Came here with my brother Both had a fish each and shared a portion of chips Great portions with the food cooked to order. The service was great, only the 5 minute wait for the fish to be cooked but completely worth it Would recommend

What an experience! We relived a childhood trip and travelled down with the missus’ grandparents to Brean/ Burnham-on-Sea for a week away, tear to my eye. One occasion that made this excursion even more special was Superchips. Surprisingly, it wasn’t the chips that would gain the title ‘super’, they were good, but for me, chips are chips. No, it was the fish that blew my frock up! I’ve been about, I’ve studied the sea life of the British Isles but these lads have quite clearly studied it more. Beautiful golden brown batter encasing dense, flaky flesh of the cod (it could’ve been haddock, either way it was four times lush!). Service was excellent. Had a lovely chat with a young chap about the local area and places to visit. The conversation was welcomed as fish was made-to-order = fresh! - one particularly nice touch was the offer to salt & vinegar our meals or to do it ourselves, not often we get that up north! Where price is concerned. I cannot remember the final cost for multiple meals, but I don’t remember having a stink-on about the final bill, so it must have been reasonable. Overall, impressive little venue on the high street and would recommend to any visitors. Fish fish fish and chips!

Went recently with family, nice chunky bit of cod, decent chips as well. Kids had the 'lockdown' special, no lies about this 'lockdown' £6 special, 8 pieces of battered fish and chips, proper deal there,will be back next time we're in Burnham. £7 for the cod was worth it, recommended. Cash only establishment, stick with cash folks, once it's gone, it's gone. No need for card only, its a cost to all.

Called in at lunchtime and ordered the mini fish and chips. As it was quiet they cooked them fresh which took about 10mins. When they arrived they were just the right size for us pensioners. Beautiful chips, crisp on the outside, soft in the middle, the fish was exceptional, completely white with light batter. The price was £6 each, great value for money

Large, tasty portions of haddock and chips! Friendly staff. Lots of choice for fish, freshly cooked chips were fluffy and not greasy, we will visit again.

Ordered two fish and one large chips with fish cake and chips and the portion sizes were good and the price very good. Fishcake was crispy, this was the same for the fish, very nice! Staff were very friendly and loved that they were playing a high school musical CD 😆. The only downside was that we didn't know we had to put our own salt and vinegar on our food, would've been good to know before leaving. Would definitely come again !

Bang on chip shop, I’ve tried the battered fryer, and star fish bar in town, and this knocks em out the park, great deals, cheaper than the rest and the best . Lovely fish & chips

Had 3 portions of chips today and would have to say poor. A lot of the chips were black or bruised and given it was lunchtime you’d expect fresh AND warm food.

We have tried many takeaways in Brean and burnham, but this is by far the best cod and chips we have had. Definitely worth the drive.

The best fish and chips we have found from south Glos to Cornwall! We always have the mini cod and chips and find that for us it’s plenty! When we fancy a chippy lunch SUPERCHIPS has to be our destination of choice. A friendly welcome is guaranteed just take cash - no biggie! Try for yourselves! Enjoy!

As we only live in WSM we often pop down to Burnham for a walk along the seafront. Today we decided to have a bag of chips and noticed this Chippie near where we had parked the car. The chips were cooked freshly and OMG such a large portion, especially as I’d only ordered the small portion, they weren’t the cheapest chips I’ve had but considering the way prices are going up, they were definitely good value for money.

Went today for 2 large fish and chips cooked to order lovely friendly staff cannot do enough for you They were scrumptious better fish than we get in West Midlands Every time we come on holiday to Burnham on sea we go to superchips for our fish and chips as our special holiday treat

had a mini cod and chips meal for lunch, only cost £4.50 and on this high street finding hot food to take out quick and easy is hard, staff were helpful aswell. small shop, dont take card so bring cash.

