Far too many tables for space available very squished in here. Dog friendly Worst menu choice for food however food ordered was delicious. And no cheese in the burger (strange)

Brilliant place to go. The food was fantastic and the staff were lovely. Really good atmosphere and very welcoming. Will definitely be going there again.

Lovely food, very clean & well presented restaurant, last visit service was a little to be desired, I don't know if the waitresses were having a bad night but we felt a little underwhelmed by the customer service, we have been before & had wonderful customer service, would recommend

First time visit heard great reviews,sadly let down service was slow,vegetables cold meat was nice and tender. No condiments offered and tried collecting plates before I had finished my meal. Dessert soggy pastry on lemon dessert. Very disappointed and will not be going back in a hurry

Totally under staffed in the kitchen and the waiting staff haven't got a clue. Ridiculous.

Great food and lovely atmosphere

What a lovely pub, beautifully decorated with really helpful and attentive staff. Food is lacking. We had the bar menu, where there were loads of choices. The food was significantly delayed, when it came it wasn't the best. Couple of items were incorrect or missing side dips and all in all the food just wasn't very good. The staff were amazing about the whole thing keeping us updated and offering drinks but it is a shame about the food. Once that is sorted this would be amazing location.

Favourite pub in Folkestone / Hythe. Good selection of beers and food is best balance of quality and value pub food that I’ve had in Folkestone/Hythe!

Absolutely gutted today. We always come here with our dog for food and usually it’s great but the food today was awful. The battered halloumi needs to come off the menu it’s just full of grease and not enjoyable. Husband had the chicken and chips which was £16 and it was awful. It was slightly burnt and to be honest the chicken selects at Macdonalds are better. Your sausage roll has shrunk and your chips are dismal. I saw the roasts coming out and wished we had chosen one of them. It won’t put me off visiting the pub because we love it in there but we have been put off the food.

This should have been a nice lunch, but it left me feeling angry. Service was very poor. First alarm bell was when we asked for our drinks and after 15 minutes we asked for them again. We then ordered our meal. Scallops arrived and to be fair they were tasty. We then waited 25-30 minutes for our mains to arrive. When I chased it up with the young male waiter he didn’t come back with a reply on how long it would take and so I asked him again and he look flabbergasted and replied “they’ve said they don’t know how long it’s going to be.” When the food finally arrives, my chips were cold so I had to send it back. I felt like I was being a pest by this point but for nearly £20 for a pie and chips you expect it to be warm. Suspiciously the plate arrived back quickly and now with a slightly soggy pie and piping hot chips. No apology, nothing. My partners burger was £17 and it was average and tasteless. Such a shame because it’s a nice place, but the service and food are not of the same standard. No money knocked off or anything so we left just feeling disgruntled. Will not be returning.

Ok I am a bit fussy about fish and chips, this one was good but I have had batter, sorry better. However the beer was good and the staff friendly, and the food good, overall. Will I go again definitely. Nice place.

Good service food was very nice

The food here was exceptional, but the service left something to be desired. When we were sat, we were not given any drinks menus, and when our waitress came to take our order, she seemed to find it strange that we asked for a wine menu first - as if it were an inconvenience? We ordered a bottle of wine, starters, and the tomahawk steak to share - all of which were absolutely delicious. We were a bit cheeky when ordering the steak, and asked for all 4 sauces. The waitress said this wouldn't be a problem, but when the food arrived, we were only given 2 sauces (garlic butter and peppercorn). We followed up on the remaining sauces and were told that one was on the steak itself (chimichurri) and the other two were given, so I asked about the bearnaise and our waitress said she would order it for us 'if we wanted' - again, as if it were an inconvenience. The 4th sauce never arrived. Whilst I appreciate we were cheeky for asking for all 4 (although we obviously said we would pay for the extras!), I think we should've been told if it was a problem. Instead, we were ignored. Our table forgotten about until my partner physically went to the bar to ask for the bill. Even though we wanted desserts, we didn't think the menu would ever come. We were charged extra for the sauces on the bill, which we didn't challenge as we still got 3/4 however I still do not understand why our waitress didn't tell us we wouldn't be getting the 4th - that seems like basic customer service. All in all, the food is spectacular, but staff need better training. Oh, and please invest in some nicer wine glasses for couples sharing a bottle! Short glasses with thick stems do not encourage people to opt for a bottle of wine.

