Called in for a quick lunch, the food and service was excellent very friendly staff we will certainly go there again

I am hard to please and usually always find fault but no complaints here all round !

Superb. Staff are friendly and helpful, food was hot and very nice. Can’t complain and will be back next time we are in the area.

First time back for Sunday Lunch since it was the New Mill, rather disappointing, service was very slow and the Trio Roast was barely warm. Not sure how the potatoes are roasted, but we're soft and collapsed when cut. Had to ask three times for the desert menu. Apple and Blackberry Crumble was excellent.

Very friendly pub, Brad served us some fantastic espresso martinis. Highly recommended.

Nice pub for cheap and cheerful food

Had fish and chips, really nice. Plenty, couldn't eat all of my meal.

Have to say our visit on a Saturday around 15:00 was very underwhelming. Service was incredibly slow which was surprising as the restaurant wasn't very busy and the beef brisket sandwich, whilst it tasted good was tiny, the bread was so thin. It's a lovely looking Inn but unfortunately, not one I'll be returning to in a rush.

The Sunday lunch was amazing as was our waitress. It was probably the best Sunday roast we haveever had and our 17 year old said his burger meal was the same.

Lovely visit to the Bathpool with friends and family the food is top notch with great staff and ambience.

It was my birthday, my husband asked for a rose , it was there and a birthday card from you. The service was excellent as was Grace and Michella who looked after us, and then desert candles and written In Chocolate Happy Birthday and they sang+ a bottle of Prosecco what more could a girl ask for. Fantastic evening.

The service from the table waiter was excellent. The main course was very good. The 40minute wait for dessert was ridiculous . It was ice cream! The dessert- honeycomb dome £9.50, sounded amazing on the menu. What was served was thoroughly underwhelming and not worth £9.50. The pavlova didn’t fair much better with a near inedible meringue base. The most disappointing thing was when heading to the toilets, I heard the waitress asked very politely in the kitchen , with the door open, how long desserts would be, the way the chef spoke to her was disgraceful, his food wasn’t at Gordon Ramsey levels and he certainly doesn’t have the right to speak to the staff like Ramsey does, we all know that is just for TV. It is no wonder they are short staffed in there.

Our waitress was in need of some customer service training, her whole attitude was that of someone who didn't want to be there and wished all the customers would just hurry up and leave. The food was dreadful, I ate very little of my meal and when I mentioned that it was less than lovely, the waitress asked me to 'explain exactly what was wrong with it'! Will not be returning.

Living locally have been a regular visitor over the years and was excited to try it after the refit. It looks great and has a good atmosphere, seated quickly with a great menu selection. Everything was going well up until the food arrived when it was presented to the table with no ask of whether we wanted sauces or anything else. We waited a minute or 2 as an item we had requested when ordering also hadn’t arrived but no one came back. We watched as group of 5 staff members stood around the bar area having a meeting which dispersed when I inconvenienced them by asking for some sauces. The food was great and I would highly recommend it but they are missing the finishing touches on service when delivering the food and not saying goodbye which is a shame. This place has the potential to be brilliant once they start focusing on the customer.

Large party on an afternoon. Lovely venue, spotless and quiet. All food was pre ordered as per the request however upon arriving we were told we were given the wrong menu choices and therefor several options now weren't available. Made it unnecessarily clunky and then impacted the times at which all the food came out - some had finished while others were still waiting. That said the food was lovely and the staff who served us were great - just the pre ordering and timing timing that let it down a little.

We visited the Bathpool Inn for a family birthday meal, not only did we have a lovely meal but we were served by Ellie who was extremely attentive, knowledgeable about the menu, friendly and just an absolute star from start to finish! Thank you Ellie for making our evening perfect!

The two girls who were working were great. They were trying their hardest to keep up with the flow of people coming in. There was a lot of customers and clearly not enough staff. It was a shame the chap who was working was more interested in completing admin and rotas than serving people. The food was good

Fabulous steak dinner. Faultless cooking. Congratulations to the kitchen. Sadly, front of staff less on the ball. Ordered wine and water, but only wine arrived. Had to chase up the water when the dinner arrived. The FOH staff were having a nice chat between themselves which probably explained the lapse.

Excellent food with great veggie options, friendly service, and good set up. Returned here over a weekend since it's had a refurbishment. Same great quality food and service.

Recently refreshed. Bit disappointed with the ordering of meals from the bar. Preferred the previous table wait system. Too many people queuing at the bar to order drinks and meals.

We had Sunday lunch to celebrate my Mother's Birthday. Although the pub internally looks great post refit, we were not impressed with the staff or the food. I did not make a scene as it was my Mums Birthday. A number of customers were not happy about certain things, the waiting staff were rude and derogatory within ear shot of customers. Excessively long waiting time for food to arrive, when it did, it was average at best. The food is over priced for what it is, we likely won't return. A shame, as we were hoping for better.

Just a walk in, but was made very welcome, no problem getting a table and all staff were excellent, very personable. Decor was lovely and fresh, food outstanding we will be going again. Highly recommended.

Great vegan options (marked in VE on menu) mains and starters and vegan dessert available too. Really good quality and well thought out, not just veggie options thrown in there. Lovely big garden with seating that’s out in the sun and options in the shade that are more secluded and private. Bar and restaurant are clean and staff are nice and attentive. Bathrooms are clean and tidy, lots of different seating options available too.

Very impressed, Relaxed and friendly atmosphere. We had the Salads and added side dishes - flat breads, chorizo and fish. Looked and tasted good. Certain to return

I'm glad this is back to being called The Bathpool Inn. Went for lunch on a Saturday. Lovely atmosphere, relatively busy but not crowded. Place is well decorated and it was clean. Food was delicious! The staff were friendly and attentive. It is a bit pricey but the food was of good quality and was very tasty.

