I was fortunate enough to come to the Wingrove as a treat for my 40th birthday celebrations. Our friends had previously been and said how lovely it was- it did not disappoint! 3 of us had the fillet steak and 1 had the lamb!! The fillet steak was the BEST I’ve ever had, the taste was amazing! It melted it your mouth and was perfectly cooked! The portions were generous and filling! The puddings were also wonderful and the taste was lovely! The waitress was extremely accommodating and we weren’t waiting long for anything! The Wingrove will definitely be our ‘go to’ restaurant for special occasions in the future. Thank you for such a wonderful experience!

Great little farm shop, good stop for coffee and breakfast, a little lacking in stock .Great fresh fish addition .We camped here too , separate business now , campsite was clean and functional and expensive for what it offered £50 for 2 adults 2 dogs a child aged 13 and fire pit and logs ,Quiet site bit of road noise .

Interesting experience. Arrived at opening. Busy gentleman filling drinks fridge. Friendly lady finally appeared and engaged immediately. Small pub with some superb decor, lots of great beams and similar decoration. Shortish lunch menu but enough choices for picky me! Starter was a mint and soy lamb rib with smashed cucumber dressing and a kick of something spicy. Main was a pollo milanese that I asked not to include the cheese. Nicely cooked and presented with a lovely tomato based sauce and a mountain of rabbit food! Dessert was a chocolate heavy dessert with raspberry gel and a nice raspberry sorbet. Venue has real character and the waitress was genuinely engaged in her work. Toilet is functional bearing in mind the age. Nice food and waitress.

Popped in for a late lunch with my wife on 31 March 2025. The staff were welcoming and friendly, especially the "newbie" on her first day. We had a lovely lunch with delicious apricot cake afterwards. I would recommend this venue as a friendly place for lunch and/or afternoon tea.

I visited twice on my visit back to the UK. After many recommendations to visit this lovely little tearoom. The sandwiches and scones are delicious and the afternoon tea was a delight. I took home some freshly made Cornish pasties for my husband and they were eaten with gusto. The atmosphere is cosy and inviting and they are helpful and friendly. I will definately visit again on my next trip back to the uk and will recommend to friends.

During the first lockdown the Blacksmiths Arms offered takeaway service and they drove around Lewes delivering food and pouring draught beer from the boot of the car! It was joyful. The goat curry I had that evening was the best I'd ever eaten, not even taking into account the circumstances, and I've thought about it for the 5 yrs since... went back finally with a friend last weekend, and had the same thing again. Goat curry with rice and peas. It was gluten-free, as was most of the menu, and absolutely delicious. Unctuous, melting off the bone, deep, rich, punchy sauce. Looking forward to the summer BBQ!! Thank you for a great evening

We were looking for a reasonably price place to have lunch and found The wishing well on Tripadvisor. We loved the informal garden and it was dog friendly. But the menu offered door step sandwiches which were fantastic served with nice fresh salad leaves. Then we finished with a slice of homemade cake which was fantastic. Definitively returning to this little gem of a tea room.