The food was really good. Came here is a party of four for dinner. We all had starters and mains. Not too expensive, the service was great. Really nice please to go for food! Highly recommend!

Decent enough pub and atmosphere thatseemed busy with the locals but to be honest the food was underwhelming for the price & considering the recommendation on the place!

Used to be great - mediocre food at the bar - not good value. Came for lunch - glass Sauvignon Blanc - £8.90 - steep, Estrella Beer £6.50 One of our party had nachos - very ordinary for £11.50 Fire lovely and cozy but decor could do with refurbishment.

I visited the Pullman with friends and decided to share a portion of nachos and was surprised to see a bowl of Doritos with a lump of coagulated mozzarella cheese welded to the bowl and topped with a watery salsa and thimble of sour cream which made sharing impossible… the staff were great and loved the atmosphere. Do NOT recommend the nachos

Unfortunately I felt really let down for our anniversary meal. Service felt as if they didn’t want to be there, as someone gluten free I couldn’t have a starter or dessert. Main meal was wonderful though. I also cannot drink alcohol and one choice which was beer nothing else to cater for needs. Would recommend if not dietary restrictions but not if your coeliac or unable to drink.

Food has unfortunately gone downhill over the last year to 18 months and remains top dollar . £12 for 3 fish goujoms and a flat bread . Come on try harder please. Still I like it here it’s got that grubby feel about it . A bit like how you would imagine being in the real leaky cauldron . I will still go in for drinks as I’ve been going for 40 plus years now. But maybe look for somewhere else to eat until next menu rethink or cook change .

I’m sorry to say the Sunday lunch we ordered was inedible. Soggy, greasy, cold courgette ’fritter’. The ‘honey and mustard sausage bites’ was one greasy sausage broken into bits in a bowl. We thought it was for the dog at first! The roast was cold, dry and I wouldn’t like to say how long the chicken had been kept ‘warm’ for. Some of the veg was cold and uncooked. We sent it all back and got a refund - the staff were very nice and apologetic, but seemed accepting that’s how it was and slightly embarrassed. Maybe it was a bad day. The pictures of food on insta and the website looked very different.

Below average roast. Overcooked, dry and hard. Yorkshure pudding was slightly burnt on the outside and doughy on the inside. Vegetables undercooked. Very little care. If I was in London and I got served this roast, I would have sent it back. Sub standard.

The ambience was good plus service excellent however the ox cheek was slightly off .Fresh cuts I would recommend if they are marinating in wine over knight .My partner enjoyed the bangers and mash .I did enjoy the cabbage and the gravy though and food presentation went well with the red wine .It’s a sad shame that they no longer serve ravioli .This is one of the places that had that good ravioli .

Excellent food and great service. Staff extremely friendly and the young food runner girl who I believe was called Connie so polite, nothing was a bother to her, even when another table was being extremely challenging she kept on smiling. Will be back again.

Stopped in here when in Folkstone for the first time and it was a little gem. Beautifully cosy with an open fire when you walk in, really nice wine, and the food was delicious! Will definitely be returning. We had the chicken, bacon and leek pie, and the fish and chips. Both were brilliant. Thank you!

The layout and general feel of the place was excellent, staff were friendly but the food let it down . We both ordered pies and mash etc one chicken one steak . The mash was supposed to be ' spring onion mash' there was no spring onion and the mash that was there was quite salty and covered by the pie all served In a bowl, an ordinary plate with the items separate on it . Chicken pie was OK but the steak was very gristly and chewy for the price

Sunday Roast - Please note the Pork is Belly Pork not sliced roast Pork. No roast potatoes, Quarter of chard cabbage, Half sliced carrot. Hard potatoes. Yorkshire pudding very overcooked. Too much rosemary in the gravy. Rosemary with lamb not Pork or in the gravy. Did not ask if we required apple sauce. Too much mustard in the Cauliflower cheese. Meal not very warm. Typical English roast lunch would of been nice. Not impressed & overpriced.

