The Meadows is outstanding. We stopped for just a coffee but fuelled up on their irresistable cakes as well. They have a great selection of gluten free food and the welcome was warm and friendly. Highly recommended.

Due to major stomach surgery I usually have children's portions which was fine when I asked for children's breakfast which included sausage, bacon, egg and beans but also due to op I can't eat bacon so asked if I could swap bacon for a couple of mushrooms (which they have on adult breakfast) but I was told not possible. I could buy mushrooms as extra but not swap. I just felt what a waste as I can't eat the bacon.

As others have said, something's changed here, maybe it was COVID but we've visited this place so many times, every time we're in the area and it's always been great. This time the menu has shrunk, it's more expensive and the food was nothing special. No more omelettes either, always my food staple. The milkshake was about £3 I think but the top 2 inches were froth and it wasn't even that big a glass. Very disappointing compared to how good it's always been in the past.

We’ve visited this place every year for the past 6 years. Every time we visit the area, we come here. It’s always been a good spot for lunch. I’m not sure if it’s changed owners or staff, but the last visit was a disappointment. The food was OK, but nothing special. There was a lack of choice this time and everything seemed bland. The whole feeling of the place was gloomy and the staff weren’t their friendly smiley selves either. Probably won’t be coming back after this one.

We visited several times during our stay on the Lizard, it's easy to assume that there is just a chocolate factory here as there is little mention of the cafe in the ads. We've had tea several times and can thoroughly recommend the cakes having personally eaten the lemon loaf and the chocolate and cherry flapjacks . Also, you can't beat the hot chocolate at the end of a blustery walk on the coast path.

Coffee good but expensive at £2.75 per cup. At 10.15am asked for a toasted tea cake but waitress said they could not get them. Asked for toast and the waitress said they could not get bread delivered. This is bad management as the Co-Op is a couple of minutes up the road, they get deliveries and surely MMeadows could have bought a couple of loaves from them. I ended up with a scone which I wouldn’t normally eat for breakfast. The next day I went to the Milk Barn up the road for ….. toast and coffee at £2.25…..

We came for tea and then later, after a walk, for lunch. Both visits were excellent - a very tasty scone and tea accompanied by two small tablets of the on-site chocolate (excellent!), and later a beautiful, well-filled tuna mayo baguette with an additional side salad. Friendly and polite service. We were so impressed we repeated the double visit the next day and were not disappointed.

I have been here several times in the last 18 months. The food I have ordered has been good every time. The menu changes a bit every so often. They provide small bits of chocolate with hot drinks. The chocolate comes from the neighbouring chocolate factory. Coffees are very good. Fair prices. It is Mullion so it is rather out of the way. Phone reception is very limited so "live updates" are not likely. The entire complex is worth a visit and the food outlet is of a standard that is commensurate with the other commercial enterprises on site. We will be back.

Came for a late lunch and it was superb. Wife had a cheese and mushroom omelette and it was packed full of mushrooms and came with chips or a salad - she had salad which was excellent. I had a jacket with chicken curry with a side of coleslaw. Good portion size except for the coleslaw which came in a tiny pot and at £1 was either overpriced or under delivered - tasted great though. 2 Americanos with it and a bill of £25 - slightly expensive but darned good food.A bonus is that dogs are allowed and even a pet treat for them.

The food is still as good as it has always been and we have found the service very good. I can recommend the pork and apple burger, made with local pork, the crispy baguettes are just soooo crispy and always have generous fillings. Even when I was feeling full, I had to eat it all because it was so yummy! Even the soups are delicious. If you can still move after eating all this, a walk down to Mullion Cove is recommended.

Visited the chocolate factory yesterday and stopped in the cafe for lunch, I would have liked the quiche which was on the menu twice but was told that 'we don't do quiche anymore'. So we bought a mushroom omelette with chips and Mediterranean vegetable with mozzarella and cheddar panini, with a combined cost of £17 I was expecting good food. Unfortunately the panini was soggy and bland, I thought the veggies had probably been frozen, the omelette was dry and tasteless, again we thought the omelette had probably been bought in frozen and reheated. I would recommend if you are visiting the Chocolate Factory that you eat elsewhere.

This is a great place to go. A chocolate factory. A shop next door selling the products. And a good cafe/restaurant. The chocolate is wonderful, and almost everything is made in white milk and plain. There is also some 71% plain. The Easter egg and bunny collection is especially worthwhile. A pity it is described as "Mullion Meadows". It might be the address but it does not convey what an attraction it is. Leave Mullion on the road to the harbour, pass the cricket ground, and it is on the right in the middle of a left bend.