I came here with my 2 sons, they have a great variety of kids meals as well as food for adults. the portion sizes are very generous and the food is scrumptious will be back again

if there was a a higher score i would give it to them they have been open for as long as i can remember. i always go here. great value for money

We were amazed at the huge portions of fish and chips! The pieces of cod were enormous done in perfect crispy batter, and each portion of chips enough for two people! Of course I brought some home for next day's dinner. Prices are very reasonable, the staff friendly and helpful. What more could you want. We'll definitely be back!

The best fish & chip shop I've been to, not in the area much, but always a must go when I'm in the west of England. Perfect crisp to both the fish and the chips, service is always great and friendly. Quick and efficient with great pricing! portions are always generous, a must go to when in the area, and often miss it when I am back in London.

Been coming here for a while now and I must say they have never disappointed. Struggle to find the right curry sauce with the fruit inside which is a WIN! Nice tasty crunchy batter on the fish as well! This place will always be my local!

Went here on Monday of this week to get fish and chips with my young son. Haven’t been here in a while as before I’ve had bad service and they only take cash but it was the only chip shop open so decided to try again. Lady serving was lovely and gravy nice and thick but I took the fish off of the chips and found a pubic hair!! Not joking it was absolutely disgusting!! My son went to eat the chips then which was bad as I had to discard them. Couldn’t take them back as by the time I had opened them and let them cool down we were down by the pier and was not trapsing back with my 1 year old in the opposite direction of where I’d parked. Absolutely vile next time if nothing is open I will just avoid!

I had cod and chips. All batter hardly any fish think it was cut with a razor. Hubby had fish cake and chips. Fishcake looked like it had been there all day. Chips appeared as though they had been fried over and over again. And just to top it off the lady who served us looked like she had been sucking a lemon. Right misery. Won't be returning.

Terrible service, have been to this place before but service has definitely gone downhill. They don’t take card (I’m sorry but who doesn’t take care these days, probably so they don’t have to put it through the books) when I asked the staff were really rude and didn’t even speak to me when I first walked in they were all just talking amongst themselves whilst I waited to be served by them. Will definitely not recommend and never return here due to the rudeness. Just lost a loyal customer. Tried Brit chips instead who have now won our custom

Love this place,Used it for ages. Staff are friendly and service is great, chips are yummy and not re-fried like some chip shops in burnham. Portions are huge, even the minis are enough for me.

Having seen previous good reviews, we were expecting more than we unfortunately got. The portion was huge, too big for one person. The fish was okay but the batter was really thick and stodgy. Too much skin and batter and not enough fish sums it up. Chips were nice but all in all, not as good as we'd hoped.

We were very hungry and it was the only place open on a Sunday. Having tried them we wished we'd stayed hungry! Soggy chips stuck together in gluttonous fat, vile (and expensive) fish that just didn't taste nice at all. They should read this and review their sourcing of produce and cooking skills. It's not difficult.

Often pop in for a quick bite to eat, Staff are friendly, fast at serving, portions are good size and plenty of food choices to be had..Put own salt n vinegar on and away you go.. Food is always top quality.. never fails to please

food was piping hot and very tasty, quite busy and although we waited for the fish to be cooked it was so fresh it fell apart, great value for money, we waited about 5 mins in total, staff were lovely and friendly will pay another visit next year on annual girls holiday. Mini fish and chips was more like a large it was delicious

We go here quite often for chips. The fish is always lovely., the chips are very tasty. We have never had any reason to complain. The kids meals are enough for our 6 and 9 year old. Would recommend

i was for a number of years a resident of the seaside town up the road from Burnham and looked forward to the 5-6 times a year we would treat ourselves to the "Best chippy" in the area - this one. I left 3 years ago and returned today and with eager anticipation I went in....The staff were clearly bored! I asked for fish and chips and was served with one that was already in the "heater" thing that I was stood by....BAD MOVE SUPERCHIPS...The chips were stale, cold and tasteless...the fish - cold and if this is the way these folk in 2018 are treating visitors to B-o-S, then there are other establishment servicing the same type of food...£5.80 for cod and chips which are cold is simply ROBBERY and this is NOT an experience you want whilst on holiday...as I currently am...

