Absolute gem of a pub! Although food isn’t an option now. Tommi is a fab landlord, and is absolutely welcoming of people bringing in their own food which is awesome, and actually works better and saves pennies! Great atmosphere and great pub!

Used to be great local but now so run down by pub company owners and disinterested manager really abysmal place. Such a pity as attractive inn located in lovely village/suburb is now terrible I wouldn’t even take my dog in there! Deserves much more tlc if it is to survive.

What a dissapointment. Absolutely Filthy, bar staff non excistant, and a manager who is sleeping on sofa and has no drive! No food, no atmosphere, music loud, and a dog that barks all the time. The village thought it would be great once new company/manager took over. Well we refuse to go. Please bring this pub back to a thriving busy pub, get a manager with passion and experience. And wants to include the village.

Tried the Sunday roast today under the new Chef, Andrew. It was one of the best roasts eating out that I think I’ve ever had. I opted for the belly pork which was just delicious. Melt in your mouth meat with a crunch from the fat on top. Our friends had the beef which was also melt in your mouth. Vegetables cooked to perfection and roast potatoes amazing. The plates were all cleaned. Nothing was left on any of our plates. Good choice of desserts but too full up to order one. This pub is definitely going places. Since Jayne, the Landlady, took over in January 2023, the difference she’s made has been remarkable. The bar staff in place now are friendly and professional. I highly recommend booking a meal here. You really won’t be disappointed. It’s extremely reasonable too. All in all, a great asset to the village and beyond.

The Old Inn has been brought back to life by the new Landlady, Jayne, who’s been at the pub coming up a year in January. Alongside the friendly atmosphere, safe environment, great home cooked food and community events, the pub has now launched its new takeaway menu. It’s absolutely amazing. Ten times better than the fish and chip shop. Freshly cooked and wrapped in authentic chip paper. The chips are incredible! Highly recommend the curry sauce and the mushy peas. Extremely reasonable prices. We absolutely loved it and will definitely order takeaway again. Pick up from the pub. Highly recommended.

I have known this formerly delightful pub for 60 years and recall how it has always been an iconic retreat known for its characterful ambiance and great food. I was shocked to see what it has become on a recent visit. The attractive part of the pub has been closed up and what remains is not worth visiting. Sad.

Been going to The Old Inn in Bishops Hull for about 5 months now, following it changing hands, which has made it a great community friendly pub. Jayne, the Landlady, goes out of her way to make sure your visit is enjoyable in a safe and welcoming way, her 'no nonsense' approach is refreshing. You could easily walk in on your own and feel absolutely fine. All food is homemade by Jayne and is absolutely delicious. We have worked our way through a lot of the menu as it's really difficult to decide on what to have as it all looks amazing! We can highly recommend the homemade steak and ale pie and the lasagne is also one of our firm favourites. The Sunday roasts are really good, too and also the quick bites are brilliant if you just want something a bit smaller. In saying that, the portions are always generous. All reasonably priced. There is a Seniors menu on a Wednesday, which is great. £10 for 2 courses. Extremely good value for money. There are always events taking place catering for the whole community, whether it be a teddy bear's picnic, a dog show, karaoke, live music and lots more. It doesn't take long to feel like a local and be part of pub life. A really nice way to spend an afternoon or evening. Highly recommended.

New year owners have refreshed the place and made a huge difference. Food was really good. We had the fish n chips and the chicken burger, both super hot freshly cooked. Apparently the chef makes their own batter for the fish (was awesome) and the chips were similar to triple cooked with crunchy crisp outside and fluffy inside... Really tasty. Very friendly staff and a much nicer atmosphere. We're going back to eat our way thru the menu!

We used to drink in this village pub 10 years ago. However, it went downhill under poor management so we left. Ten years on, this pub has been taken over 4 months ago by a new landlady, Jane. She has turned this pub around making it one of the nicest pubs you could wish for. The locals are both welcoming and friendly. Jane works tirelessly hard to ensure you have a great experience, are looked after and nothing is too much trouble. The food is all homemade. It’s absolutely delicious. Highly recommend the steak and ale pie. Absolutely amazing! The lasagne was incredible, too. If you are on your own, in a couple or a family, this pub caters for everyone. Definitely a great all rounder. Highly recommended.

Just had Sunday lunch there today with a friend. Choice of meats with vegetables. The roast beef and chicken were perfectly cooked, very tender and moist, the vegetables were cooked to perfection also, still a hint of crispness, not overcooked as often that’s the case in many restaurants. The food arrived at the table “piping hot”, steam was rising from the food on the plates, what a pleasure to tuck into a superb Sunday roast lunch. It was the best Sunday lunch I’d eaten in a long time. A HUGE Thankyou to the cook and waitress who served us.

The management and staff of this family friendly and dog friendly village pub, have, in the short time they've been there created one of the safest and friendly pub environments you could wish for. Perhaps the lady in question could have considered acting in a more adult and measured way than simply by her own admission, lashing out at a 4 year old Staffordshire blue who simply loves to play with all manner of dogs and has done almost her entire life at that establishment with no trouble at all. Having witnessed the events on the day, the lady was screaming hysterically, and was invited by the owner to 'calm down' and didn't protest as to the dogs previously good behaviour, there was no need. There was perhaps the need for a muzzle and a lead on that day, I think the lady and society would benefit enormously if she volunteered to wear one!!

