We were looking for a reasonably price place to have lunch and found The wishing well on Tripadvisor. We loved the informal garden and it was dog friendly. But the menu offered door step sandwiches which were fantastic served with nice fresh salad leaves. Then we finished with a slice of homemade cake which was fantastic. Definitively returning to this little gem of a tea room.

Very dissapointed with the decline in this once lovely tearoom grass uncut dead hanging baskets old toys strewn around the garden. To be honest wasn't expecting much as regards the food but our sandwiches were surprisingly nice, won't be returning though

Have been here a few times now and the service is always excellent, as is the food. Great for toddlers too, as my little one was entertained by the dolls house, some other toys and Wendy house outside. Always a great selection of cakes, some classics and unusual ones to try too. Would highly recommend!

The was absolutely stunning we have afternoon tea for my mums 82nd birthday and it did. It disappoint. The sandwiches and cake were to die for, all freshly home made and lots of different flavours, excellent quality. The lady that owns this make all the cakes herself The staff were all lovely and friendly and were very helpful. Highly recommended, we will definitely be going back 10/10❤️

This tea rooms is on the main A27. The car park is at the back for those who may easily drive past! The day we went only one person was serving but what a great job she did of it. Sandwiches were excellent, plenty of filling and the best ingredients, a terrific choice of cakes all served with a lovely manner. Would we go back again? Without a doubt. Give it a try you will not be disappointed.

Justine and her team hosted an amazing Afternoon Tea gathering for my partner's 70th birthday. Everything was perfect - the setting, the ambiance, the friendly service and the wonderful food (including dietary needs). Above and beyond what I could have hoped for. You guys are Superstars! Thank you so very much. See you soon Xx

This place is quite a mixed bag. The food and cake we had were very good, but the service and presentation of the tea room and garden were so poor that it was hard to justify a higher score. I love the fact that the place was so child friendly, but it was a mess. Having to move and step over toys in the garden on the way in wasnt a great start. It was very quiet on the day we visited with only 4 other customers at one table, and yet the staff were happy to stand and chat whilst we waited 20 minutes just to place our order. The order was very slow to arrive but was very tasty when it did. If this was a review just about the food, I would be very happy to give it 5/5. However, the customer service was so poor, and the place just felt very messy. It feels such a shame and a waste, especially as the staff themselves were lovely and so was the food. There seems to be no awareness at all of the customer experience. A good tidy up, declutter and some interaction with the customers is needed. Unlikely to return sadly.

Very disappointing, scones were awful. Very unwelcoming. Garden was like a play area. Kids tea parties now seem be the focus. We have visited many times under previous owners, introducing many friends, but we won't be returning.

3 of us came in & had a deluxe afternoon tea, I love that you get a choice of sandwiches, cake & scones, you also get a slice of tray bake. There was a children’s party in at the same time, we were sat in a table away from them, I must say their childrens afternoon tea looked delicious as well. We will definitely be returning soon.

Such a sad thing to happen during a much needed holiday. We ordered the £21.95 “Deluxe High Tea” for two, costing £43.90. We immediately had to send one sandwich back because it had a black hair in. A replacement never arrived. The sandwiches were meant to come with pesto and didn’t have any in. The mozzarella in each sandwich was tiny. We didn’t get any drinks and had to go back in and ask for them. I asked the waitress if we could please have our drinks and mentioned that the tomato, mozzarella and pesto sandwiches didn’t have any pesto in. The cakes were also not the cakes we had asked for. The waitress asked us what we wanted to do and my husband decided we’d actually just like a refund, as we had only eaten half a sandwich. Which we said we would pay for. It didn’t feel very “deluxe” for £44. Next minute I was asked to wait outside as the manager wanted to speak to me. She came rushing out the kitchen and slammed our money on the table! She snapped at us “I made those sandwiches myself and I’m happy with them!” “You can have your refund, but if you’re rude to my staff then you can just leave” I asked her how we’d been rude. She was about an inch away from my face and was extremely hostile. She didn’t answer. I couldn’t have been more surprised, as the reviews about this place are amazing and we’d been looking forward to it for two days. We were in NO WAY rude. Simply asked for our drinks (which come with the cream tea) and pointed out that the sandwiches weren’t quite right! Are we not allowed to ask that?! The manager said we should count ourselves lucky that they don’t charge extra for gluten free as it costs them “£5” more per person. Really? Does that mean we should expect less care, kindness and quality and accept that bits will be wrong or missing, because they’re really doing us a favour?! She stomped off back to the kitchen. Really quite unbelievable.