We chose chicken and chips and haddock and chips. The chips were average and had been kept warm so were not hot. Haddock and chicken were cooked fresh. No complaints about the haddock but omg the worst chicken I have ever had the misfortune of ordering from a chip shop! The drumstick part looked like it was half eaten, the thigh part tasted so awful I could not eat it. Service could of done with a smile or thank you or something a little polite. Will not be going back.

Our first stop on reaching Burnham on our family holiday from London has traditionally been to Superchips for a mini cod and chips to start our holiday.So far for all the years we hav visited we have not been disappointed.The fish and chips have always been freshly cooked and very enjoyable.

Been a tradition if we come to Burnham we go and get chips from here. Always fresh, cheap, warm, tasty and happy lovely staff

I have never quite had Fish and Chips like this in my life disgusting they were it was like tipping a bowl of fat onto your plate.The chips were awful the Fish was in some sort of batter that was totally inedible ,I like Fish and Chips but would never go here again.Maybe i went on the wrong night as i have read some reviews on here saying goods things but sorry not for me

Over heard a couple of locals saying super chips were the best in burnham and already trying most chip shop thought we would try it, turned up on Friday night at 7pm started well as had to wait for fish to be cooked. The batter was the worst I have had not crisp hardly stuck to the fish the chips were soggy and under cooked so still can’t find a good chippy in burnham

We always go here whenever we are anywhere near and don't need much of an excuse! Portion sizes are huge and quality is always excellent. Excellent fish and chips - don't really need to say any more than that!!

We tried here and two fish and chips it came in 4 trays the fish was huge and plenty of chips as well it came to £11.60 but was worth every penny

Whenever my family and I travel to Burnham-on-Sea from London our first stop is for a lunch of Superchips minicod and chips. It is always fresh and hot and great to enjoy in our first taste of sea air.

Called in here a few times throughout the summer as they offer a mini cod and chips for a really cheap price. This is a great lunchtime offering and tastes fab too. Staff could be a little happier though.

Trying a lot of different fish and chip shops in burnham on sea I have personally found that super chips is the best by far.They have a great menu catering for small portions aswell as they do mini sizes such as mini fish and chips, mini sausage and chips etc.. I love the their cheesy chips as they are very generous with their portions and it always fills you up! The gravy you have to try as well as it tastes like proper chop shop gravy which is very hard to get these days at a modern chip shop. I also like the fact you can put your own salt and vinegar on! Definitely worth a visit next time you're on holiday here :)

We had already read the reviews on TA, and had decided that it would be our Friday night meal. We couldn't wait though and decided to have some for lunch.The ladies were extremely friendly, the chips with scraps (batter bits) were delicious.Definitely going there for our Friday night Dinner.

This is not a restaurant! Many portions in takeaway chip shops are far too big for one person. What I like about this chipy is they do a mini portion! Absolutely the right size in terms of the fish and the chips. Instead of sharing with my husband I get one all to myself! . The chips are great, not greasy, and the fish is beautifully cooked. We take our dog for a walk on Burnham front and always have fish and chips afterwards - what could be better!

We had a very nice fish and chips from here early evening. This was take away. Fish was beautiful nice golden batter which was crispy. Chips were very nice not greasy. Enjoyed by all.

We had the mini fish and chips which was a perfect size for lunch. Tasty chip, the batter was a little soggy but i think just because it had been sat in the polystyrene box a bit too long while we walked with them to find somewhere to sit. Just hit the right spot though!

Having fancied chicken & chips thought nothing could be easier, walked in to place my chicken & chips order, only to be told, sorry out of chicken tonight!Think in this day & age, there isn't any real reason anywhere should run out, very poor, another place lost my custom

Lovely fresh chips, mini chips is just £1 which was a nice sized serving.It gets very busy in here and can be a bit cramped especially around the the salt and vinegar area but not a problem. Food hygiene rating of 5 and friendly staff too.

Fish and chips - it was a little pricey until you seen the portion, but omg, absolutely gorgeous and huge. Two very hungry people soon became two very satisfied people.