Took drinks to pub garden with our dog on a lead. Loose dogs surrounded us!! Would not leave us alone then grey staffie started attacking our dog. Tried hard to get it off as it was continually snarling and trying to bite. Moved to far side of garden, dog's intent didn't lessen. Picked up our dog as now very fearful for her life!! Screamed and screamed for help, trying all the time to get this dog off - off of both of us now!!!! Swinging bag at it and trying to kick it off. Owner finally arrives and just says "it isn't normally like this" and walks off. Nobody from the "pub" came to assist us. My daughter had to get the owner of the pub. He arrives and fixes the fence which had broken during attack and also says "it isn't normally like this". He refused to give me the owner's name and address, to report the dog. He said nothing to the owner and left us with my daughter crying and dog visibly distressed. We left very upset, especially my daughter, and have reported the attack to the Police and Dog Warden. DO NOT GO TO THIS PUB - THE ATTITUDE OF THE STAFF IS APPALLING AND FRANKLY WE ALL WERE LUCKY TO COME OUT UNINJURED

This is a review of the Old Inn as a B&B and not as a place to eat. The breakfast we had on morning one was OK, certainly nothing special. The welcome was unsmiling and we were made to feel almost like an inconvenience. The room was basic. No wardrobe, just a set of shelves with a flimsy hanging attachment. No waste bin. Toilet and bathrooms are up the corridor, toilet didn’t even have a working lock! Tea and coffee facilities in the corridor. The tea we made on the second morning smelt, I think the little milk tubs may have been off. Corridor is dark and lit with motion detecting lights. They come on too late to be useful. My wife is still nursing a strained foot where she fell on a step. The bar clientele were about the most loud and foul mouthed that I have ever seen and I am broad minded. The revelry carried on till well past the early hours and we were kept awake for most of the night with sounds of groaning, banging and muttering along the corridor. No breakfast on morning two but that didn’t matter because we weren’t keen on having a breakfast cooked by one of the main revellers the night before. We did receive an unsolicited message apologizing for the failure to provide a breakfast and they did provide a refund for that. I don’t wish the owners any ill and I hope they make a success of their venture, but I think they need to seriously up their game if it’s not going to fail in the not to distant future. Suffice it to say, I won’t be returning under any circumstances.

I was travelling south with family when we called ahead and asked if there was any chance that we would be able to have food if we arrived at 9pm, not really expecting that the kitchen would still be open at that time on a Wednesday night. To our surprise we were assured that this would not be a problem. We got there just after 9pm and were offered an extensive menu. We ordered 2 sirloin steaks, scampi and a chicken dish. We were not disappointed. The steaks (excellent quality) we cooked to our liking on hot stones and were also given a large bowl of salad to share. All of the meals were delicious and we had a lovely chat with the staff who were very friendly. Unfortunately we are not likely to be back in this part of the country in the near future but would recommend the locals to give it a go.

Popped in this pub for a drink on Wed 7th Feb about 7ish. It was filthy, there were old dog chews littering the floor and 2 dogs pestering you continuously. No ales on. There were two of us and we went and sat away from the bar. A customer then put the jukebox on and demanded the music be turned up until we could not have a conversation. we moved to a quieter area nearer the bar, making it obvious why we had moved, the same customer, followed us back to the bar and then turned the music up where we were sitting. He was obviously in charge and did not want anyone else in the pub. The Landlord/barman shrugged his shoulders and did nothing. We drank and left.

We had two orders of the grilled trout and one pork belly. Another member of our party had the ham, egg and chips. All excellent. Service was fast and friendly. And a good selection of vegetables included. Plus, nice beers and cider on tap. All very reasonably priced. Good parking in the back and very clean toilets.

Great place, great food, great staff. Went for a big family get together pre Christmas and we all really enjoyed it. As we were a big group we were asked to pre order our food, most of us went for one of the roasts but not all of us so it was nice to have 'normal' menu options available as well as roasts. The service was excellent, we were offered sauces without having to ask and before and throughout the meal we were asked if we wanted more drinks. We were looked after by Ellie who was really helpful and efficient, she dealt with our various requests with a smile. The food was also really, I had a veg wellington roast that was lovely, roast potatoes were great, as was the Yorkshire and the veg, my other half had the trio of meat roast which he said was very good but he felt the beef was a bit bland, some of our group ordered the side order of cauliflower cheese and really enjoyed it. As a group we found we had the right amount of veg, but not enough gravy, however we asked for more gravy and were brought extra any without any questions. Some of us had puddings, it was great to have the mini pudding option with a hot drink too. Our only criticism of the puddings were those that were having custard had a very small amount and would have liked more but after asking for extra gravy we felt a bit too cheeky to ask for extra custard too. Toilets were nice and clean. Decor of the pub attractive and a good mix between traditional and contemporary. Summary highly recommended and Ellie was wonderful.

Having met friends for a walk at Fyne Court we decided to call in for some lunch afterwards. What a little gem! Beautiful pub, clean and well presented. Cheerful helpful staff, good menu which catered for our Vegan and Gluten free friends. We would definitely visit again

Was shown to table, really friendly staff. Chose the breakfast and a couple of drinks. It looks expensive but well worth it. As wasn’t busy, came out quick. Though it was starting to fill up. Only criticism is plates need to be warmed as food went cold quick, and more butter. We would return.