Great atmosphere, very comfortable and modern. Staff are super friendly which is lovely to see. Had the sticky sharing platter and was very impressed! We did not go hungry but hopefully you will take some constructive comments in the spirit they are meant ....I would change the chorizo sausage bowl to be a mixed dish of chorizo sausages and patatas bravas combined. It was a lot of chorizo. The tzaziki and hummus would be great in your little pots along with a pot of aioli too. What is brilliant is it all tasted freshly cooked, even the hummus and tzaziki tasted home made. The dish on the whole was delicious and I would definitely recommend it. Only downside is drinks were on the pricey side. A pint of non alcoholic beer and a fever tree ginger ale were £14.

New menu very good Staff excellent and friendly

The staff were efficient, helpful and friendly to our request, the pork belly was wonderful and the signature burger takes some beating. Be sure to book as it's busy, but the quality doesn't suffer through its popularity.

Popped into the newly refurbished Bath pool Inn and was amazed at the transformation from when I last visited. However upon ordering just two vegetable wraps I was informed that two of the ingredients weren't available and it then took a further 25 minutes to arrive at our table despite being a quiet lunchtime. I sincerely hope this unfortunate episode is just teething troubles?

Waitress (Neesha I think her name was) was excellent. Very friendly and helpful. Deserts were very good. Unfortunately all 3 of our steaks were served cold and all under cooked (rare not medium as asked) one was inedible due to toughness on one half and too rare on the other. Chips also undercooked and hard in the middle. Sauces were good though

Nice welcoming, homely pub/restaurant. Great beer garden for those summer days/evenings. Lovely log fire for those cold and wet winter nights. Foods good, beer is lovely. Took the pup for a walk and stopped off for a bite to eat and a beer. Waiter was so friendly and great with the pup.

We came here as a family of twelve for my dad's 90th birthday. The table was ready for us on arrival and we were greeted very warmly. Drinks order taken by Grace (who was a star throughout our stay) and very nice they were too with a mixture of real ale, lager, and soft drinks all in first class condition. The pre-ordered food came out to us in a very timely fashion, ranging from two steaks to a chicken salad, gammon, and hunters chicken schnitzel. Everyone enjoyed it and would recommend it to their friends. Most importantly, though, my dad thoroughly enjoyed it with the staff being very kind, attentive, and very good humoured. Well done all at the New Mill and thank you!

Good food and excellent service

A nice chilled lunch with a great atmosphere! Staff were really friendly and my dog Bruno felt comfortable, the new assistant manager Chris made us feel very welcome and was great with our dog!

We went to the New Mill yesterday for a nice family dinner as it is a firm favourite of ours. As always, the food was delicious and the service was amazing. Chris was especially lovely as he came over and spent time with us and engaged really well with our dog and made us feel very welcome!

Great meal enjoyed by the family. The manager Chris was 5-star very welcoming and friendly. We will definitely be coming back

We went for a roast as we were recommended so we were looking forward to it. WRONG it was the worst meal that we have ever had to pay for. We had a roast and the meat was cold and the Yorkshire was so hard and cold that it just crumbled into pieces. And then we had to wait a good ten minutes for our veg which was only parsnips and broccoli and we wouldn’t have got that unless we asked about it. For pudding my wife and myself both had the Eaton mess and there was one piece of fruit in it a very small amount of meringue and a huge amount of cream, we couldn’t eat it plus we had to wait over twenty minutes after we had ordered the pudding before we got it. And the bill was £70 for absolutely terrible food and service. Definitely would not recommend.

Really sad to be writing this but we have just come back from a meal at the New Mill in Taunton. We ordered a roast which took for ever to come out, when it did there was no veg that then took another 10mins at least to come out after asking twice, the meal was cold the meat was tough and the Yorkshire pudding was so hard it just crumbled into fine pieces when trying to cut it. Once we had finished it took ages to be asked if we wanted pudding, once ordered the pudding we then waited another 30 mins for the pudding, we ordered Eaton mess which came as a plate of cream with one piece of fruit and one small cube of meringue I could not even eat it. The bill was £70 per couple for food that you couldn’t even eat There was one girl having to serve and deal with at least 50 people Not good and we will definitely not be going back

My family went for Sunday roast. All staff were attentive and helpful - especially Grace who was the main waitress for our table. There was a good variety of roast options and the group, which sampled most options, found the food of a high quality (including desert). I Would definitely bring the family again.

Only just got onto trip adviser but we came here in Feb and I have to say the food was amazing. Catered very well for my sons allergies and great outside space. Also accommodating for the dog too which is great he's able to come along for a day out. Many thanks

The food was delicious! The interior decor was very pleasing, and the dog friendly area was very cute. The main bar man was very friendly. However, when we were seated, the waitress did not inform us that we had to order at the bar, so after waiting for service for half an hour when we got to the bar to order we then were told there was a 30min wait for food. So we wished we’d have known to order at bar so we would’ve ordered straight away and not waited 1 hr for food. We noticed another couple who came in with us, they were in same situation and we’re not told to order at bar, and so they left !

Love my local ,Bradley and the staff there are so attentive and understanding of my daughters needs who suffers with leukima . The team are always able to change menu choices to cater for my daughter , they always know what we like and at times often have my drink already poured when I walk in . Bradley will always ask after the family and is very person centred . Nick the manager has a great team at the new mill and I would always choose my local over any other pub . There reward scheme is great and the place is dog friendly aswell meaning everyone is catered for

I have came here a few times now and I must say Brad on the bar is a great laugh but knows how to keep it professional, his service is great and him and nick seem to be a great duo , would definitely recommend the new mill