I come in here for a portion of mini Chips quite often and they are lovely, very freshly cooked and only £1 although I remember when they were £0.60!

Although you can eat in, there are no frills, as there are no plates, just a plastic tray or polystyrene tray. The fish and chips are very good generally, with nice thin crispy batter, although you do pay for it, as it is more expensive than elsewhere. Don't order a cup of tea though, it tastes terrible and is served in a small cup with lukewarm water and a teabag in it - all for the price of £1.70 which we thought was excessive. Would expect a small pot of decent tea for that price!

The chips were almost white soggy and some still hard in the middle. We put them in our deep fat fryer after getting home and after cooking them properly they were quite nice but really defeated the purpose of getting a take away if you have to cook it yourself. The fish was swimming in fat and disgusting we just threw it away Had not so good fish and chips from here before and thought we would give them another chance but will never go there again

Young girl that did our oder was cheery nice and efficient. Her sidekick wasn't up for smiling. Fish and chips were excellent. Fresh expertly cooked. We thoroughly enjoyed it. We will be back. Will be working on the sidekick to see if she smiles.

Stopped by this chip shop, to grab something to eat after a long day out and a 130 mile return drive in front of us.We had large cod and chips, which were very reasonably priced and tasted excellent. They were very generous sized portions too, so very good value. The fish had a crispy golden batter and the chips cooked to perfection.Only downside is the self serve salt and vinegar table, which might be a great idea in practise, but a pain is someone is dawdling about whilst others chips are going cold, as well as the fact you have a table drenched in vinegar and salt by those with a poor aim.Would certainly patronise this place again, when we are in Burnham next. Friendly staff, reasonable prices and good food are always a winning combination.

This is a very good fish and chip shop but my only negative comment would be... No saveloy sausages " expect for a weekend day" as we were told by the young lady behind the counter, ???????? Don't really understand the reason for not having a product on a weekday, great idea with the salt and vinegar! i hate it when chip shops dont put enough salt and vinegar on your chips ! The answer !.... Get the customer to do it them selves, Great idea!

We have been coming here for several years now and they never disappoint! Super fish and chips, mini portions available also that are just right for a lunch or small eater Take away chips at £1, you can't beat it. Clean, fully stocked with sauces, drinks etc and friendly helpful staff. Some parking opposite and in side roads or there is a car park by the sea front not to far away. Guess where we are going next time we are in Burnham-on-Sea.

Just returned from another weekend in Burnham, brought to a close by our traditional fish and chip supper. Service as great as ever, and the cod is just as tasty. Still good portions, and the mini cod and chips at £2.80 is great value for our girls. See you again soon I hope!

Small shop serving excellent fish and chips. I live fairly local and make the effort to use this shop rather than my local one.Lovely crisp chips and not greasy. They also do a variety of mini meals for children and the elderly. Good price.

Last Sunday we were in Burnham we hadn't realised it was firework display night, being the Sunday before the carnival! Everywhere to eat was heaving so we decided simply to have fish and chips. My wife is Glutten intolerant which causes a problem with food with batter on it! The staff were lovely and offered to cook her some chicken with no coating. They apologised quite a few times for the ten minutes or so it took to cook! Considering this must be one of their busiest nights of the year the food was very good, the fish I had was cooked to perfection and it was really good value for money. My wife enjoyed her meal as well. Fish and chips seemed to be the right thing to ave that evening, the fireworks weren’t bad either!

We bought fish and chips from super chips last Saturday and it didn't disappoint. The fish was very large but because it was so nice I ate it all.

Was running late and decided to go for the chip butty to eat on the run. Fantastic value (at less than a cup of coffee), fresh bap and lovely hot crispy chips.Staff very pleasant and efficient. Take away only - but we do have a lovely beach to eat at :)

I had read other reports about this establishment but it looked the best on our day visit. We had two fish and a portion of chips, which were plentiful freshly cooked (yes we did have to wait) and we were well satisfied with the food and the friendly staff. There was queue when we left to eat our food on the sea front wall, so I think that speaks for itself. Recommend by us

Have had mini chips here and they are lovely, my only gripe is that over the years the prices have certainly gone up. I remember when a mini Chips was 70p!!

