The best restaurants serving British food in Shepway South East

Great food in a charming environment. All for a good cause and v wholesome. I would thoroughly recommend!

Thoroughly enjoyed our unexpected Christmas dinner. We stayed in the hotel room only, so got a special price voucher to get a meal in the restaurant fir a bargain price. We had a seafood starter, followed by turkey and gammon with trimmings. After was a lovely selection of gateau, plus we could have had Christmas pudding. Followed this with cheeses and crackers. A complimentary glass of fizz and not forgetting the crackers and unlimited hot drinks. We were so full, we were burstin ( excuse the pun). Definitely eat here again, even at the full price, as worth every penny.

It was quite an interesting experience. We didn’t see much activity because the day was too hot when we went but we didn’t see a lioness on the prowl for a bird. This is more fun by foot I think because riding in the truck goes by too fast.

We had heard great things but it wasn't that amazing actually. The upstairs bar area is nice (albeit small) until you go outside then it just looks cheap, plastic seating and very ordinary. The Staff in the restaurant are polite and helpful but the food was disappointing. Ordered High Gilt Bream as a main and it came with everything except its insides so wasn't filleted at all and that's just pure laziness by kitchen staff ... the atmosphere is okay but crowded and VERY noisy.

A good local pub in the centre of Folkestone that has the space to accommodate larger groups. Beer offering was varied and staff were polite and efficient. We didn't eat, so not part of our review.

After a long 2hour dog walk, 4 hoomans & 5 bassets , we visited here for a fantastic Sunday lunch, food was absolutely delicious, I had the beef and it was so tasty & tender, others in my group had the pork and they found it delicious too! Cauliflower cheese was included with the beef and it was so tasty, highly recommend Will definitely be returning 😃❤️

My sister and I stayed at the Burlington hotel we decided to eat in the restaurant. We both ordered the rump steak medium rare + fries +side salad. The waitress was prompt on taking the order because there was a coach party of 33 people staying in the hotel. The food arrived after 15 mins, before we had even picked our knife and fork up we were asked is everything ok? It was not until we tucked in that you could visually see the steak was burnt on the outside also the chips were over cooked. The waitress returned after 15 mins to take our plates away, she could see that my sister had left a quarter of it when she explained to the waitress that it was burnt and tasted bitter she replied that it is normal when the flames hit it on the side. We would have normally sent it back but we were on a time limit with going to see a show the main purpose of our visit in staying in the hotel. To say the steak along was £16 it included a slice of tomato and half of mushroom, extra was chips +salad was 4.50 per portion that we shared. The bill came to £76.36 this include a bottle wine and tap water. Also a service of 10% was added. When we went to pay the bill the waitress said has a good will gesture she would take £2 off the bill because you did not eat it all, This reduced the bill to £74.36. Waste of time & money, felling insulted is an understatement!! it should never have been put on a plate in the beginning it should have gone straight in the bin!! Unfortunately we are having go without our breakfast this morning because of the shocking experience!!!

My name is Thomas, and I just want to say this place is amazinng, before I get started I just want to say I only do reviews for places that realy incredbely inpress me. as soon as I walked in one of the lovely staff members called sahrah kindly offerd me a coktail. It was lovely, in adition the costomer service is amazing. To sum this all up Etchinghill Golf Club is amazing I want to say thank to all the staff wich were there serving us wich was: 1. Harley 2. Lovely friendly pub that allows dogs. Great British food on the menu and the taste is great too. Friendly staff, and if you are lucky Banofee pie is on the menu. Best I've ever had.

Pop in here after walking from Charing across the fields. Lovely friendly staff , lovely seating areas at the front and back of the pub..We shared a meat/cheeses platter and homemade nachos which were the best I've had for a long, long time.

Very disappointed, the property runs down, very bad condition , the images outside very scary, look like the ghost house , the garden very old all chairs and tables are very very bad condition and not safe . After 2 pm no staff … think carefully before you book this hotel !!!!

Excellent food. Quick and warm service

Market Square is a fab venue! Josh and his team have been fantastic to us! We were hosted for a mini music festival and were taken care of with love! We also had some vegan food (small plates and pizzas), and the food was delicious! Lovely cosy live venue downstairs, great size, atmosphere and lights! Lovely cafe with fresh juices and food upstairs. They do make yummy juices and coffees too!

wonderful place, came here after tiring and disappointing day of fossil hunting and the service and food just blew new life in me. unforgettable and can't wait to return again.

Only one in bar and a bar person ignored me for two minutes so I asked if they were open and got told could I wait a minute! Not exactly busy were they and when I did get served she didn’t even say thanks ! The beach at Romney sands is full of litter maybe the holiday camp could get some people to do a litter pick as most of the rubbish was from their children’s stuff they sell in the show bar
