Disappointed that they didn't do a full breakfast, we had bacon and sausage sandwiches which were ok but served in a cardboard box, the tea and coffee are served in disposable cups. The area where you sit is an out building with a concrete floor and plastic tablecloths it was also on the pricey side they could do so much better. The campsite looked nice with good facilities.

We thankfully came across this lovely farm shop whilst on a long walk. We stopped for a cup of tea and a delicious homemade sausage roll, whilst our black Labrador enjoyed doggie ice cream! Plenty of seats (some outside and some under cover), toilets and a nice lady serving the food. A friendly butcher was very helpful and told us the way back to our car. We will definitely visit here again and next time bring the car so that we can buy some of the delicious produce on offer.

My Mum and I have been coming down to Chilley Farm for 2 years now cycling. We always stopped for coffee. Today we arrived, parked up our bikes and took a short walk up to see the pond and see a Gazebo being put up, before we had ordered our coffee. We left a box of Pringles on the table which got stolen by the waitress. Who was so rude, she accused us of sitting on her chairs out side without paying. My Mum and I was shocked at her attitude, so I told her to forget the coffee, we then left. The Waitress has No customer service skills. And needs to be more polite to the Chilley farm customers. She has long Blonde hair in a ponytail.

This is usually a cheerful, clean place to buy a drink and a treat. There's some well maintained toilets for public use, situated alongside the campers' amenities. We always bring the dogs here for a walk and then a drink whilst sat on the shady benches. It has good weather protection from sun, rain and wind. Sometimes hosts loud, crowded weddings with no warning, but tends to be after 4pm when shop closes. My dad has recently had a stroke, so is doing his physio rehab and walking with supervision up the lanes. They're quiet roads with little traffic, sensible and thoughtful drivers and cyclists. Lovely views. However, our last visit resulted in an awkward exchange with the staff. We had bought coffees and cake and sat under the wooden awning. My dad was particularly tired from his walk. A nice young lady brought out our order and we started to enjoy it. I'm a celiac so can't have gluten, and I dont risk cross contamination unless a place has full hygiene rating and an area specifically for gluten-free food preparation. This is a big ask from a little shop, so rather than fuss and embarass staff, I bring my own snack. However, the staff took exemption to this and came out again after serving our order, specifically to tell me I can only eat food we had purchased. Now we had already bought drinks and cake for my dad and brother, and I had a large cappuccino we were currently enjoying. I mentioned I am a celiac and they didnt have appropriate food for me. But staff said I had to go sit in the open field to eat my gf roll. My dad pointed out he isnt letting his daughter - who paid for the order - go sit on her own in an empty playing field. He pointed out his walking sticks and his stroke, the beating sun, and the fact we had spent £20 in the shop. **But we were told our purchases and disability make no difference** I was stumped. Now we weren't wanting special treatment at another's expense; The benches by the shop were hardly 50% occupied, and the seats under the shelter where we sat were otherwise empty. At least 4 other empty tables. So we werent taking seating from another paying customer. Yet the staff didn't use their best judgement, common sense or just some basic decency. They repeated that I needed to leave the bench and sit in the field (no seating), if I wanted to eat my roll. BUT I could take my coffee cup with me. Well, how generous... Not convinced, I pointed out the only thing not purchased was my small gluten free bap, and they had nothing celiac safe to buy. The staff insisted there were gluten free sandwiches made to order, but couldnt seem to understand my questions about cross-contamination and a seperate preparation area. These are genuine fears and something inspectors will look at for goods advertised as celiac-safe. Basically, the sandwiches were gluten free bread, but not sold as celiac safe. I won't chance my guts on 24hrs of agony for a sandwich, just so we could sit under the shelter. Knowing I'd get no sensible or kind judgement from staff, I packed my roll back into my bag. It spoilt the whole trip and now we're exploring other shops and picnic areas. All that because of a gluten free bun and staff lacking judgement. A sign doesnt mean staff should have no autonomy to make an informed judgement. It was no benefit to anyone to make me go sit in a field like an outcast. Next time, consider everyone's best interest, especially when it comes to health and the shop already made a good sale. You put out a customer after already taking our money and made us feel uncomfortable and discriminated.

Sausage rolls & Scotch eggs were amazing, as usual. Staff always friendly. Nice to see that there is a price list now for the fruit & veg - something that wasn't there on my previous visits. Still no prices at the butcher's counter. I find this disappointing, let me explain - it's not about being able to afford or not, it's the anxiety & feeling of embarrassment when you are surrounded by customers who obviously don't need to worry about the cost & there's you, price-checking. I could afford to buy something, even if just as a treat but the feelings of self-consciousness that are brought about by the situation tend to mean that I look & keep moving. On the whole, a lovely place to visit especially on a sunny day, sat outside with a drink.

Have been here a couple of times to camp with family and it’s a really peaceful, well organised campsite with nice facilities. The shop is great with good coffee and breakfast. The only surprising factor which is disappointing is the use of polystyrene and non compostable cups for all breakfasts. There was so much unnecessary waste for a simple breakfast. I kind of expected better for a farm for some reason. Otherwise highly recommended.

We stayed here over a hot weekend and communication beforehand with Angie was excellent. About half an hour after we arrived she pitched up in her buggie to greet us and give us our fire pit and logs. I was amazed when she explained that the farm had been in her family for 400 years! In the field there were about 15-20 tents so it wasn't too busy. There are two good play areas for the kids and the nearby toilets and showers are very good quality and cleaned very often. The farm shop itself is well stocked, if a little pricey (captive audience I guess) and the coffee is very very good! They had some local Sussex ales and ciders which I was interested in. Cyclists come by for the bacon sandwiches and cakes. On speaking to some other campers, there were many repeat visitors - some who only live about 20 minutes away, which is a really good sign. I'm sure we'll be back!

We had a 2 night stay on the campsite, arriving 7pm on the Friday. Loads of space to pitch up even though we arrived quite late, and within an hour they had been round to drop off our fire pit and logs and made sure we knew where everything was. Toilets and showers were clean and tidy, as was the washing up area. Really handy to have freezer to re-chill ice blocks to keep our beers cold! Farm shop provided lovely coffee and great bacon sarnies, only sad point was that it doesn't open till 9 and we were up at 7. Great walks round the fields, easy to get to Pevensey and the beach. Check out was as easy as check in, just pack up go! Only negative is that you can hear the main road, which is busy with traffic at all hours. Be prepared to hear motorbikes at 3am!

We came here on a recommendation on a Thursday 2.00 pm lunch treat. Unfortunately it wasn’t great from the start, there wasn’t any heating apart from a struggling log burner and an electric portable, which by the way we managed to sit at the table two feet away and still debated about putting our coats back on. I ordered the roast turkey , which I was told straight away that it was turkey roll not slices of breast but I was fine with that. When it arrived it was two slices of turkey, four parsnips and a small sweet potato, hardly enough for a child, it was tasty but disappointing. So on to desert… we were both going to order the banoffee pie as it’s one of our favourites but after discussing it with the waitress and hearing that it actually came what she called “ deconstructed “ crushed biscuit in one area ice cream on another and a caremelised banana to one side.. hardly banoffee pie as I know and love we opted out and went for the crumble.. can’t go wrong with crumble we thought.. oh dear got that wrong .. who leaves the skins on the pears when making a crumble.. it’s as if the chef is changing the recipe just for the sake of it when not necessary.its a pub not fu fu restaurant.sorry didn’t take any photos.wont be returning but after this review I expect they won’t want us back.
