and most had the remnants of previous meals. We cleared our own table and went to the counter to order. The barista/chef/order guy was busy chatting to his friends so I turned to the young lady behind the cake counter- shrug shoulders, clearly not her job. Finally, his friends left but so did barista boy. I asked if I could place an order but he looked at me as if such things were beneath him. So, with no one behind the counter, and no one serving in the cafe, we left and went across the courtyard to the wonderful little cafe in Waterstones, which I strongly recommend. What a shame that this place with such potential is left in the hands of kids who are just playing at shop.

The food at Brewery Arts is excitingly original and extremely appetising. I can't fault it after many, many visits, especially for the 'big salad' with a warm cheese scone - the highlight of my day (usually Saturday) after a morning's horse coping. All the food tastes and looks genuinely fresh and is prepared, to individual order, with a lot of imagination by the creative cooks in the Brewery Arts own kitchen. What are you waiting for....!

We have visited the cafe many times over the years, and can always be assured of a good cup of coffee - with so many establishments this is very hit and miss.. As a vegetarian, I often have the salad selection for lunch, which is usually very tasty and has interesting ingredients. Not sure what happened last time (first visit since new menu selection), but the salad was rather ordinary and boring, the addition of a cheese scone which was rather dry didn't help. I then noticed on the board that new 'superfood' salads are on the menu, at a price.. perhaps this is where my usual salad selection has ended up! Even the soup was not as nice as usual. Hoping this is just a temporary glitch. Giving 4 stars in recognition of previous visits.

But to our suprise it was very quiet..it's obligatory to visit to the cafe,oh dear..no one in the cafe sat down, tables need clearing from previous diners! Not a great start..but there are two young people chatting at the counter seems we were invisible!..after they finished thier conversation were able to order, during the making of our order The chat starts again while one youngster does it all..the tables remain uncleared! We decide to sit down Finally after hearing the social life..there is no one else in the cafe...the young Girl picks up a drinks bottle and now drinking from it in full view of us and the cafe whilst texting behind the counter whilst chatting unbelievable.still those cluttered tables need clearing and cleaning..then they both disappear to the kitchen, another customer comes in stands at counter waiting and waiting..leans over the counter, its now more than an unacceptable time not to be served..eventually one returns...we have finished with our drinks, our table now looks very cluttered piled high with used plates soup bowls cups etc.. We're now adding to it with our cups too. My first impression..needs to be trained in customer care.someone drinking from a bottle behind the counter whilst texting in front of customers isn't classy or appropriate..I agree it was very quiet but not acceptable.the assistants need to remember they represent the cafe..won't return.

We often lunch here. Soup and sandwich which are tasty and freshly prepared. It would be good if the range of sandwiches could be increased. Ham, pate, egg mayo etc

We have been coming to the Brewery Arts cafe for years and have never had a bad experience. The staff are friendly, surroundings are lovely and the cheese scones are to die for! Free wifi too which is handy.

We arrived for coffee and cheese scones (top marks!), then visited the Gallery, bought pretty items in the shop and came back to the Cafe for a delicious lunch of Brie and Cranberry Wraps served with salad. Loads of choice on the menu including homemade soups.

Lovely atmosphere in buzzing, arty location. Always a really good selection of healthy veggie/ naughty dishes. Soup good value although a little under seasoned at times. Coffee pleasant, service fast and friendly. Beer disappointed.

This was out first time to Cirencester we wanted to explore new parts of Glos. The art and exhibitions in the arts centre were so diverse. The cafe is lovely with really good service even near closing the staff had a smile. Tea and cake and art is a perfect combination!

Pleasant ambiance, upstairs in the Brewery Arts Centre. Great meeting place, with a variety of seating options. We all enjoyed our range of lunch dishes, (adults and small children), and will return soon.

I love this place but whenever I visit on a Saturday I have to wait ages for my good. It's so disappointing when you have to guzzle down your food after having waited 40 minutes for it because car parking ticket is about to run out. Maybe I am just unlucky as other people seem to get their food quicker. I would have much preferred to complain at the time but there did not appear to be a manager about on Saturday.

If you want a pleasant change from the well-known coffee 'chains' - and want to support The Brewery Arts at the same time - then look no further. There is a good selection of food and drinks; from delicious toast and home made tasting marmalade through proper salads and not mass produced sandwiches. The selection of coffee uses good quality beans too.Best for summer mornings when you can sit out in the sun and watch the world go by!

Very convenient if you are visiting the town as it is near one of the car parks and close to the town centre. It wasn't too crowded when we visited and we enjoyed the cakes and homemade shortbreads and a good cup of coffee. Friendly staff and pleasant atmosphere.

Stumbled across this café whilst having a ramble around Cirencester. We had a pot of tea to share and two of the largest pieces of coffee-and-walnut cake I've seen in my life, which was delicious. If I had any criticism it would be that the cake had too many large chunks of walnut in it!

This is a really welcome, beautifully renovated addition to the area. A warm and friendly local with stone walls and open fires. Food is very good, modern pub style at a very reasonable price for The Cotswolds. Staff are very friendly and efficient and the clientele are a great combination of locals at the bar, people eating and walkers, cyclists etc calling in for a pint. Been several times since it reopened and all have been good.

Served a Biarra Moretti, didn’t look right, went back to the bar to complain, was told there was nothing wrong with the pint and no chance of changing. Batman very rude.