We had our daughters 5th birthday here and we all had the most amazing day. Nothing was too much for the team and they prepared everything perfectly for our daughters special day. The food for the party was delicious and personalised for the theme. The setting is perfect for a birthday party. The team were absolutely fantastic and we are so grateful that they enabled us to have the perfect birthday party. And finally birthday cake was fabulous and tasted amazing. Thank you again very much to the Wishing Well team💫✨👌🏻👏🏻

This delightful tea room is the perfect place for a quiet afternoon tea. There were a range of sandwiches, several varieties of homemade scones and numerous delicious cakes to choose from. Our teapot was topped up as many times as we wanted and we spent a relaxed afternoon with friends celebrating a birthday. The staff were friendly, efficient and helpful adding to the pleasure of the visit. We certainly need to visit again to try a different flavour scone and cake. Thank you for a lovely afternoon.

Just had a lovely cream tea at the Wishing Well Tea Rooms. We were impressed by the choice of flavoured scones and the variety of different cakes. We had three different types of sandwich which we really enjoyed. The staff couldn’t do enough for us and nothing seemed to be too much trouble. Everything was done with a smile! Now we’ve found it we’ll definitely be going back.

Driven past these tea rooms on many an occasion but at last tried a visit on Sunday as a group of 5 for a family birthday. We hadn't booked and as the weather wasn't as warm as we had hoped we decided to eat inside, the white clapperboard tearoom was a huge delight inside with smart gingham tablecloths and nice locally sourced art pieces at reasonable prices. However there was a large group booked in and it looked like we wouldn't be accommodated but the absolutely charming lady and gent at front of house found a way to look after us with the kind flexibility of another guest. I chose the full tea which included a sandwich of your choice, 2 scones of your choice and a slice of cake, when I was asked what cake I wanted the list of cakes reeled off was from cake heaven and everything home-made. I chose the fruit cake which was a light fruit cake and delicious. Other items ordered at our table were a couple of toasted cheese sandwiches, a jacket potato and a savoury tea of wonderful cheese scones with a cheese and herb spread, all of these items came with a lovely salad, we all had tea ( again an impressive list of black, green and fruit teas) or coffee and a soft drink, the bill for 5 was £41, only a little more than one afternoon tea at our old favourite The Grand Eastbourne! Toilet facilities whilst in the garden were spotlessly clean, service in particular was most memorable, we will be back possibly on the Community Bus. Thank you for looking after us so well.

We visited here on Saturday for lunch, well what a very very pleasant experience. Firstly, what a lovely welcome we received, by a lady named Christine I believe, we chose to sit inside despite the heat and were left to choose our table, very nice ambiance inside, plenty to look at from local artists ( you may pic up a bargain and an original piece of work). We looked over the menu which had an extremely good choice, from Jackets, Sandwiches ( plain and toasted ) ploughmans, salads and cakes and cream teas and more. We settled for a mix of Paninis and toasted sandwiches which I must say were all absolutely delicious and so beautifully presented. The fillings were plentiful and tasty and came with a lovely side salad and really yummy crisps. Also offered was salad dressing which was again really tasty. We will definitely be back to try one of their afternoon teas, both Savoury and Sweet. Thank you so much for a beautiful lunch.

Popped in for a coffee whilst in the area for business. Charming little place. I simply wanted to mention this place as the flat white I had was a great, great cup of coffee. If only other coffee shops could provide similar quality.

The customer service was very good and there was a choice of indoor and outdoor seating. The cafe discourages people using laptops. Looked to be a good selection of cakes and drinks. The lunches we saw looked good quality but there are cheaper lunches available in Uckfield. We would us it again.

It's always nice to find a cozy pub which is so accommodating of gluten free. Most of their menu items could be offered as gluten free which was such a treat. I had a lovely fish and chips followed by a chocolate honeycomb pudding.