I visited Mullion Meadows on Sunday 17 Sept. with my extended family of 7 adults and 3 children. My wife and I decided on a cream tea. It was one of the best we have ever experienced and I have sampled a few in my 75 years! The fruit scones were out of this world, the jam and cream were of generous proportions and the pot of tea was as I like it ,really hot! I enjoyed myself so much I was moved to seek out a young lady behind the counter and express my feelings! If we didn't live so far away (Saltash/Plymouth) I'm sure we would visit every week!

We've eaten here quite a few times over the years as we often stay nearby. However, unfortunately on this occasion it was a letdown. We both had omelettes and chips but the chips were overdone and the omelettes too. The omelettes were more like a pancake than a omelette and normally they've been so good here. It looks like they have expanded slightly and I wonder if the owners have changed. It's a nice environment but the food let it down on this occasion. We'll give it another go I'm sure when we're down there again in the Summer because it has always been so good before. Hopefully we were just unlucky on this visit.

Enjoyed looking around the outlets especially the art workshop and went then for ice cream, drinks in cafe. We stood around at counter waiting to order but were ignored by at least 4 staff. In the end I asked if one ordered at the counter or sat at a table to be served. The assistant I asked was very brusque and said we were to order at counter and turned around and carried on with what she was doing. Eventually we got a drink and a couple of tubs of ice cream which were disappointing as one ice-cream in particular was just a lot of small hard pieces. Im afraid I wouldn't be recommending or returning, I found it very unwelcoming and that we were just a pain to them, although we were polite at all times.Left there and had an excellent hot chocolate in wonderful surroundings with great service with a smile at the Mullion Hotel at not much more of a cost, well worth it.

After a 5 1/2 hour drive to Cornwall we were desperate for a decent cuppa tea and a light lunch - which is exactly what we got! The cafe is small but friendly, accepts dogs (which was handy as we arrived in torrential rain and didn't fancy sitting outside), and serves a typical array of sandwiches, baked 'tattys', breakfasts and home cooked cakes. The service was good, the food was of a good quality and didn't take too long to arrive, and the cost was reflective of the quality of food - not cheap but not expensive. Recommended to anyone at the end of a long journey or day walking the cliffs who is looking for a decent cup of tea and some fresh, honest food!

This is a great little place attached to the Trenance Chocolate Factory which was of course the main reason for our visit. Free parking is available on site with the Tea Room accessed through wide double doors. The café is light and airy with plenty of tables and space to move around, with a good selection of gluten free treats. Various flapjacks were available by the till covered in as you would expect, Trenance chocolate. We though plumped for the Lemon Drizzle Cake, which is always a treat, with a pot of tea for two. Yes, some more savoury options for those who are gluten free would ne nice, but it was not what we came here for on this particular occasion, so we had no complaints. The tea and cake were both very nice and reasonable value for money. The service was speedy, friendly and efficient so no complaints there either.

I have read with interest the other reviews of Mullion Meadows and am impressed ... so perhaps we visited on a bad day. The scones were without doubt the worst ever encountered and the service was disinterested.

We always eat a lunchtime snack in here when we are in the area and this visit was no different. It's not the cheapest place I've ever eaten but the quality is very good. I love the omelettes here and they also do some great varieties of homemade soups. If you're looking for a light lunch or quick bite then you could do a lot worse.

The café here has a very good choice of food and is quite reasonably priced. They have a lot of outside seating, but when it rained we were allowed to take our little dog inside with us. The staff are cheerful and pleasant and I would definitely recommend their lovely milkshakes.

This was a return visit after several years. The whole complex is so much better, with all the units in use with lots of interesting bits and pieces. The restaurant is also bigger. We had a jacket potato / cream tea, both were very nice and tasty. Good friendly service from the staff.

This venue, just outside Mullion village is one of the best places to get a traditional Cream Tea. To die for. Cafe also allows dogs in the restaurant as long as they're well behaved. All food and drinks prepared o the highest standard. Please take time to visit the chocolate factory and artists studios there too. A nice place to while away a hour or so.

Stopped in for a coffee, had a look around the shops, walked to the cove ( beautiful and unspoilt) then back to the cafe for lunch as we had already sized up the menu. They had fresh, locally caught crab on the menu, we both opted for crab sandwiches, they were stuffed full of white tasty crab meat, bread was very fresh, and came with a sizeable salad garnish, couldnt fault it. Only problem was the cake display..do not go in if you are on a diet, very very tempting!! You could see they were home made, I asked for a chocolate brownie, my friend, carrot cake, we both received enormous squares, we would have been please at half the size for what we were paying. They were delicious. Prices reasonable, portions reasonable, varied menu, friendly staff, clean, what more could one ask for? Will definitely return when down on the Lizard, well worth making a small detour just for the cafe.Bonus, you get a free sample of the Trenance chocolate with each order, very nice it is too.