Great little restaurant in the centre of Folkestone. Seems popular with locals and visitors alike. Food was outstanding, certainly more expensive than chain pubs nearby but much higher quality.

This used to be my favourite place to come for a roast haven’t been for a while because I’ve moved , not sure if the chef has changed but the roast now is really stingy, hardly any vegetables, one carrot and a block of cabbage the roast potatoes were hard like bullets and and Yorkshire was over done. Bit disappointed

Like walking in no to man’s land, either that or the staff were not interested in being at work… slow to take orders. Steak was undercooked and as tough as Grandads boot, raw bacon, rock hard Luke warm vegetables and one sausage for a children’s meal? Rather tight on portions. But hey spent 80+ quid without being offered a print out of the receipt. Can’t say I’d come back in a hurry!

Super long wait, inedible food, one dish (bangers) was half burned/ half raw served with flavourless gravy, the other (veggie burger) tasted strongly of mould, dirty water glasses and a dubious donation added to the bill with no explanation. My husband is seriously ill from the veggie burger he had yesterday (the only thing he had so there is no doubt). This is the second time we had a terrible experience there after a horrendous sunday roast 2 years back. Giving the benefit of the doubt and hearing that they had revamped a few things we tried it again but that was a complete bust. We are not coming back. disgusting and overpriced

Lovely garden area for warm evenings

Was looking for somewhere that served a roast...well blown away. Kat was amazing so welcoming as was the other staff who we dis not get the names of. The lovely lady delivering the foid..clearing the tables so appreciated. Could not do enough to make my wife and I feel more welcome. We had the roast beef and pork belly followed by desert. The beef was raw enough to melt and be flavorsism. My wifes pork was delightful. The cabbage was lovely and seared. The cauliflower cheese to die for. Everyone please go and try coz we can not express enough how glorious the meal was or do it justice. We had pimms and red wine to wash it all down. The service was very friendly and warm and natural. Such a wonderful lunch and experience. Thank you

Fish and chips and "home made" pie both £17.50 each were not value for money. Although nicely cooked the pie was very small and resembled a pork pie in size. I doubt very much if it was "all made from scratch with a generous filling" as stated on the menu. The fish was very thin and small but came with loads of chips to cover the plate. Table we sat at wasn't very clean and no staff came to see if we were happy with the meal. We wouldn't be in hurry to return.

This place has become both a great location for both food and drink. The owners have a couple of places locally and very well respected. Winter here with the open fire is an absolute must! Summertime here in the garden area is just lovely!

Awesome aged rump steak meal with garlic and chilli prawns, peppercorn sauce, onion rings, chips & garlic mushrooms. We would highly recommend The Pullman as this is the 2nd time we have eaten here before or after a 14 day trip to France & tonight’s meal was exceptional! Staff were great, enjoyed the Poretti beer and our 3 x border collies were made very welcome. We had Pork belly bites as an extra and they were also very tasty.

I wouldn't go here again. Let's leave it at that.

Really excellent pie, delicious with cider gravy which had a nice tang to it. Friendly, welcoming service and a nice spacious proper pub feel. The bitter was perfect with my pie. I have walked past before and never gone in, a mistake I won't repeat.

Competent pub catering but, nothing special. The Malbec could have been better. The dessert should have been served with a fork as well as a spoon. You should consider offering a dessert wine.