Average chip shop to be honest - not as good as previous visits. Fish not the best quality - chips ok.

Lovely fresh food. Excellent value. The fish was just the right size and the chips we cooked perfectly.

After researching a good place to have authentic English fish and chips, we decided on this place on our way from Dartmoor area back to Bristol. The portion was very large and just sopping in grease. It was really impossible to judge the quality/taste of the chips because they were at the bottom of the container drenched/swimming in a pool of grease and the although the fish was flaky and quite nice, it had a thick coating that again was just too greasy for me. We did however have a wonderful setting to eat our meal by walking from this shop to the nearby beach area to picnic. Watching people fly kites and play cricket was fun! and the seagulls had a good feed of the food we couldn't eat. Maybe other menu items and a smaller portion/order would have helped our experience.

Been here many times over the years, on all days of the week, throughout the year. Staff always very friendly, service usually quick (no one is fast on a summer Saturday), fish fresh and chips crisp on outside/soft on inside. Normal portions are great value, but possibly too big? Mini portions hence great for most occasions for adults, but especially good for kids and OAP's. The only thing that would improve this place would be if it were sat on a dockside with sea views - it isn't, but its food is as good as it was

Returned here for some fish and chips on our latest visit. Excellent fish and chips with generous portions and overall good value.Very good mini portions too at around half price - we had 2 mini fish and chips for our daughters and the fish portions were very good.Service was very quick too - many thanks. Will always return here on future visits.

this chippy always provides fresh chips unlike so many other that pre-cook their chips . i would recommend chips and (thick) gravy and also chips and curry sauce.

The mini fish and chips is £2.60 and excellent. Cooked freshly and very good chips. Excellent speedy staff and very clean. The gravy is a little thick but the curry sauce is tasty and spicy. Our regular treat :)

The staff are rude and don't understand simple orders. One staff member was chewing gum whilst serving and well that was that it made me feel quite sick. The chips and gravy were nice but we won't be visiting again .

We visited frydays for tea with our children, we chose to eat in, very clean, and friendly with a good traditional range of meals. Great value for money, we waited approx 15 mins but it was worth every second as everything is cooked to order! I can honestly say they were the best chips Iv tasted for along time.. We will be back for more!!

We have used this outlet many times but last month the fish was disgusting batter was uncooked chips were lifeless but thought everyone is allowed a bad day not had a complaint before TODAY we tried again the fish could not be cut and the chips were cold and were more like scraps even the dog turned nose up telephone number for complaints not known as 01278785955 wasted money

I live in WSM, 12 miles away...THERE ISNT a fish/chip shop in WSM as good as this one is...we usually go for Cod and Chips, a substantial piece of cod, in batter, with chips at £5.30 each...cheaper than the haddock by 30p, but IT IS Great Value for money...they know how to cook Fish, you get a good portion of chips to go with it...I would suggest U havent eaten for several hours b4 U go, an empty stomach will be useful. In my view - this is a chippy thats hard to beat...out of all our visits (several in 18 months) we have only been disappointed once...I would suggest U give it a go, its worth travelling from WSM (seaside town) just to come here

We chose this takeaway based on the reviews we read on trip advisor. Armed with an order for 8 people we headed to Superchips for cod, haddock & rock eel, we found that only cod was available. Although apologetic it was take it or leave it, and they were closing down at only 7pm (maybe 17th September is end of season). Having said this the quality of the food was very good & very good value for money. Next time we will phone before driving 5 miles for an order for 8 people...!

A brilliant chippy, the Turkish guy who works there is brilliant, a pity he supports Arsenal but eh!

My freshly fried haddock was fantastic, though the cod my wife and kids had was rather dry, probably because it wasn't fried to order. Chips were good if not great and the service was pleasant. Pretty good value overall.