We Sat outside in the sunshine with our dogs and enjoyed a really nice breakfast. Clean water bowls out for them and plenty of benches and seating overlooking the countryside Shame we only ate at this cafe the morning we went home as the brekkie we had was delicious.

I have to admit that I am not the person that comments on anything and everything, nor do I ever right a review of my experience. If I am unsatisfied with the experience, I just won't return again. But ... I have been seeing the Development of this establishment for that past 20 years and treated myself quite often to a night or two in any of the corner or best suites ( highly recommend those ) and enjoyed the ambiance and service this hotel had to offer. Our experience: Arrival to the hotel : We planned to have drinks prior to our meal. Found the bar area as busy as usual. With no free seats in sight, I ask the Brasserie manager if we could order drinks in the main lounge, whereas we been told that there normally is service but he has no clue what they doing today. Not answer I was hoping for. The entrance to the main lounge also been blocked off for some reason. Luckily the wait at bar was sufficient enough to pass the time for a table to become vacant. In previous visits, a relaxed table service was offered but not this time for some reason . Guess it’s an informal 5 star service.. , had to ask for bar menus as neither been on the bar or tables to see what’s on offer. ( also no usual complimentary nuts that used to be offered ) Restaurant We arrived early to our Booking at the samphire and were delighted to be able to be seated, unfortunately without any menus. It took about 10-15 min of us staring holes into the warm air, when I lost my patients and had to get up from the table to ask for menus at the entrance of the Restaurant. Yet again it took quite a while for us to order drinks and food as it seemed to be a chaotic service with everyone doing everything and no restaurant Manager nor head waiter in sight ( please note.. all evening ) . The lack of attention to detail was incredible .. table settings with knives to left and forks to right on every table .. just wow - giggle Food and drinks order done. ( ordered a glass of white wine with my mains, which never arrived ).. Drinks arrived what seamed ages. Overheard table next to us complaining about the slow service too, which been given a small apology but no solution to increase the speed of service ( yet again a lack of management ) Noticed the young waiter being unfamiliar on how to correctly present a bottle of wine and opening it, which I thought should be a training standard for a 5 star establishment. not only did he seem untrained, he also dried his hands in a used napkin left on the table next to him where diners just left. The pork belly starter , was below luke warm which was shame as its been rather tasty. I guess if a portion of this size is sitting on a kitchen pass for mere 3 min, it naturally will loose its core temperature, suggestion.. Next time use a cloche! I wanted to point this out to the service but yet again no manager or headwaiter to be seen and the waiters seem too busy to be bothered. Once they did ask if everything is alright, but by that time we finished what we had on the plate ( which is not a lot if you are hungry ) Unfortunately the main course of the hen and the monk fish not been any better and yet again being luke warm. Dessert of the frangipane tart and pineapple been ok, but yet again no attention to detail, as the dessert been bought out without cutlery being replenished prior. Ordered coffee to be served in the lounge, which arrived with no sugar or spoon and had to be asked for separately. When I paid my bill, I mentioned that the wine I ordered with my main course never arrived. No apology was offered.. A "informal fine Dining " experience. 95% informal - 5 % fine Dining. :-( Over the past 20 years I always chose the Headland hotel for its perfection, attention to detail and impeccable service, this time it's not delivered to its promise which is a shame cause that's what I will remember.. Coming from a 4 to a 5 star .. I expected more ( go back to 4 stars !!! You been better then

I will start by saying the restaurant did reduce our bill and throw in a few free extras but we were very surprised by the quality and portioning of the food. At the time the cafe was very quiet but the staff seemed a little bit chaotic. Orders not being put through properly, items missed off and not knowing what beer they had available. A couple of us ordered the chicken burger (£13) and my son had the kids version (£8.50) but his came with chips. I was pretty shocked when we both received exactly the same sized portion. A small bun, 1/2 a small chicken fillet and one piece of lettuce, not exactly worth £13. The staff did even comment that they there was an issue but still felt it was fine to serve and just expect people to pay. The pizzas were but ok but again surprised when we we charged £3 for 2-3 sliced olives as an extra. We've eaten at many other places up and down the coast and based on our experience we would not return.