I come to The Pullman regularly at weekends, just for drinks, and always have the best time. The team are warm, friendly and helpful. A special shout out for Riley who is always happy and smiley. Thank you Riley!!! 😁

I don’t usually leave reviews but felt I had to with this one, if you are vegan I would be cautious going here. I went here with my family for my nan’s birthday, I was served a chicken pie and mash with butter instead of the vegan meal, and had already eaten some of the mash and gravy before I realised and cut open the pie. My other vegan relatives were also given fish instead of banana blossom, the vegan chilli was microwaved as it was cold in some bits and warm in others, and really bland. The staff were very kind and helpful about it, the service was amazing and I was given a replacement meal, but I was already quite upset I’d eaten dairy. If you plan on going here as a vegan, double check what you’ve been served before eating!

Sunday Lunch was perfect. Tender Roast beef served Pink. Good house wine. Lovley friendly staff. Nice atmosphere. Loved the Menu.

Very disappointing and looking at previous reviews the owners do not respond or listen to the reviews. Unfortunately the place is dirty and dusty but we stayed to try the food. We ordered 1 x chicken burger, 1 x beef burger and a portion of chunky chips (no skin), which we were told they did. The order arrived and it was wrong, we ended up with a third burger and all burgers came with skin on fries. Explain to the member of staff, what the order should have been but they couldn’t see the issue and we could have the extra burger and the chips were all fine, even though there wasn’t a portion of chunky chips (no skin). Some might see it as a bonus being given an extra meal, unfortunately the extra meal wasn’t wanted and wasn’t the point, the point is, the order was wrong and the staff didn’t care or correct the mistake because a free meal is a good substitute from their point of view.

Newly refurbished venue with new menu. Pros: Pies were tasty, as were the sides. Nice building With a few more finishing touches it will look much nicer. Polite service Cons: Initial table offered was laid for 3 people but really couldn't fit 3 adults, definitely a 2 person table with wishful thinking it be for 3. So we asked to move to a different table which in the empty restaurant was quite far back which might be why we felt forgotten about. Service was lackluster and sporadic at best. Felt understaffed. Weren't given any water for about 15 minutes after arriving when told we'd be getting some, and weren't offered the chance of ordering drinks before food. No drinks menu given at all. Venue was cold, no heating on and a bit of a draft. Not offered any condiments with the food. After saying we didn't want dessert and plates had been taken no one came to check on us, and we actively had to chase for the bill. Prices charged were different (greater than) those listed on the menus. Discretionary charity donation added to bill but no information is given about the charity before payment or when paying unless you check the bill carefully. Maybe some cards to tell you about the charity should be placed around for people to know more about. These might all be first week back open and new menu issues. But IMO serving staff need some more training / guidance on the menu, customer service and operating systems. Food was tasty, so might give them another go if we're ever back in town. All in all a very confusing experience.

We were a party of three on 31/12/23 one was a lady of 95 who needs a wheeled frame to assist her walking, this meant I had to stand and endure the torrent while holding the door for her. Once in there is a fireplace which I assume should have a warm welcoming fire but I think the chimney has received as much maintenance as the gutters, it’s blocked and there is no updraft there was no flames just lots of smoke pouring out. Then the usherette came and showed us to our seats, or that’s what it seemed like. It was like going into the cinema after the film has started, I strongly advise you to bring a torch. The service was acceptable or on the poor side of acceptable. We ordered the Sunday roast dinner the Yorkshire pud was stone cold the roast potatoes although cooked they were rock hard and took some cutting, the veg consisted of red and green cabbage and cauliflower which were cold the meat was good. The pain was not over, as we left we stopped to pay, which meant that just like the monkey in the little row boat we were throughly choked and soaked as we left. Great little find. Never been here before but will go back. Good food, had the charcuterie board and all good meats. Worth a visit if in the area for sure.

Nice to be back to somewhere I used to frequent 20 odd years ago. Comfortable atmosphere, nice food and quick, pleasant service. Warm and welcoming.

Great pre Christmas Dinner with friends. There were 10 of us and we hadn't pre ordered but the meals were delivered fast and hot. Cannot fault at all.

Cuisine bonne on va dire correcte mais chère pour un hamburger, cadre vieillot voire vétuste un bon coup de peinture serait nécessaire
