Went there today for afternoon tea, I do not like fruit scones they gave me 2 plain my friend had one of each. Food was fantastic, we loved it everything was really good produce was top class. Staff were very helpful, Waiter was very attentive couldn't do enough for us. Crockery was very clean, not cracked (as it has been in some places we have.been too) Strongly recommend you to give it a go especially if you like afternoon tea

I visit this pub often . Last night I heard the manager talk in such a putrid way about one of his former members of staff . He used a word beginning with C . This was the most uncomfortable un professional thing I had seen / heard . There's lots of bad press about Lee and I have never listened to it before but this was horrid . I won't be going back

Cant comment on Rooms as just used the Restaurant. Drinks are Crazy Prices. £15:00 for an Aperil Spritz! Food is Good but to be Frank the Service Charge & Drink Prices are a Rip Off. Also Menu Chioice is Linited to a Few Specials & a Set Menu. Would not go back. Sad as the location is awesome.

We had finished our coffees before our food arrived, and my sausage sandwich was made with sliced bread and mas produced sausages which had no texture, no garnish just two slices of bread and cheap sausages for £7. This arrived after my wife had started hers as they brought the wrong order first. Its also a very noisy place if you have hearing aids

I drove through the pretty village of Alfriston on my way to a work appt and decided to come back for a late lunch. I was warmly welcomed and chose a table. I ordered the homemade potato and leek soup which was delicious and opted to have bread with mine. Also had a pot of tea. I see some reviews mention cost - I disagree. My meal was piping hot, very filling and home made. Very happy with the price I paid! Afterwards I had a wander round the village- really enjoyed it! See you next time x

I have to be honest, the food is way below average...ie, really very bad. Was clear that food was not cooked fresh. I still felt I wanted to tip our lovely waitress as she did an amazing job, especially as she had to contend with the continuous shouting and to be honest, damn right rude shouting from the kitchen "chefs" . Our waitress was very greatful for her tip, however told us that they rarely receive their tips. I think this is disgusting. Such a shame

I visited twice on my visit back to the UK. After many recommendations to visit this lovely little tearoom. The sandwiches and scones are delicious and the afternoon tea was a delight. I took home some freshly made Cornish pasties for my husband and they were eaten with gusto. The atmosphere is cosy and inviting and they are helpful and friendly. I will definately visit again on my next trip back to the uk and will recommend to friends.

Warm welcome and cosy dining room. We both had the pork. Very tasty and plenty of it. Good selection of vegetables and crispy potatoes. Only criticism is the apple sauce out of a jar, which is sloppy, cheap tasting and too sweet, it’s so easy to make.
